Allow me to share my experiences and seek your insights regarding my Ryzen 7950X3D processor. So, here's the scoop: I've proudly set a stable curve optimizer on my Ryzen 7950X3D, precisely at -15 for all cores (tested for a solid 9 hours with core cycler, though I must admit I got a tad lazy and didn't go any lower than -15 all core or even attempt to do per core, hehe!). With PBO enabled, SOC set at 1.30, and an Expo 1 configuration (6000MHz, 30 38 38 96), I've achieved higher scores than ever before on the 3DMark Timespy benchmark (both CPU score (top 33% @ 16,701) and graphics score (top 21% @ 36,965) reached unprecedented heights (Overall score: top 25% @ 31,251))! Additionally, my multicore score on Cinebench R23 hit a glorious 36,224, surpassing all previous records. However, there are two aspects that have caught my attention: 1. The multicore temperature during Cinebench R23 remains somewhat high, reaching around 89°C. Are there any tips or tricks you can share to help me lower the temps? My system boasts a trusty 360mm Fractal Design Lumen AIO in pull configuration(exhaust), complemented by the stock Hyte Y60 case with its three static pressure fans (two bottom intake, one rear exhaust). The side panel is currently off, allowing for better airflow. 2. Despite the remarkable overall performance, my single core score on Cinebench lingers around 1926. I can't help but wonder if there's a way to boost this score. Would designating Cinebench as a "game" during the single core test help in core parking and potential performance improvements (I can't think of much since Timespy CPU score and everything else seems to be great (top 33%), although CPU PROFILE score on 3D Mark (not timespy) was only at top 42%)? (It currently parks correctly in games and everything else and I am running Windows 11 btw). Now, my fellow enthusiasts, I turn to you for your wisdom and suggestions. How can I achieve cooler temps during multicore workloads? Are there any ideas to enhance the single core performance? Should I consider repasting or even reseating the CPU to ensure optimal thermals? Linus showcased this EXACT setup in his "500FPS PC" video, and it appeared slightly cooler(5-10C Cooler) in Halo Infinite @ 1080p 500hz (I'm using my old 240hz 1080p monitor for CPU benchmarking test and in Halo Infinite to compare to his, so it's more CPU intensive). While I initially attributed the variances to ambient temperatures and the silicone lottery, I'm open to exploring other possibilities. As i already sad in the Title, the "Prefered Core Selection" in Windows 11 is pretty Bad. I have an 5600X with 4,8GHz on the BEST Core and 3,8GHz on all the others. Windows is grabing my WORST Core to do the Single Core work, this is quite bad, not only because it is the worst performing Core, but also because the Core is clocking 1GHz lower then the "Best Core". So im loosing 32%** in Cinebench (R23) Single Core and CPU-Z Single Core. **(If i have all cores but the best on 3,8GHz, with PBO i loose maybe 15-17%) Thats just what i could measure, because i selected the core i want it to use (best one) in the Task Manager and got 32% more Performance out of the Benchmark. I can't just Overclock the "worst" core and be Happy with it because it can only do about 4,6GHz Stable.. Thats not worth the Multi Core decrease when all the other Cores stop boosting! My question is can i manually set wich Core Windows 11 should use? This is what it right now looks like I Think you can see whats going wrong, its using the C01 (seen in HwInfo64 this is my WORST Core ) instead of the C02 (#2) or the C06 (#1). Hello, it seems like my 5900x is getting the same single core performance score as a 3900x in Cinebench R23. The expected score should be around ~1550±50. I have no clue why that could be, tried playing around with Windows Power Plan and made sure no other program is running in the background. The temps seem okay too the CPU is staying around 44-46 °C. My system: CPU: 5900x@Stock settings. 4200 Mhz during benchmark. Motherboard: Asus x570 TUF Gaming plus wifi Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Memory: Crucial Ballistix 32 GB 3600 Mhz - cl16. Fclk 1800 mhz. I like to occasionally run some of my old ps2 games on my pc and generally I get pretty good framerates with boosted graphics on my fx 8350. However, a few select titles (like shadow of the colossus) run a bit choppily. Some old forum posts on the pcsx2 say that a 4790k is capable of running near perfectly, but it hasn't been updated in a while. Just wondering if there are any modern cpus with strong single core performance for pcsx2 intensive dual core load.

I want to ask related about single core performance. If core clock is lower than 'single core' affected too? Single core is low, so cant handle gpu smoothly. What causes of that and effect from that? I want to change to 3600 because its single core performance. For gaming. Now mine is not able handle RTX 2060 smoothly at certain game. So i need to upgrade the ram too. (Ryzen needs a fast ram)

I have an i7 6700k but I have been waiting for a good upgrade for a while now. I mostly play DCS world in VR so CPU single core performance very is important. Will I see any tangible benefit to upgrading to any of the new CPU offerings from AMD or Intel?

HeyGuys My current PC has following specs: AMD FX 6200 GTX 560 TI Corsair CS 450M OCZ Vertex 3 GA-970A-DS3P 2 x 4GB G.Skill RAM Windows 10 64bit edit: BenQ XL 2411 144hz And here is my problem: On this PC I mainly play cs:go which runs fine (>200fps) on 5v5 servers. But on DM servers with +16 clients my PC doesn't really start to struggle, but my frames do (stable 90fps). The utilization on the first CPU thread is at ~65% with the rest of them chilling at ~50%. My GPU utilization never reaches 60% even on 1920x1080. Here is what I have tried so far: checking temps. - all great, not in throttling range formating my SSD and try a fresh windows trying all these little "fps boosting tricks" https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=268030869 turning off 3 cores and OCing the 3 other cores to 4.5Ghz it then utilized all CPU threads to ~70% with no change in frame rates changing my resolution to 800x600 changing my energy options from balanced to maximum performance on nvidia control panel and windows All this had no real effect Now I need your help. What does limit my frames? Do I need to upgrade my old GTX 560 even if it is not utilized at any given moment? Just tell me what you would do if you had these problems. Thanks!

--note: i dont post this to milk the community for build options, but because i honestly have no idea what to buy for this purpose-- so, during the last few days i've been messing with the possibilities of minecraft servers, and i've come to a realisation: i currently have two servers: an i3 540 (4GB ram) and an i7 4770 (10GB ram) and i've never really used more than one core on either one of them. i've come to think it may be time to replace the i3 with something thats more meant for single core performance. as for budget, i'm looking at the €500 -ish range, hoping to get the following specs: (if you can do better, feel free to do so) - 8GB ram (dont bother with ECC, i dont need it for what i'm doing) - AT LEAST 80+ bronze power supply, with some headroom for extra hard drives. - single core performance comparable to that of an i7 4770 or better. (thats why i'm doing this) - preferably as silent as possible (the stock cooler on the i3 is as loud as i'd allow) - more than one cpu core (i highly doubt theres anything lower than dual-core these days anyways) - gigabit LAN (heh, like any motherboard still has 100Mbit) PS: i'd like to clarify, i'm NOT asking for a single core to be as fast as an entire 4770, i'm asking for a single core to be as fast as a single core of a 4770. also, overclocking *is* an option, although i'm not comfortable with it, as i have never done it. i'd appreciate PCpartpicker lists from german pcpartpicker, but realise that belgium is a tad more expensive, and all parts need to come from http://www.alternate.be/html/index.html i'd GREATLY appreciate if you'd check availability, but dont feel obliged to do so tho.
