My plan is to condense my existing PC into a small form factor to fit into the LTT Backpack for easy airplane carry-on transporting. This will be my first small build. I usually build in mid-towers just for the extra space when trying to fit things in without having to consider space constraints. I'm working with a Ryzen 3800x and EVGA 3080 FTW3 ultra gaming. I'm planning to buy a mini-ITX motherboard. I assume finding one that is AM4 won't be a problem. I will also need a small power supply, any recommendations for either of those are appreciated. What I'm really worried about is finding a case that fits all of these into a small enough package to fit comfortably into the backpack with all of the travel accessories that usually accompany anyone traveling along with a monitor and keyboard. The will monitor probably be the biggest issue, how long until the folding ones are travel/gaming focused? Has anyone else done anything like this? If not it would be a cool video idea.

Hi, Does anyone know of any small form factor ATX cases that can take two triple slot RTX 3090s. Ideally I would like the case to have a handle so I can take it with me to LAN parties. Thanks.

Hello everybody, here I share my latest little side project: the second custom smallest raspberry pi desktop mini tower case. Here if you want the STL 3D model and support me https://frankart.gumroad.com/l/BhhJe -Modelled and design it using Moi3D. -Prusa 3mks as the 3D printer. -White PLA filament. -Raspberry Pi 4b+ 8gb. -I2C OLED 0.96 Inch OLED Display. -Micro SD Card 32 Gb. -Black Ice Tower cooler. -Noctua thermal paste. -Wire Loom Braided Wire Sleeve PET Braided. -1mm thick Plexiglass panel. -M3 screws + M3 square nuts for the overall assembly. The challenge for this little project was to put the motherboard vertically in manner to make it looks like a traditional ATX desktop tower without compromise the functionality, the design and the minimalistic aspect. For the mini OLED Display I use this post as reference to modify the Python File https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=308968 . The code allow to Display the local IP, CPU frequency and temperature, Memory and Disk usage. Hope you like it cheers

I have a ACEPC AK2 small computer and the fan works, but the terminal to the motherboard is destroyed. The entire terminal ripped of taking some of the pcb with it. Is there any where on the board that I could run some wires to get enough power to power the fan? I thought that maybe if I run some wires directly to the barrel connector, but I don't know if that will work. But if anyone knows of another way to power the fan I am all ears.

QWell this may sound stupid but I would like to try it, So I was thinking of building a pc but my dad wants it to be portable so I tought of the bright I Dea to build it in a backpack like with the pc water cooled with radiators on the outside and the battery low and close to the back (cause ergonomics) but what battery should I use? It should be able to stay on for maybe 4 hours. That's really the only problem I have, I already tought about the pc itself, I can put it in a console case that ltt used on a stream. Also how much would it weigh Ps; yes I know laptops exist but this is an experimental thing that I would like to try out

Hey everyone! I have saved enough money to buy myself a new PC but don‘t quite know what and how. I want a small mini ITX PC with either an RTX 2080 or GTX 1080 ti and a good cpu preferably from Intel. I need it to be portable since my parents are divorced and I want to take from house to house. I have never built a PC. I know thermals are an issue with these small PCs and I don‘t quite know if an RTX 2080 makes sense in such a small pc. Any ideas what I should go for? Are there any guides/tutorials since the last thing I want is to mess it up? My max budget is 1600€ (keep in mind that rtx 2080 is around 620€ in EU). Thanks in advance!

Hello, I'm currently using a iMac 5k to game, and to say short it's an interesting experience. I'm more or less just uncomfortable gaming with it as Apple had recently replaced the computer due to some power failure, then logic board failure. I dual boot it on windows, use Mac Fans Control and make the thing go ham. It screams really loud, but it doesn't bother me as I have headphones in; this is just concerning. I'm looking for a really strong small factor form PC that I can take traveling, like flying to college, etc. I've seen the corsair one, looks pretty good; however, I want to keep my options open, do you guys have any pre-built pc's like it? Also, if I were to build my own, what would be the ideal build? I would prefer liquid cooling, and a somewhat powerful GPU. Budget: $1k - 2.5k.

Hello guys, I'm coming her for your suggestions about a PC I want to build for a family member. I'm searching to build a PC, with the main characteristic is the small size. It must be a little quiet (not making the noise of a airplane landing while idle ). The goal is to use it for tasks like web surfing, word documents, media consumption... But it should be able to do slight video editing when needed. After a little research I believe the best option for the form factor is mini-ITX, and for the processor maybe a first or second gen ryzen 3 (ryzen 1600AF ?) with a small graphics card or a ryzen 3 2200G with integrated graphics... For storage a little sata SSD and a 1TO HDD. The thing is I've only build in mid/large towers so I'm afraid of the complexity of the build... And for the other parts (Case, PSU, cpu cooler...) I cant find a reliable source of good info for directions... So to sum everything up, I'm searching for an easy to build, small for factor PC, not too loud and not too powerful (but with a little punch if needed)... I'll love to hear advice and critics from you guys ! Have a nice day

Hey guys, I'd like to ask for some advice. Lately I've gotten 2 second hand old pcs, both not very high-end though I'd like to use it as a htpc/server box (for example for minecraft) though I'm unsure if the hardware I have available will be strong enough. Here's the list: PC 1: ram: 2GB ddr2 gpu: geforce gt 310 cpu: still have to check, but i think it's a pentium PC 2: ram: 2GB ddr2 gpu: geforce 7900s cpu: core 2 duo e6400 ill probably use the core 2, though im not sure which gpu to use. Aside from these things I have everything else. Thanks in advance!

Please bear in mind i already have a Tower pc that has i7-4790k 32gb ram 1000w psu r9 290x and ssd and like 8tb of hdd all of the components are watercooled. And no i dont want to tear this build apart and take some components with me or just put them into small case. The play now and all i want without future-proofing: CPU: AMD A10-7890k black edition with wraith cooler 156e ( i have on my hands also CM Seidon 120m that can be used but now with this case) Motherboard: MSI A88XI AC V2 ( I NEED wifi in the mobo ) 93e Case: SilverStone ML05B Milo ( small case that doesnt allow a graphics card but is ULTRA SMALL) 57e PSU: Zalman ZM350-FX 350w SFX power suply 43e RAM: Geil Ram 16gb 1833ghz (already have) 0e Drives: Samsung Evo Pro 500gb SSD (already have) 0e Total cost: 350e The spend all my budget but can be easily upgraded (with gpu) later into beast PC after i am back: CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k 260e Motherboard: Asus maximux VI impact 100e Case: Cooler Master Elite 110 40e PSU: Corsair CX430M 52e RAM: Geil Ram 16gb 1833ghz (already have) Drives: Samsung Evo Pro 500gb SSD (already have) Total cost: 452e When it comes to mouse, keyboard and headphones i got Steelseries sensei wireless, Steelseries siberia and epic wireless keyboard which i am taking with me so you could say it will be "couch gaming" but fps style. When it comes to monitor i am not still decided i was wondering if buying the portable ASUS MB169B+ which is a 15.6" portable monitor powered through USB. Hi everyone! We're a bunch of year 12 students at a school in Sweden doing an examination project consisting of building a small pc into an old Nintendo Entertainment System at a minimal cost. We're doing this to show that reusing parts isn't really that hard and that it can actually be quite fun. Some of the work we're doing is really quite overkill, like making CAD models of every single part in SolidWorks, but still with a ghettomod felling to make it more accessible to people wanting to build interesting projects with old hardware. As a part of it actually being a school project, we can work with the project in school and with school utilities (like a ballin' 3d printer) and old laptops and other computer hardware not in use at the school. So, as to the actual questions, we're wondering if anyone has had any experience building in an NES chassi or the like? We would also like to know if anyone has any tips at all regarding the form factor and putting laptop harware in another chassi. Lastly this is what we would like to achieve with this project: fully functional computer in an NES chassi fully functional gamepad connectors via arduino blueprints and plans for the project minimal modding to the outside of the NES more to come as we find interesting stuff to add to the project Best regards A group of swedish technology students

I will be going to college in the fall away from my home town of Albuquerque, New Mexico and I thinking about building a small, steam box like PC to take with me. I am in need of something to game on at college, but have not decided whether or not to build a small PC or just buy a gaming laptop. I think it might be too much of a hassle to transport a monitor and PC equipment every time I want to come home for an extended period of time. Let me know if you have any advice regarding this decision. I will be using it for 1080p gaming and some light editing and CAD software, and my budget is $1000 to $1250 including the os. Regarding the Mini ITX build though, here is my list of parts: Case: Silverstone Raven RVZ01 Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87N-WIFI RAM - Kingston Black 8gb (2x4gb) 1600 CPU: Intel i5 4670k CPU Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC90LS, probably going to change to something better - only have 83mm of space GPU: an aftermarket gtx760 is probable, not sure which one yet though PSU: Silverstone Gold 450w SFX power supply - The psu has to SFX sized to fit in the case Storage: 120gb Samsung 840 evo - 1tb WD caviar blue http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2YTIZ What do you guys think of this build as a small form factor PC that I could take to college?

Hi, I am planing to build a small pc like a steam machine, (size matters) for as cheep as possible. I want to to be able to runs some games like TF2, CS:GO and those types of games. my budget is very small (AUD$200) but I do have a lot of spear parts, just not cpu's and motherboards (ram, graphics, ssd, hdd, power supply ect) my problem that I am facing is this; do I get a motherboard with a fution apu on it like this one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gigabyte-Ultra-Durable-4-Classic-GA-E350N-WIN8-AMD-A45-FCH-Mini-ITX-Motherboard-/271241899167?pt=Motherboards&hash=item3f2746ec9f&_uhb=1 which is cheep and I can spend money else were or do I go and get a motherboard and cpu witch is more expensive. for both options I will be putting in 8 gb of ram and a nvidia 650. any help is welcome, thanks
