So i’m sleeving my own wires on my new build, bought some paracord 95 for sleeving usb and fan wires individually but can’t find any cable combs for them! Does anyone know where i could find any? Do they even exist?

I found this cool 240 aio from SilentiumPC (https://www.silentiumpc.com/en/product/navis-rgb-240/) but the tubes don't come with sleeving and I have no idea about the diameter of the tubes so I don't know what size of sleeving to buy. I was wondering if someone with an aio from the same lineup could measure the outer diameter of the tubes and send it to me. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, I've recently started beefing up the internal appearance of my computer. My goal is to have every single cable inside that case sleeved. So far the SATA-power cables, the front pwr, reset and HDD cables and the HD-Audio-cable are sleeved. The GPU-, CPU- and 24PIN-power cables are next. I've also found sleeving for the SATA-Data-cables, so they are nearly done, as well. However, there is one problem: the internal USB 3.0- cables running from my front I/O to the mainboard. I have a Corsair 400C with two USB 3.0 connectors on one end and the thick 20-pin-connector on the other. As of now I haven't found a way to get sleeving around those cables. Another problem is the thickness of the I/O-side. They are not regular USB-terminals, but have a thick part to it (no idea how to explain that better in english, sry), so a screw can go through them. The foto (link) shows a similar product. Mine only has the two terminals separate with two screwholes each: Picture I've cut a spare cable that was laying around in half to see if I can solder that stuff together again. It looks pretty complicated. Do you guys have an idea how I can tackle this challenge? Best regards August

So today I revieved the Cablemod sleeved cables that I ordered last week. Now I took a closer look at them, and I want to check that this is how the cables are supposed to look, and not a defect. In the first picture there are some cords missing in the connector, this is a molex cable. The second is a PCI-E cable and has to cords in the same place on the connector, but on spot in the connector is empty. Any help would be appreciated!

I am planning on getting an evga nex supernova 650 watt power supply and I was planning on sleeving the cables myself. How much sleeving would I need, or how much sleeving have you guys used?

So i just recently built my first computer and i am starting to clean up the cabling as much as possible and i want to buy some sleeved extensions for the front panel connectors from CableMod but i want to use a usb extender since i would have to buy 3 front panel cables as opposed to the one usb extender. I wanted to know if anyone else has used a usb 2.0 extender for the same purpose and since there will be exposed pins on the extender i was thinking of covering them with hot glue or something so that they do not make contact with the case or any other metals. Do you think this will work? -
Which cable sleeve material would you recommend for best looks in a PC a plastic type or paracord?

I have been thinking about a desk build for quite a while and now I am actually doing it. For this build I needed custom length cables and since I wasn't willing to pay the expensive prices found online, I decided to sleeve the cables myself. Guess what I learned, sleeving is still hella expensive even doing it yourself. Anyway I have completed my 24pin cable and wanted to know how to confirm I did everything correctly and I have a few questions as well. Below are three pictures of my cable, the front, back and a single wire not plugged into the connector. In the 24pin I skipped one wire on the underside, this leads right into the first question. Are there diagrams somewhere to show you how to wire up each type of cable? In my build I have a graphics card which requires a 6pin and an 8pin, motherboard 24pin and 8pin, hdd and ssd which both require sata power, and a fan power board which requires molex. 6 and 8pins seem quite straight forward to me as they both require to be filled with wires. However for the sata power and molex I noticed that they are missing 1 and 2 wires receptively. After searching around online a while I haven't been able to find any diagrams of how to wire up the sata and molex and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Secondly, once every cable is completed how can I confirm everything works, can I use a multi meter to make sure their is voltage running through correctly? (sorry if that's a dumb question I'm new to electronics). I was reading earlier that a mess up in the cable can cause permanent damage to components (for obvious reasons) and I really don't want that to happen so I'm trying to be as careful as possible. I tore my old system apart yesterday to clean out all out the dust balls. I though maybe my 5 year old H60 was end of life as well. Long story short and a $300 trip to Microcenter later, I have a new H100i V2 and a NZXT H440. Now I have a finishing touch problem. The old cabling for my PSU is red and black and it doesn't go with the new white case. The MB always had the blue on it but it was covered up by poor wire management in the old system. So I have a Semi modular EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750B. I know I am going to have to do some custom sleeving with the 24 pin but I have plenty of leads on the PSU for Extra Video card leads and CUP 8 Pin leads. Question What is everyone thoughts about buying a cable set just to disassemble for the presleeved cables and swap out the cables one by one? https://cablemod.com/product/cablemod-modflex-sleeved-wires-black-16-inch-4-pack/ This product on the cablemod site made me think of it. I can seem to buy them anywhere.

When looking to buy paracord for cable sleeving I noticed that stores that sold paracord with cable sleeving in mind were about 5x more expensive than store selling it for other purposes. Is there any difference between the 2? Can I use either for the job? thanks

Getting ready to start sleeving cable (my video card takes 6 pin power and I have spare cables If i upgrade) what Id like to know is it to ok to remove the extra 2 pin from the connector going to the psu

Ok so I going to try sleeving my pci-e cable my video card only uses a 6 pin and I have spare cables if/when I upgrade, So what Id like to know is if its ok to remove the second set of cables coming off of it

I am in the process of creating custom sleeved cables for my evga 850 g2 and I have been searching everywhere for the answer to this question with no success. Some of the double wires for the 24 pin power connector are 18 awg and some are 22. I thought I remember at some point reading something about the psu using the difference in resistance of the two differently gauged wires to monitor/regulate voltage. Will using different or even all the same gauge wire affect this? I have a ton of 16 gauge wire and just ordered some 18 and 22 just in case I need to replicate it exactly however I'd rather use the thicker gauge wire if it will be better (even just theoretically I know the difference probably wouldn't be noticeable in real world performance).

Is there anyone here that knows the diameter of cablemod - C-Series ? Its Modflex sleeving I am looking for cable combs either 3 or 4mm ones, On the Cablemod homepage i can get combs that fit but they do not sell 14 slot witch is the ones that i need. Also they are alot cheaper at E22

I am going to be sleeving my cables for the first time and just want to clear some things up before I go ahead and by what I need first, what size cable should I use? Also what terminal should I need, is it different for each component? also I am not fully sure on what wires I will have in the build. Will it work to do the arc this (you know the thing where you make the inner cable shorter than the outer cable) on fully sleeved psu cables or will this only work on extenions?? -
Does it really matter if i use 16 awg wire for sleeving my psu cables instead of 18 awg, does it justify the extra cost.

Do you know any good wire crimpers mainly for crimping psu cables 18-16 awg for around 20$ more or less. P.S. It's important that they work good on both 16 and 18 awg wire.

Hi guys, long time Linus fan here but new in the forum. I'm a sleever and cable maker from Italy, today I'd like to share with you some of my most interesting and unique works I've had a sweet spot for custom cables ever since I became a PC enthusiast, and lately I've been experimenting with braids, new materials, cable illumination, and a lot of other fancy things. Cable making today is kind of a dying sector of modding for a lot of reasons and I'm quite sad about it. I hope to inspire other people into getting to try it! Opinions and critics are very appreciated Silver cables: only electrical cable - no sleeving. The cable is silver-plated copper with transparent teflon insulation, really high quality stuff that is usually used in aerospace applications. It reflects and refracts light like no other and it's truly wonderful in a well-lighted and/or RGB build: the more light you give around it, the more it starts looking like illuminated optical fiber. Braided cables: after trying my hand with a really complex prototype that was looking wonderful but wasn't able to finish completely (inspired by the Crysis nanosuit), I went on doing more simple braidings. However there's still much more to be experimented in this area! Would really love to see what other people come up with- 3 replies
