Hi! Built a pc this summer which I am extremely pleased with, it works great and I've been having next to no issues at all. The only thing that bothers me is the constant dual boot and that it doesn't wake up from sleep mode. I have to manually hold the power button down and restart after it goes into sleep. Is there something in the BIOS that is causing this, or is the dual boot normal with my hardware? The pc works great when it's running, had no issues with it at all. Extremely thankful for any help with this! Radeon 7900XT 20GB AMD Ryzen 7 7700X DDR5 32GB 6000Mhz SN770 1TB M.2

dell inspiron 15 3521 Dell boot logo takes too long
Hasan Aljobory posted a topic in Operating Systems
Hi my laptop is a dell inspiron 15-3521 with 3rd gen i5 and amd radeon HD something graphics an adata ssd and 8gb of ram my problem is that the DELL boot logo takes really long like 20-40 seconds once the windows logo it only takes like 10 seconds (windows 11) and windows is really really fast on it the only slow thing is the dell boot logo before the windows boot logo What’s the cause of that? Thanks. UPDATE: the problem was the stuck cd rom because it tries to make it rotate but because it’s stuck it doesn’t and the laptop will try over and over but eventually give up -
this started few weeks ago but it was only like 1-2 minutes, now it's 10 minutes... should I RMA the phone? It's a Samsung a41 btw, one of the slowest phones ever made, I had phones in 2002 that were faster , but it shouldn't take *that* long? Also, all it does is showing this during boot: SAMSUNG SECURED BY NOX buttons do nothing either ...

The last weeks it has taken my pc much longer to boot than before. It always takes 1 min and 9 sec to get to the login screen. The slow part starts after the windows logo and the spinning circle is done with its part, I guess the POST part is good takes around 15-20 seconds. I have tried playing around with the start up programs in task manager without any success. The BIOS driver has worked before so I cant see why it should be the problem. Crucial Storage Executive says that the drive is of "Good Health". Fast boot disabled or enabled does not make any difference. Boot priority is correct. Tried Reset the bios to default settings, no difference. What can I do?

Hi! I recently got an M.2 SSD which I've had for about a month. One day, my Windows and programs started to crash a lot, the drive disappeared from Windows and several times PC refused to boot past bios or just took a very long time. The drive was not a Windows installation, just meant for storage. After some troubleshooting I found out that the drive was indeed the problem and have since taken it out. Originally had installed the drive in the second slot just below the PCIe 16x slot because I didnt want to remove the cooler in order to get to the first one. Now, I'm aware that by using this slot I will only get SATA speeds as mentioned in the manual, but I was fine with it. During troubleshooting I have tried installing it in the first slot, but the issue is still there. The PC boots, but takes a very long time, like 10 minutes of loading past bios and the drive is no longer visible in Windows. When the drive is removed from the PC, everything is back to normal. The drive is Kingston A2000 M.2 SSD 1TB and mobo is 470-F from Asus with bios 5603. I was thinking, it could be an issue with bios and it may need an update but I doubt it as it was working perfectly fine for two months. I have for now submitted an RMA, but maybe I have missed something. Do you guys have any other suggestions, besides that the drive is faulty. Thanks Other specs: Windows 10 RTX 2080 2700X 32 GB RAM Cooler Master V850

Hello everyone, The story: At first I had sm961 256GB which was fast enough ( I mean boot time was very short) but after 2 years of using it started slow booting of windows10 and when I checked the health status of ssd it was 96% and 13.5TB writes which is not so bad but despite of this I changed to 970pro (new) which has much more speed and endurance. The problem: My laptop Asus Rog G752VS OC Edition with 970pro 512gb boots very slowly (even shutdown/restart process is long) the time it needs to boot windows 10/11 is 23 seconds. I tried fresh install of windows 10/11 with different versions of OS,drivers, nvme drivers, bios (moded also),RAM modules and quantities (1 slot,2 slots,3 slots,4 slots) and also tried different nvme ssd models but with no luck. Also I did crystaldiskmark test and got the result 970pro provides at maximum speed. Checked with AIDA64 software as well and got maximum speed. Also when I checked pcie controller speeds it showed pcie 2.0 speed at x4 bandwidth which I don't know is current speed when I don't use it or maximum negotiated speed (maybe it's current speed because read/write test shows 3500MB/2300MB). I checked specs with hwinfo64 as well and got x4 8GT/s which is equal to PCIe 3.0 4x (4x985MB/s) that is the speed 970pro can transfer (laptop supports pcie3.0 x4 as well) at maximum load (PCIe 3.0 4x) but despite of this windows 10 boots very slowly. Also I have to mention that when I run 970pro test at full load it makes low level noise. Hello, I am currently dealing with a few issues with my pc after upgrading the mtb, A little while ago I ran into some issues with my msi b350m motherboard (it initially said windows needed repairing then stopped posting), so i decided it was time for an upgrade, as the b350m had already given me so much trouble in the past; so I settled on an Asus Strix B450F. After re-assembling everything with the new motherboard , I got my usb key with windows 10, repaired windows, Installed/re-installed the drivers and software for the motherboard, and started playing. At this point the only issue I had was a painfully long boot up time, but besides that basically everything was in working order. Today when I started up my pc I went to BIOS and overclocked my cpu and RAM using Asus’s EZ Tuning Wizard, and changed the boot order to my SSD first. After starting it up, both of my seagate harddrives are not detected on any SATA ports, and different SATA cables made no difference. I even tried a different drive power connector and nothing seems to work, no matter what the two drives are not detected. I have yet to try resetting the bios settings. Ideally I don’t want to clean install windows again, because if I did I would end up formatting the ssd and would have to re-download virtually everything. Any help is appreciated. TLDR: The two Seagate HDD’s not detected, tried basic troubleshooting and nothing seems to help. Also it takes almost 5 mins to boot up fully which is nowhere near where it should be. Specs: Ryzen 5 1500x - CM hyper 212 EVO Asus ROG strix B450F Zotac GTX 1060 6GB mini 2x8gb TForce Vulcan Z RAM Rosewill Arc m550 Kingston ssd 250gb Seagate barracuda 1tb Seagate barracuda 2tb also I was wondering if anyone could explain what this means after post: “Checking media presence... Media present... Start PXE over IPv4...”

Hi everyone, Few days ago, i decided to clean up my case from dust. I unplugged all the power cables, turned off my power supply and opened my case. first i used a vacuum cleaner, then some wet wipes to remove the dust. I had the utmost care not to touch the sensitive parts like cables or circuits . After i'd finished, i pressed the power button and some errors appeared. i couldn't catch exactly where my computer was trying to scan, but it was somewhere in my C drive. this process seemed endless to me and then i decided to format my pc.For the format, just as i usually do, i tried using an external flash drive. But when the screen appeared to configure my ssd just like below:http://1.1m.yt/qi84TR.pngit was very slow to format and delete this reserved parts. it used to be very quick when my computer worked normally. It took me too many times to skip this and i finally achieved to install Windows. But it was way way slower than usual to complete the installation. (btw, this screenshot is not from my pc. after i'd deleted and formatted this reserved parts, i created them again.)After hours of effort, i realized that there is a shocking boot time of 1 min 45 sec. It used to be around 15-20 seconds before this cleaning shit happened. I scanned my SSD for errors with Samsung SSD magician but there was nothing unusual, just like below:http://4.1m.yt/45yC19m.jpgthere were no bad sectors either. Have i damaged my ssd and have to replace it with a new one ? or is it still possible to fix the problem ? PS: i'm not a native speaker so, sorry for any broken english. Thanks in advance.

So when I boot my computer it shows first bios screen like it should then it goes black for 1-5min, then it shows bios screen again. It does this approx. 1-4 times then the pc tries to do automatic repair, when it starts the load (circle spins) it cuts off and shows the bios screen again. Sometimes it goes in the automatic repair and i press "restart" and it does the same thing without automatic repair and it boots but its still very slow. The computer boots, but its so slow it takes like 10-20 min to boot up and i have ssd.Specs:Motherboard: Asus m81m-kCpu: Intel xeon e3 1231 v3Ram: KINGSTON HyperX 8GB DDR3 1600MHzPower supply: Corsair CX600 V2SSD: Samsung evo 850 250gbGpu: asus nvidia gtx 680This is not like critical problem but its annoying af and it would be nice to know what is broken so I can buy a new one or fix the component. I've tried to do clean boot from msconfig nothing really happened.Help would be appreciated.

my pc has been running pretty well since i built it a little over a year ago but this morning it randomly started acting weird. the pc froze while i was watching youtube then proceeded to restart itself after about 8 seconds(was just about to do a cold boot) then when it restarted i noticed the monitor wasn't coming on i waited about 40 seconds then i saw the bios splash screen and it did another restart and booted normally now whenever i restart my pc it does that weird boot pauses for a minute then shows the boot screen then restarts and boots like it should any idea what could be causing this?

I built myself a new PC earlier this year. It runs great, but the boot times seem to be really slow. I'm running a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 (rev 1.1) motherboard. (More PC specs to follow at the end of post.) When I start it up, it spends 20 to 30 seconds on the Gigabyte logo screen. So if I'm going to go into the UEFI settings, or select a different boot drive, I'm mashing those keys for a long time. Once it gets past that point to where it wants to load Windows up, it works just fine. No slowdown to speak of. In an effort to speed things up, I've paired down the available boot devices to just the two SSDs that I boot from. (I have a multiboot setup) For various reasons, I do not have Fast Boot or Ultra Fast Boot enabled in Windows or my UEFI. But, then, I have a laptop at work that I use. Fast Boot isn't enabled there, either, but it gets into Windows a lot faster. (I should add that this faster-booting work laptop also doesn't have specs anywhere near as good as the desktop I'm having all this trouble with.) Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! This is not really a question but just something i want to post here for people having problems with slow boot times of windows 10. I was just minding my own business and studying for my exams, till it was almost time for a good night rest! Windows 10 was complaining about updates so i was yea whyy not ?!! So windows 10 was updating and my computer was going to restart. I was waiting for my computer to come back on... and waiting ... okay well the updates really do take a long time ... ! My computer finally booted. i wanted to test if it really where the updates causing a slow boot. I turn my machine off and on again and..... it took about 9 minutes to boot up! what 9 minutes on a I7 6700 with 32 GB of RAM and a SDD where windows is installed on??!!!! Jup it took 9 minutes. i couldnt really believe that it took that long so i tested it again! And same story again!! i just couldnt believe it when it booted into windows i was tchecking my file explorer and i noticed something! my hard disk wasnt recognized anymore !? So i just opened my case and take a look to my hard drive ! and yea some way or another my power cable wasnt probably attached to my hdd! i plugged it in again and started my computer again and bam !!! windows took 20 seconds!! FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT WANT TO READ EVERYTHING: If windows is booting slow it could be a bad driver or a USB device that is causing the problem! it could also be a BIOS boot priorety problem! Or it could be just an update taking a long time (dont turn your computer off to quickly) BUT If you are sure that the device where your OS is on is fast and okay to go ! Usb is not causing any problem! well then lookout for other HDD's or SSD's cause they may extend your boot period for a long time, make sure they are propally connected! Could be with other faulty or bad connected hardware to ( like your RAM ) ! mister bassix out :-D (hope i can help some people) and sorry for bad spelling english isnt my native language !! ;-)

I created a system image on an hdd (Win 7 is on a ssd) and now it takes at least 45 seconds to boot. If I take the drive out or remove the image and put other data on the hdd it boots in 15 seconds at most. Why would this happen? I check this with my older hdd (the older drive never gave me any trouble in the past) and it did the same thing.

Hey,I recently (1-2 weeks ago) mounted a completly new PC and fully installed Windows 10 (x64) in a SSD, the firsts 2 days the PC booted almost instantly, in 10 seconds could pass from totally off to the locking screen of Windows. After that I started to install some games in the SSD (aprox 40 GB) and others in the HDD (aprox 150 GB). Now the boot time is significantly slower almost 1 minute. I think the problem comes from the HDD because when I turn on the PC starts normally and then a black screen is displayed until some characteristic sounds start coming from the HDD, after that the Locking screen is displayed and the PC works nice.(CASE 2): Other times when I boot it arrives to the Locking screen very fast but when I log in Windows I see in my desktop all the shortcuts of the programs that installed in the HDD with a white icon and the programs installed in the SSD with their normal icons, when that happens I can only move my mouse until the sounds starts happening and then everything works fine.It only happens when the PC has been turned off for more than 1 - 2 minutes, if I reboot or turn off and boot again in less than that time the PC boots like the first day. I've checked that the SSD has the pritority in the boot order and I don't know what is happening.Any idea is apreciated and don't hesitate to ask anything you need. Thanks UPDATE: Now I'm 100% sure that the problem is coming from the HDD because I've unplugged it and booted only with the SDD and the boot was fast as should be, it's like the SDD is waiting to the HDD to wake up so it can start. Greetings! I have just recently cleaned the dust buildup on all of the components inside my computer which includes the following: (CPU/GPU/RAM/PSU/HDD/SSD). I have been doing this kind of routine for the past few years and never had any problems. But it seems that my PC Boots significantly slower than ever before. Boot times BEFORE CLEANING COMPONENTS (<15 Seconds) but Boot times AFTER FULL CLEAN (> 1 Minute). I am posting this thread as it had been extremely troublesome for me given the fact that I have bought an SSD for a specific reason and usage -- speedup the booting times of my computer. Whereas, in terms of launching and loading of games as well as programs the SSD shows no bottlenecks or hiccups at all but only falters to do its job during the BOOTING PHASE of the machine. Here are the specifications of my computer: CPU - i5 6500 RAM - 2x8GB (Corsair Vengeance LPX & Teamgroup T-Force Delta) MOBO - B250M Mortar Arctic GPU - GALAX GTX 1060 OC (3GB) SSD - Kingston UV400 240GB (Main Bootable Drive) HDD - Seagate 1TB (Storage Purposes) On the other hand, here are some of the steps I've opted on using: Reset the BIOS and Insert SSD First then HDD after restart. (Still Slow Boot) Reseated the RAMS on Slots 1 & 3 / Slots 2 & 4. (Still Slow Boot) Booting the system with Single Stick of RAM. (Still Slow Boot) Removed GPU Riser Cable and mounted it directly to the motherboard. (Still Slow Boot) Tweaked the Registry Key (EnableULPS) - Changed the Value from '1' to '0'. (Still Slow Boot) Tweaked MSConfig - Checked the "NO GUI BOOT" and set the timeout to "5 Seconds". (Still Slow Boot) Tweaked "Advanced System Configuration" settings and changed Virtual Memory Allocation to Recommended Size. (Still Slow Boot) Used Direct Display Uninstaller (DDU) to remove GPU Drivers and re-installed New NVIDIA Drivers as well as Old Drivers. (Still Slow Boot) Looking forward to your keen suggestions and helpful comments. Thank you and God Bless!

Hello all, Ok so. I need some serious help because I'm sick of pulling my hair out for about 2 months now with issues after building my first pc ever. First I had bsod for a month before swapping the ram over into the other slots and that fixed that issue. This is my parts that I used to build my new pc: - asrock ab350 k4 gaming mb - ryzen 5 2600x - g-skill fortis 16 gig 2400mhz (x2 8 gig sticks) - asus strix gtx1070 oc 8 gig - viewsonic 27" 2k 60htz monitor - 120 gig ssd for windows - 1tb western digi blue for games and storage (only old part this is a 2010 part) - coolermaster bronze 650w psu Ok, for a start, the above computer cannot run counter strike source (YES SOURCE) fps ranges from 30-300 mostly sits under 100 and dips very frequently to 30-40-50.... It runs csgo with a solid 150 fps lets say all set to high or ultra. It also runs rise of the tomb raider on max with no dips under 60fps. The only other game I notice runs horrible is now pubg going down to as low as 30 which is basically unplayable like css. What I have done or tried: - check ram speeds bios setup / setting - install all latest drivers - windows power settings to max - nvidia options have now all been lowered or turned off completely (vsync, aa etc etc) plus set to max performance - different resolutions - run anti virus scans - clean registry - disk cleanup - run sfc/scannow - run mem test - run driver verifier - remove extra start up items - turned off xbox game dvr via powershell - overclocking gfx card All of this has achieved 0 change the change of 5fps is not worth mentioning or able to actually measure, so it made 0 difference. Counter strike source still runs at 30-90 fps which basically makes it unplayable (or at least not very enjoyable). Am I just really dumb thinking this pc should be getting 300 fps flat ? I'm completely at an end of ideas. I'm leaning towards the fact some hardware may be faulty because the performance is very sub par for what I've built ?????? If that was the case would I get more bsod's ? Or can you have faulty hardware that "works" and does not cause a bsod but causes some other issue ??? One other thing I can note or add is for a first time ssd user, I have to say I do not see any improvement AT ALL over a standard hard drive.... this is another great disappointment as I wasn't going to bother with one in the first place then I did... for what ?? my system takes a good 30 seconds plus to get to the windows login page (even if it was asleep, not power off) then takes a good 2 mins at times to load up windows fully.... Is this normal for an ssd ? why do we even bother with them ? Recently I have constant windows explorer crashes also when I try to view file details, It locks up and crashes certain folder are 100% guaranteed to do this, It happens with both the brand new SSD and the 8 year old HDD. Also before anyone bothers mentioning I have a 60htz monitor so I only need 60 fps. I understand this but 30 fps is "f"ing terrible Please help, because this is extremely frustrating and I feel like I have 100% failed in building a pc. Thanks for reading if you did

So for about maybe 1 year maybe more my computer does this very random and very annoying thing where one of my HDD's does not show up in the bios and if I try to just boot in to windows it can take upwards of 5 minutes for it to finally bring me to login screen. I have my OS (Windows 10 Pro 10.0.17134) on a samsung ssd and 2 seagate 1TB HDD's. It is almost always the one specific HDD that stops being recognized however there has been one time where the other has stopped as well. I have tried the usual methods for fixing something like this, swapping SATA cables, SATA ports, I even re installed Windows and formated all drives to get it to stop doing it. I ran the hard drive health check thing from seagate on both drives both came up healthy. Generally it seems like pure chance as to whether or not the hard drive will come back and be recognized and I don't have to wait 5m for a boot on and SSD. I have yet to find any kind of pattern that could indicate what causes this although for some reason whenever my computer sustains some kind of "trauma" such as a power failure or one time I downloaded a software and clumsily gave myself a handful of virus / malware it seems to kaput out. Then finally for some reason it may come back, and I have to avoid shutting my computer down because I know when I reboot there is a likely chance i will lose my hard drive and it wont be recognized (and this is precisely what happened a couple days ago). It is infuriating having no idea what could possibly be causing this, especially when im 95% sure the HDD are in healthy working condition. Anyway anyone here got any ideas because I'm out and tired of this happening, thanks in advance.

Okay so I have been having this issue for a really long time, I have an R9 280 and my boot time gets hammered because of AMD drivers, i thought it was normal before, but now after i upgraded to SSD's and such, i don't think so. While booting, the dotted circle freezes after a couple of spins, then i get a black screen and then my monitor turns off, then it turns on again with black screen still and then i get to the welcome screen, sometimes this goes faster and sometimes i get longer than usual black screens, its not that long, maybe 10 seconds on the extreme side, but considering i have a Samsung EVO 860 this shouldn't happen. when i uninstalled AMD drivers and used Microsoft Basic Driver the boot time was ALOT faster, and i also noticed that my screen doesnt turn off, or even see a single black screen, the dotted circle fades smoothly and i get to the welcome screen instantly after that. so what i'm asking is, do you guys also experience this while booting? either Nvidia or AMD, i really would like to know more about this, I don't know if this is an AMD thing or it's normal. (state your graphics card also)

Recently my boot times are getting REALLY long for a SSD, 4-5 mins. It spends all that time at windows logo with the spinning dots. Sometimes it boots fast from a shutdown (10 sec) but 80% from the time takes way longer than that. From a restart it does it all the time. Boot priority is set right, 1st SATA port on SSD (tried changing them), disconected my HDD - still does it, registry reset - no change, BIOS update and drivers. Startinhg to run out of options, will really appreciate your sugestions, as reinstall is my last bet - dont really feel like spending 1 - 2 days setting up programs and settings PC: I7 7700k Asus Z270F EVGA 750W GTX 1080 ti 16 GB DDR4 Samsung 850 evo 250 GB

Hi my computer its an desktop its like 1 year old and one day out of random it started booting up very slow and i cant figure out why and the the "last BIOS time" was 171.4 seconds

It even takes a long time to get into the bios sometimes. This is an asus maximus hero VII and an i7 4790k MRC Fastboot is already enabled. My bios is one update away from the newest. I'll probably update it later, but from what I've read on forums, it seems that doesn't fix it. Not sure where to go from here. My MSI z97 pc mate was really quick to boot so not sure why a much more expensive asus mobo would have this problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is it normal for this motherboard?

Hi! posting here before i seek professional help. Just recently upgraded my rig from being in a HAF 912 case to a Mastercase 5, and switched from stock cooler to a hyper 212 evo. The issue i'm having is two fold: my boot period is very long, and while gaming (typically after a period of 30 min -2 hours) i will lose video. The machine still seems to be fully working- game sound continue, skype call work, and audio on youtube still plays- but no video at all. If you have any ideas, please say, or I'll just go to Canada computers and have them diagnose it for me.(for a $40 fee, so i'm trying here first) My full specs are: gigabyte 'windforce' r9 280 Intel i5-4460 w/ cooler master hyper 212 evo cooling gigabyte H97-d3h XFX 550 Bronze Coolermaster Mastercase 5 http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Ptnhyf Thanks, if you can help me.
