My gaming PC has been gradually slowing down to a crawl since January and I have not been able to determine a root cause. It will crap out at around 32GB of RAM usage and be at about 35% of the CPU load then on average. Restarting the PC temporarily fixes it. Some programs and games can take a long time to load and have had crashes to desktop. Common programs with high RAM usage include Firefox, Backblaze, Steam, and Bitdefender. No malware has been detected. I have had a few BSOD crashes over the past month, but I'm not sure if any are directly related to the problem. Hardware info is below. I have a Corsair RM850x 850watt 80+Gold power supply.

Hey guys, TLDR; upgraded from AM4 to AM5 with no other changes, got crappy performance and excruciating boot times. Please help. I just upgraded my Windows 10 desktop from a Ryzen 5700x on an Asus Rog Strix x570 gaming mobo, to a new 7950x and an MSI Mag x670e tomahawk motherboard, and it's been rough going since then. The windows boot process takes 18 minutes, no exaggeration. There is over a minute of BIOS time every boot, too, which is long but not my main concern with the windows boot taking so long. Once we finally get into the OS, everything stutters a couple times a second at random intervals. Task manager shows CPU usage spiking randomly to 80+ on random cores the entire time the system is running. I did not do any prep before swapping the mobo/CPU - no SysPrep or anything - but I already activated a new Windows product key. The system seems to run normally aside from the constant stuttering - no major errors, all drivers and devices look good, etc.. I already ran the typical SFC scan, chkdsk, Dism restorehealth command... I am out of ideas. Please let me know if you've heard of anything like this or have fixed this before. Any shot-in-the-dark ideas are welcome, too. Hey guys, I'm in desperate need for help! Here's my issue: I recently build my new pc, but since the beginning whenever I boot my PC it gets super slow in a matter of minutes. After a while I figured out it's the SSD that slows down (from 3.3 GB/s to 55mb/s) and the computer becomes pretty much unusable. The first thing I tried was doing a fresh install of windows, but the problem remained. Then I tried swapping the SSD for a new one, I went from a Lexar NM610PRO 2TB (3.3 GB/s) to a Netac NV7000 (7.5 GB/s) but the problem persisted. Third thing I tried was trying a new motherboard, but even with that the problem persisted. At this point I tried testing the RAMs, but after doing a memtest I got 0 issues. I did a stress test on the CPU and it got good results. I tried removing the video card but it didn't help. I tried every software fix I found on the internet and nothing worked. At this point I tried installing Ubuntu but even there the SSD doesn't perform how it should, it's very slow. At this point I think the problem is definitely hardware based or at the BIOS level, am I right? EDIT: I should mention I tried LatencyMon and it suggested trying disabling CPU throttling. This is my pc build: Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M Gaming X AX CPU: Amd Ryzen 7700x RAM: Adata 32Gb (2X16) DDR5 6000Mhz GPU: Nvidia 3080ti AIO: MSI MAG Coreliquid C280 SSD: Netac NV7000 2TB PSU: Corsair RM750 80+ Gold CASE: Raijintek Paean M Windows 11 Dual 4k monitor setup. Thanks to anyone who will attempt helping me. I'm quite desperate since I've been trying to fix this for the last two months.

Hello, after one and a half years with this problems and applying every single YT video Fix. I came across Linus channel and this Forum, so here I'm going to describe my problem. Specs at the end. so when i first got this Pc everything was running smoothly, startu-up would take 40s to 1 min and woul be ready to use after 30 secs of warm up. naturally I started instaling programs and everything worked just fine. I even got up to 50% of my disk full of textures and 3d scenes, programs and one or two games occupaing 90 GB at max. yet everything was working fine until one windows update around 2020 (I dont remember which one but Probably one related to power shell, since i saw people on the internet complaining about their computer being slow after a power shell update) my startup became one compared to a potato PC from 2004 trying to boot win 11 from a 20GB 2002 HDD. this are the times I Chronometered. Motherboard screen 30s black screen with spinning dots 40s Windows "please wait" screen 40s - 1' 30s depending on the day welcome screen takes 10s to show up my user name and password input box and 30s to enter windows and after that it takes 1 min to load tool bar icons and quick access. then i have to wait up to 3 min for apps like browser to stop being laggy or getting freezee or crash. so after only after my 6 - 8 minutes wait I can actually start using the computer.and most apps take 20s or so to open. Again, this started suddenly and It's been a year and half dealing with this. I had some urgencies I couldn't respond thanks to this stupid load times. I'm pretty sure this is a Windows issue but i have no idea how to fix, solve or throubleshoot at all. I've tried every tip on internet and YT to speed up boot times. right now i have turn off every single startup app, updated every single driver (some manually) and also the Bios (which was one of the most frightening experiences in my life) BTW, recently I intaled Linux, so I can respond to some urgencies more quickly, and it's amazing, It literally boots in 30 secs and all apps are avaliable inmediatly. So I hope you can help me. PD: i feel like installing fresh windows is a last resource Specs - 3,5 years old Pc. all drivers updated Windows 10 pro 64 bit MSI H270 GAMING M3 (latest Bios) Intel Core i5 7400 @ 3.00GHz 2x8GB Mixed Ram (Kingston and HyperX) both 1066Mhz DDR4 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-08WN4A0 ThermalTake TR2 series 600W English is not my first language, so if anything is unclear just ask

Hi! (pardon the very long story, i was just maybe hoping that someome has another solution to my problem compared to what I'm asking for, but if you're not interested, you can skip the very long paragraph HAHA) I recently upgraded to an SSD for my laptop ( my laptop is the hp omen 15 2018; ssd is the kingston sa2000m8250g, though it was only 240GB because it was a bit of a rushed purchase) because my harddrive was starting to fail. Unfortunately, I didn't do my research properly and due to some circumstances, I kinda bloated it, and it got to around just having 40GB of free space, and since then, the only game I played (destiny 2) started running badly. Initially, it was doing really great, I had it on medium settings which was more than what i could ask for considering my hardware, but after installing something for school, the game suddenly started slowing down and being unresponsive at prolonged sessions with higher settings, now it barely runs at the lowest settings. One solution I've tried today was to increase the RAM because while playing destiny, my memory usage was always at around the 95%. so my friend and my dad suggested I tried increasing the ram, and since it was a simpler option compared to switching out the ssd (which I think is the source of the problem). But then I tried it, and I would still encounter the problems. Does anyone have any other solutions except for switching out the ssd? (it's also my boot drive rn) Now, here I am shopping for SSDs and a lot of the googling I've done has been telling me to not go with dram-less drives. but then i can't really tell the difference. One of the ssds I've been looking at is the CORSAIR Force MP510 NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 SSD and it apparently has a "HIGH-DENSITY 3D TLC NAND" that "provides the ideal mix of performance, endurance and value to keep your drive performing at its best for years". Does the TLC NAND mean that it is not DRAM-less?? if not, does anyone have other suggestions for ssds with a dram, that's on the cheaper side? Thank you for coming to my ted talk

My pc used to run relatively fast. Its 11 years old and It runs slower than like every pc. But It has gotten super slow recently. My fps in games went from 100 on low settings down to 12-25 on low settings. I never have anything open in the background. I have tried ddu 3 times. I have reinstalled windows, replaced the hard drive, and upgraded ram. What could possibly be the problem. Its also taking longer on startup.

Hey guys I wanted to migrate from a 10 year old HDD to a M.2 SSD due to severe performance reasons and I increased the installed 4GB of memory to 8GB (running in dual channel) The ssd I use is a SSD which I had in my gaming laptop for a 1.5years (I upgraded to a bigger one), I scanned it and there were no problems (like bad sectors) 2 Years ago, I upgraded the PC in talks from a old Medion prebuilt and put in a new mother board, cpu and ram My specs are: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G AMD AM4 ASROCK X370 Pro 4 2x4GB Crucial RAM CT4G4DFS824A 4GB DDR4 2400 MHz Stock Cooler 350W PSU (still from prebuilt) Crucial P1 500GB CT500P1SSD8 My problem in detail is: When I wanted to install Windows it would let me install it to like 45% at copying data (and it was extremely slow, like 45mins just for that), then it would fail with the following error message (windows install failed, can't find required files) My solution to this was to put the SSD into the gaming laptop with a m.2 slot, it installed and ran windows just fine (and no performance issues there), this would let me to believe, that the SSD is NOT the problem. AFTER the fresh windows install, the PC is getting stuck on boot. I was able to solve this by updating the bios from the oldest version (4.5) to the latest (6.4) (I had to to update to 5.1 first to be able to update to 6.4, but I don't think that matters) At this point I got windows to boot, but it was extremely slow, besides it running on a SSD. I checked Taskmanager and noticed that the SSD is running on 100% all the time and I got SSD response times of often more 18000ms (this was not happening on the laptop). After that I left the PC running and thought it was just because of the fresh install and it needs to configure some things and such. After I came back like 30mins later windows crashed and froze, a picture of the bluescreen is in the attached files (as well as a translated version) It stated it was a MEMORY MANAGEMENT error, and so I switched out the old 4GB memory stick and started it with the new one. no difference. This leaves me very clueless I thought the performance issues came from the old HDD but it seems like it is some kind of system error The only thing that is still from the prebuilt, is the PSU, but it ran just fine the last 2 years. Thx for your Help!

Hi guys, my GF has this laptop Acer Nitro 5 an515-43. Its and AMD model with nVidia graphics chip. She asked me if i can make is faster. Everything takes few seconds, sometimes minutes to open. Im talking MS word for example taking 2 minutes to fully open. Games were running slow too. When i looked into task manager i saw Avast taking up most of the resources. The disk was always at 100% (thats not normal, right?). I uninstalled Avast Antivirus and removed some apps from running at the startup. This helped a little but not enough. So i tried installing PopOS (GF is ok with that. She mostly just plays Minecraft and does office stuff). Its better but i think the performance should be somewhere else. Minecraft is playable with 4chunks of render distance, Warthunder on Medium settings. I saw videos of people playing GTA V. I cant imagine her laptop running so well. The wait for the apps to open is the most annoying. Is there anything i can do to fix that??? She said i can do anything except opening it (says that would void the warranty). Thank you for reading.

Hi everyone, My relatively new pc is really slow. I have realised how slow it is since day one. I've been using my pc for about 9 months now and there is no reason for it to be slow. It is a mid-range gaming pc. It is so slow that I use my 2017 MacBook Air to do simple stuff such as searching stuff on web, discord, even basic school work. I re-installed Windows back in January and nothing changed since. It is virus free. I disabled all of the background programs. I use Windows 10 Pro (unactivated) x64. Everything related to bios and drivers are up to date. My parts are: Intel Core i5-9600KF 3.7 (not overclocked) Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition Asus PRIME Z390-A G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 (not overclocked) Western Digital Blue 250 GB Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2 Asus GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB TURBO NZXT H500 ATX Mid Tower Case Corsair RMx (2018) 550 W 80+ Gold Certified If you have anything to say, my Discord is UtkuBaba#0999. Please help me with this problem, thanks.

After some benchmarks, I found something unusual. My benchmarks were much lower than before, the benchmark was done on a clean boot. After a clean boot, (and waiting for startup programs) Task manager says 2 out of 4gb ram is used up amd 30 to 40% of my cpu is used. But in the processes tab, the processes barely use 5%. It feels like someone is mining on my laptop without my permission. Thanks.

about 2 days ago I decided to get rid of my 2nd generation Ryzen and I bought a Ryzen 3600 to fill its place, I updated the motherboard bios and installed the CPU, first time starting up took some time but I figured this was normal since I just put in a new CPU, sadly it keeps starting up very slowly. When the PC is booted everything works fine, temps are normal and nothing seems to be wrong. this is what happens when I press the power button : 1: the pc lights up, but the fans ramp up for a second and then calm down. 2: The monitor starts but then says it hasn't got a signal and goes back to sleeping mode. 3: for around 90 seconds this keeps happening about 3 times, with every time an EZ Dbug light showing (Ram, CPU or VGA) 4: finally the pc starts to boot up normally, the monitor receives a signal and no EZ Dbug lights are showing and everything seems to be working fine. my startup times are now around 2 minutes, with a bios time of 22 seconds according to task manager. this used to be around 12 seconds. So my question is what causes it to have such a long startup time? it has to be something with the CPU because that's the only thing that changed, But then I have no idea how it could function normally when it is booted. My systems components: CPU: Ryzen 3600 GPU: Aorus RTX 2080 Xtreme Motherboard: MSI b450m mortar titanium PSU: Corsair CX650 Ram: (2x8GB) Crucial Ballistix Sport Lt 3000Mhz SSD: 256GB Samsung 970 Evo HDD: 1TB WD Blue CPU Cooler: Cooler Master ML240L RGB CASE: Corsair 280x Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I recently ordered an ROG Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) and a Core i9-9900KS I'm reusing my 32gb of DDR4 3200 ram which are Corsair CMU32GX4M2C3200C16 sticks and my GeForce GTX1080. I have a fresh Windows 10 install on an NVME (Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB) and most of my demanding games are on either a 250gb SSD or a 1tb SSD while my less demanding games are on a Hybdrid 2TB drive I also have an 8TB and a 4TB drive where I store my video projects. Before getting the motherboard and cpu, my system was "snappy", no real issues other than when I wanted to stream newer titles, my CPU would constantly be at 100% use and the stream would become very choppy, I decided to try and grab a 9900KS to remedy this issue, but despite this being a fresh install, whenever I attempt to boot up anything on this combo, it's slow to start, very slow and will say that it's unresponsive for up to several minutes before it finally boots at which point things are completely normal again. As I've never experienced anything like this I'm honestly not sure where to even start diagnosing this issue, so figured I'd ask here. Hopefully someone here might know something.

In device manager, for my igpu (intel hd graphics arrandale) I see that in list of available drivers it shows all WDDM 1.1 drivers incluing AMD and NVIDIA ones, does this mean that i can upgrade to those? Whenever I try to, it says this Edit: My laptop is running WDDM 1.1.

Hi! I built a pc about 2 years ago and have been having pretty major issues running multiplayer games. I have REALLY good internet and a pretty above average PC so i shouldnt be getting these issues but games like Heroes of The Storm are nearly impossible to play even on the lowest settings possible(below 10 FPS at all times). I have discovered that when using programs like SpeedFan and also in my bios my CPU temperatures are showing 127c. I am just wondering if this could be a issue with the sensor and my pc is being throttled? Any advice would be grateful!!
