Since both are at about the same price, I want to know if there's any difference between Single and Dual Channel RAM. In my opinion, Dual Channel is aesthetically better, but I care much more about performance. Is there any difference? P.S: I'm going to buy DDR4 RAM.

hey guys i know this may have been asked before but i looking at buying a new gpu or gpu (well used one) i want to know if i should go with a single GTX 1060 or go with a crossfire configuration. if i did crossfire id like something i could get cheaper or same value as a gtx 1060 and be better if thats possible. if you guys know of any solutions please let me know. in case you want to know My PC Specs: i7-2600k 8gb 1333mhz RAM Radeon HD 4890 1GB asus p8p67-m evo Kingston Hyperx Savage SSD 240gb EVGA 500w bronze PSU also this is how much work my cpu is doing compared to my gpu(1080p medium quality)

Which GPU should I get?. I am on a budget and could get a 1060 3GB dual fan (from anyone). Or get a 1060 6GB single fan. I would really hate to get a single fan due to temperatures but I think that the 6GB would be beneficial.

Hey. Im at an inpass right now. I currently have an rx 480 no oc its a refferance version. I understand they are supposed to run hot but mine goes to 90°c. Is there a problem??? How could i go about fixing this!

hey guys im new on the forum but I really would appreciate your help I have here a 16 gb ddr4 sodimm ram stick inserted in my laptop but i have still one slot left and i have a 8gb stick basically through Cpu-Z I was checking if they had same latency and the other specs to see if i could pair them to get 24 gb (i know useless but im really curious to try it out and test possible scenarios where they could be handy) i'll attach the spd of both ram which looks to be identical specs except one little small thing the rank one is dual while the other is single i read on the net that single rank is faster and it is something that matters for server like.. anyway my questions here are: 1) will these rams run in dual channel? i mean do they have to be the exact same to run dual channel? same specs and same gb? 2) is there any drawback about not having one of the standards amount of gb like 4/8/16/32.. in my case 24gb? 3) what could be the possible problems that i could encounter if i put that 8gb in? 4) are there other factors to consider or that are unknown that could make them not work together? ps i got the spd of the crucial ram (the 8gb stick) from the net i didnt put it in yet otherwise i would know if it did run dualchannel why i didnt put it in ? well im afraid of messing something up and unfortunately i have got an msi laptop with void if tampered sticker on the back so if i want to put in the 8gb stick i will have to remove the sticker, which is something i will do if there are no problems matching the rams thank you very much for your time

I am getting these random lag spikes in every game. I don't know why. The games i have rn is Geometry dash, and Roblox. My laptop could easily handle these games, running roblox at 35-60 fps, and Geometry dash at 60 fps. But the lag spikes came in about a year ago. While i was playing roblox at like 40 fps, the fps plummeted to 1 fps for like a few seconds. This issue also happens to geometry dash. My laptop is from 2016, its an Asus x455ld laptop with an Intel Core i3-4030u @ 1.90Ghz, with a Nvidia Geforce 820M, and 6 Gb of ram. If anyone could help me resolve this issue i would greatly appreciate it.

I'm wondering what the real world fps difference is between a traditional style parallel 4 core oc, and a per individual core turbo boost style oc is on games that utilize all 4 cores (Overwatch if we want to be specific in my case.) So as an example something like an oc of: 43 43 43 43 vs. 46 46 40 40 -
Ok, so I need a single-slot graphics card because of the limitations of my motherboard as displayed below with my amazing punctuation art |=============| PCIE one (graphics card) |====| Small PCIE one (Wi-Fi adapter) |====| Small PCIE two (Sound Card) It needs to stay inside its slot completely. Not bothered if nvidia or AMD, whichever one gives better performance. CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Hyper-Threading Motherboard: B250M PRO-VD (MSI) I may be willing to move WiFi down and remove sound card but would rather not. I may be willing to move WiFi to a USB if a good adapter / dongle can be found. Low latency, fast (300mbps area) (faster ac standard if possible), Bluetooth (4.2 / 5) and 2.4 + 5 GHz ideally. Ok there is some minor issues once I realized my boards manual clearly was wrong I opened the PC and fixed it to run in dual channel and shit happened... XMP does not work unless I set it down to 3060MHz also the memory support list for the ASRock board actually mentions this! (only on G.Skill sticks for some reason) But anyhows should I use single channel with higher MHz or dual with 3060MHz? Dual 3000MHz CL15-16-16-35 Dual 3060MHz CL15-16-16-35 (could maybe see if this works?) Dual 3060MHz CL16-18-18-38 (currently) Mono 3200MHz CL16-18-18-38 Mono 3600MHz CL18-22-22-42 (could try this also? would max infinity fabric or is it pointless in mono channel?) Why does board do this? :< -
The title. My PC used to only have 2 4GB RAM modules. 8GB in total. I stress tested it a long time back with Memtest86 and it passed. Yesterday, I added 2 8GB sticks. It now has 24GB in total. I stress tested it with Memtest86 and it returned a note: "ram may be vulnerable to high frequency row hammer bit flips" Not an error. It was a non-error "note". Other than that, the configuration passed the stress test. All RAM modules are exactly the same other than their sizes. Same brand, model, speeds, etc. I opened up CPU-Z. Under "Memory", it says my RAM "Channel #" is "Dual". Under "SPD", I can view the details of all RAM modules. ALL values, speeds, etc. are exactly the same other than: 1) "Module Size" - duh 2) "Part Number" - the part numbers between all 4 modules are exactly the same except 4G/8G depending on the module size 3) "Serial Number" 4) "Week/Year" (date manufactured) 5) "Ranks" - the old 2 4GB modules are labelled "Single", whilst the 2 newer 8GB modules are labelled "Dual" It is worth mentioning both sets of RAM modules were purchased in sets of 2. They should both be running in dual channels. -
Hello everyone, I am having an issue with my new MSI GE72MVR 7RG laptop, the issue is that games aren't running very well, it has an i7 7700HQ and a gtx 1070 with 1x16GB DDR4 2400Mhz RAM. Games like Rainbow six siege, Destiny 2, and Battlefield 1 will run somewhere in the 70-100FPS zone maxed out at 1080p but will have extremely low 1% lows like down to 25 and 30FPS and during these spikes the game will hitch for a second then go right back up to the normal framerate. Now I have done some research and it seems that the issue is with having a single stick of RAM rather than a dual channel memory kit. RAM prices are pretty high right now so I am thinking to help alleviate this issue I might just buy a 4GB 2400Mhz stick on the cheap and get some of that dual channel goodness. My question is, is that a viable option? I mean the RAM that came with the laptop is 16gigs and is Samsung brand I believe, would I be able to buy a 4GB stick of crucial that is the same speed and just pop it in no issue? I want to fix this issue as cheaply as possible. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read about my issues

Hey I was wondering what cpu i should get? My goal would be to have THE best pc for SINGLE THREAD TASK and poorly coded that only use one thread(like "Realm of the mad god", I can freaking play and record GTA V max setting at 50-60 fps but i can't just play realm of the mad god it their is a lot of poeple without lag i am sure i will still lag with the new pc but a bit less) I would delid the cpu in question put some liquid metal and put the ihs back, lap the cpu and use a custom loop to cool the beast, after that, i would overclock it as far as i can. I don't care about the price of the cpu in question or the price of the orher component by the way

From fold-out tables to small desks, I really wanted to purchase a quality desk, so after looking for a week I decided to purchase the Ikea Malm desk in Black-Brown. Here is the desk: https://goo.gl/ZPbZTN With that out of the way, I have a Dell S2716DGR Monitor and I have two options, purchase the same monitor and use a horizontal mount, (I'm SOL on clamps so I'll have to use a specific mount) or I'll sell the monitor for $400 and purchase an Ultrawide monitor. I really would rather purchase an Ultrawide Monitor, but I need an affordable option. My preference is 3440x1440 @ 100 Hz, and so far the best deal I found was the Pixio Px347c. It's only $500, being the absolute cheapest option, meets all of my requirements, and can install a mount if needed. My only issue is I would like to see some other options, and I cannot find any. Either they're way too expensive (UC99, PG348Q, Predator) or they take forever to arrive (Vast) Any suggestions?

I have a 650W G2 PSU from EVGA (which has two video cables, each with 1x 6+2 pin, and 1x 6 pin), and the 1070 comes with 2 6 to 8 pin adapters. I was wondering if (for the purposes of tidier cables) I could get away with using ONE cable coming from the PSU, using its 'in-built' 6+2 pin, and then using the adapter given to me by EVGA to use the other 6 pin and convert it to an 8 pin? I'm pretty sure this will be enough to power the card, but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks!

Is there any difference if I use a DVI-D Dual Link cable for my monitor? I've been using single link for as long as I remember. Monitor is only 1920 x 1080, 21.5" I know dual link is only for bigger monitors, but will it make a difference with quality for my monitor?

I am having an issue with the ASUS crosshair v formula z where not matter of configuration it reserves half of my memory as hardware reserved. it does not matter if i use 2x4+ 2x2 or 2x2 or 4x2 or 2x4. No methods of configuration are working as it always just reserves half of my memory for hardware reserved. I have tried flashing my bios, along with hitting the memok button. It registers the full amount of ram i insert but it just cuts it in half. please help. -

Over the past century various forms and improvements have been made to data storage, History of Data Storage -Techquickie, and this nano technology could have much larger implications towards the future of commercial data storage. Current data storage is primarily limited to Solid State and Hard Disk Drives, each require a minimum physical size to each point of data, effectively establishing a limit to how small the data storage can progress. The method devised utilizes individual atoms of chlorine deposited onto a copper surface. Using the needle of a scanning tunnelling microscope the atoms can be shuffled around, and by doing so filled or empty positions can be established due to the presence or lack there of chlorine. This in turn can be interpreted as a 1 or 0, which can be strung together to form bits, and larger forms of data such as letters. Within the spoiler below is a youtube video describing the storage method posted by Sander Otte of Delft University The researchers have already achieved actual data storage by recording Richard Feyman's lecture using this method in a roughly 100nm sized plate featuring several 64-bit blocks representing several characters. However the technology as it stands now is not "production ready". Hey everyone, While bored at work I made a very simple Python 3 script that requires nothing but the base libraries to benchmark single-threaded CPU performance. It approximates π using the Gregory Series : π = 4 - 4/3 + 4/5 - 4/7 + 4/9 ... It runs for a set time (1 second by default) and gives the result afterwards, which is the last divider used in the series (for example, if the last operation was + 4/500, it would give 500 points). Here it is in text, I have also attached it as a file.
