So lately my computer has randomly been shutting down, usually while I am gaming or working for a few hours, where I get to receive this warning: My first thoughts where that temps where going too high, but I've checked that the cpu floats between 40ºC and 60ºC. And the gpu stays somewhat consistent around the 70ºC I've read that it could be due to voltage settings, but I don't understand much of this and haven't really messed with them if I remember correctly. (I attached an image from asus AI suite to see if it helps) Which leads me to think that the psu needs replacement, but I'd like to be near certain that it really is the psu before spending some money on a new one that might not fix the issue. For the past couple weeks I have been experiencing predictable shut downs while playing demanding games and performing intensive tasks, the two prime examples being Blender 2.8 and Elite Dangerous (within minutes of loading a save). Until last night, I had presumed that all of those crashes were isolated to Windows, as I was able to run Blender and play games just fine in Linux... until last night, when I saw my first shut-down while playing Elite Dangerous. Linux can apparently handle Blender fine, but Elite failed at the same point as it does within Windows. The temps never exceed 70C for GPU and CPU, which make me think that if it is a overheating issue, it's more of a sudden thermal spike causing an overheating shut down. I experienced the exact same shut downs a few years ago with GTA V, but the problem was solved when I lowered the min/max CPU states in the power plan settings. The same can not be said this time around, however... I lowered the min/max states all the way to 60/65 respectively, with the shut downs ever present. Before I was experiencing the predictable stream of shut downs, I was experiencing BSODs relating to memory management; these BSODs never happened during gaming and usually only happened shortly after powering the system on or while shutting it down, and usually only once a day. However, after running Windows' Memory Diagnostic Tool, no problems were found, and after several reseats of the RAM sticks, the problem went away. Within a day or so of clearing that error, those BSODs were replaced with predictable, albeit worse instantaneous shut downs, though about 10% of the time the system actually restarts like it's supposed to do. I ran MemTest86 overnight and it did not report any errors, so if there is something wrong with my RAM, Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool and MemTest86 are unable to find it. I'm dumbfounded as to what the culprit could be; faulty sensors, a failing motherboard, CPU, or GPU, or is it my disconnected CPU heatsink-to-motherboard mount? I'm at a complete loss, so whatever you fine, intelligent folks need to solve, or at least point me in the right direction of, my problem, please let me know and I'll gladly provide you with any and all info you need regarding the laptop.

Hello. Quite recently I bought an ultra wide monitor for my PC. It's actually the very first monitor I have that is connected through Display Port. Every time I stop using the computer, I also turn the display completely off, because I don't like the flashing power led when it's on stand by. I noticed that when I turn off the monitor before the PC, the PC will somehow stay running. The motherboard (Z370 AORUS Gaming 7) has RGB lighting that turns off, but the power led and all the fans (CPU, Case and GPU) remain on. The PC remains in this "running state" until I power on the display again. When I power on the display, the PC shuts down completely. Is there any way I can prevent this from happening? It's quite annoying to have to wait for the PC to shut down in order to turn off the display.

My Toshiba Satellite is always turn of by its self when i'm playing games. Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

Personally I am not why this keeps happening. I think it might be my PSU not having enough power. I have an Antec 650 Watt PSU. ___________________ Operating System Windows 8.1 64-bit CPU AMD FX-9590 Vishera 32nm Technology RAM 8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 Motherboard ASUSTeK Computer INC. So I recently installed a bios update from Gigabyte's website and downloaded it. Installed it no problem (first time updating bios on a custom build so I was a little worried) I built the pc on February 14 2014. But I would think a year is fairly short in the life of a pc. Since I updated the bios, my pc seems to shut down at random times. It normally happens on small workload situations but I can never duplicate the situation. When I boot my pc back up, the fans run much more than before it turned off. They stay that way for about 2 minutes and then calm back down. I clean out my pc regularly so I don't think it would be dust. It's not like my pc goes over 35 Celsius in these low workload conditions. Sometimes it's 10 minutes and it'll shutdown. sometimes 30 or not at all. I've noticed it only happens when I'm watching youtube or leaving it idle, but it's not my pc going to sleep. In case it's a power issue, here's everything about my setup I have a gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 rev.4.0 motherboard. I have a 700w psu and a Windforce gtx 770 that takes up 450w. AMD FX 8350 processor, 2 4gb sticks of corsair vengeance ddr3 ram and 2 2gb sticks of the same branding. I do have a lot of peripherals: Logitech C902, G502, G510s, and G35. My case is the NZXT Guardian and I have 1 ssd and 1 hdd. I doubt that would take up 700w but I'm not an electrician so I have no clue. If it's not power. I went ahead and looked at the windows logs and here's what I found that could be of importance 8:27:25 Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered. 8:45:37 The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. 8:45:49 The previous system shutdown at 2:51:05 PM on 9/6/2015 was unexpected. 8:45:51 The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) did not load: dam And that's all I know. I'm open to any ideas and appreciate any help given. Thanks!

At Intel IDF 2015, Intel has confirmed with the launch of their Skylake processors in 2H 2015 with their 100 series chipsets ready for shipment to motherboard manufactures in May of this year. Intel Skylake will be Intel's 6th generation mainstream processors, using a brand new socket LGA1151, that comes in either a dual core or quad core configuration. The processor itself will support either or both DDR4 and DDR3L memory. Note that DDR3L runs at a lower voltage than standard DDR3. According to JEDEC specs DDR3L runs at 1.35v, where as DDR3 runs at 1.5v. IMO the decision for DDR3L might be to keep in close range in with DDR4 as it runs at a even lower 1.2v. Along with the processors, are the Intel 100 series chipets. They will be 6 chipets to choose from with the enthusiast Z170 at the very top of the ladder. The Z170 chipset will feature 20x PCIe 3.0 lanes, 6x SATA 6Gb/s ports, 10x USB 3.0 (14 in total, including USB 2.0), support of up to 3x PCIe based storage, supporting Intel RST, and with partial support for overclocking on non K processors. Interestingly, the Z170 isn't the only chipset that's capable of the features mentioned, their Q170 chipset is exactly the same as the Z170, except the Q supports VPro, as it's catered towards business. Both of these chipset also supports graphic card configuration in single at x16, dual at x8, and triple at x8/x4/x4. So I have built a new computer. The hardware are these: MSI X99S SLI PLUS 8GB DDR4 Crucial Ballistix Corsair RM850 Intel Core i7-5820K 2TB Seagate Desktop SSHD CoolerMaster V8 GTS CPU Fan TP-Link TL-WDN4800 WiFi Card Graphics Card: NVidia GT610 or NVidia 9600GT Yes, I know, my graphics cards are trash, I only use them for a short period though until I save for the GTX970 and more ram. I in the beginning used the GT610 and then I changed it as I though it maybe had a problem but changing to 9600GT doesn't help. I have Windows 10 Technical Preview installed and every time that I use the computer for installation of drivers, going to the Internet and more stuff that aren't at all too powerful, the PC suddenly or gets stuck and then restarts or restarts immediately in the middle of use. I have also made an X pattern with the thermal paste that I think was maybe a little too much, although the temperatures never pass 40 Degrees Celcius, it's mostly around the 30's and 20's. I don't know what to do and what could be the problem or hardware doing it.. Any help ?

Hello, My Computer was working fine for the past 2 weeks, and suddenly it just shuts down and doesn't boot anymore. Can anyone tell me what exactly is happening, and more importantly, what I should do?

so recently i decided to clean my watercooling loop, all went well but a bit of water dripped down the motherboard. I dryed everything out and made sure there was no water so i decided to boot my computer up Everything was fine, games worked fine. No problems until i decided to shut down my computer. I clicked shut down and everything closed and proceeded to shut down but as soon as it does shuts down it turns back on again straight after. Tried holding down the power button on my case but same thing happened. Turned off then straight away turned on again. Was it possible that the water shorted something to cause it? if so im assuming the only way to fix it is by buying a new motherboard thanks

It keeps restarting randomly and I don't need to put it under load at all (it doesn't make any difference). It's not BSOD, it just quits (like a powercut) and then restarts. Sometimes it fails to restart and just tries again and again (like if someone is spamming the powerbutton) for a few seconds just to give up and then I have to turn the PSU off to be able to start the computer again. Sometimes the computer stays on for hours, and sometimes just a few minutes before it restarts..VERY unreliable ! I don't get any errors on the MOB. I have experienced that it says 04 or 03, not very common or necessarily related to my problem. I have been in contact with the costumer service where I bought the parts, but we haven't concluded with anything yet.. I was told to check the socket, and I found out that one of the pins were bent and possibly touching another pin, but I bent it back to its place. Can a shortcut between these pins cause this kind of problem even after it is "fixed"? I've stress tested every part of the computer for hours (until it sometimes quits).. I tested every memorystick seperate with Prime95 memtest but everything was fine during stressing. Specs of my dualboot Hackintosh/PC Gigabyte Z87X-OC (not force) i7 4770k 2x Asus DCUII GTX 760 SLI Kingston HyperX 16Gb 1600Mhz 4x4 Corsair AX760 Corsair H100i Asus Xonar DX Corair link for fans and H100I Windows 8.1 & Mavericks (two separate SSD's) Currently running the computer at stock... So here's the deal, I recently finished building my first computer. I installed Windows 8. Feeling good . Anyways, I recently noticed that whenever I turn on my computer for the first time after normally shutting down, it will turn off by itself on the first boot up of the day. After it turns off I might get lucky for it to only freeze on me. After the 3rd time of turning it back on it works fine and I no longer have any problems. What should I do? I'll list the parts that I have in case it helps: 1. Corsair Hydro Series High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H602. AMD Radeon Memory Performance Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) CL9 1.5V Unbuffered Internal Memory Module 3. Corsair Carbide Series 200R Windowed Compact ATX Case 4. AMD FD8320FRHKBOX FX-8320 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition 5. Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX DDR3 1800 AMD Motherboard GA-970A-UD3P 6. Corsair CX Series 600 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze ATX12V/EPS12V 552 Power Supply CX600M 7. Toshiba 3.5-Inch 1TB 7200 RPM SATA3/SATA 6.0 GB/s 32MB Hard Drive DT01ACA100 If there is any other info that I can post in order to help me with this issue that I may have missed, please let me know. Any suggestions are welcome.

I recently traveled home from uni with my computer and now it seems that my computer has been damaged in transit. When I got home it was pissing it down with rain so I had to carry it though with a towel over it but I still think some water might have gotten in, I doubt that is the main cause of any problems but it happened. None of the hardware in the PC is different from when I was at uni. I don't see how it could be an overheating issue considering nothing has changed and I haven't had any problems with overheating in this PC before. It mainly seems to turn off when I'm playing games but it has been turning off while watching videos on youtube or just being on chrome with mumble open talking to friends. I left it on doing nothing today for at least 3 hours without any issues though. I'm going to get some compressed air after xmas (I pretty much can't get out to get some till then) so I can properly clean the fans etc. but I'm convinced something else has gone wrong other than overheating. Any help would be appreciated.
