Hi. My Xonar U7 sounds perfectly clean when just using the line out for headphones, but when I use the mic input, it's extremely noisy. I've tried using an iFi Defender 3.0 because I thought it was a USB ground loop issue, but the noise still persists. For some strange reason, however, whenever I touch the RCA ports at the back (pictured below) the noise goes away very significantly. I guess I act as a "ground" or whatever when I do that. Would love to hear any suggestions! Thanks!

Greetings, I currently own a hefty Tascam US-1800 as my primary audio interface for production work. However, that's almost permanently hooked up to the setup in the studio, and I was considering adding an audio interface to my build (located elsewhere) for convenience. Initially, I thought I'd go with a smaller USB interface like my 1800, but I don't have a whole lot of space, and am a bit of a sucker for neatness. While I'm aware of sound-cards, I was wondering if anyone might know about an interface that fits in one of your case's 5.25" or 3.5" external drive bays, effectively creating a front-panel audio interface, giving me quicker and easier access to connections and such. I've seen several USB 3.0 hubs that work in this way, fitting into an external drive bay and connecting to a USB 3.0 header on the motherboard. I was curious as to whether there were any audio interfaces or sound cards that functioned similarly, with perhaps a couple of XLR and/or line inputs. Regards, Aereldor.

Hey there, im having this issue for a while and now I finally wanna fix it. My Situation: Whenever I start screen sharing in Discord or MS Teams, my audio loses it completely. In Teams I NEED to have Teams as "active window" or I won't hear anything and in Discord it is as soon as I wanna start sharing the screen or rather the previews. I looked at the task manager and saw the power usage jumps up for teams/discord, which I assume is normal in both cases. Funnily enough I don't have this issue when I play demanding games or VR. ONLY when sharing my screen. When I leave the "Screen Share Selection Window" open for a few seconds it completely kills the audio. (Included screen recording) Quick Information beforehand: - Software: VoiceMeeter Potato (to split game audio, coms and music, issue persists even when its off) - GPU: RTX 3090 24GB (KFA2 Serious Gaming) - PSU: 1200W beQuiet! Dark Power Pro P12 - Audio Card: ASUS XONAR SC150 My headphones are plugged via the sound card. My Question/s: So is this a software issue like bad screen capture implementation? Or is there a hardware issue that needs addressing ? Im not quite sure what else I could write to give more information about it. So if you need something tell me please. Thanks to all of you reading this and sharing your thoughts. ^^ 2021-09-30_22-51-16.mp4

This is for my home surround sound computer, I have a Sound Blaster Audigy Rx internal sound card going to my Marantz dolby atmos receiver using a fiber optic cable. I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to set it up if anyone has any experience with this i'd be more than happy for recommendations. Thanks, MP

My headphones are extremely loud. Currently I have them at 25% volume or so on the headphones themselves and my Windows volume is 32. Apps like Chrome have to be set even lower. In addition to the loud volume, my mic is pretty much dead. I ran through 3 headphones, all of which had the same issues. All of their mics died in a few months. Current headphones: HyperX Cloud Stinger Current Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 HD3P. Would getting USB headphones prevent them from getting damaged by the current? That's what my friend suggested. My PC is 2 years old by the way and I've had these issues ever since I built the PC. What should I do?

Hello, my headphones started making a hissing/chirping sound last night, I decided to move them to the front but it had the same problem, I grabbed a pair of earphones and i heard the same thing. Both of the headphones are connected with jack. I was trying to resolve the issue all night last night. I uninstalled audio drivers, installed them from the MSI official website, the dvd that come with the motherboard too, changed to a newer driver, and then to an older one. Still nothing fixed the issue. I have watched a couple of videos, went on 10 different forums and I can't really explain what the problem is so I can't find an answer. I'm very worried since my PC is brand new, 2-3 months old and I think my sound card is dead. I build it on my own with the help of my dad who has experience. I have a MSI b450 gaming plus mobo. The PC doesn't find any audio problems through troubleshooting a couple of times, people are telling me on discord servers that I should get a usb soundcard and see if that fixes the problem. I don't have an external sound card and I use the integrated one on the mobo, which worked perfectly till last night. I'll stay active so I can reply immedietly, please help, thanks in advance.

I have a Razer Siren Mini but recently installed a SoundBlaster soundcard (spare one that was floating around) into my pc because I purchased new speakers. I want to plug my microphone into the soundcard so that I can make use of the Sound Blaster Connect 2 voice morph (without having to get a separate application/soundboard) Obviously just getting a usb to jack convertor won't power my microphone, so is there an option to be able to connect and power the microphone while using the soundcard? I don't want to purchase a new microphone as this current one is fairly new. Just want to know what my options are and if using this microphone with the soundcard is possible.

What if we could use internal sound cards externally using those pcie ryzer cables.... EDIT: What benefits would be if we do that cause I heard that internal cards are better but they suffer from noise in the PC...

Hi, recently the audio from my headphones along with the microphone stopped working. Instead, I hear a high pitched ring along with some crackling static. The headphones work fine, I've used them with other devices, and I've used other pairs of headphones with the same error. However, the HDMI Audio works fine. My monitor's speakers works and also when I connect the headphones to them. I've disabled, enabled and reinstalled a bunch of drivers, but same error. I've recently had to remove my GPU because of a malfunction, so could it be that I accidentally damaged my motherboard's audio doing so somehow? Is there anything I can try before I pin it to that conclusion, and if it is, what can I do? Buy a sound card? Thanks

Hi, recently my headphones started to malfunction, with the only sound coming from them a high pitched ring accompanied by crackling noises. The mic is also nonfunctional. The headphones themselves work fine, and this happens with any headphones I try. This happens with both the front and back jacks. I've disabled, enabled and reinstalled several drivers to the same end. The HDMI audio works, so i can use the speakers on my monitor. From what I can tell, this started happening after I had to remove a malfunctioning GPU from my PC, so I'm thinking I might have accidentally damaged something doing so. Is there anything I can try right now to fix this? If not, do i require a new sound card and will a cheap one suffice since? Thanks

So I just got a new headphone with mic for gaming, but the mic doesn't record sounds very well. Assuming this is a motherboard issue and not a Windows issue, will it go away if I buy a sound card and plug the headphone in it? In other words, does a dedicated sound card bypass a faulty motherboard's sound card?

I just built a new computer and got a motherboard that had an optical port built into the board. I had my old system hooked up to my a/v receiver and it worked fine. After hooking up my new receiver I can't get 5.1 to work on my a/v receiver. It's only sending a stereo signal. I then hooked up a Xonar GDX and tried the same thing. I can go to the sound settings and configure the system for 5.1 and apply it but it still only sends a stereo signal. I have also updated drivers for the Xonar card. Can anyone help figure out what I'm doing wrong. It's got to be one of those obvious but I have been looking at it for so long I'm getting tunnel vision!

Im looking to buy a new mic because i dont like the mic on my headset. after some searching, i found that the Neewer NW-700 Professional Studio Broadcasting Recording Condenser Microphone Is the best, cheap microphone. Im not familiar with all the audio techy stuff. i want to know what things i will need to buy to get this mic to work properly. Mic kit that im looking at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XOXRTX6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?tag=mt005-20&ie=UTF8&psc=1 On my motherboard there are audio ports so i dont think i need a sound card. Im more concerned about whether i need an audio interface or not and if so which one should i get. keep in mind im looking for cheap i dont want to spend more that $70 which includes the mic kit. i have no clue on whether i have a xlr port on my mobo bc im on my laptop at my dads house but if i find out i will delete this section.

Ok say we have a gym. Say we have a nice speaker setup. Those speakers connect with a big ass Mixer+Equalizer (physical ones) to power em up. Now the input is NOT a cd changer or something like that. The input will be a PC! A budget gaming class PC (sorta 500$, AMD six core, etc.)! (not some high end 2000$ shit) Now we shall be using SPOTIFY because surprisingly the VORBIS quality is very nice (i've had that setup in another gym already once), the music is free and the volume is CONSISTENT. Our country's legal regulations for music royalties do NOT care for the source, we are charged in a different way than in the USA (i'm not 100% sure how you do it over there) but basically i can play from whatever source i want after i get certified. My question is -- will we gain something by using EXTERNAL SOUND CARD after the PC and BEFORE the Mixer+Equalizer (like Xonar U7) ? What i'm looking for is to further refine the source of the sound by having EXTERNAL sound card instead of internal one, and having a good one. I DO KNOW that we're not putting lossless music, yes... but LAST time i had similar setup with exactly U7 and i was very pleased. However also i noted some small lag? when going through the external card... maybe because of USB connection to the PC?

Hello, I am looking for either a sound card or an external dac/amp for my pc. I currently have RHA T20i Black as my IEMs and as my headset I have a Razer Kraken 7.1 V2. I want either a sound card or an external dac/amp to make them sound the best they possibly can, because I am a budget audiophile. I would like to have knobs for bass and gain and stuff, or an eq software for a soundcard, but I dont know which will be better, or what kind. I am looking to spend less than $100. Thank you for helping me! P.S. the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 is a usb headset, so I need to also find an adapter or a dac/amp/sound card that has a usb audio thing. THANK YOU!!!

I'll be getting myself the 990s, I have a slew of questions. Ill be gaming and listening to music on my PC, Mobility is not a concern. Motherboard: Asus Strix Z270G 1) What AMP and DAC Combo should I get for the headphones? is a FiiO EK10k enough? 2) Do I even need a DAC or and AMP is the Motherboard Audio enough? 3) Or should I be getting a Sound Card? 4) Or should i just avoid all this and get the 32ohms version? Is there a difference? (I like to go loud) I am also open to suggestions on other good Headphones. In this price range. My shopping is done from Amazon.in so they tend to have the wonkiest of prices.
