Hello everyone, I have a problem with my pc which happened 2 months ago all of a sudden. my pc randomly shutdown in some games like Tekken 8, valorant or lethal compagny. doesn’t happen in cyberpunk, bf2042 or other intensive game. benchmarks and stress tests don’t make PC crash. two different crashes occuring, first one is pc shutting down/turn off completly. Second one is pc freezing and audio is still going but in loop. crash and freeze don’t happen in idle. temps are ok, usage are ok. send my pc to a shop to get a diagnostic : they told me it was GPU driver related (false, because I had uninstalled with DDU several times and even with older driver) What i tried : fully reset my pc, installed windows 10 again —> changed nothing installed windows 11 —> changed nothing changed my ram —> changed nothing the shop I sent my pc told me they changed the cpu and they still had the problem so now, I don’t know what to do anymore. Could you guys tell me what it can be coming from ? MOBO ? PSU ? my pc specs : asus rog strix b550-a gaming plus corsair rm850x 80 gold plus rx 6800 xt sapphire nitro+ Corsair 4x8go vengeance pro 3600MHz ryzen 7 5800x all disk are healthy like I said temp are always below 70° and crashes can happen even with a 30% usage or 70% usage, it’s random thanks in advance, you guys are my last help.. I don’t know how I will be able to fix my pc otherwise..

So I have been having this issue for the past few months. It's a new system not even a year. The problem: My system randomly shutdown either while playing games, doing some editing work or just sitting idle watching YouTube. It's not only random shutdown, sometimes it's just random reboot. Initially it happened (random reboot or shutdown) only if I did any work which required my GPU like gaming or editing but then it suddenly started working absolutely fine without fixing anything for a week or so. Then the problem surfaced again without wany warning. Things I have done to fix this issue: 1) I have already replaced the motherboard once as the whole system is still under warranty. 2) I have already replaced the CPU. 3) I bought UPS as the place I'm living in witnesses extremely amount of power cuts. I have also noticed whenever there's a random shut down or reboot the Ez Debug DRAM LED on my motherboard stays on. This happens in certain occasions only. On the other hand this LED staying on doesn't happen everytime just sometimes. Also when my system shuts down my keyboard lights are still on indicating keyboard is getting detected but my mouse is not. The whole system is running, the fans are working fine but the display goes. Even my problem is inconsistent. Sometimes it's just a shut down, sometimes it's a reboot, sometimes the display goes away but the system is running, sometimes the DRAM LED is on and sometimes it's not (indicating there's nothing wrong with the RAM). Please I really need some help. I know I might have to replace certain parts but whici one ti be exact. The PSU, RAM or the GPU. Hello everyone, I’m reaching out for help with an ongoing issue where my PC abruptly powers off during gaming sessions, and I’ve been unable to pinpoint the cause. This issue does not occur during regular use or less demanding games, but consistently happens when playing more graphically intensive games. So far, I’ve conducted extensive testing, including: • CPU stress tests • GPU stress tests • RAM tests • Complete system reset All tests showed no issues, and the system reset did not resolve the problem. Here are the specs for reference: • AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core processor • 16GB RAM • NVIDIA GeForce 2060 • 750W power supply I’ve ensured all software and drivers are up to date and have been monitoring temperatures, which remain within normal ranges. The problem persists across multiple graphics cards, so I’ve ruled out the GPU as the cause. I’m now considering potential issues with the power supply or motherboard but would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions from the community. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem or could offer advice on what to test next? Thank you for any assistance you can provide!

Hey people! I have had my pc pc shut off randomly during gaming since i built it and i have honestly tried everything (i think) to try and troubleshoot and fix this issue. My Specs: Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX Motherboard rev 1.3 RTX 4070 TI Super TUF 16GB VRAM Ryzen 7 7800X3D_ Kingston FURY Beast DDR5-6000 C36 DC - 32GB (AMD EXPO)_ 850W PSU Plus Gold Certified_ What I've tried: (probably forgotten a few things on this list but please give some ideas) Completely uninstall and re-install Nvidia Drivers Tried a different GPU (RTX 4070 TI) so its not a defect on the gpu thats causing this Used to use 700W PSU (A few years old) then yesterday bought a 850W new PSU, issue still continued) Checked temperatures on the components and they are not overheating Checked Reliabilty Viewer & Event Viewer for any weird things that could have happend on or right before shutdown) Reinstalled Windows 11 Tried also simple stuff like different power cable and plugging it directly into the socket in the wall Have reset CMOS too and still had the problem with all default BIOS Settings Tried different power plan to lower power consumption Tried Windows game settings like Game Mode & HAGS both on and off If anyone has any ideas on what more i could try or what the issue might be then please let me know!

Hello everyone, I'm facing a recurring issue with my gaming PC that I built two years ago. It's been running smoothly until recently when it started to shut down unexpectedly during graphically intense gaming sessions. It handles less demanding games like Minecraft or Smite without any problems, but when I switch to more demanding titles, it just powers off with no error message or warning. I thought it was a GPU problem initially, but after testing with three different graphics cards, the issue persists, which leads me to believe it might not be related to the GPU after all. I'm hesitant to keep purchasing new parts without identifying the root cause of the problem. Has anyone experienced something similar, or could you provide any insights into what could be causing these sudden shutdowns? I'm at a loss here and would greatly appreciate your help and suggestions. Here are my PC specs for reference: - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core processor - 16GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce 2060 - 750W power supply Thank you in advance for your time and help!

I built this rig in July 2022 and bought all the parts around that time except for the case which is from 2015. This is my computer: Bought in July 2022: CPU: Intel Core i5-12600K Processor, 3.7 GHz w/ 10 (6P + 4E) Cores / 16 threads Motherboard: Gigabyte B660M DS3H AX DDR4-3200, 7.1 Audio, Dual M. 2, 2.5G LAN, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, RGB Fusion CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO V2 CPU Cooler w/ LGA1700 Memory: ADATA XPG GAMMIX D10 16 GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Storage: Western Digital Black SN850 1TB NVMe M.2 PCI-E x4 SSD Power Supply: Corsair RM White Series RM750 80+ Gold Fully Modular ATX Power Supply, 750 W OS: Was on Windows 10 Pro Retail then upgraded to Windows 11 BIOS Vers: F6a Temperature: constantly around 20°C Bought in 2015: Case: Fractal Design Define R5 ATX Mid Tower Case I have built computers with my friend and this is our 6th build together and this rig has been problematic. Here are my issues: 1. Whenever a peripheral (not keyboard or mouse) plugged into any USB port (front (Case) or back (motherboard) and properly disconnected after use, the computer would shut down after 4-6 hours. 2. Shutdown is random and without warning. It would display “shutting down” message: Once shut down, the power button on the case will not allow me to power on the computer. It would need to wait for around 2 hours before the power button can power on the computer or the computer may try to turn itself back on but then immediately shuts down at random. 3. If the computer does power up, the boot failure message from BIOS will show Selecting either option 1 or 2 will allow me to boot to Windows with no issues. 4. Once the computer has randomly shut down once, it will randomly shut down even without any peripherals connected to any USB ports. Keyboard and mouse have stayed connected at all times. The computer would not be able to keep itself on for as short as 20 minutes and as long as 90 minutes. Once it shuts down, it will return the state in step 2 to 4. 5. The problem can only be resolved if I reset the computer via Windows (full deletion of all files and reinstall Windows (either via USB or cloud). The problem will occur again whenever I connect via USB port. What I have tried and the problem persists: Since the problem occurred while it had Windows 10, I have upgraded to Windows 11 I have replaced the power supply unit with another The set up is originally plugged into a power bar, but I have plugged into the wall socket and also used a different power bar. I have also tried plugging into different wall sockets in my house. House is 60 years old but had undergone renovations 15 years ago so the wall sockets were also installed at that time. I have detached the RAM and try booting one stick at a time and in different slots. I have detached all hard drives. I have replaced the keyboard and mouse. I have used different USB peripherals: Different cables to charge phones or other mobile devices USB drives Hard drive docks USB hub I have taken out every component within the case and reseated it twice. Computer is left on all the time and the power management settings are set to not shut down. Computer is set to restart itself if it shuts down. This problem did happen before I bought the new parts with my old rig but my old rig was 8+ years old and the processor was running slow so I thought it was time to build a new one anyway. Initially, the computer worked fine until I started using the USB ports. If I reset the entire computer (full wipe), and not use any USB ports (except for keyboard and mouse), the computer would stay on. This shutdown issue is with or without any of my external hard drives attached. I don't have any lose or extra wires either. I first brought it to the computer repair shop and dropped off all the peripherals that I usually used. They only identified that the USB hub as the culprit in shorting the rig. However, I only used the USB hub after this shutdown problem occurred so I am certain that it's not the hub. The shop was only able to resolve the BIOS failure message by selecting the Windows boot. I brought it home and plugged in my usual USB drive in the front panel of my case and ejected it as usual and it started doing that shutdown cycle again. I brought it back to the repair shop and they have tried updating and rolling back BIOS and the problem persisted. Burn test and mem test revealed no issues. The repair shop then said it may be the motherboard, but then later said it may be the AIC connectors on the front panel of the case. They bypassed my case and used the front panel of a different case and the computer has not shutdown for 5 days but they also did not try attaching any peripherals yet which I am getting them to try this week as this was the trigger to my issues. Their suggestion is to replace the connector as "workaround" to turn on the computer at will since the power button of my case will not be used but my concern is keep the computer on and I am unsure if this workaround will help. I did see this on another forum with the similar issue: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/pc-is-randomly-shutting-itself-down-and-several-hours-later-starting-itself-again.291075/ Any advice on what I should do?

Hello dear forum users! Please help me! I have a problem with my PC randomly shutting off during gaming. It happens exactly like when there is a power outage, except the RGB lights on my RAM stay on. After shutting off, the pc seems to try to re-launch itself after like 2-3 seconds, but it fails and only the ram lights stay on. If I click with the mouse or push the power button (pushing once, not holding, If I hold the ram lights shut off too) nothing happens. Waiting for a few minutes will do nothing. After this happens the only way I can get the PC to start up again is if I unplug the whole thing from the wall, push the power button to release any power left inside, wait for like 20 seconds and turn it back on. Then it turns on sort of like normal, it turns on once, shuts off, then turns on fully after 4-6 seconds (it does like a cycle) and then it is fully functional once again. This shut-off (as far as I observed) only happens when I am gaming on demanding games, and after at least 2-3 hours of gaming, and randomly. Sometimes it won't happen for days, sometimes it happens twice a day etc. Context: Here are the specs: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz (running at 4,7 Ghz oc-d, never had problems with that) GPU: asus rog strix OC 2070 super Ram: G skill tridentZ rgb 3200mhz 4x8gb mobo: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING PSU: Be quiet! 750W Straight Power 11 +! Might be important: I have recently installed another set of the G-skill ram (2x8gb more, it is exactly the same model timing and everything, though it is about 4 years newer in terms of production) Troubleshooting I've tried already: I thought that the addition of the new ram sticks may have just jumped over my 750W PSU's capabilities, so I lowered maximum CPU usage to 85% in windows power plan, and put nvidia control panel's power setting to optimal power savings instead of prefer max performance. (I have no idea if these do anything to really help me tho, I'm kind of a noob.) If you have any suggestions or know what is going on, please tell me. Thanks all.

Half the time when I try to shutdown/restart my pc running windows 11 I get a "This app is preventing shutdown" message. The app it shows that is preventing shutdown has no name, only an icon, that I can't identify. It doesn't always appear, and I can force shutdown, but it's rather annoying and suspicious since I can't identify it. I can't screen capture on the shutdown screen, so I remade the Icon in ms paint. Hopefully someone can help me find out what and why I get that app. Note that it doesn't appear in the manager.

I recently upgraded my pc to AM5 and got a new PSU. After some driver issues i reinstalled windows and all the drivers and then it seemed to work for almost a month. However I didn´t really push it to the limit. only played pretty light games... Today i downloaded Fortnite and imediately got a warning about my drivers not beeing up to date. I wanted to check in AMD Adrenaline but although it was installed i couldnt open it. So i reinstalles adrenalin and Updated the Drivers. In Order to get my Logitec webcam to work i had to disable Kernel isolation. Then after aprox. 10 minutes of gaming i got a black screen and my PC Powered Off. That happened 3-4 times. i Thought it might be the logitec driver so i removed it, reenabeled Kernel isolation and used the webcam with the standard windos driver. Game still crashed... I thought it might be the game so i reinstalled the Game and it worked for 2 hours. But then i got a blackscreen again... I checked wether my cpu overheated but it didnt... i ran a benchmark but that worked fine... How can i find out what causes that blacckscreen? I think it might be that the PSU doesnt have enough power (it has 600W Output).... System: Ryzen 5 7600 (not x) Radeon rx 7600 xt Sharkoon 600W non modular PSU Motherboard: PRO A620M-E / MS-7e28 running bios version 3.5 SanDisk SDSSDH3 1T00 running windows 11 Pro 10.0.22631 Build 22631 thank you in advance! Joshua edit: I also tend to get havy lag and freezes for 1 or 2 seconds before the blackscreen i never had lag in fortnite and my pc should be better now... and it runs fine for the most part....

I have an HP EliteBook 840 G8. When I shut it down, windows turns off but the laptop itself stays on (proven by the fact the buttons still have their lights on). It overheats and consumes battery while in this half awake state, but the fans don't work till it reaches a critical point. I tried shutting down through cmd, I tried holding shift before clicking on shutdown, same issue. I turned off fast boot from windows and bios. I updated windows, did a fresh install. I replaced ram sticks, and it still has this issue. I did the UEFI diagnostics, everything was green without issues. Only thing I couldn't try is update the bios, I still can't figure out how to do it. I tried updating it within the bios menu, but it gave me some error about network. As seen in the vid, when it's in this state, I can't even turn it back on to windows unless I fully turn it off first. Any advice is appreciated, including how to fix the network error in bios. Current bios release date: 06/26/2023. Version: T37 Ver.01.14.00. laptop won't turn off.mp4

For the past few months I've had an issue where my PC just refuses to go to sleep. I've been troubleshooting this issue since it started, I've exhausted all the fixes and troubleshooting I could find and It's still not fixed. The last thing I tried was a clean boot, and while it seemed to work initially and I could put the PC to sleep, it failed to sleep the second time I tried and since then Sleep has worked, so it's spotty at best. I've also had a few instances where when I try to just shutdown the PC it does the same thing as putting to sleep. Other than the issues sleeping and occasional shutdown, my PC runs perfectly. I can work, game, watch videos etc. with no issues, BSODs or stutters. I'm near the point of just reinstalling Windows, but as the Repair install and clean boot didn't fix the issue, I'm beginning to worry it's Hardware related, not Software. I'm really hoping someone can shed some light or maybe guide me in the right direction. An Update: I just switched all my startup programs back on and tried to restart my PC to apply the changes and it actually froze restarting and since it was restarting the monitors stayed on and I DID get a BSOD. The Stop Code was Driver Power State Failure. My PC Specs: Optiplex 9020 BIOS Version A25 4x4 RAM i7 4790 Non-K Zotac 1070 ti Mini EVGA 750w 80 Plus Gold The Symptoms: When trying to put PC to sleep the monitors will stop receiving signal properly, the secondary HDD spins down, the screens turn off completely, but the fans for the CPU/case/GPU remain spinning and the SSD/HDD activity light continues to flicker as if it's trying to process something. Eventually after about 5 minutes the fans will start to kick up a bit faster, the HDD will audibly spin back up and then after a few seconds the PC just turns off instead of sleeping. It has actually done this a few times when simply trying to do a regular shutdown as well. No blue screen or anything. Each time this happens I get an Event viewer Kernel-Power ID 41 as well as an Error 6008. Most recently I've been receiving an event error 2545 and today several nvlddmkm ID 0. Though the later seems unrelated as the issue has been around longer than that event. I've also just today had an issue where when trying to enter Safe Mode, the PC shuts itself down right before I can select a Safe Mode option. I've had this issue for a year now since i got the computer it would sometimes go away for days but it came back again. My pc would randomly shut down with NO BSOD and NO MINIDUMP. All connected devices turn off and the screen shows no display while fans are running and i have to flip the switch on the psu to turn the pc on again. It would often happen while launching a game. Things i've tried -all the basic fixes from youtube -tests like furmark/memtest/occt -updating/deleting useless drivers with DDU -tweaking bios settings -turning off fast boot -tweaking windows power settings -numerous scans -sending back the power supply to the manufacturer just to hear "we ran a diagnosis and nothing was wrong with it" after 45 days -updating bios and downloading everything motherboard related -turning off c states -turning off xmp When i tried OCCT tests: -CPU test would shut down pc after around 15-20 seconds -linpack test would shut down the pc instantly -Power test can run for minutes before a shut down- -GPU and memory tests didnt get any problems Pc specs: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X MSI MPG A750GF 750W 80 Plus Gold Gigabyte B550 GAMING X V2 SiletniumPC Ventum VT4 TG SiletniumPC Fera 5 120mm GOODRAM 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL18 IRDM PRO Deep Black Inno3D GeForce RTX 3070 Ti X3 LHR 8GB GDDR6X WD 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe Blue SN570 Crucial BX500 480GB 2TB HDD

So I recently upgraded my computer, and I have been noticing long periods where my frame rate plummets, and this happens in multiple games too. I did some investigating, and when my frame rate drops, my GPU utilization drops too, whereas my CPU utilization rises. I have screenshots of this happening in Hitman 3 and Diablo 4. So far, I have not noticed a cause of the frame rate drops. For example, it doesn't seem to matter how crowded an area is in Hitman, there can be 30 NPCs on screen or none, and the frame drops still occur (or don't). In the worst case, I have experienced a complete system shutdown in both games after extended periods of this lag. It's a complete shutdown, like if the power in my house went out suddenly. I was thinking that these were from the transient power spikes I've read troubles the Geforce 30 series, but given that the lag is coming from high cpu usage and low gpu usage, I don't know what to think anymore. I would appreciate some advice on next steps to help fix this. Current Specs CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D GPU: RTX 3080 (EVGA FTW3) Motherboard: ROG Crosshair VII Hero Wi-Fi RAM: 32GB 3200 Mhz DDR4 (2 kits of this) PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000 T2 I don't know if it helps, but I upgraded from a Ryzen 2700X, a 2080 Super, and just one of the kits of RAM. I did update my motherboard bios and do a fresh install of video drivers during the upgrade. I attached screenshots of GPU/CPU utilization from Hitman and Diablo, obtained with Geforce Experience. Thanks in advance for any help.

For a while now when I shutdown my PC, my CPU fan + case fans would still run after shutdown except GPU fans, but the LEDs of GPU is still on after shutdown. This just started occurring randomly one day and did not think much of it But when I shutdown my PC today ONLY my CPU fan and 1 of my 3 case fan was still running aswell as the GPU fans. When I shutdown the PC the screen goes black and then you can hear the the fans start to spin full speed after shutdown The CPU fan is connected to my motherboard and the 1 case fan that keeps running is connected directly to my PSU via a molex connector The other two is connected to my motherboard but does not spin I have to cut the power to PSU to make the fans stop And when I restore power to the PSU, without turning on my PC to boot, the CPU fan and GPU fans and that 1 case fans just starts running again If I power on the PC the other fans start to spin and the PC boots up normally I haven't changed any settings or installed any new programs recently I already disabled fast start up Does anyone know what might be the problem here?

How come when i press the "Update and shutdown" button, the computer reboots, updates, and then reboots back into windows and not actually shutting down like i want it to?

I work as a professional video editor and have been having an issue with my desktop. I installed a Ryzen 9 5900x back in December of 2022. Since then, I have had a frustrating problem where when I utilize certain softwares, my desktop shuts off its screens and all fans go full rpm. It will not restart unless I manually shut off the PSU and restart the entire machine. This has occurred during random usage of Adobe Premiere, the last level in the game Hitman 3, and after 20 minutes of playing the game Red Dead Redemption 2. The only way I can re-create this crash consistently is with the final level in Hitman 3. The other two softwares are not consistent enough. This does not occur with other softwares other than these (that I've found). Here is the list of things I have tried already to diagnose. Ran a single-core and multi-core cinebench test. No crash in either Replaced my PSU with a new RM850x. Still crashes during final Hitman 3 level. Re-seated my CPU. Still crashes during final Hitman 3 level. Re-seated both sticks of RAM. Also ran game with one of each seated to see if it was a memory problem. Still crashes during final Hitman 3 level. Replaced my RTX 2070 with a new RTX 2080 SUPER. Still crashes during final Hitman 3 level. Updated BIOS and all graphics drivers. Still crashes during final Hitman 3 level. Dusted and cleaned inside of case. Still crashes during final Hitman 3 level. I am hoping to at the very least diagnose what is wrong with it, if not fix it altogether. Keeping track of temps, I am noticing a consistent 80-85 Celsius while the CPU is working hard. 44-54 Celsius at Idle. I thought it may be an overheating issue, but other games/softwares that I use on the regular are more strenuous than the 3 that cause the full crash and the desktop has no issues with them. Windows crash .DMPs seem to not exist for this style of crash as well. I desperately need to use this machine confidently for video editing work again, so these crashes need to be resolved. Please let me know your thoughts! Hey everyone, I'm turning to this forum to see if someone can aid me in solving a mysterious problem I am encountering. A real who done it. I'll include as much information as I can, but anything I've missed, let me know. Part 1: The Mysterious Death (problem description) I've recently built a new system (with the obvious aid of LTT). This system consists of firsthand parts and works tremendously well in most cases. 'EXPO I' is enabled (via the BIOS), but no other settings have been adjusted or played with (default profiles across the board). In the last couple of months, I started to play some more beefy games, a particular favorite of mine is Hell Let Loose. This is where I stumbled across the problem initially (as far as I can recall). "Hell Let Loose" is far from optimized, but with a couple of additional Steam launch settings, the game smooths out around the edges. Upon first introducing these launch settings, I put all suggested components into place. One such setting was `-dx12`, which forces the game to use DirectX 12. Shortly after launching the game, my PC (without any warning signs) shuts off. There is no lag, stutter, or freeze that indicates an issue. It's almost as if someone has flicked off the wall outlet. After this point, the system cannot be turned back on with the PC power button. The wall switch (or PSU switch) must be turned off for ~10 seconds, and then the power button works again (and turns on as if nothing happened). Part 2: Following the breadcrumbs (troubleshooting steps taken) At first, I thought this might be a heat problem. ITX + high-end gear, seemed like a reasonable assumption. With the AMD 'Adrenalin' tool on my second monitor, I played again; Constantly keeping an eye on temperatures. Sure enough, I was hitting 85+ degrees (celsius) on my GPU junction. As such, I reduced my video settings and tried again. Unfortunately, I didn't see any temperature improvements with this change. With an FPS overlay, I saw I was getting 300+ frames per second. So, I turned on VSYNC in the game, and BINGO, temperatures dropped significantly (1440p 144hz). Unfortunately, this did not resolve the crashing issue. If not a temperature related issue (seeing as I was now sitting comfortably around 60 degrees on the CPU and 70 for GPU junction), then what? Perhaps it was one of the launch settings I enabled for this game. Removing all the launch settings, I was able to play for a longer period without a crash, but this unfortunately left the game in a less than desirable state. After trying multiple permutations of the launch options, I found that removing the '-dx12' setting removed my issues. Problem solved, life goes on... and then, it came back. After doing some research, I thought it might be my PSU. This was an initial concern for my setup, as I would normally like to shoot well above the recommended specs for my system. Unfortunately, such PSU specs were not available to me at the time. I thought that being 50W above the recommendation would be enough wiggle room. In order to test this theory, I ran my system through a series of stress tests. Using the following tools: - Ryzen Master: CPU stress test - AMD's Adrenalin: GPU test - OCCT: CPU, GPU, RAM and PSU stress tests Each of these tests were run for about 10 minutes each, and consecutively. My system didn't crash and continued to work normally after the hour of stress. Crashes were infrequent, and had no obvious link between what was happening in-game, and when they would occur. Part 3: The washed away footprint (more details that might help) - Whilst I play games, I also watch YouTube on a second monitor. Most instances of random shutdowns occur when multi-tasking in this manner, but I've also encountered some shutdowns without multi-tasking. - Crashes don't occur when programming or internet browsing. I can be running a local host server, with 20+ search tabs, on Discord whilst playing a YouTube video, for 12 hours without issue. - Gaming is the only common denominator. Hell Let Loose is the most common game that crashes my system, but Minecraft (with shaders) has also triggered this issue. - REPRODUCING: Without fail, playing Hell Let Loose, with '-dx12' enabled will cause this issue; Within 5 minutes of playing. - I'm using a multi-box for the two displays and the PC. The multi-box has surge protection, and is reasonably high end. - My PC sits on my desk, and the ambient room temperature (middle of winter) is fairly cool (don't have a thermometer on hand, but I'd estimate 16-20 degrees). - Time of day, and session duration don't seem to play a factor in when the issue occurs. Part 4: Tools of the trade (System Specs) - CPU: 7800X3D || Driver v??? (Windows says it's up to date via device manager) - CPU Fan: Noctua NH-D12L - GPU: Sapphire PULSE, RX 7900 XTX || Driver v23.7.1 - RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB (2x16) - PSU: Lian Li SP850 - SSD (OS): 980 Pro 500GB - SSD (Games): 990 Pro 2000 - MOBO: ASUS X670E-I || BIOS v1616 (latest) - CASE: NR200P (non max) - OS: Windows 11 || Updated, and still having issues Part 5: Final notes I was cautiously aware that my PSU might be problematic. I wasn't sure if Lian Li made quality PSU's, nor was I confident that 850W was enough. It's 80+ gold rated, so I thought this would be enough. I am using an SP750 in a less powerful system (recommended 500W), which doesn't seem to have any troubles at all. Seeing as I'm not able to reproduce the issue with stress tests. I don't know enough about PSU's to be confident that it is the cause of this problem. The symptoms seem to line up, but I can't reproduce this error by putting my system under load. I'm also unable to get any logs of the event, as the system shuts down randomly (where the logging trace buffer is lost). I am very close to purchasing a new PSU, but I wondered if this community had any insight, or more tests to be confident that my PSU is the issue. One potential case (that I'm not sure how to test), is that some event during my gaming sessions, requires the 7900xtx to spike in its request for power. Normally, the 7900xtx (with Hell Let Loose) sits well under 50% of the available wattage availability. Could it be possible that some event requires my GPU to need such a significant power draw? Another potential is that I need to directly plug my PC into mains power. That somehow, my PC is requesting more from the multi-box than available. I'm not able to find any evidence that this is the case, but maybe someone else has more knowledge than me here? I've undervolted the GPU for the time being. I'll have to wait and see if this creates a more stable atmosphere. Any insights and comments are appreciated! I'm more than happy to attempt any solutions. Given I have a fairly reliable means of reproducing this issue, I'll be able to test suggestions relatively quickly. Cheers

Hi there, I've recently got myself a secondhand QNAP TS-251+ 2 bay NAS that was no longer being used from work. Since it has been sitting in storage for some time, the original power supply was lost, so I picked up a compatible 12v 5a power supply from ebay. I've found that the NAS only boots when there are no drives connected. Each time I connect the drives when prompted to by the setup guide the NAS seems to lose power. The drive that I'm trying to install is a WD red 4TB drive. I've had a look at the listed power input specs from the sticker on the NAS and online and it says that it takes 12v 5a input. So far, I've tried two different 12v 5a power supplies, both resulting in the same issue. I managed to update it's firmware to version 5.0.1.2425 but can't install any drives. Would anyone know if this is likely due to the non-genuine power supply or if there is potentially a problem with the NAS or the drive?

This post continues from here. I crashed again today. it was suggested I should go into event viewer, after my crash. I did. Haven't exactly been using event viewer before and I was wondering how I can read the event viewer event. I found it, its a "critical" error. Event ID 41, which just means it crashed the pc. I have attached my event viewer crash. I hope somebody can tell me which component is causing my pc to crash, or give me some useful information for troubleshooting. Since my last post, I have cleared CMOS. Just removed 1 of my 2 ram sticks and gonna wait for it to crash again and switch to the next stick. I will be replying in the comments, however it might be a while, because I am gonna go cook dinner. Thank you, Magnus. Crash.txt

So my windows 11 won't go into sleep mode. Even If i press the Sleep button on the power options in start menu, it still shuts off. If I put the lid down it shuts off or press the power button it shutsoff (even though i've selected the sleep option in "change what closing the lid" settings screen. It's been happening for about 10 days now. I've checked the normal stuff like sleep mode is enabled in settings. The settings seem to be fine. I've even restored default settings for the powerplan and restored defaults in advanced power settings aswell. The system refuses to sleep when plugged in or in battery. Please help

In my opinion, this is a super weird problem and i tried everything to fix it. While gaming, the PC turns off randomly and just boots after like 5 seconds like normal automatically. I am not sure what's wrong. OC is disabled and drivers are up-to-date Specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CMtpcb (Empty = Unknown) Temps: CPU 75*C, Everything else around 50*C BIOS Version: Intel Corp. BGP6710J.86A.2209.2012.0717.2302, 17/7/2012 (I don't know how to update) I really only play 3 games (FIFA 23, Fortnite, Rocket League) but it only shuts off in FIFA 23 and rarely in Fortnite. If i'm lucky, it won't turn off at all.

I have been experiencing random crashes for a few months now. Its super annoying to troubleshoot, because it can take multiple days between each crash. The whole pc shuts down and reboots itself again. It can happen when doing literally anything. in a game, just surfing the web, anything. Issues has occurred on windows 10 and 11. I tried a new PSU but that didn't fix it. I have tried running these stress tests: OCCT, MemTest64, CrystalDiskMark, Cinebench, among a few 3Dmark tests. None of these tests made a crash happen. The crashes feel really random. The crashes started happening, after updating my BIOS. I have since then tried every version of BIOS, in which it has crashed in each. I used the Asus AI Suite to update and downgrade BIOS. I am now on the latest version. Its just super annoying that it takes so long between crashes. Makes it annoying to troubleshoot. My next troubleshooting steps are: CMOS clear, remove 1 ram stick. I would like other suggestions, and hopefully we can figure this out together. I'm trying to find out what is causing my PC to randomly shutdown without warning before it ends up damaging something, but I'm having trouble finding the cause. My build: Dell Optiplex 9020 MT i7-4790 16gb DDR3 EVGA 650w GQ 80+ Gold 500gb SSD 4tb WD Blue 5400 RPM I recently upgraded my GPU from an EVGA GTX 750 ti to a Zotac GTX 1070 Mini and since then my PC has randomly shutdown with no warning or BSOD/error codes. It did this three times before I sent the GPU (bought used on Ebay) back thinking it was a short in the GPU. I then bought a Zotac GTX 1070 ti Mini and the same thing just happened last night. Each time it's happened it's been after an entire day of usage. I work remotely so I'm on 8-10 hours working and then often 4-5 hours of gaming afterward. Out of the times it has happened, it's been after working all day and then at about the last (5th) hour of gaming. It seems to not matter how demanding the game is either. It has happened 3 times when playing Genshin Impact for roughly 30 minutes, after playing other games the rest of that time, but it also happened once playing Dead Rising 3 (a very low ask for this PSU, GPU and CPU.) This has also been with two different CPUs as I originally had the i5-4590 when this started happening, and it's still happening on the i7-4790. I've stress tested the GPU, CPU and PSU with MSI Kombuster, Superposition, GPUmem TEST, OCCT and nothing comes back in error and the temps an wattage stay within normal/safe levels. It's only when it's been a really long use day. I've ordered a PSU tester, but it seems like that's the likely cause. I just hope it hasn't damaged anything since it has OTP, OCP, OPP and OVP on it. The PSU is less than 3 years old so it's in warranty. My question is, does this sound like it's definitely the PSU, or is there something else I might be missing? Below is my case if it helps. I thought it might be my PSU overheating, but my case is pretty open and nothing else is overheating. I was also logging the system at the time of the last shutdown and noticed the GPUw had spiked right when the PC shutdown, but the wattage has been higher than this during normal gameplay with no issues. So maybe it is just a faulty PSU and the spikes trigger something in it?

Idk whats causing this problem , so when i start my motherboard the fans run for like 2 sec then it restarts and then it boots up again normal , but what it seems to be happening is that it resets my bios settings for some reason i already tried replacing the cmos battery and did the jumper reset same thing , p.s: this only happens when i remove the psu and cut the electrecity completly when i only regular shutdown it stays the same but when psu is off it does this weird thing also lately it be shutting down when im playing games not even demanding ones(league of legends...) and the tempatures are fine , pls i need help InShot_20210210_122602469.mp4
