Hello LTT Forum people, I need your help. (I do know a little bit about computers, but almost nothing about software or BIOS stuff btw). My computer has been making a really weird sound every time I turn it on. It has been doing this for the past few months, and I used to just let it as it would stop after a few seconds of being on. Now it takes like 2 or 3 restarts of my computer to have it go away This was a prebuild I got for Christmas back in 2020 or 2021. The only change I have made to it has been cleaning it out every once in a while, and replacing a MSI 970 to a PNY 1060. I'll list the stats of my computer below. According to the steam survey, I have 2 SSDs with one of them being a 10Mb SSD. I don't have that at all. Do you have any idea what it could be? If you also have recommendations for what I should replace/upgrade in the future I'd appreciate it. CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz OS: Windows 10 Motherboard: ? (But it is MSI) Power Supply: XFX Pro850W GPU: PNY NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB RAM: 1x16GB DDR 4 (at) 2133 MHz Memory: 1xSSD (512GB) and Seagate 2TB Hard Drive Video: Weird PC Noise.mov

Hey all, I had a hard time finding something on the interwebs that describes the indicator chimes that AirPods (Pro 2) cases make. Granted I only searched a few minutes, but thought a thread here could be a good resource. Thanks in advance!

Hi, im using the arctic freezer 34 esports duo cooler and its making a weird cricket noise while playing videogames. I´ve tested something to find out where the noise was coming from and I am certain it comes from the cooler. I tried lifting it a bit and that stopped the noise. I was just wondering if maybe its not well screwed in or if something is wrong with the fan. If anybody has any idea how to fix or whats wrong do tell :D

Hi there, since yesterday i have a rather strange problem. My computer plays a strange chiming sound in irregular intervals. I do not think it comes from windows, because i checked all windows notification sounds and nothing was similar to the sound i hear. I didn´t install any new programms yesterday, it just started out of nowhere. I deactivated all websites which were allowed to notify me, i reinstalled the audio driver and a restart also didn´t work. Today i managed to record it. If anyone ever heard that sound or had the same problem, thanks for the replys. You can hear the chiming sound at the end of the attached mp3. Strange sound.mp3

Hello. I semi-recently upgraded my PC with all brand-new parts except for my PSU which I reused from my old build. I've read the FAQ pinned in this forum but I didnt answer my questions. Link to PC part list --- Link to just my PSU Firstly, my PSU makes some noise occasionally when under load during games. It's just audible enough to hear it admist the fan noises from my case. I can pretty much comfirm that it's from the PSU since I put my ear close to it and it seems to come from there. It also occasionally makes a "wind whooshing" noise rarely when mostly the PC is not busy after I was gaming. (I dont know a better way to describe the sound. It just sounds like air flowing but differently than anything else my PC makes). I've never had any issues with my PSU or PC for that matter, so I have no complaints other than the sounds. Here's a video that has some of the audio I recorded by holding my phone near the back of my case where my PSU is. Obviously it isnt as loud as the video may suggest since my phone is very near the PSU, but it is loud enough that I can notice it over the fan noises in my GPU and case. Second, I'm wondering if I need to worry about any PSU issues in general. Since this is a broad question, I dont expect people to be able to simply answer Yes or No to that. However, I hope I can get some kind of answer to if I need to worry at all about my PSU since it is somewhat old compared to my new parts. I'd say it's around 7+ years old now or so. (I dont have the receipt of purchase anymore, so I cant be too accurate) The PC has been running great for a year and a half with no issues. Performance and thermals are all good. Even during high loads like Cyberpunk 2077 at max settings. (So it isnt like I'm not working the PC hard) Thank you for reading and to anyone that replies.

Russian Sound Inventory 1st Post For the sake of ease, I will include the "non-Linguistic" method of explaining the sounds as well as providing the IPA of each vowel and consonant (they will be wrapped in a parenthesis). Since I am at the beginning of the book, I will not delve too deep into Allophony, merging, etc etc. Maybe the book will cover that later. I don't wish to jump ahead for my own good as well as anyone who may be reading this. Anyways... first I'll break them down into four groups, from easiest to say/remember to the hardest. I'll try to come up with image templates later on instead of relying on the very limited range of our editors (no BBCode SUCKS), but for now, please stick with me. Group 1: (Capital) (Small) (Pronunciation) (IPA) А а | [a] as in father (/a/) K к | [k] as in kangaroo (/k/ or /kʲ/) М м | [m] as in map or man (/m/ or /mʲ/) О о | [o] as in bottle *1 (/o/) Т т | [t] as in tan or tool (/t/ or /tʲ/) Now Group 2 will contain letters that look like English letters and you might try to pronounce them the same, but they aren't pronounced the same at all. Group 2: (Capital) (Small) (Pronunciation) (IPA) В в | [v] as in vet (/v/ or /vʲ/) Е е | [ye] as in yes (/je/, / ʲe/ or /e/) Н н | [n] as in never (/n/ or /ɲ/) Р р | [r] as in error *2 (/r/ or /rʲ/) С с | [ s ] as in sit (/s/ or /sʲ/) У у | [oo] as in boot (/u/) Х х | [h] as in the German ch in Bach or the Scots Loch (/x/) Next...! Group 3: (Capital) (Small) (Pronunciation) (IPA) Б б | [ b ] as in bet or bad (/b/ or /bʲ/) Г г | [g] as in get or go (/ɡ/) Д д | [d] as in do or debt (/d/ or /dʲ/) Ё ё | [yo] as in yolk or yonder *3 (/jo/ or / ʲɵ/) З з | [z] as in zoo (/z/ or /zʲ/) И и | [ee] as in me or eel (/i/ or / ʲi/) Й й | [y] as in boy *4 (/j/) Л л | [l] as in people (/l/ or /lʲ/) П п | [p] as in pet (/p/ or /pʲ/) Ф ф | [f] as in face or fat (/f/ or /fʲ/) Э э | [e] as in met or fed (/ɛ/) Ю ю | [yoo] as in use or universe (/ju/ or / ʲʉ/) Я я | [ya] as in yak (/ja/ or / ʲæ/) Finally, we move onto the last group. The 'hardest' group! Group 4: (Capital) (Small) (Pronunciation) (IPA) Ж ж | [zh] as in the s in pleasure (/ʐ/) Ц ц | [ts] as in its or sits (/t͡s/) Ч ч | [ch] as in church (/t͡ɕ/) Щ щ | [ shsh] as in Welsh sheep or sheer (/ɕɕ/) Ш ш | [ sh] as in shut (/ʂ/) Ы ы | [ i ] as in bit or hit *5 ( /ɨ/ ) Ь ь | [] *6 (/ ʲ/) Ъ ъ | [] *7 Now let me direct some of the things I marked in the sound inventory with the symbol ‘ * ’. *1 Please note that in unstressed syllables standard Moscow pronunciation is of ‘o’ is closer to the [a]. *2 r is rolled like in Scottish English. Please click this link for more on the rolled r. *3 Russians usually omit the diacritic mark (the dots) so it will often look just like [е]. However, it retains the marks in dictionaries etc etc. *4 Й forms diphthongs, so ‘óй’ sounds like ‘oy’ in the word ‘boy’, ‘aй’ sounds like ‘igh’ in the word ‘sigh’, and ‘yй’ sounds like the ‘oui’ in the name ‘Louis’ *5 the /i/ is pronounced with the tip of the tongue further back in the mouth *6 In order to tell you what this sounds like, it is only possibly to for me to give you the IPA. This sign is called the ‘soft sign’, silent. It palatalizes the preceding consonant—if it is phonologically possible. To remind you to pronounce this during transcriptions/pronunciation, I'll put a raised y ‘y’ in place of the Russian letter. *7 This letter does not have a sound of its own, but works by preventing the palatalization of consonants. Both the soft sign and the hard sign became phonetic markers over time, meaning now ‘ь’ indicates that the preceding consonant is ‘soft’ (palatalized) while ‘ъ’ indicates that the preceding consonant is ‘hard’ (non-palatalized). These two letters are pretty hard for me to explain, so I encourage you to read the wikipedia pages for them (they are linked by clicking their letters respectively).

Good afternoon! 9 months after buying the MSI MAG CORALIQUID C360, it started making some kind of gurgling. I am attaching a video with the sound that is issued on 0:03, 0:17, 0:30. The sound may not be made for several hours, and then start to be made every 20 seconds, which is very annoying. What can make such a sound? How to solve this problem? Please help. Watching a video about various problems with water cooling, I noticed that everyone says that the pump should be lower than the radiator so that there are no air bubbles, but in the MSI MAG CORALIQUID C360 model, the pump is in the radiator I am using an MSI Z690 EDGE WIFI motherboard. Increasing the pump speed to the maximum does not help, the sound remains. WIndows 10 64bit v10.0.15063 i7-4700 @ 3.40ghz CPU 8gb Ram Asus Z97-E Motherboard Sound Blaster Z sound card Elgato HD60 Pro capture card Zotac GTX 970 4gb Thermaltake Smart M750W PSU TP LInk N900 WIreless Adapter Fractal Design Redefine R4 Tower Bios Version, American Megatrends Inc. 0312, 9/29/2014 I decided to swap out standard case fans a few days ago, Im just going to list everything I did as that will give you a better idea than giant paragraphs. Case Removed front case fan, cleaned with electric duster, decided it was still doing very well and scrapped replacing it. Replaced 3rd party fan on the bottom of the case with a higher quality one. Removed the sound card as I couldn't get to the cpu fan Moved CPU fan from rear side of heatsink to front side facing ram. (Had it wrong forever, am confirmed dumb.) While moving the cpu fan I took off the yellow tag with a marked out trashcan on it assuming it was just a "Dont throw electrical devices in the trash" style tag. If it was a anti static tag of some sort then that another thing. Replaced the sound card. I didn't notice anything from this point. As I was having issue with my Blue Yeti and ATR2100 picking up white noise (thought it could be the fans in the case which led me to swapping things.) I downloaded VB Virtual Audio Cable and Reaper to try and kill the noise in the background of those mics. I installed the VB Virtual Audio Cable drivers and Reaper. Messed with them for a bit and decided it was too much hassle uninstalling them both. I still didn't really notice much. Later I started a chat on skype and was told the mic sounded terrible. Listening in through playback devices I heard how awful it was which has gotten slightly better since as I've swapped mic cables to a boom mic. Here are two recordings, one of silence where you can hear the interference and the other of me talking with the interference. Silence/Popping Voice Sample Now what have I done to try and remedy the problem? Try different headphones Try different headphone cables Use alternate soundcard I have of the same model (Sound Blaster Z) Unplug the new fan Move the CPU fan back to the incorrect side reinstall sound card drivers Reinstall/Uninstall VB Virtual Audio Use motherboard 3.5mm ports instead of sound card. Remove Sound card. Removed any extra usb items Swap PCI-E ports System Restore Reset system with files Reset system completely. Reinstall all drivers Confirm that USB Mics/headsets DO NOT have the interference. Remove Sound Card Remove Video Card Rewire/organize all cables inside the tower Use a different outlet Use a different surge protector As of now the popping is still going on only on the microphone side of things. When idle I hear extremely slight buzzing in my headphones, in game if I turn sound all the way down the buzzing exists and the tone changes as I go into different menus. During videos/web browsing there isn't an issue aside from the extremely quiet buzz. I still plan to... Remove wifi card Remove Capture card I don't have another PSU or motherboard to test. I can buy either if needed but Im trying to test everything else first. Sorry this was so long, I spent alot of time reading tons of posts from people with these types of issues and doing what they were told to try and knock out any options. Thanks for any help.

My computer has been making chirping noises every now and then for a while now. I first thought it was coming from one of the HDDs, but putting my ear next to it it seems to come from the PSU. Of course now that I'm writing this topic it suddenly goes silent ._. Anyway, it's getting more frequent now and it's pretty noticable. It's very periodic though being like "chkchk...chkchk...chkchk" having a second or so in between each chirp. Is it possible this is from the PSU? If so what is it, fans or components? It's an EVGA Supernova G2 1000W that is 3 years old now.

I have a Monster Superstar that is creating some very odd clicking and popping noises. I was using it as normal when it ran out of battery, and when I plugged it in and powered it on it began making these awful noises. I don't believe it's the result of any sort of interference between my phone and the speaker because the noises persist even when the speaker is disconnected. I can somewhat drown them out when I play music at full volume but they always linger in the background ruining the experience. The noises don't appear to be totally random, they persist at about 3 clicks per second. See linked video.

Greetings. The LTT Forum notification sounds aren't to my liking, and they appear to get louder the more notifications I have or the more replies have been posted, which can be quite jarring. Is there any way to mute notification sounds entirely? I'd appreciate any help with this. Regards, Aereldor.

So I am a very low-subscriber count YouTuber, currently at 1.7K on YouTube, and I have run across some issues. It's something I don't really notice, and it's the controller sounds my mic picks up from gaming. Now, my microphone is a simple blue snowball with a shock mount, armstand, and pop-filter. It currently is on mode #1 aka Cardioid Mode, so it is directed towards me rather than ambient noise behind it and so on. I do use a noise gate which helps for the more quiet clicks, but when I get in a build-battle per say and things really start to heat up, it sounds like a toddler playing with a cheap Chinese plastic toy, but ten times more annoying, that's at least what people have been telling me. I'm not sure what to do. I don't know of any little attachments to buy to quiet down an Xbox One controller, nor have I ever heard of a "silent" Xbox One controller either. If they do have any of these does anybody know? Also, with using a noise gate, the microphone is about a foot away from my face. People say to put the mic right up in my mouth pretty much, turn down levels, turn up the noise gate to the max, and stay like that, but it completely destroys the audio quality even after editing it, rendering it useless for a video. I'm unsure of what to do exactly now. I don't want to upset the 10 people that watch my videos anymore. Any advice would be very much so appreciated!

Hey, I have an Seagate 4 TB Helium HDD and it started making noises i am not familliar with. After the noises got more frequently i did an rma at seagate. Now my new HDD started to make the same noises. When i surf and do other small things on my pc it stays quiet but when i start a game this sound appears frequently. It sounds like "wruuup" (i attached a sound file). In my opinion it shouldnt do that sound. Can anyone explain to me if this is a normal sound and if it is concerning or not? And if its normal could you explain why it does that and why the old one started making it after one year of use and the new one from the start? I would be really glad for any help/advise. Kind regards Niklas wrup.mp3

So, anytime I listen to music or watch a video on my new laptop, the volume will raise and lower itself in increments. I can hear that after a few seconds of a video it suddenly gets quiter, but when i check windows volume, the number has not changed, and when i check youtube, the video has not changed volume either. Later on in the video the volume may jump back up for a few seconds and then back down. The sound never cuts out, and it always goes suddenly up or down, not slowly. The new laptop is my HP 15 cw1xxx with a ryzen 5 3500u, 8gb of RAM, and vega 8 gfx

It is much much smaller when compared to crickets. I'm able to hear it when my head is like 5-10 inch away from the pc, if i put my head right near the case i can hear it medium clear. This sounds however not only annoy me but hurt my ears and in turn make me want to vomit at times. When I'm sitting normally I could hardly notice this sound at all, but my both of my ears felt pressure, Dizzy and small amount of pain. At first I thought it was the fans, however i turn off all fans and this sound still going on. Thus I suspect that it is my psu or graphic cards, I can't really tell at all. I wonder if any has experience this problem before, if yes, how were you able to solve it? My pc is usually idle at 37-40C for cpu and gpu, would putting my system in eco mode somehow damaged the system? No gaming because of this sound, just video editing / rendering My other options is to use acoustic foam to surround the pc and block off the sounds. My pc is under my desk, with left side open (top, right and bottom are all surround by wood. Thus if I use the acoustic foam and seal the left side it would be seal like a box and might reduce the sounds. Airflow might be crappy if I do this, but i think it will survive (would occasionally remove the foam to let it breath). Any suggestions are welcomed

1. My first problem is: I keep getting noise like crackling, and popping, in addition to sounds getting partially muted while I am using my Maschine Production software. This usually happens when my computer is doing another task while I am making music. For instance, I had some files downloading for one of my video games, and as my Disk and my CPU usage increased, I started to experience more of issues above. 2. My second problem is: Since I have installed ASIO4ALL v2, I am only able to hear my music production program (Maschine) while it is in use. This means that I can no longer hear YouTube, ITunes, or any other system sounds while Maschine is open, which inhibits me from listening to other people music to get ideas, while the music that I’m creating is on pause. · It seems like ASIO4ALL can only handle one program when it’s in use, and it is necessary to use for Maschine after a recent update. Before the update, I was able to use Maschine’s WASAPI (Shared Mode), and select my Right and Left Speakers as the audio outputs, which allowed me to hear other system sounds, and hear Maschine at the same time. I was wondering what the possible solutions to these problems are. My speakers plug into my motherboard via the Green audio port. I have been trying to fix these problems for 6 hours now, while following the troubleshooting guide provided by Native Instruments (https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/knowledge-base/show/3671/windows-tuning-tips-for-audio-processing/). I got to the point where I downloaded ASIO4ALL and changed the Buffer Size, and that did nothing, then I got lost on the next instructions… lol. - Case: Corsair Carbide Spec-02 - OS: Windows 10 - Motherboard: DP55SB by Intel - RAM: 8 GB - CPU: i7 875k - Graphics Card: GTX 660 - PSU: EVGA 550w Gold - Storage: 1 TB WD Black drive - *Using a 4 Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCIe Host card by Vantec

So not too long ago I brought a HyperX Cloud II. The other day I was having some trouble with the connector for the dongle thingy. Like it was playing like crackling sounds until I moved it a certain way. Anyway a few days go past and sometimes it does that and sometimes it doesn't. But last night I was playing Rust with some friends and they were complaining about echo. I dismissed it until now. Just did some testing and in audacity it plays my mic but also any Music or videos I am listening to/watching. I assume this is what the echo is. Its like its playing windows sounds along with my mic sound. Also in recording devices in windows settings if I have something playing (video, music, etc...) the indicator moves as if I am speaking. Thanks in advance -Lachie

My logitech Z506 was working fine for the past 2 weeks or so, until today when i decided to blast my music at max volume and ever since then it simply just stopped playing any sounds. I've updated my drivers and check all the connectors and everything is fine, even the power cable. In the sound control it shows that sound is being played, but it isn't audible on my speakers whatsoever. Updated sound drivers and even checked if it was my motherboard's sound card that was the issue, both doesn't change anything. Is there any fixes to this problem or do i have to use the warrenty?
