Been wanting to upgrade my smartwatch game. As I have an S23+ a galaxy watch would be best suited and I've eyed the 5 Pro, mostly due to the titanium build and longest battery out of them all. Debate however is if I should get it now or wait for the 7th generation to launch in August if patterns are true. That's 2 whole generations of progress so is the 4 month wait is worth it maybe?

So I know the phone that I'd like to get is the Samsung Galaxy S23 or S22, but I'd also appreciate having a smartwatch as well, just for the health stuff that comes with it. As great as the phone is, having the watch always be there would help to keep a more accurate step tracking, sleep tracking, etc. I have chosen a high-end phone, but I don't want a super high-end watch. Only something that'd be compatible with it and that could use the Samsung Health app. I do plan to try and save a bit of money by waiting for Tech Monday/Black Friday to buy it. Do you have any recommendations?

Just wondering if we've reached a point where any SmartWatch offers health monitoring options that can justify it's purchase to an average healthy adult? If not when do you think this might become the case? I ask because I've seen recommendations for the Apple Watch that cite it's EKG feature detecting heart attacks and it's fall detection feature helping call for help when needed. Similarly I've also seen new articles about these kinds of smart watches helping predict Covid cases days in advance. The primary purpose would be things like flagging any health issues I may want to discuss with a doctor. Price isn't really an issue because even $1-2k is nothing compared to a doctor's visit.

Hello, I'm looking for a smartwatch for my grandma and I'm not so familiar with the smartwatch brands. So can you please recommend to me by considering features they should have: Its interface has to be simple, It has to be waterproof, It should be able to count steps and measure pulse and Its battery life should be relatively long. I'm waiting for your suggestions, thanks from now.

Hello, I'm ready to replace my pebble time 2. The features I'm looking for are: - multi-day battery life - always on display - Smart alarm, pebble as a feature that you set the wake up time and in a 30mn window pebble will wake you up at the point of lightest sleep. - Receive notifications - screen backlight (the one on my pebble just die and it is really important) - (google) calendar view, so that I can see next appointemnt (I basically really want a pebble ) I'm wondering if anyone has a good suggestion for a replacement. Thanks

As the title implies I am currently looking for a smartwatch. As most of the people around me have started wearing smartwatches, I found a new interest in wanting to have one as well. Looking at all the variety that is out there it is hard to decide which is the best my case specifically, especially since I only recently really got into computers and tech related stuff, so still being on the learning curve of things. I basically want a smartwatch, that can run basic apps like music, display my messages, maybe take calls from it instead of having to pick up my phone, calender and that kind of stuff. The apple watch for example has all the functions that I would love to have for a smartwatch. However seeing as this doesn't work on android, I am looking for a good android smartwatch that has the same functionality. In case this makes a difference I am currently using a Samsung S8 as main phone, with a secondary Moto Z3 Play, the smartwatch will probably only be used along with my S8 and not the Z3. I am looking into possibly getting a newer Samsung phone in the future, so no going back to apple for me on this front. The max I am willing to pay for a smartwatch is up to €300,- ($370). I hope you guys can help me, as I have just been aimlessly looking at different smartwatches,w ithout really knowing what I need and I am looking for. Thanks in advance. P.S. if this is the wrong place to post this I would love to hear it and I will remove it and move it to the appropriate forum.

Hi guys. First things first, I absolutely can't believe I've been watching LTT for probably the same time I've owned this damn watch, or even before that, and I've never used the forum. I'm sure I'm posting this on the wrong place in the forum, but, again, I'm new. This watch has been through all of my smartphones, from my original sony ericsson live with walkman, to my current galaxy A7 (2018). However, I'd stopped using it due to a broken wristband. I just bought a galaxy fit 2, but that's just a fitness band to me. Doesn't have the same classiness that my original Sony watch i own has :) Now, I've picked up new wristbands for like 2€ in aliexpress and I'd like to keep using it. The thing is, with Sony dropping support since idk how long and the app not even showing up on the Google Play store anymore, I've been having a hard time setting it up. I've downloaded the apk for the Sony smartwatch 2 App directly from the Sony page for it and I've used the Aptoide app store to download a few apps for it, like calendar and notification passthrough, but I can't seem to get it anywhere close to working on it and I'd really like to because, again, i really like this watch. Can anyone help me? Pretty please? I'd hate to just bench this little boi. Thank you

Is Galaxy Watch Active series doesn't get recognized/isn't a thing in west country? Lately I have been looking for smartwatch, so obviously I'm watching LTT, MKBHD, etc (someone who at least has a decent level of credibility, which most I know are US based) for recommendation. In shortcircuit video, unboxing apple watch 6, Linus basically says that Apple Watch 5 and 6 are the only top brand with always on display. But galaxy watch active from the first one already have AOD. So I try to look a review on that device, but there's non from a recognizable youtuber. Which I think it's weird especially for mobile device youtuber. Even unbox therapy (which personally I think isn't credible) doesn't post any video about these watch series. So what's the deal here? *sorry for bad english

So I've noticed that Linus and a lot of other Youtubers seem to use the Apple Watch as their main smartwatch. I had the original Apple Watch back when I had my iPhone 6S, and absolutely loved it. I got a Samsung Galaxy S8 after that, and loved the phone and Android experience. I now have a Samsung Note 10+, in my opinion the best looking phone of its generation, and I love it and don't want to change. I pair it with the Fossil Q (WearOS) smartwatch, and whilst I like it enough to use it, I don't love it as I did the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch is definitely the biggest thing that I miss about having an Apple phone. My question is: Just how limited is Apple Watch functionality if you're not paired with an iPhone, and why do Linus/other tech reviewers use Apple Watch when they daily drive Android phones? I'm almost tempted to go iPhone 12 Pro Max at this point, but I know I'll regret getting rid of the Note 10+. Cheers Rhys

So Samsung released the Watch5 series on August 26th, and I have placed my order for one as there appears to be some delays getting them. If you already purchased one and have or have not received your watch, I'd just like to know your thoughts! What version did you go with? Were there delays in your area? If you received it, how are you liking it? Thanks!

I've been tracking my fitness lately using the Samsung health app and I am trying to find a relatively inexpensive, hopefully less than $150ish, smartwatch to help me track my workouts without having to keep my phone on me. Any advice??

I have been thinking about buying a smartwatch for years. I use Android and do not want an apple watch even thought they are the best ones out. I just have never been able to justify the price of a smartwatch. On TechQuicke about the new Samsung watches it was mentioned that used wearables are really cheap. Why is that, because a quick ebay search had a ton of Samsung watch 4s for sub $75 (US). That is low enough that I can justify taking a shot on one. I just am surprised about the huge price drop. Are there issues with used wearables I don't know if?

Buying one for my 25yo daughter Her phone is an Samsung A52s Shes quite fit, likes to exercise but seldom goes out Non-negotiable requirements Is a watch, not a fitness band Can be used/paired with her phone without substantial loss of functionality Under $300. Budget will not be increased. Not buying her a new phone Will last at least one whole week of regular use in between charges Heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep monitoring No subscription required to access features (Fitbit I'm looking at you) unless its one of those things that I dont care for Great to have ECG Wifi Altimeter Work out profiles, activity detection Stress tracking Calorie burn tracking Whatever else it can track that applies to most people High screen coverage (less useless bezels) regardless of analog or digital watchface Alarm for waking up during favorable sleep stage Phone notifications when paired Viewing SMS and messages from popular apps when paired Phone music control Elegant look Dont care for GPS Maps Contactless payment Games Cell service (she will rely on phone) Onboard music storage Voice commands/assistant I have found the Garmin Venu SQ 2 and Withings Scanwatch Looking for more suggestions If you know of good alternatives, do let me know and what makes it stand out If it does not meet the non-negotiable requirements, the suggestion will be dropped Thanks

A while ago I was listening to the WAN show and remember hearing about a collaboration with a university falling through. I'm a PhD student researcher and was wondering if there was any interest for more potential university collaborations especially at the lab is currently being built and LTT is taking a much more scientific approach to consumer products. Because if there is a possibility, I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!!!!! But seriously, I'm really hoping there is a possibility for more university collaboration and publications.

Linus may have answered this already, last thing I remember is him saying he still prefers apple watch even with android. I'm looking for a watch that mainly tracks some "basic" health things like heart rate, sleep, and steps taken (doesn't have to be accurate for steps, just a general idea). I don't care too much about accessing texts and other things connected to my phone. Any suggestions for some smart watches for android or is the apple watch still the best?

Hello Everyone, I have been saving up to get a smartwatch and Xiaomi released Mi Watch (basically a great Apple Watch Clone) in Nov 2019, that is exactly what i wanted but it hasn't released outside China yet and I am fed up waiting for it. What I am looking for is: More Tech oriented than Fitness. Amoled Screen Something ~$200 Available/ Deliverable in India Wear OS Preferably Square Google Assistant Built-in Works on Android I have looking for something but its either more fitness oriented in this price range or are like $50 ones that won't give a good experience. The alternatives that i have till now is Amazfit GTS https://en.amazfit.com/gts.html. Please suggest me something that is well enough or if its some watch that you have been using please share your experience with it. You can have look at Mi Watch here: https://youtu.be/KuOkGP15pDo.

Ok looking at replacing my now very old LG G watch W-100 due to failing battery from age and lack of support for WearOS 1.x today. (had the hacked 2.x on it but reverted cause of lag and battery drain) But I was wondering if there is a more advanced media control app (or player/watch app combo) out there that can do more then simple play/pause and next/back for locally stored music on the phone. I.E. Transport bar control and access to things like changing artist/albums, play list and so on. and if so what OS are they for? Like Wear OS, Tinzen, Fitbit etc

So i want to get a new smart watch since the gear fit isn't supported by the app anymore and i don't want to spend a fortune on one. Both the Samsung Gear Live and the Sony Smartwatch 3 have mainly the same specs and are in same price range but the charger on the SGL tends to break easily and i've heard that the SS3 has a bad display and i'm confused.Any advice is welcome, please tell me if you've had any experience with any of those.

Hello, I am trying to connect my Samsung Gear 2 Neo to my Android marshmallow 6.0.1 phone, but the Gear App within the Play Store is not detecting the watch at all. I can connect the watch to my phone's bluetooth but that only acts as a phone pass through. Thanks, Zack
