Budget (including currency): $2500-$3000cdn Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: iRacing Asseto Corsa both in VR Other details I race cars, I'm injured and want to stay sharp, so putting a rig together. So many PC options and don't know how to maximize my budget. I'll be using an HP reverb or similar which is 2160x2160. Current thinking: AM5 CPU, what's the best bang for the buck keeping my budget in mind? Need to hit 80+ fps Video? Perhaps a used 3080ti? Any advice welcome!

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a way to setup a system that would allow me to make local phone calls and send SMS in one country, remotely from a computer in a different country. The idea is to get a SIM card with a phone number and somehow connect it with a junk phone or cellular USB modem to a computer and allowing some kind of access to it over the internet to make phone calls entirely on a computer software or web gui. Does anyone know of something like that? Alternatively there might be an app to control the phone over the internet and make a call on it that way, but that seems more restricted security-wise, so I haven't found anything like that. Thanks! -Sergey.

Budget Racing Sims It's the title but to make this for something that people can look for in the future I wanted to make this more professional and with some goals! I am assuming price budgets are for NEW items. Let's set some price budgets: Steering Wheels: Bare minimum budget - (Wheel Only) 100-150 USD: Premium Wheel - (Can include pedals bundled.) 200-300 USD: High End Wheel - 300-700 USD: Stand Alone Pedals: I'm assuming that if you are looking for pedals then you probably already have a decent wheel as most budget setups come with pedals already. Generic stand alone tri-pedal setup - (Clutch, Gas, Break) 100-150 USD: Premium weighted pedals - 200-300 USD: High end electronically haptic adjustable pedals - 400-800 USD: Shifter & Handbrake: Here's where we get tokyo drifting bois, Lets hit mount akina with our AE86's Generic shifter - 60-150 USD: Premium Shifter - 150-300 USD: Generic Handbrake - 60-150 USD: Premium Handbrake - 150-300 USD: If you guys have some recommendations on rigs for people to mount them as well toss those in too! If you guys can fit VR into the budget you wouldn't regret it! There are decently affordable and well performing Windows Mixed Reality headsets out there that can add so much to the experience. I cant wait to see what the community recommends as I will probably be splurging sometime soon on some hardware due to me just recently purchasing a 1990 Mazda Miata and wanting to turn it into a track/drift car! But first comes the practice on the simulators first.... Asseto Corsa anyone?

Budget (including currency): $500, but really looking for value. I am privileged to be able to afford pretty much any Ryzen CPU, but I value making smart financial decisions Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Sim Games in VR, especially Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Assetto Corsa/iRacing Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I built a PC 3 years ago with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a GTX 1660 Super (with a B450 Tomahawk Max II mobo, 2x8GB DDR4 3200 ram, and a crucial 1TB SSD) and have been looking to upgrade for a bit. Now that prices are finally down I splurged and got a 3080 a couple months ago. My plan is to stagger upgrades, that way I don't overwhelm my monthly budget all at once, and it keeps me relatively up to date. So since I've now got the GPU, my next plan is the CPU. From my experience the 3600 + 3080 combo can play most normal games at 1440p without being bottlenecked by the CPU too hard, and for most games that I'm viewing on a flat screen, I'm not that worried about the difference between 80fps and 100fps, but in VR, and especially in sims, it does get bogged down to a point where it's noticeable in VR (which is not great because motion sickness, immersion breaking, etc). I'm almost certain its the CPU bottlenecking since I can run at a smooth 90Hz on my Reverb G2 in Assetto Corsa until I add a couple bots, when it can drop to 60Hz and even lag to 30Hz, not great in VR. I plan on playing MSFS eventually as well when I get a flight stick and I've heard that game is brutally CPU bound. I do some video editing, 3d modeling as well, but I'm not overly concerned about render times really. The 3600 is working just to my liking so far for those applications. Since I have the B450 motherboard (that does have the latest bios), I think I'm only looking for AM4 chips, since I think in most cases it won't make financial sense to get a new CPU and a new motherboard. In my research it seems like the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is my best bet really, but I'm concerned it could be a waste of money. Seems like in some applications the 5800X can match it and the 5700X can come close for like $100-200 less. The notable exception however is MSFS where the 5800X3D seems to dominate, and I'm wondering if other sim games could be similarly making use of that extra L3 cache. I do not mind overclocking as I consider myself very tech savvy, however I'm running a mid tower case and might not have much room for a big cooler (just running the AMD stock one right now). Plus if I have to buy an aftermarket cooler as well as the CPU that will add to the cost. I am considering picking up a different case since they are relatively cheap and the 3080 barely fits in my current one lol, but not 100% sure on that yet. Thanks in advance for the advice! Hey there. I'm looking to buy a 4g sim card and put it in this https://www.amazon.co.uk/300Mbps-Unlocked-Powerful-Non-Detachable-Vodafone/dp/B07YCGMS6L/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=sim+router&qid=1605041062&sr=8-9 But the sim I want to buy has calls and text with it as well, the company also calls it a mobile sim. I'm pretty sure theres no such thing as a "mobile sim" and this sim should work in the router, but is there any reason why it wouldn't work with this router or so. I just want to make sure before I make any purchases, dont want to waste money. Thanks (:

I have both simcard slots occupied on my Asus Zenfone 2 Laser. One operates on the T-Mobile network while the other one operates on the AT&T network. Seeing the 2nd sim is the one running on the AT&T network, it's stuck in 2G mode. I know AT&T recently shut off 2G support. Would there be anyway of forcing my phone to run in 4G and 3G simultaneously? I am willing to root my phone and flash custom rom.

Hello, this is probably gonna be one of those times where it turns out im just being retarded, but anyway. Im having problems with putting my sim card in my Moto G5 (dual sim). I looked it up online and both my current phone (Samsung galaxy core prime) and the Moto G5 uses micro sim cards. I have looked up tutorials online and most of them are either for the G5 plus or for a single sim version. Never the less looking at the videos the card should just "slide in" like normal below the metal thing (tray?) where the SD card should be above it. However, it does not. I have attached some photo's here, it seems like there is a small rectangle shaped thing on the left side, this is what (it looks like) is blocking it, it would fit well if it was like the right side where it was gone. However, on the picture in this guide (on the right) it fits well: http://www.geeksquad.co.uk/articles/motorola-moto-g5-user-setup-guide#Motorola Moto G5 assembly the thing is there and fits well. The only way I can get it even partially in is if I put the corner in the middle, which of course does nothing. I have tried letting other people try to put it in as well, but they cannot do it either, is the size of my micro sim an "old" larger version or is there something wrong here? (Last picture is the sim fitting in the core prime) I excuse the pic potato quality, there is a reason im upgrading I appreciate any and all help!

Purpose: The end result of what I am trying to achieve here, is using a Windows laptop to connect to a Wi-Fi network secured with AKA/SIM authentication. My ISP and cell carrier provides wireless access points in a few thousand places around the city, many locations have two networks setup- one for SIM authentication (so that phones on their network can connect) and a traditional one that redirects to their login page so you can sign yourself in and use the network. I am a university student and have two SIM cards with this carrier. One is for my iPhone and is used in that device, and the other has been providing cell data on my Air 2. However, I bought a Surface Book and would like to see if there is a workaround to connect to the AKA/SIM network at my university using the Surface Book, and the iPad’s SIM card. The university is only configured to have the one network (with SIM authentication) I have an activated and paid monthly SIM that provides unlimited cell data, and the ability to connect to the SIM Wi-Fi network I am aware that some SIM-USB solutions exist in Europe, but I am in Canada. Do these devices provide their own proprietary internet connection? Would purchasing and shipping one even help in my situation? Is a Surface Book capable of recognizing a cell network/ able to login to SIM Wi-Fi networks? I probably don’t have all the questions here, and certainly am missing some answers. Advice, suggestions, or even links to better information than I have is all appreciated. Thanks in Advance, Scott

I am looking for dual sim phone for my Speakout+Fido Tablet setup and I am very split between G6 and Oneplus 5 Since beside OP5 or Axon 7, there is no dual sim phone with warranty on it. G6 is good with more polished day-to-day use (water resistant, screen size, and audio on Dual Sim model) Axon is slightly cheaper with actual warranty SD card support but no IP rating OP5 has warranty and full band support for Canda minus Freedom Mobile LTE (heard the LTE signal does not hold)

So I am here with some unusual topic... I just got a call from my boss that I need to go to south korea next year for two weeks because the company where I am employed does some Hospitality stuff (video, lighting, etc.). My current data plan includes roaming only in the EU so my plan is to get some prepaid data plan in south korea becaue I will be there two weeks or longer. Any suggestions for a data plan? (unlimited LTE data would be nice) Maybe someone is living there or bought an data plan in south korea before? Thanks for your help!

So I got a new (old) blackberry bold 9330, and just got it unlocked so I could use my sim card on it. It works, but if I try to do some things (like use the browser), it says the its not part of my plan, Even though when I put it in my other phone, it works just fine.

Title pretty much explains it all. I've been playing racing sims and other driving simulators for a few years with just a controller, and I'm ready to purchase a racing wheel to improve my experience. I know very little about racing wheels, other than Logitech's G27 and G29 wheels. I know that thrust master makes good wheels, but I'm not sure which ones would be recommended for me. The generous amount of buttons that come on the G29 really appeals to me, and pedals with a clutch are a must. A stick shift isn't really all that important to me, as I plan on just using the paddle shifters on the wheel in conjunction with the clutch. I'm looking for something in the price range of the G29 ($275 USD), but obviously cheaper is better. I'll be using it to play Project Cars, Dirt Rally, ETS2, ATS2, and others as I expand my library.

Hi all, I am looking to upgrade my machine or even go brand new. Below is my current spec: https://i.gyazo.com/0c2aa34a6701817017bcc1388c636a05.png My budget is around £1000. I am a Sim Racer and gamer in general so that will be my main operation. I do small graphics and video work but primarily gaming and Sim Racing. I have never Overclocked before, there do not know if that would be an option? What would people recommend for this type of setup? Many thanks

Hello! Just got myself 3x 1080p 60hz displays for my simrig. But im having trubble getting them all to work at once. No matter what connection i use (Dvi, Hdmi, Dp) the last screen connected to the gpu(1070 gtx) shows it has signal, but goes into power saving mode and blackscreens/turns off/go's to sleep. Are there any settings i might have overlooked that need to be enabled to get the last screen working? * Drivers are up to date * Screen Sleep mode is disabled in Power settings

Hey guys, I was wondering if there was any way to connect a SIM card to my laptop, perhaps through a USB port or an RJ-45 jack in order to have LTE connectivity on my laptop (which doesn't natively have a SIM slot). I'm not sure if this is possible, but I don't see why not as there are USB to WiFI adapters, but I haven't been able to find any adapters during, admitedly rather short, searching around time on Google. Thanks for your help

I bought a new phone a couple weeks back and with it have started the process of changing carrier. In the interim, I have been using my old phone with my old carrier. I have already paid for the first month of the plan, however my phone number has not been transferred yet (I've told the new carrier my number, but not given the final ok yet). Today, I received the SIM card from my new carrier in the mail and put it into my new phone. On startup, I received a notification that I had 2 new texts. I opened the notification and there were two texts from 4 days ago, sent by people that I know, that I had never, and still haven't, received on my old phone. I have texted back and forth with both people since that time with all messages coming to my old phone. There was an incredibly short period where I had 0 texts left (TracFone doesn't do unlimited texting), that I believe was no longer than a hour or two and I'm pretty sure didn't line up with these two texts. How and why could this happen? I'm worried that I could have missed some other texts and a little perplexed as to how they came to my new phone with the new SIM card. If it matters, I'm going from a Galaxy s7 to a Pixel 3a and from TracFone to Verizon.

Hi, guys! ? I need some of your help in search for the router, that would: be easy to transport from place to place and quick to set up, access the Internet from SIM cards (so it has to be 4G LTE capable - 5G in Poland will not be seen soon, so let’s not bother with that), allow up to 100 devices connected at the time, be configurable so that only traffic to/from a specific website would be possible. There are several reasons why we wouldn’t opt for providing internet service to it by wire, so let’s skip it for now. The price is not a concern, but let’s stick to the maximum of 300-350$, although I believe less would be sufficient. If connecting this many devices t that single router would be a problem or simply a bad idea, then access points are an option too, but then again, the router has to support these and there should be no problem with moving all of the equipment. I know that bandwidth provided by LTE is certainly not too much for this many hosts, but after rather extensive discussions with clients we believe that’s our only reasonable option for what we’re trying to achieve, which is essentially a mobile hotspot for many users just for visiting one specific website. If you have any ideas, please let me know, it’s very important to me! Thanks in advance Thomas

Recently bought the Samsung Galaxy J8 off of eBay. Their is a stick on the top (see picture). Does it mean I have to make a call with a Southeast Asian Sim card first over 5 minutes, just so I can use my T-Mobile one? If so, that's seems absurd, what's the reasoning behind it?

So as I'm sure any of us using Epic know, they gave away(Or are giving away) Farm Simulator 2019, so of course being someone who likes to veg out on Farm Simulator, I got it. However its running really bad, like the video isn't great, I haven't done a true FPS test of it, but its definitely not even 30FPS in places. Is the game just poorly optimized? Is my Hardware not good enough for Farm Simulator? Like I've never had issues before with most newer titles. I've got 16GBs of Ram, a Ryzen 5 2600 3.9Ghz, and an RX580 4GB Power Color Red Dragon.
