Hi everyone, not very familiar with this platform but I hope I’m doing this right. I got a new desktop from a guy on a buy and sell I was told it was a power supply issue and he just didn’t want it so I picked it up for cheap replaced the psu and everything spun to life however, when I went to plug my monitor in the pc is not posting/ not displaying anything I’ve been missing around with it for a few hours now trying to figure it out but I’m absolutely stumped so I’m hoping so people smarter than me on here could help me out here is what I’ve tried so far 1. I’ve done all the ram checks a man would need plugged it into different dims plugged it into a different pc cleaned them cleaned the dims tried 1 ram stick in all the slots then tried it with the other 3 2. tried unplugging all cords that don’t have anything to do with the motherboard and apart from the cpu fan 3. cleaned the entire board using a dry cloth 4. Made sure the cpu was compatible with the motherboard it is a Asrock H170A-X1 and a Intel i7 7700 everything checks out there 5. Checked the motherboard slot for any bent pins everything looks clear I even used a magnifying glass and good lighting 6. tried resetting the cmos replacing the cmos 2 times and cleaning the cmos port 7. inspected the motherboard for any visual damage ie burns or scratches noticed no damage at all side note: i did get it to boot into bios once while playing around with the ram but it got stuck on the bios screen and didn’t allow me to click anything although the keyboard I was using powered on fine all fans spin like normal. I got it to boot into bios fully last night while plugging out all cords but it didn’t work again after that. I’ve been told by a buddy it’s a motherboard issue and another that it was a cpu issue and another that it was a ram issue however the ram runs fine in another machine and i have no way of testing the motherboard besides the cpu i have now im starting to lose the motivation on trying to fix this guy and I’m but I really don’t think it’s deserving of an ewaste bin if there is any questions I can answer please do ask I’m looking for any suggestions at all

Hello I currently have a Micro ATX motherboard that supports LGA755. I was wondering if a modern Intel CPU cooler would fit the board. Here is the cooler link: https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-i30-CPU-RH-I30-26FK-R1/dp/B07QQXCVVR/ref=asc_df_B07QQXCVVR/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459478253945&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2321323029573942667&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9017437&hvtargid=pla-916122407233&psc=1 It says that it supports LGA1151, etc. I just want to know if that cooler would work with my motherboard. Here is a picture of my Motherboard:

Only 13GB Out Of 16GB Of My Memory Is Usable?!?!?!
Newfie Meltdown posted a topic in Troubleshooting
So a little while ago, I was looking at task manager to check out how my CPU was doing with some mods in some games, and I noticed that some of my ram is being reserved by hardware. But the thing is, it only used to say 94MB hardware reserved and it still left me about 15.9GB which was completely fine, but now it states that 3 whole Gigabytes are being used which has really REALLY been starting to worry me. I tried looking for answers but it's all either go to "msconfig" with (Win + R) and change your boot settings in advanced options which has NOT worked, or it was because someone had malfunctioning sticks of memory. I know it's not my RAM because I tested it in my friends PC and it worked perfectly, so it's something software related. (At least I hope..) So if anyone is able to reach out to me and help figure out what is going on, it would literally mean the world to me!! By the way incase anyone is wondering what memory I'm using, it's G-Skill Trident Z RGB in dual channel. :P -

So i got my hands on a rtx 8000 that doesn't work very well.. I have horizontal green lines across the screen. I went to download drivers to see if it would help, but they would never install. The computer also doesn't even tell me it has a graphics card through the task manager or other apps. Decided to run world of tanks and it's running a smooth 9 fps on the menu. Is there anything I should try or any ideas of what is possibly wrong? Any advice is good advice and thank you in advance!

I recently purchased a 'Dell Optiplex 9010' for around £110 GBP and wasted no time into looking for a replacement for the 'Quadro 600' that came along with it. I've made the decision to buy a '1660ti' (abit overkill, i know) but came to the realisation that the power supply inside the Dell was only '275W' max, power unit. In the past Linus have posted a video doing the exact same build without swapping the power supply but im not sure if it'll be good enough for hefty long term use... So my question is, do I wait till the end of summer break, save a bit more money and invest in both a power supply and a 1660 or am I okay sticking the oem power supply that came with it (at least for a few months) and enjoying the 1660 throughout the duration of summer break..? im making a new pc amongst this pandemic and was wondering if the asus B450M-A micro atx board was a good choice to pair with a 5 3600 amd gpu, the thing is im super new in building with amd and everywhere i read says that this board can't run 3600 without a bios update and that i need and older gpu to even boot up to the BIOS, so is this true? do i need another gpu so i can use my new 3600 or is this an older board problem?, im not planing on overclocking the cpu or the ram or in that case anything, im pairing it with ddr4 3000 and a 1060 , i will really apreciete any comments you can give me, thank you very much.

Hello Everyone. As I said before. i have a GTX 1660XC and im having an issue. I bought a second monitor and its not recognizing something, the monitor says cable not connected. Details: The monitor is working, its a VGA AOC (E2270SWN) monitor. i have tried to use with the VGA cable in a notebook and it works fine. on my pc im using an adaptor VGA to DVI that im cannot test if its the problem, but i doubt it is because its brand new. All my Nvidia drivers are updated and windows is also updated. I have tried to rollback the driver but nothing works anyway. My motherboard is a Asus TUF B360M-Plus Gaming/BR, Intel LGA 1151, mATX, DDR4 And my processor is a Intel Core i5-9400F Coffee Lake, Cache 9MB, 2.9GHz (4.1GHz Max Turbo), LGA 1151, No video - BX80684I59400F Is there anyway to check if the plug in my GPU is working correctly? Can someone help me? THank you.

Okay so i'm on windows 10 and whenever i press the letter G on my keyboard, it always opens up a tab on google chrome. I tried uninstalling chrome thinking it was the app but then when i pressed G again it opened a new tab on internet explorer. If i press g a lot of times it opens multiple tabs. This sucks because whenever i'm playing a game and i press the letter G, it opens up an internet tab and takes me out of my game. Restarted the computer didn't do anything. Please help, this is really annoying.

Here is a link to my entire setup: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Batman808401/saved/JxTK8d All parts are from my old setup which is nearly 6 months old except for the motherboard, CPU, and RAM Here's the problem: As of right now, I'm am using this computer to make this post, however, I am afraid to turn it off. Whenever I turn off my PC, it'll only take minutes of powering off and on and mashing the reset button to get it up and running again. Once it starts, everything seems and feels normal. The weird thing is that I can put my PC to sleep and turn it on again no problem. How I get it working and observations: The first time I power on my PC, it is most likely to fail on successfully booting up so I've sequentially listed how I get my PC up and running like normal starting on unsuccessful boot: FIRST STEP - ON UNSUCCESSFUL BOOT: Case fans and LEDs work, Wraith Spire fan and AMD LED ONLY (not the ring) work, GPU LED and fans work, onboard CPU debugging LED lights up, onboard RAM detection LEDs are on, onboard GPU detection LED is not on, and finally: all other onboard LEDs are off and no display on monitor. SECOND STEP - HALF SUCCESSFUL BOOT: After a period of powering my PC on and off, the previous conditions still apply including no display to the monitor, however, onboard aesthetic LEDs turn on including the Wraith Spire cooler ring LED. This is the point where I start pressing the reset button on my case in 10-second intervals. Also, note that the onboard CPU debug LED is still on at this point. SUCCESSFUL BOOT: Finally, the onboard CPU debug LED turns off and onboard GPU detection LED turns on and monitor detects the source. Everything appears to be working as it should such as LEDs, hardware, etc. Once I'm done using my PC, I power it off like it should be only for me to come back needing to use it again and having to repeat this process for an average of 10 minutes. My conclusion/possible issues: The motherboard is highly unstable as far as detecting the CPU and GPU and not completely powering on, on initial startup. I thought it could be anything else such as the power, CPU, or GPU but is highly unlikely since they are crucial to keep the PC functioning properly and so far, I have not had any crashes or other hardware issues. I can enter sleep mode and power back on successfully. I'm really considering declaring this motherboard DOA and sending it back for a new one but that is the last thing I want to do. What I've tried: Updating BIOS to the latest version: 7A32v15 (see https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X370-GAMING-PRO-CARBON.html#down-bios in Download > BIOS section) Checking for loose cables such as power, case, and fan headers Checking if all parts are secured and connected physically and from the BIOS I haven't tried the reset CMOS button because it is a brand new motherboard and I haven't changed any major settings PLEASE REPLY IF: YOU'RE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH NEWER MOTHERBOARDS WITH AM4 CHIPSETS; ESPECiALLY IF YOU HAVE THE SAME MOTHERBOARD; HAVE SOLUTIONS/TROUBLESHOOTING SUGGESTIONS; ANY OTHER QUESTIONS REGARDING MY SITUATION; IF I MUST MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THIS POST IN FAVOR OF PROFFETIONAL REVIEW AND DOCUMENTATION;

Hey everyone! Around 5 months ago Ive managed to build myself a pc and had 2 problems. On my old motherboard there were 2 sockets One was a Msata socket and the other one was a Mini-Pcie socket (someone on this forum told me that). Also they told me those sockets look identical but have different functions. My ssd was a Msata so I bought an adapter (Msata to sata) on amazon and it works flawlessly. Now I have a Asrock b85 dash/ol motherboard which sadly has neither Msata or mini pcie slots so my question is. Is there anyway I can buy an adapter for this WiFi/Bluetooth card? Thanks in advance you guys.

Ever since the death of my Radeon RX 460 and the entrance of my GEFORCE GTX 1050ti, a select few of my games after ~5 minutes of gameplay started freezing. But, they froze in a weird way that I cant fix or understand. The screen will act normal, but then out of nowhere the screen will stop moving and be stuck on a single frame of the game. The most confusing part is that the game continues to play (I can hear from the audio). For example, in CounterStrike:GlobalOffensive, the screen will be stuck on a frame in game but I can still hear my player run, jump, and shoot. IT EVEN HAPPENS IN THE MENUS. I've tried what seems to be every option to fix this but nothing has worked. I tried... Resetting my computer (But keeping my important files) Uninstalling and Reinstalling all games and Steam Verifying game files Restarting my PC Running Diagnostic checks Physically tearing down my setup to find a solution Updating/installing drivers I've definitely done more but i cant remember what they all are right now... The games that I have played recently that have this problem include CS:GO (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) Rocket League Liftoff (An FPV Drone Flight Simulator) The one that surprised me the most was Liftoff as it is no where near what someone would classify a game as "Graphics Intensive" There are however two games I have played/tested that havent crashed (yet...) The Drone Racing League Simulator (Another FPV Drone SIM) CS:S (Counter-Strike: Source) I am so frustrated that I cant find a solution to this and this is my last option. if anyone can help me that would be AMAZING!!!! My Specs: OS Name: Windows 10 Home Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz, 3001 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB GPU 1 (This one replaced my old AMD GPU): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU 2 (This one came with the PC): Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 If anymore info is needed I can give it... THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So to make a long story short, I RMA my card already and got it back not working. The reason why I RMA my card was because whenever I go into games my screen will glitch out and go black and sometimes come back on depending on what's happening on screen at the time. I have a i7 8700k Asus ROG Strix-H Mobo. Everything is running Stock. I have a Geforce GTX 1080ti gigabyte Gaming OC Black 11G Gigabyte stated they couldn't find anything wrong with the card and sent it back. I filled out their paper work showing what I had for my system and explain my issue. My card works just find when turning on the computer and just using google. But when I get into games My Screen will just go black randomly and sometimes my computer will just Reset for no reason. I tested old drivers and New drivers I put the card in a completely different computer and still the same thing. I have no where else to turn to and I am seeking some help.
