I was watching the Ubiquiti ShortCircuit video and saw that its a dual socked motherboard. But it only has 1 processor in it? do you think its an early version board they have or would Ubiquiti sell a 2 processor version. I get its common in servers to have more then 1 processor but would they really need 2 16 core processors?

Why Does this exist (Peakdo mm-wave streaming handheld)
Gokul_P posted a topic in General Discussion
This is a streaming handheld that require line of sight to work at that point why cant you just look at the monitor or TV and use your normal controller or better yet if you have a Samsung Phone you can use it as a Wireless Disply (S20 Fe cost <300$ and tab s7Fe cost 400$ these days (Iam pretty sure all Samsung phones with full one ui can do this)+ a good controller like Xbox controller or gully kit controller (USB variant's) or something along those line and can do that perfectly over 5Ghz network and it can play xbox live or Geforce now or Stadia teamlink) or a steam deck base version for 399. In my mind this product has 0 reason to exist and is overpriced for what it does And if you are advertising 0 latency use a Usb controller atleast . -
SSD not detected what should be the problem I need help.
aldrin524 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I have this SSD from the brand Ramsta, specifically the model R1S800120G and it does not work. I need help how to check it and repair it. I have attempted several troubleshooting steps, such as testing it on three different computers, using alternative power connection cables and SATA cables. I tried opening it and used a thermal scanner and this is what i found. -
So I built a new pc, and found that my first motherboard(z690-f) was broken. So I returned it and bought a new one(z790-f gaming wifi), to only have the same problems. Turns out dimm A1 and A2 don't work, if I put ram into them the computer won't post. Same goes if I put my gpu into the pcie gen5 slot, the computer will post but it won't recognise the gpu(rtx 3070ti) How can I troubleshoot this problem? Should I just return the mobo again?

After watching Colton on the ShortCircuit video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgZvVLuWGxU I ended up purchasing the Mavix M9 at their website on Feb 20th. They took payment via visa card and a rep was quick to email about shipping fees outside of the US which I agreed to. Payment for shipping fees was taken. I emailed the rep back a week later and used the Contact Us webform as I noticed the order was stuck at processing, so I wanted to check if there was a delay or something. No answer. I went onto their discord in the help channel and indicated I had purchased and that the order was stuck at processing. No interaction. I also noticed other users on the same discord mention no response from emails etc. On twitter I see influencers and youtubers receiving these chairs but not ordinary customers. So I feel a number of red flags have been raised now and am beginning to worry that I was scammed.

Dear ShortCircuit, as other servers adapt and more and more star-sat or you can call them low orbit sat (los) you can expect more speed and/or less latency however as soon as they go live you can may be slowed down to may be 30-40% on a bad day ( guessing that is going to be thursday-monday) they could be ending of the destion to add another layer (mid-low orbit) for people who don't need fast speeds and would like more coverage ( a huge guess is that there will be people that will use it on their boats during trips ) in order to make the L,O,S system a bit less crowded if possible. this idea has not been fully disgusted yet if you do not know what im talking about please see here V

Yesterday I tried to change PSU to a Asus ROG strix 750w 80 gold. The PC wouldn't boot with SSD and HDD connected. HDD didn't spin when connected and ssd that had Windows installed inside wouldn't boot windows but it would show a message saying to insert bootable device. SSD containing Windows was being detected in bios but wouldn't boot even after changing priority. After some random tries i turned PSU on and my SATA cable connected to my motherboard flashed and it started melting . I removed everything and now I'm not sure if it's safe to connect anything to my motherboard without making everything alse fry. Gpu Rx 6700 XT Motherboard b450 msi gaming plusmax Ram 2 x 8 gb ballistix 3200mhz CPU R5 3600 Am I supposed to change motherboard? And what could have caused the melting? I'm not sure if I mixed the 2 PSU modular cables or not. Also when the PSU burned my SSD and SATA cable i was using my older psu not the Asus one

Has anyone else had any issued with their MSI Airboost OC 8G being really sensitive to static? My room is quite dry and I have carpet. If I were to generate (minimal) static by walking in my socks, then touching any I/O on the case (including front panel headphone jacks, and rear display ports) the GPU instantly cuts display - fans increase to max RPM and requires a reboot. Interestingly, the rest of the PC stays on, including the audio passing through my headphones. Does anyone know if there is a solution to this? I'm hoping to upgrade soon anyway, but would like to get the problem fixed before I sell this GPU! (note, this never occurred on my other GPUs in this same PC).

Roughly six months ago now, I built my very first PC. So since I'm very new to the community I thought I'd run this by the forums before I start throwing money at a computer tech. A little over a week ago I had woken up to a computer that would not start. The first indication of it not starting was that the little power button light found on the motherboard was not lit like it usually would be even if the PC was turned off. So on that, my first line of defence was to google a solution based on what symptoms I was observing (which were only what I've just stated at that time). I ended up coming across a few forums, the first stating that it could be a short circuit caused by cables not being plugged in properly. So after reading that I just about rebuilt my pc, ensuring that everything was sound even down to the CMOS battery. This resulted in my computer being able to turn on BUT my 2000+ joule surge protection power board would continuously trip every four to five minutes whilst the computer continues to run. It would function as per usual until a week later I yet again woke up to a computer that wouldn't start. So on that note, I did another quick search on google for some answers and found someone saying that it could be the CMOS battery. So I removed the GPU so I could be able to take out the battery (all with the PC switched off of course). I then left it out of the motherboard for half an hour or so, then put it (along with the GPU) back in the motherboard. It managed to boot up again but was still tripping the power board. This was done mostly in efforts of trying to pinpoint a possible problem area which I'm making not of here. So in summary, my problem is that I think my computer is tripping the power board and once a week or so my PC will refuse to turn on and I have to remove and re-insert the GPU and CMOS battery in order to get it to start again. I'll be looking forward to any answers you guys may bring my way, Thank You Another thing to note; the two images below are things that have occasionally popped up when trying to log in. My specs are as follows: Case - Corsair 750D Motherboard - X570 Aorus Master GPU - Vision RTX 3070 PSU - Corsair HX1000 CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 CPU Cooler - Nzxt Kraken Z73 RAM - 4 x 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro SSD - Samsung V-Nand SSD 860 EVO 1T Fans - Lian Li Uni Fan SL120

ShortCircuit's most recent video showcases the BOOX eInk tablet. In the description of the video are links to buy the tablet. I think viewers should be informed that BOOX actively violates Linux's GPL2 license by refusing to release their kernel source code. (sources below) They've been refusing for years. It's not only illegal but unethical. If you are unaware Linux is under the GPL2 license. To summaries one of the clauses in GPL2, if you use, distribute, or modify anything under GPL2 you must also supply the source code. These are the licenses that keep opensource software opensource. I think ShortCircuit is unaware of BOOX's violation. As a long time follower and consumer of Linus Media Groups content, I don't think they'd ever showcase a product like this without telling their audience something this important. I've tried to comment on Youtube but for some reason, the comment won't go through. I ask that people try to get this information to someone working at LinusMediaGroup so that a disclaimer can be added. I think it's unethical to showcase and help advertise a product that breaks what so many in Linus's audience believe in without adding a disclaimer, and I think Linus would agree with me. To be clear I'm not criticizing Linus, ShortCircuit, or the video about the product; only that important information the audience might want to know was missing from the video. Everyone should be given this information so that they may decide for themselves if they want to support such a company. As an alternative, ShortCircuit has done a review on a similar product here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0R0vu3Ti1w. Sources: http://bbs.onyx-international.com/t/install-linux-or-alternate-os-and-gpl2-kernel-source/698 https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/hl09g7/onyx_boox_chinese_company_will_not_share_their/ Edit: To clarify. Them not opening their distribution or custom software solutions isn't a GPL2 violation; but them not opening their modified Linux kernel is. A quote form a representative `However, kernel source code of Android could not be open for now. Welcome to develop apps by our SDK.`. This quote can be found in the first listed source.

Is Linus ever going to review the new tablets from Samsung? I know there is thousands of reviews already on youtube about it but I would genuinely like to hear his or the team's opinion on the device. I think Samsung finally made something really cool and very appealing with android tablets wich doesn't happen everyday Just wondering tho

I don’t know if troubleshooting is the right section for this post, as the PC is now working properly. But I would like to understand what happened to know if I need to take further action to make sure that the problem is solved. So.. this is the story: The PC was working, but one day as I was replacing a panel of the case I heard a suspicious noise. I then immediately began to move the PC in every possible direction in an attempt to drop what seemed, from the noise, to be a screw. The problem is that even though I tried everything, I couldn’t hear any sound and after a while I started to believe that the noise wasn’t a screw (don't make my same mistake). When I finished what I was doing and I closed the case, attached the cables and turned on the PC, the motherboard started to fail the POST phase while remaining powered on, but the CPU debug led was also on (CPU not detected or faulty). I tried to reboot the PC several times, remove the graphics card and even reset the BIOS, but nothing, it didn’t want to have a successful POST. I then decided to remove the heatsink and reseat the CPU, and it is at that moment that I noticed the screw (photo attached), perfectly stuck between an IC and the heatsink of the m2 slots. I removed the screw (checking that there was no sign of physical damage to the motherboard, both front and back, and there wasn't.), reseated the CPU, reassembled everything and then... the PC was perfectly working again. After that, I started to check that everything was working, I tried all the USB ports, audio jacks, wi-fi antenna.. I ran stress tests with OCCT of CPU, RAM, GPU, VRAM, PSU and checked the functionality of the SSD in the bios (nvme device self test). Everything is perfect, no errors are detected in any of the components, watts, volts, everything looks perfectly normal; as if nothing had happened. You can see from the pictures the position of the screw, and then how it was after I removed it (also the back side). The darker stains on the motherboard were already there before and are present everywhere, I think it’s part of the painting. Any chance this wasn’t even a short circuit? Could it be that moving the PC a lot and beating it (to try to bring out the "hypothetical" screw) has moved the CPU in the socket causing the problem? (I reseated the CPU and removed the screw at the same time, so I can’t know directly what solved the problem) The PC stayed on until I shut it down, it stayed on even for minutes. As far as I know if there is a short circuit the PC tends to turn off almost immediately, right? What do you think? Maybe some of you can deduce from the photos why nothing was fried . I’d like to have your opinion on this, and I’d like to know if there’s anything else I should do. Thanks for your attention to this post

Hello! I was wondering if anyone has seen Riley's QR code generator sponsor segment? I don't remember if it was on LTT or on ShortCircuit but I remember seeing it but I genuinely cannot find it no matter how hard I look. Does anyone know what video it's on or the link they specified in the video? Any help is appreciated!!!

Hey guys. Recently I've had a long Skype conversation... about 45 min. And after these 45min PC restarted. And then after 3 sec again... I waited 10 mins and ran my PC. It worked 5min and again, the restart. After long troubleshooting I found out that everything's fine when PSU is OUTSIDE the case (now using it this way). Is my PSU (Fortron FSP350 60GLN) faulty? I suspect shortcircuit inside, but how come that it happened so spontaneously? I put HD7770 about month ago, everything was stable until this Skype talk. I used it with G3258 MSI 81M and HD7770. Thanks for reading.

Im currently following the manual of a Raspberry PI starter kit and lerning how to controll a DC motor but while building it I noticed something odd, on the datasheet of the L9110 it says VCC has to be connected to 5V but on the schcematic it is connected to ground, will this fry my Pi if I plug it in?

Just seen the new Renoir Variants of the Huawei Matebook D14 launch in china. Dodged a bullet there as i was just about to buy the Picasso variant as there is little to no marketing for it here in the west. Maybe LMG could do a review of "Mid range/high-end" Chinese laptops as they seem to be catching up the likes of dell xps / envy lineups and are relatively affordable. Maybe even a video on ShortCircuit ? Could also include other brands such as the redmibook? https://www.notebookcheck.net/Xiaomi-RedmiBook-13-RedmiBook-14-and-RedmiBook-16-launched-6-to-8-core-AMD-Ryzen-4000-Renoir-processors-for-as-little-as-US-490.466819.0.html https://www.huaweicentral.com/huawei-matebook-d-14-and-d-15-2020-launched-with-amd-ryzen-4000-series-processors/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=burNkdZG0Bs There's a disappointing amount of misinformation (and some potential misinformation in the form of claims I have yet to see verified anywhere else) regarding this display that was unfortunately stated as facts in this video. I have not seen a single piece of documentation from Samsung (or any other reputable source) actually indicating that this display has DisplayHDR 1000 certification, nor Full Array Local Dimming. The only source of this "DisplayHDR 1000" claim, to date, is from secondhand sources assuming that Samsung's own "HDR1000" spec carries any weight and deciding for themselves that it must mean the same thing as DisplayHDR 1000 (it doesn't). Furthermore, the only references to local dimming I could find on this display are reports that it has the same local dimming zones as Samsung's previous 49" display, the CRG90, which only had 8 or so zones around the edges, nowhere near the amount you'd need for FALD. I'm especially disappointed that the video even goes as far to mention that the proper way to test local dimming is to do so with a cursor on a black background, but then completely fails to actually do so in the video to prove that it actually does have FALD. There's some information about this on this article (https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1578550696) as well as this comment on that article (http://disq.us/p/26l364j) Overall just feels like you jumped the gun on this one without doing much research to actually verify the wild claims that everyone else has been echoing with next to no citations from a reputable source. TL;DR As far as I'm aware, Samsung has never once claimed this display is DisplayHDR 1000 certified, nor have they ever claimed that it has FALD, I have seen no reputable verification of either being true, and if anyone knows otherwise, please provide a source.

So, I had my USB headset plugged in, and I got up and accidently stepped on the cord, and it ripped out of the USB port, which tore out the protective plastic that prevents short circuiting. I was not aware of this at the time, so I put a screwdriver into the usb port to fix one of the prongs, and the computer shut off and wont turn back on. I think it may have short circuited, the charging light still comes on, I just cant turn on the computer.

Hey guys i was looking at a bunch of reviews regarding the topic and every one is running the 2600k at stock speeds and isn't overclocking it. I was wondering what do you all think about it.
