Hello, I need help transferring data from my old SSD to the new SSD. ok so this is my plan: I am going to buy a WD_Black 1TB SSD, and I am going to transfer my data to it. (Bootable data like Windows 10) via an SSD enclosure. Then change the old SSD with the new one. Then format the old SSD. The only problem I have is that I don't know how to transfer data like Windows 10 and other essential bootable software to the new drive. Can anyone help?

I downloaded a JPG file what feels like decades ago now and I've since deleted it a few months ago. The file was used as part of a lockscreen slideshow however and seems to have persisted there despite me having deleted the file, at least it seems as though it's been deleted since I can't find that specific JPG file in any folder. I'm directed nowhere while using the Windows search bar when entering in the only name I knew the file to have been under and I'm hesitant to wipe my entire SSD and rebuild it since I've lost the Windows 10 license key. Other then that there isn't much important that I couldn't redownload though, hoping someone here can give me a faster solution.

Hello, I've never posted on a forum before, so please forgive me if I do something wrong. About a month or so ago, I upgraded my crappy laptop from a hard drive to a solid state drive. At first, it worked fine, but after using it for maybe 3 or so days, my computer began freezing for 5-10 seconds. After doing some googling, I think I narrowed it down to my SSD. I've tried every solution that I could find on the surface level of google. Registry editor, cmd, and the Kingston SSD Manager. I have no idea what's causing this or how to fix it, and if anyone knows what to do, please let me know. Thanks in advance. Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit 8GB ram Intel Core i3-3110M @2.40GHz

I swapped my motherboard today from an Aorus B550 Master to an Asus Strix B550-E, and after moving all of my drives across, only 3 of my 4 drives are detected by the BIOS and Windows. All 4 drives were working earlier today before the swap, I tried swapping the SATA ports for all of the drives and the unresponsive drive still was not detected while the other's were. I can also confirm that the drive is receiving power as I have an indiator light for power and activity for all of my drives. What could be the problem and what steps can I take to fix it?

I was working quietly on my pc when out of nowhere the screen froze and no matter how much I waited, I did absolutely nothing, I decided to manually restart it by the power button of the pc and it threw me a black screen that said ¨Reboot and select proper boot device¨ I looked for information and followed some tutorials, I entered the BIOS to check the boot disks and everything was fine, my pc read both disks, a 1 TB HDD and a 240GB SSD What is my boot disk, I gave it Ctrl, Alt, Del to restart but I kept getting the same message ... what should I do? help I check the cables and everything is well connected, I'm trying to boot the pc from a pendrive to enter cmd, so check diskpart and see if the pc reads the ssd disk or if it has something wrong, after checking, everything was normal, try to run the command ¨Clean¨ to format it and be able to install Windows again but it throws me the error ¨diskpart an error has been found, the request cannot be made due to a device error¨ Apologies in advance in case something is misspelled, my native language is Spanish

Yo LTT Forumners, I built a computer for a co-worker. It had been running assumingely good for a good few months. Last week the boot drive went kaput. Indication of this were windows functions being slow to work in the desktop, so I’m assuming a big part of the problem is the SSD. Furthermore, I reinstalled windows with a USB 3.0 drive in SS USB port and the whole installation just crawled through. I finally got Win 10 Pro. Installed but now it gets hung on MSI’s “Conquer The Battlefield” screen after attempting to boot into windows. HELP pls :)

I have a Hp 240 Gb SSD. I had windows installed and running on that drive, one day automatic disk repair started and I turned my laptop off while that was running, which I regret because afterwards, it just wouldn't boot and show some error. After many failed attempts, I connected that drive using sata to usb to another working pc and found that it was being shown as a nameless "Raw" drive with 240 GB storage. I couldn't quick format it, got error codes, couldn't long format it, got stuck at "99%" twice. But when I try to recover lost data using disk genius, my data becomes accessible (not like I need the data anyway) . So why can I find the lost data but still not format the drive in any way possible? (Drive shows as a "Raw" "Healthy" "223 gb" "blank info" under list disk in Cmd) how do I format the SSD?

Hello. I bought Kingston KC600 several days ago after my previous from ADATA died after almost 5 years of hard work. I like the SSD so far just have a simple question. In Crystal Disk Info I noticed total count of NAND writes and now its above 2.5 TB already. How is it possible? I did not do any heavy data transfer. Will I exceed the limit of this SSD really quick then? Is it normal? Should I panik?

Hello everyone, I'm Ivan. I don't remember when it started, but my OS SSD (C drive) constantly have a 50° Celsius temperature, even with my PC on idle. The other two SSDs have a temperature of 30°. (CrystalDiskInfo photo attached) The OS SSD is mounted below the HDD at the bottom of the case, in front of an intake fan. What should I do? Time to buy an NVME drive? Thank you to who will respond.

ayt first of all, here are my specs Ryzen 5 5600 MSI B550-A Pro Klevv 2x8GB 3200MHz Windows 11 Pro 64-bit Build 22621 PNY CS2140 1TB and CS1031 500GB SSDs So I'm using my PNY SSD M.2 NVME CS2140 in my m.2 slot 1 for PCIe Gen 4 and CS1031 in slot 2 for PCIe Gen 3 The problem is whenever I copy files from my CS2140 to somewhere else (even to its own directory just a different folder), the file transfer speed is limited to 250MBps only While my CS1031 has normal speed when I do the same thing Also i made 2 partition of the CS2140, 500GB for System C and 500GB for Disk D, i dont think its affect it but i kinda sus because it has boot system on C tldr; copying files from CS2140 to CS2140 = 250MBps CS2140 to CS1031 = 250MBps CS1031 to CS2140 = 1.2GBps CS1031 to CS1031 = 700MBps somehow my CS2140 has limited read speed when everything is normal on CrystalDisk Mark (3400MBps Read and 3100MBps Write) Is this because my CS2140 has a faulty hardware or there is an unusual setting I need to do to fix it or there is another issue Thanks in advance

Hi, I use my 850 EVO as my Windows 10 Boot Drive. Randomly turned on my PC and it won't boot windows. It goes straight into BIOS. THE 850 EVO isn't shown in the BIOS. I have tried different cables and ports and no luck. I have tried a USB caddy and plugging it in my Brother's PC and it's won't show. I then connected it straight to the motherboard and loaded into BIOS and the following happens, https://youtu.be/KNBcAse2VFk I was all set to RMA this and cope with losing my data. Yes, I'm one of those idiots who didn't back up. But now that my brother's machine is seeing it somewhat then I have a tiny little piece of hope. Does anyone have any ideas? The plan is to RMA this device but now there's the tiniest bit of hope, I want to see about getting data off the drive before sending it off to Samsung. Tldr: Isn't recognised by my PC. Plugged into my brother's PC and flashes up before going into BIOS but isn't recognised any further.

Right now I have a 1 TB hdd, I will get a new ssd soon, but I have a Dell XPS 8700, upgraded with a GTX 1050 ti. My question is: how do I move windows to my new ssd without screwing Windows up? What I mean by this is my pc didn't come with a windows disk or product key, it was shipped with Windows 8.1, then I upgraded it to Windows 10. My rig: OS: Windows 10 (Windows 8.1 upgraded 2 years ago, ish) 1TB External HDD 840 samsung evo 250gb (empty) 1TB HDD (OS on it) gtx 1050 ti 16gb ddr3 RAM I7 4790 (NOT K)

Hi all, I'm very new to building a computer and all I've done recently was watching Linus and everyone else building a computer, so I have a question. If I just plug my previous hard drive which has windows 7 installed, into my new computer will I still need to install windows again? Also, if windows 7 does appear up is there any sort of way to move my windows 7 onto a ssd? Thank you again, sorry I'm very new to this.

I've been having this problem for awhile now, but it just recently started to bug me. My motherboard doesn't seem to detect my solid state drive as a bootable device But here's the strange part: My motherboard lists the SSD as a plugged in SATA device, as does the F8 Boot Menu. I just can't seem to set it as default. I have included pictures of what I mean. Thanks for any help!

What's the best budget ssd that's fast? I have a really slow 5400 rpm hd its killing me how slow it is. I have been looking around and found 3 decide ssds but before I buy one I decided to get more information. I dont know if I can post links so ill post the name of them from Amazon im looking for a 120 because I want me os and league of legends ADATA Premier SP550 120GB, PNY CS1311 120GB, and Samsung 750 EVO - 120GB. The samsung is what most people will probably say and could easily be the best but its a few models older I assume the price is the most since its the only model at such a low capacity. Any help is gratefully appreciated. I have seen read and write scores the seq and the iop random read and writes the whole thing but i'd like a little bit of information. I simply don't care about write speed I doubt ill ever fill it past like 50 gb I haven't with my 240 gb hd its still at 200 free. Pretty much tell me what you know which ones random read is faster? do you own one? tell me about it. just a basic thread about a good starter ssd for os and small games.

I was just wondering how a single ssd/hdd with preinstalled OS and programs would work across multiple platforms -- mainly in benchmarking, just how the guys at LTT does it. I remember having encountered tons of issues when I tried to do the same back when I was troubleshooting a PC. When you install drivers for one platform, how can you be sure it's still a pretty much "clean" instance of the OS when you put it in another platform?
