I wanted a soundbar for my bedroom/home theater. (pretty sad ik). I have an LG A1 and am upgrading from a Samsung HW-E450. I was thinking about the Vizio Elvate 5.1.4 but its proably overkill. What do you think?

Hi everyone, I'm considering upgrading my audio setup, which is a TV speaker, I'm looking for a balanced opinion, because if I ask on Reddit I know the answer depends on a sub I post in After doing some research I narrowed it down to two options: A) Samsung HW-Q930C soundbar B) Denon AVR-S660H receiver + pair of ELAC Debut 2.0 B5.2 speakers A is a bit more expensive than B, but less than any upgrade to B. My issue is that I cannot set up wired satellite speakers permanently and won't be able probably for 10+ years. So my thinking was: A.1) get the soundbar and put the satellite speakers as extended front channels and move them to the orange spots (left) when I want to watch a more demanding movie A.2) get the soundbar and put the satellite speakers in the yellow spots behind the table (right) B) get 2 LR speakers and an AV receiver set them up in front, and then upgrade them with a center channel/subwoofer as I see fit and give up the surround sound Additional info: I live in the apartment, but I do not have any neighbors apart from the floor below (and I live in the EU so we have more of a solid type of walls and building in general so should help with sound isolation). But I won't be able to blast volume so this is not a huge consideration. I do not listen to music that much in the living room, I plan to have a separate setup for that in my office in the future, but I guess this might change when I have a better setup? I guess my main question or concern is how much I'm giving up in terms of surround sound when watching movies by going to 2.0/2.1/3.0/3.1 compared to a Dolby Atmos soundbar. I'm aware that with the soundbar I won't get bang for my buck and I give up upgradability. I'm leaning towards option B with the receiver, but want to be sure what I give up. Thanks, everyone!

Hello Linus Techies, I've recently added a new Smart monitor into my PC set up which I can watch content on and doesn't need to be connected to my PC and drawing resources from my main display. But I don't want to use the built in speakers. I want to link the smart monitor into my PC so the audio is routed to whichever output my PC has selected (headphones or speaker). I'm using a Sonos soundbar which connects to the Digital audio out on the back of my motherboard as I don't have an ARC rated HDMI on the motherboard. I tried using a splitter on this and connecting the smart monitor the same way, this didn't work. I also tried a USB - C to 3.5mm Jack cable into the back of the motherboard which also didn't work. Does anyone know of a way I can achieve this? Thank you, Joseph

Hello! We are planning a new meeting room at work, and none of use have done this kind of setup before so i want to get help from you experts! We want a interactive monitor, we were looking at the Samsung Flip Pro (65 inch) and then we want a soundbar so we could also use the montior to watch some basic stuff like the Olympics etc with some decent sound. As far as i have gathered i would need to connect the soundbar to the monitor either using Optic og HDMI Arc/eArc. But this monitor do not support either of those connections, so my questions is, would it be possible to buy something like a Sont HT-S2000 and use the USB-A connection to connect the soundbar to the monitor while also using a USB-C cable from a laptop to the monitors USB-B connection. Would that mean i would get sound via the USB-A soundbar and also retain the interactive ascept of the monitor when connecting it from a USB-C connection to a USB-B connection on the back of the monitor? From what i read, using bluetooth from the monitor to the soundbar is not recommended and might cause delay. What would you guys suggest i do if i want a simple USB-C cable from the laptop ? Thank you!

So the title says it all, my mate wants to get a soundbar. HOWEVER, if you have other options, that would suit him better for improving sound quality without taking a lot of space and as he said it "is kinda flashy" (has rgb), let me know in the comments. I'm honestly a bit useless when it comes to sound peripherals, only ever used headphones. Budget: £100 Monitor: Samsung LS34J550WQUXEN 34" Ultra Wide LED Monitor Requirements: must work for his laptop and ps5, both will be connected to the monitor with HDMI cables (monitor only has 2 HDMI ports, but it has 1 DP) He told me that he was looking at the Razor Leviathan V2 X, but looking at the review from LTT about the non X variant, I don't really want to recommend it to him, so, any other options?

I have a 55 in TCL TV in my room. The sound is okay, but not super loud or clear, and definitely no bass. I had a $100 Sony Soundbar for my last TV and it was good. My computer is in the same room as my new TV and I would like to use this sound system for both, and I would like a Bluetooth connectivity for my phone. I know nothing about sound or amplifiers or DACs or anything, but I see a lot of people saying that bookshelf speakers are better than sound bars for the same price, and I saw some Sony ones for around $100. My price range would be around $100 to $200. I have plenty of room around my TV and fashion is definitely not a problem for me. I would love some help. Thank you!

Currently in the market for a new TV and audio setup, in the UK and combined budget is around £800. It will mainly be used for films/TV and gaming TV min specs 55" 4K 60+Hz Good colour Would nice to have half decent HDR but not a must Had a look at TCL 55C735k looks to be well reviewed and good quality but out of stock in reputable stores. The 55C745k is in stock but costs around £100 more any reputable review sits have reviewed it yet Had a look and probably going to try and find second hand audio stuff to save money. Have looked at Sony HT-g700 but don't know if it's the best option. Don't really have preference for soundbar or normal speakers just whatever is best quality. Any suggestions and help is appreciated.

I currently have a Sonos beam on a 65" Samsung UHD TV in a Loft/Bonus room and I am looking to have a sound bar for my open Family room to pair with my 65" OLED LG. I am open to moving the Sonos and using the new soundbar on either TV. I am aware if I pair Samsung with TV's the sound works in unisen which could be pretty good. I am also aware that the Sonos realm is top tier but becomes quite expensive as you add components to it. I do not have a set budget, I am looking for value. I would use the soundbar for mostly TV/Movies/Gaming. Ideally being as budget friendly and getting the best bang for my buck. I have been suggested Klipsh, Sonos, Samsung. What are your thoughts and suggestions? Also if there are any websites out there similar to Rtings so that I can compare products that I do not require a paid subscription to use, that would be great. Cheers.

Hi all, I am looking into a small subwoofer that would fit under my monitors, however there is some aesthetic considerations... a subwoofer is not allowed. There's no room to hide it and I have to share the office with someone who is against it. (my wife) The setup is a dual monitor hooked up to a laptop that's sitting vertically in a stand on the side. (the current audio comes from the side from a folded up laptop.. so yeah.. not great. I was considering something like the Razer Leviathan v2 x but sadly our audio god Dan has not done a review on that one yet so I thought I would come here and ask for some advice from you guys. Note: this is going to be a work environment so it's not like the audio quality has to be perfect since without a sub, I know that's impossible. But I would still like to buy something that's decent. p.s. RGB is not a requirement, in fact, I would turn it off if it had it.

Hello, I just bought a soundbar to replace my old PC speakers, however i stumbled upon a decision i cannot find a clear answer to. Which would be the best option for output, do I use HDMI to the motherboard, the GPU or should I use the optical cable? Motherboard: AsRock x570 pro4 GPU: Radeon 6650XT I have 2 monitors connected with DP to the GPU. As of now i will plug it with the optical cabel, but will change it if there are any advantages.

Samsung Sound bar Model: HW-Q70R/ZA. It recently has been stuck on TV ARC source and I'm unable to switch the source to anything else via the remote or the buttons on the sound bar. I'm able to power it on and off and it will often say on the display "UPDATE" and then go back to TV ARC. I have attempted working with Samsung tech support which was unsuccessful through their troubleshooting methods. Hard and soft resets did not work. As well as attempting to update the firmware via USB. Ita stuck on the TV ARC source (not producing sound). Which makes me believe it is a circuit board issue. Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.

Hi! My grandparents need a soundbar because the sound on their TV is very poor. We're looking for something around $200. What are your recommendations?

Hi friends, some way I feel LTT got me through this home office phase in corona time without almost going crazy because of loneliness and almost feel like part of the family. And now I hope for the much praised swarm knowledge of this forum. If LTT merch shipping to Europe wouldn't be so crazy expensive due to customs and taxes, I would have ordered some long ago. But then Floatplane will be fetched soon. Anyway, I hope this thread doesn't break any rules! My TV is a Samsung TV from 2012 and although my fingers are itching my wife and I want to wait until it is really broken and yes, that's ok and right, we do not want to produce so much e-waste. But the sound is really shit! Now the video of Linus with soundbars has given me the idea to buy a soundbar. I just do not know which one yet! OR Furthermore, there is also a second generation Alexa Echo in the living room. Now I've seen in the app, you can connect 2 devices together and can then also hear the TV audio on it supporting. One option would be, I could buy a used, additional Echo 2G and interconnect it with the existing Echo 2G in the living room, or I take the Echo Dot 4th generation from the office into the living room and get me an Echo Dot 5th generation and interconnect it with the Echo Dot 4G in the living room. For this, the Echo 2G comes into the office. What do you guys think? Is a soundbar the better solution? We are not audiophiles. We listen to normal music in the living room and on the TV via the Fire TV stick, the common streams. I just find the audio is often played very quietly or incomprehensibly from the TV and in certain frequencies it to squeak (do not know how I can call it better). So we do not need a high-end solution, but rather price-performance balance.

So I have a Samsung QN65Q6FNA TV and a Bose soundbar 500. They were working fine until one day audio output switch to the tv speakers. The option for HDMI output disappeared from the audio options. I checked and the optical out works with the soundbar but I can not control the volume with my Roku or tv remotes when it is connected with the optical cable. Any suggestions?

So I've been having alot of trouble trying to reconnectmy subwoofer to the soundbar. I have the LG SN7R, and it comes with a 33w sub (model no: SPN5B-W). Everything had worked fine up untill yesterday, I came home, and the sub hasn't connected to the soundbar. I have tried a few things, power cycling both the soundbar and sub. Re connecting all of the wireless systems by holding the volume down button for a few seconds, then the mute button for a few after. Another process that you hold the vloume down button and the sound effect button for a few seconds. Seince I'm here then nothing has worked, the LED on the sub will not stop flashing green, apparently it can alternate between red and green, it can be solid red, but all I've seen is flashing green. And seince trying all these things, and the soundbarhas connected fine to the small receiver that controls the rear speakers. I'm lead to imply there's a problem with the sub, so I took the back off and aside for an ungodly ammout of glue I think it is, everything seemed fine and connected properly. But does anyone have anything else i could try? Ive had this setup for 10 months so it's not old. Otherwise I may have to just return it and try to find something similar.

Hey guys, first time posting here so forgive me if i say something that's not allowed. I'm looking for an audio solution for my entertainment area. Currently it's in my room, it's a 4x4 m room, not very big, and the tv is a 43' LG Led tv. In a fewonths i'd be moving to a small apartment that just has one area, aproximately a 6x4 m home, so i'm trying to find something that could fit both. I was looking both at soundbars and home theaters sets. Specifically i was tempted by the LG SN4 that comes with a wireless sub, and for home theater i thought the Z607 from logitech could be pretty good. But i don't know much about audio products outside the headphones line. Do you guys know what would suit better? I just want the best audio i can find at an affordable price, that's compatible with Dolby Atmos. Setting it up is not a problem so i don't consider the simplicity of a soundbar to be a selling point against a full array of HT speakers. I'm open to other options of course, but if posible something that allows the feature of the tv to combine the audio both with it's integrated speakers as well as the audio output device connected via bluetooth or optical. Please help, thanks in advance.

Hello, Looking to add a sound upgrade to the TV in the living room. Don't want to spend too much as the TV was only £800 a number of years ago. TV is about 3.5m away in the middle of the wall. Room is 4x5m. There are plug sockets in each corner so a sound system with satellite speakers would be an option. Would have to be wireless speakers. A very nice to have would be if it has an option to pair 2+ Bluetooth headsets at the same time so we can listen while the little one sleeps. All of the TV smart functions are provided by a shield TV pro. Suggestions please

I just moved my rig out into my living room. Connected everything the way it was prior, and now my soundbar is undetectable regardless of what ports I plug into. It took some finagling the first time I set it up, but I can't seem to get it this time around. I'm running GPU to Monitor via DVI-DVI. I BELIEVE I just had the Monitor connected to the soundbar via HDMI-HDMI. CPU- AMD Ryzen 5 2nd Gen - RYZEN 5 2600 Pinnacle Ridge (Zen+) 6-Core 3.4 GHz GPU- 590 Fatboy Monitor- ASUS Curved Widescreen VA326H 31.5" Full HD 1080p 4ms (GTG) 144Hz HDMI VGA DVI Soundbar- Samsung Q70R Any advice would be appreciated.

So I have a several year old 1080p projector with vga and component inputs. I want to use a sound bar alongside a fire tv stick. What's my best course of action? I have tried using an hdmi splitter at the back to connect one cord to my projector using an hdmi adapter, and a 30ft. hdmi cord running to the front of my room to plug in to the soundbar. I would like to use hdmi as a sound bar input as it provides the best experience. Help Please. Thanks, William Stephenson

I have an eight year old Insignia HDTV, and I'm wondering what sound bar or home theater system I can connect to it if any at all. And if I can connect one, which one do you recommend at a reasonable price?

By surround-sound system I mean for example, 2.1 or 5.1 speaker systems. Are soundbars far behind them in terms of sound quality or are they similar?

Sonos beam suddenly stopped working on my Samsung the frame
Mrjosi posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hello! I have a problem with the sound on my Sonos Beam on my TV. Here is the problem: The sound has been working perfectly well for about 2 years, when suddenly the sound just cut off in the middle of watching a movie and has not worked since. Some info: - I have the Sonos Beam (1st gen) - Samsung The frame 65" QE65LS03RAU (2019) - When I plug in and out the HDMI, the sound works in the menu of the TV. But when i go to netflix/disney+/HBO the sound goes away again. - When I turn the volume up/down the tv registers that it is a receiver that has the sound output. - The sonos beam can play music from the phone. Things I've tried: - Unplug and plug in the HDMI - Tried 3 different HDMI-cables (Including the one that came with the sonos, which was unused) - Unplugging the power of both, waiting 10 sec before plugging them back in. (Has also been done after every other "fix") - Updated the firmware on both the sonos and the tv to the newest available software. Have been searching around, but I could not find a solution.. Some people suggest turning off eArc, but The frame 2019 model does not have that feature. Does anyone have any clue on what this could be?
