hello I bought an hp tower elitedesk800 g2 (core i5 6500 8gb ram). after the installation of all the drivers and all my software's when I pressed shut down in windows the system won't turn off until I force shut it down. I tried many versions of newer and older bios even some windows regedit nothing worked. I tried another one of the same specs and same bios configuration it did the same thing (I bought 40 Pices). For a last try, try i tried another i56500 cpu from a working tower it worked . the Question I ,what is the problem with these cpu's ? these are the cpu i tried (the one I am holding is the working one).

Hello, I recently installed a new video card. I replaced my Asus strix 970 with a gigabyte rtx 3060 ti gaming oc 8gb. I dit install the new drivers (unistalled the old ones) and updated windows. Unfortunately my Pc shuts down while i play a game. When i run my gpu at a high power setting my pc shuts down, also my pc seems to shut down when i crank up the setting to high and ultra. This also happens when i do a benchmark test at a High setting. My pc does not shut down when use my GPU at 50% power. I think that my power supply is to old (7years) and to weak. Do I need to replace my PSU to a newer and more powerfull one? Note: my GPU and CPU temps are normal, so I assume thats not the problem. My current setup: I7-4970 Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120 2 x G.Skill 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit (16gb) Main monitor 1440p 165hz Corsair Corsair VS650 (maybe the problem) msi b85-g41 pc mate Windows 10 gigabyte rtx 3060 ti gaming oc 8gb (new) (shuts down) Asus strix 970 (old) (does not shut down) What can i do?

Hello, I'm having an issue at the moment where my PC randomly turns off and won't post, I can usually run the PC just fine for a few days and it'll just randomly stop posting,I also can't shut off the computer while it's in this state unless I use the PSU power switch. The ram works perfectly fine in a different computer so that doesn't seem to be the issued. It go to the shutdown/restart screen and keeps on looping but never shutting down no matter how long i wait. until I hit the reset button and shutting it down with success afterwards. The thing is I hate doing it and I have search and tried everything from disabling fast startup, power plans edit, update drivers or more windows updates, virus scans, uplugged usb connections, sfc/scannow, DISM, closing all programs via task manager, added AutoEndTask to registry. Still this happens and sometimes it happens if my pc were to slow down or have trouble opening a program. I live in india and frequent power cut here is a norm. I have a inverter which takes around 2 second to activate whenever power cut off and again 2 seconds to deactivate when power comes back. So inorder to make sure pc stays on i use a microtek 650va ups.Microtek Line Interactive Legend 650 UPS System an Ideal Power Backup & Protection https://amzn.eu/d/2ssdl90 I have recently purchased a gtx 960 2gb and after that my pc has been shit down 4 times in 4 days. It doesn't shutdown every time piwer cut off but it sure shut down. I have checked cooler master psu calculator and it says even a 280 watt psu enough and my ups is 650va or 360 watts. Is the ups at fault here? It's still 2 months under warranty. P.S I have never used ups as a backup. It is only there to provide backup for 2 seconds until inverter takes control.

Over the past couple months my pc has been shutting off randomly with no warning, this has started happening since I got my 3050. At first everything was fine, no overheating or issues at all but then my pc started shutting off. I bought a new psu thinking it would fix the issue and it did for a couple weeks, then I googled everything I could do I had narrowed down my issue to the kernel power error 41 (63). After more googling I found a couple websites talking about it being software issues which was plausible as running dskskn and sfc revealed there were some corrupted files, they were fixed and the issue stopped, a couple weeks later it happens again. I reseated my ram and gpu, the pc turned off the next day. I think there may be something wrong with my plug or another piece of hardware. If anyone has any ideas of what can help then please come and help.

Hi ! Sorry for my bad englando. I have a huge problem with my pc and I can't find a solution. Before and foremost, here are my pc specs : AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor Asus TUF B450-PLUS GAMING EVGA RTX 3080 16 GO ram 3200 MHz (but due to crashes with the Ryzen, downed to 27xxMhz) PSU : Seasonic Focus Plus 750W Gold I don't know if I have to detail the models of the disk : 1 m.2 SSD 1 "regular" SSD 2 hard disk I have 3 screens : 2x 1080P and one 1440p (Maybe 3 screens is the problem but my brother with a Sapphire nitro + 6800XT) So, here's what happen when I launch a game : Let's say I launch a game like Hell Let Loose or Red Dead Redemption 2, I launch it, I load the game and then the pc shuts down and don't reboot. I can't reboot it either. To reboot it, I have to : -Switch the PSU to off position -Press the start button until the motherboard's RGB light turn off -Switch the PSU to on position And then I can boot it up. I don't know what can cause that. I don't think the PSU is defective, it's 3 years old. For the PSU, I calculated with the BEQUIET website, I don't know if it's accurate but here is the result : Temperature is fine, between 70-80 cause my case has a bad airflow. Both GPU and CPU temperature is normal. I don't think there's a short-circuit. GPU load is not even at 50% when launching Valorant yet it crashes. Here are a list of games I can't launch : Valorant Minecraft with shaders Hell let loose Red Dead Redemption So I don't know what to do but to ask for help on the Glorious LTT Forum. Thank you very much for reading that. Cheers

Summary Yahoo Answers will be shutting down on May 4th, 2021 at EST. Prior to this, on April 20th, the site will be put in read-only mode. After May 4th, users will be redirected to the Yahoo home page. Users have until June 30, 2021 to download their content. Try to get it started by the beginning of June though, as it can take up to 30 days for the data to be ready. Yahoo stated that if there is any feedback or comments about this, an email can be sent to yahoo_answers_sunset@verizonmedia.com. The shutdown will not have any impact on other services. My thoughts May the 4th be with you, but not everyone will be with us. Yahoo Answers, which is often great for both serious questions and for becoming a meme, will be leaving us. Frankly, I am puzzled by this. I would think Yahoo Answers is their biggest market, even after they were acquired by Verizon a few years back. I hope someone makes a backup, as the site is a big part of internet history. Rest in peace, old friend. Good day everyone, I have a particular situation where I recently added an AIO to my system and starting to have shutdowns. I have underclock my GPU a little bit and it seems to work fine; I am still puzzled on to where this extra power draw is coming from and causing my psu to trip. My system (before the upgrade): - Ryzen 5 3600 - not overclocked - Stock cooler - Wraith stealth - Crucial LPX 16 GB 3200Mhz - GTX 1080 - not overclocked - PSU: Thermaltake powerlite 550W - BX500 SSD - 256 GB - Seagate HDD 7200 rpm - 1TB - Segotep 120 mm fan - slim fan (generic) - 120 mm - came with the case - Arctic 80 mm F8 fan (non-PWM) - VR - Quest 2 through link cable. - Motherboard is Aorus pro wifi itx - PC case is sharkoon C10 (ITX) - from online calculators, the average power comes to around 340 watts I upgraded my stock cooler to the AIO arctic freezer II 120 - It has the pump, a small VRM fan and an Arctic P 12 fan and I removed the generic 120 mm fan. At times when I load shadow of the tomb raider or ms flight sim, the pc would shuts down. I checked the wiring and all seemed fine. It does not shut down during normal workloads (youtube, illustrator, etc) I have underclock the GPU to 950 mV and it seems to be stable - no more shutdowns. I have a few questions here: - The extra power loads (after the cooler change) is from the AIO - and it should be negligible. - Since the PSU is at 550W (no rating), is it not sufficient to cater for this load and occasional spikes. ? - Anyone has experience with thermaltake powerlite psu ? Am I at risk of losing my system in case the PSU blows off. Thanks

PC Shutting down randomly but only during 2 games..

CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i7-9700KF - 8-Core 3.60GHz MEMORY: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4/2400mhz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Vengeance LPX w/Heat Spreader) MOTHERBOARD: Asus Prime Z390-P: ATX w/ USB 3.1, SATA3, 2x M.2 OS: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit Edition) POWERSUPPLY: Corsair CV650 650W 80+ Bronze Gaming Power Supply VIDEO: MSI GeForce(R) RTX 2060 So, I am having a problem that is weird to the extreme and I cannot figure the thing out no matter what I try. During 2 games, "Pathfinder: Kingmaker" and "Final Fantasy 14" my PC will shut down, but not like a hard shutoff, straight to black, overheating shutoff. No, it shuts off like I selected Power>Shutdown, every program stops and it goes to the "Windows is shutting down" screen with the little balls that spin in a circle. These shutdowns don't happen to any kind of regular schedule when I am playing the games either, sometimes it can be 30 minutes, other times it can be 3-4 hours later. I first noticed this in Kingmaker (I didn't start playing FF14 again till a week or so ago, and it's shutdown during that once) and I thought it might potentially be a Unity problem because that can apparently get a bit weird during the menus with a frame rate in the thousands, but i've played other Unity games for hours on end and nothing like this has happened while I was playing the games. I am starting to lose my mind with this, I don't really know what to do and I figured this place might be one of the better places on the internet to try and help me through this. Any help would be greatly appreciated -
My brother's pc has been shutting down lately, and I think I know the reasons why it does, but I'm no expert so I wanted to come here to be sure. He's had it since 2017, and hasn't been cleaned until a week ago when I opened it up to try figure out what the issue was with it shutting down on its own. I checked the cpu and saw that the thermal paste was basically completely gone, except for a few tiny specs of it left, so I was thinking maybe the cpu was overheating, and because the aio is quite a cheap one, I wasn't expecting it to perform well with cooling the cpu, especially without some thermal paste. After I finished cleaning it I realized it could possibly the the psu being overloaded. But I'm not sure because this pc doesn't have a gpu, and I'm not sure if a 600w psu can be overloaded with just some cheap computer parts. So if anyone knows what the issue with it could be, any response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi! On Wednesday, I realized that anytime I clicked "Shut down" or clicked the power button on the actual PC, the PC would only go to sleep, so when I moved the mouse or typed the display turned back on. Then, I though that a Windows update might fix it, but when I tried to update, I got the error message "we couldn't complete the updates, undoing changes” which then puts my computer into an update loop, and it eventually boots into windows without the updates. I made sure that I have enough storage to update Windows, and I have ~60GB left on by boot drive. Does anyone know a fix for these problems, or are they even related? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I've been having this issue where my PC "crashes" and immediately restarts when playing games, causing the GPU fans to start blaring at max speed. Sometimes they'll slow down and the system will restart normally, and other times they'll just stay on and I'll have to hold the power button down to shut down and turn on my PC like normal. In all cases, it appears as if the PC loses power first, immediately tries to restart, and GPU fans blare. ADDITIONALLY, my PC periodically makes a clicking sound, the exact same sound that plays when shutting down/ losing power. I found this thread: I thought I had struck gold. While my GPU wasn't inherently overheating, many had the same issue fixed without any overheating notices. I replaced the thermal compound in my GPU, and for the rest of the day there were no crashes. Next day, lo and behold, more crashing. I believe the only commonality between crashes is that I'm playing a game which leads me to believe this is a GPU issue. While the games I play aren't the easiest to run, they are FAR from being able to overwhelm a 1050ti. However, the randomly power clicking sound leads me to believe this may be a PSU issue. I've seen others with this issue who could still hear their applications in the background, ie purely a GPU issue. Everything restarts in my case, the best I could describe it as if my PC loses all power for a split second, and then restarts with GPU fans at max speed. I have a 600W power supply so I don't think there is an inherent lack of power. Event Viewer identifies these Critical Errors as a Kernel Power Errors if that helps. I'm honestly at a loss. If it comes down to replacing a part, I might as well build a new PC, since the rest of the components aren't that great and the whole thing is a bit old. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Red lines and blue screen before installing windows 10
PaniVirusGR posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hey everyone, A friend of mine yesterday bought a prebuilt PC without windows. He used an old pc and with Windows 10 Creation tool he made a bootable USB drive (16gb) But we have been trying to figure out the issue that he has The problem is: It can boot to bios normally but when it tries to boot from the flash drive it shows some weird red and white lines like in the first picture. And then after a while it goes to a blue screen with no text on it like in the second picture. And then...it just shuts down ,no restart just closes. The system is completely new and the bootable flashdrive was completely cleaned (also creation tool formats the drive before making it bootable) We tried all usb ports , we tried with CSM disabled , we tried with CSM enable , we tried with secure boot enable , we tried both UEFI boot option and the non-UEFI boot option for the usb drive, we checked that all cables are connected correctly, we completely formatted the USB drive again and ran creation tool again on the drive On the UEFI boot option for the USB it didn't show the red lines but still did the same with the blue screen. It is running an i7 9700 with the iGPU (He is gonna use an RX 560 later on but rn he doesnt have the card yet so he wants to install windows with the iGPU) Please help, he is a good friend of mine and i wanna help him if you have any ideas tell me- 2 replies

[URGENT] [LONG READ] Hello. The past few days have been so stressful for me because of my computer problems. For starters, my computer is a 2015 HP ProDesk 400 G3 SFF. It has served me faultlessly for the past 5 years. The problem started when my computer just randomly shut down whilst I was watching a film on my computer. Of course, it automatically restarted. But just a few seconds in, there suddenly was 3 red blinks and beeps, then 2 white ones on the power button. My screen kind of froze, as well, and my keyboard and mouse suddenly stopped working. I immediately unplugged the computer, and checked the PSU and CPU heatsink. The PSU was fine, and was just in normal temp. The CPU heatsink though, was burning hot. I grabbed a screwdriver, and removed the CPU fan and heatsink to check whatever happened. I then saw that the thermal paste was chapped dry. I wasn't quite alarmed as I thought it must have been natural, as the computer is already 5 years old. I also checked on HP's official support page what the blinks and beeps meant, and found out that it was an error code meant to help warn and troubleshoot computer problems. I found out that my error code 3.2 was signalling CPU overheat. So I was like, "ah well that confirms and settles it.". I thought all I had to do is re-apply thermal paste. So I ordered thermal paste online (we're on quarantine, can't go out). Took 3 days to arrive, and when it did, I immediately went on to work and re-paste my CPU. After re-pasting I kinda let it settle in first for about 10 minutes before I decided to use the computer again. After using it, it then again overheated and the error code blinks were there again. So I was kinda taken aback and decided to check what the hell I did wrong. I figured that I might have added too much paste. So, I cleaned off the newly applied paste, and re-pasted again. Now with just a pea-sized paste on the CPU, and 3 lines on the heatsink. I then again let it settle first for a few minutes before turning the computer on. It worked fine, and there was no longer overheating issues. Within around 30 minutes of usage, it just suddenly shut down again. I was just bamboozled at that moment. Like before, it automatically restarted. And yet again, with just a few seconds in, the blinks started again. This time it was 5 red blinks, and 2 white ones. I, again, checked it in the official HP support site, and saw that it was a "system board" error, particularly "The embedded controller cannot find valid firmware.". The listed solutions are: 1. Remove any recently inserted Hardware. 2. Reset CMOS. 3. Update BIOS while removing affected components. 4. Test known good component. 5. Replace component or system board as needed. So I started doing it. I turned off the computer, and unplugged the AC adapter/wire from the PSU. I removed the CMOS battery for about 30 minutes to let it reset. Put it back, then I turned the computer on. I went to the BIOS setup and found the BIOS update part. Clicked it. Downloaded the update. And just as I was about to reboot it after the update download, my computer just suddenly shut down. I tried it again and again, and really, it just shuts down right at that moment when I'm about to click the reboot button. It's like it doesn't want me to update it. Guys, what should I do? How can I fix this? I really hope there is something I can do, and that it is nothing major as I don't exactly have the budget to make a major repair, let alone buy a new one. This is also pretty urgent as this is for my online schooling and some work. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thanks in advance if your to help me with this problem!

So when I turn on "memory integrity" and have "fast startup" enabled (yes I restarted after changing those options) my PC won't just stay off after I press "shut down". Instead it restarts / turns itself back on. Turning one of the before mentioned options off fixes the problem. But I want both on. My guess is there is some BIOS/UEFI option that causes the problem.

Hi folks, I have a MSI GF63 THIN 9SC-240IN and I guess my battery is going bad and I would like to confirm it. At the end of the day I shut down my laptop at around 40-60% juice and I make sure to unplug it before shutting it down. But next day when I power it on the POST screen comes up and the laptop immediately shutsoff/power down. I then have to plug in my charger/adapter and then turn it on. When I turn it on the battery level remains the same when I turned it off the previous night. I am guessing as the laptop is a little over 3-years old the lithium ion battery is going bad. Can anyone confirm me if this is the case?

I've had this issue since i bought this computer (brand new) around 6 months ago and never could fix it. It happens mostly in games but also outside of them (though less often) When it crashes the pc stays on and the fans keep spinning but there is no display and all the connected devices like keyboard/mouse turn off, you have to cut all the power away/turn off the psu for around 10 seconds to turn it on again. There is no blue screen. Things i've tried -all the fixes from youtube -tests like furmark/memtest -updating/deleting useless drivers -tweaking bios settings -turning off fast boot -tweaking windows power settings -numerous scans -sending back the power supply to the manufacturer just to hear "we ran a diagnosis and nothing was wrong with it" after 45 days -updating bios and downloading everything motherboard related -uninstalling all programs like nvidia experience, razer synapse itd... I've really tried everything i found and nothing fully stopped though some things made it crash slightly less often. Hi all I'm trying to fix a friends PC, he just recently built and everytime he shuts down his PC and starts it back up the fans are spinning at max. Even after the PC has been shut down, I have done some research and I think it could be a bios thing with like a wrong fan curve but I'm not 100% it is Could I have a bit of help to fix it Thanks everyone for reading this and helping His PSU is a Corsair hx1000w PSU and an Asus strix b550 gaming e motherboard (amd) Also as soon as the PSU is turned on at the on/off switch on the psu it's self the fans start spinning without me pressing the power button on the case

I really need help, I built my first ever gaming pc with the help of my friend starting a year ago and have been upgrading parts since. About three months ago the original power supply that I had in my system blew a main capacitor. Since then I’ve been using a EVGA 750 psu. Unfortunately for a decent amount of time now I’ve been playing Destiny 2 on my system and at basically completely random times my whole system will shut down and won’t come back on till I kill power to the psu. With the help of the already mentioned friend I’ve tried everything. Including: different power supply, stress tests to try and recreate, making sure everything is up to date, checking bios, making sure nothing is over heating, etc. Its come to the point where we have no clue what’s causing it and we are frustrated and at a complete loss. If anyone can help us it would mean everything. Configs: mother board: ATX X470 gigabyte ultra gaming cpu: ryzen 7 2700 ram: 16 gb gpu: 5700 xt storage: 2tb seagate barracuda + 500 gb Samsung 970 evo plus M.2 ssd I’ll be happy to fill in any blanks if it helps me get to the bottom of what’s wrong with my computer. Thank you
