Hello, i have weird problem and i no idea what doesn't work. Firstly my specs: Gigabite 1660 6GB (rip) Aorus Z490 ELITE AC I7-10700K 2x DDR4 16Gb 3200MHz Silentumpc 750W Windows 11 So my cat spilled water yesterday on my pc (don't judge me, it was pretty far from it), i turn it off instantly and left it near heater over night. Water was only in upper radiator and on gpu backplate. Today i turn it on and gpu just killed itself, smoke from display port. After that i wanted to check what works. Pc and bios turning on without problems, cpu, ram and ssds are listed in bios and looking fine, all lights, pump and fans are on, but system doesn't want to boot. While booting from ssd with OS it's in "preparing automatic repair" loop, booting USB with installation media is just loading and loading without progress I tried: CMOS Cycling ram Gpu is unpluged Different ports Without ssds and hdds Disabling Secure boot/CMS Unplugging, plugging cables Booting linux on usb Reseting BIOS Any ideas what can be potentially broken? I don't have second pc to individually diagnose my parts. Sorry about late responses but i'm tired, mad and I will be tomorrow, Thanks

https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/accessories-and-monitors/graphic-cards/graphic-cards/GRAPHIC-BO-TS-NV-RTX2070-Super-Graphics/p/4X61A22495 this card here has confused me, I just want to know if anyone has one of these or if anyone knows anything about them. Also considering the current gpu market situatuon, is this card worth the current asking price of £583.80 So far what I have read is that the card is baised on an msi design and is a fe board but I could be wrong, anyways I just found it interesting

Looking for a new GPU? Can't find a 5000 series Ryzen? Maybe you're in need of a new console? We want to help you know as soon as they come in stock. I posted about this a couple months ago, but we've made so much progress it doesn't even feel like the same project any more. First off, I brought a friend in to help with some of the development, so that's awesome. Second, we got a domain name, a website, and over 4000 members on our discord channel. (just crossed the 4k mark this morning!) We even have an android app and a web app, for if you can't have discord open, like at work--or if you just don't like discord. If you're interested just head over to https://unobtainium.app. Links to the discord and the android app are right on the homepage. The discord server has a few discussion channels on it, but the app actually gets faster notifications than discord! (We don't slow them or anything, discord just isn't built for speed-sensitive stuff like this, I guess.) We also have a channel for approved posters to post any stock they find, especially on sites we don't track yet or even stock at their local brick & mortar stores. Still not convinced? How about some numbers? We run multiple Amazon EC2 instances and have 43 volunteers running 60-80 instances of our distributed scraper bot at any given time, keeping the 379 product pages we track updated at an average of under 10 seconds! As I type this we are refreshing 6.3 pages, every. single. second. So you don't have to. I bought an XFX Merc 319 RX6800XT off of an alert while I was testing the proof-of-concept script that eventually became this bot. We've got an entire channel full of success stories from people who got the card they were looking for. So come check us out!

Currently: - NVidia's 30-series launch (3080, 3090 and others) was bad, AMD, Xbox and PS5 also had shortages - Scalpers are bad - The difference between MSRP and auction price on eBay now goes to scalpers I haven't seen this as a solution: - Make 1st batch of products available for sale - Make it an auction with MSRP as base price. Auction lasts for at least 24h - The difference between MSRP and sale price goes to either: - You - Split between you and a charity - All to a charity Next batch of products will have a lower average sale price Repeat until it's expected retail price, and you can meet what seems to be the remaining, steady demand Thoughts?

In an interview for Time, TSMC Chairman Mark Liu, suggested that the global chip shortage is now being exacerbated by dealers stockpiling chips “who-knows-where in the supply chain”. Quotes My thoughts This again is bad news for anyone who wants or needs to get their hands on any new (or by trickle down, used) piece of technology, name it video card, car or any in between. And this extra variable of why the shortage exists is even harder to solve because it deepens speculative behavior. In other markets commodities have laws intended to stop speculative hoarding and other similar behavior. Lets see if regulations need to be taken to try to stop or disincentivize this practice. Sources Global chip shortage: Supply chain hoarding now a factor, says TSMC chief Inside the Taiwan Firm That Makes the World’s Tech Run

I had this idea and i don't know why no one approaching it so far, to fight the miners. Why don't the big companies force the vendors to do the following? 1- Vendors are not allowed to sell more than 1 GPU per person, for the same GPU series. 2- Vendors check the national ID of the buyer on the official website of Nvidia/ AMD. 3- it shows that you are not eligible to buy an RTX 3080 because your already bought one from another vendor, but you can have one from each other series. 4- Buyer agrees to buy an RTX 2070, Vendor insert it's serial number and the buyer's ID to the official website. 5- Buyer is no longer eligible to buy an RTX 3080 or RTX 2070 anymore from anywhere of the world. 6- Miners are in crises, they can't buy GPUs in bulks anymore. 7- Stocks are full again, shelves are filled, prices go back to it's normal state. 8- Gamers win, miners lose. so these idea i had for awhile, i want to know what's wrong with it, why is it not applicable or on the table?

What do you think? I just cancelled my rtx 3080 order which had been standing from the 16th of December. Now I also sold my 1080ti for 700 euros (lol) and i'm running an old hd 7970 in the meantime. Im sitting this one out, but will there be fresh cards at the end of this year? I put the money aside so it will feel like a 'free' upgrade from my old 1080ti which I bought used for like 450 euros a long time ago. There is a big supply shortage yes, but nvidia also delivered more cards than in any previous year. There is just too much demand combined with the whole ddr6 disaster. But will I see a 4000 lineup? since the ti version was already sort of leaking/ announced. Or will they just sit for two years again on the 3000 lineup? What's your thoughts? Am I missing some leaks or info?

I fail to see why not? They could ask Intel for CPU & graphics, that may require a bigger PS5 model to deal with the heat? Or they can go to Nvidia and make a ARM 8-core with Nvidia chip? Which may require some software work but either way why not at this point when AMD & TSMC is failing to fullfill the orders? They could also go to both? One for CPU and one for GPU...

Here in lithuania, and like rest of the world demant of the new pc parts is high. The problem i am facing right now is that even older gen parts went up in price, a few months ago r5 3600 was about 180-190eur, now its 247eur. Event more high-end GPU's are just out of stock, not event talking about latest gen products. So buying a pre-built migh be a good option, i wanted to hear some opinios on what everyone thinks. Here is the pre-build 950eur : Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600 (3.6-4.2GHz) 6-Cores/ 12-Threads Motherboard: ASROCK B450M STEEL LEGEND, Extra large aluminum alloy heat sinks, Supreme 12K black capacitors with lifespans of at least 12,000 hours, RAM : G.Skill Aegis 16 GB DDR4 DDR4-3200MHz CL16-18-18-38 1.35V (2x8GB) SSD: Kingston 500GB SSD A2000 M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe Gen 3.0x4, R/W 2200/1500 MB/s GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER™ VENTUS GP OC 8GB GDDR6, DisplayPort, HDMI Case: FSP CST311 Micro ATX Case, PSU Deepcool DA series 80 PLUS BRONZE Efficiency up to 87% PSU, Black, 120mm, 600 W Budget (including currency): around 1000eur or below if possible Country: Lithuania Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming and some light work. Gaming CS:GO, popular esports games, i dont want to worry about throwing to it any game and run at least 1080p 60fps Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am using 2 monitors at the moment (1050p 60hz, 1080p 144hz), also i already have 1TB HDD it would be added to the build. Interested to hear peoples thoughts, cheers!

Hi, do you think it's possible that there will be a shortage of S21s at launch? I heard the phone would use a 5nm process, so in theory it shouln't be affected by the 8nm shortage that Samsung experiences while producing the RTX-3xxx series, right?

Hi guys, I'm in a very big dilemma idk if i should buy a gpu now or wait for prices to drop even more(will they drop tho? ). I'd like ur advice i already sold my 1080 for like 340 euros and i have a spare card(280x)to use until a buy a gpu. Thank you in advance. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/chinese-company-moore-threads-announces-full-gpu-development-capabilities So this GPU is almost 15 TF using GDDR6 and this means that its a low nm design (e.g a RTX 3060 ti is about as fast)

Was wondering if hyperx fury 3200 would be compatible with my mobo? Got a gigabyte b450m ds3h and wasn't sure if it would run fine? Due to recent shortages on ram, psus and cpus for me I have had to make changes to my parts and wanted to check if i can get this to work or nor?

Hey everyone! So what happened to me yesterday is that my USB stick with all my work stuff on it was inside my PC while there was an electricity shutdown. Now it recognizes it as follows: I tried quite a few things, looked up in forums etc. Things I tried: Reinstalling drivers, unplugging everything, tried on another PC without success, doublechecked if the usbstor.inf was on my PC It seems to always usse usb.inf instead of usbstor.inf everytime I let it update drivers manually. Doess anybody know any other solution? I havve some stuff on there that I need and I didnt upload anything to my Onedrive for a bit of time sadly....

Today, I went to Best Buy to buy a Founders Edition 1080 that I will be water cooling. I knew that there was a GPU shortage due to cryptocurrency mining but I thought stock in stores was rising. I walked to the GPU aisle and was greeted by bare shelves. The boxes to the bottom right were PSUs and a RX 580. The box to the left was a 1080 box used as a placeholder. I asked a person who worked there if there was any stock in the back. He went off to check. He came back and informed me that there was nothing. According to him, there hasn't been a shipment for a month or two. However, today wasn't that bad as I was able to order one online and have it delivered to my house. So, I guess, today was just a real eye opener.

Looking to upgrade that rig of yours to the newest generation of Intel cpus? Well, you may be to wait a bit. Due to the high demand (specifically for the "K" series chips) of the processors, e-retailers and brick and mortar stores have found there shelves "decaffed" of Intel's newest flagship. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-coffee-lake-shortage-cpu,35632.html When reached out to for comment on the shortages, Intel responded: "The 8th Gen Intel Core desktop processors and systems are on sale globally. We’re actively working with our retailers to fulfill strong interest from customers on the i7-8700k SKU." As for the shortage of non-K SKUs, Intel is looking into the matter and should have a response soon, according to the above article from "Tom's Hardware". Enjoy the read!

I am currently running a EVGA GTX 1060 FTW+ DT, and I got it for $269.99 ($239.99 after rebates). I have been running it for about 2 weeks, and I was looking around ebay when I found out that they are selling for around 400 dollars. Question is: should I sell mine? I have all of the original packaging, accessories and stuff, and I am planning to get a used GT210 to keep my pc running until the entire grahpics card shortage thing is over, then spend it on a RX 580 or maybe even a Vega. Should I do it? Thanks.

Title. I've been saving up for and planning a top-end PC build for well over a year now, and obviously with the timely launch of Ryzen, I immediately thought I would go for their 12 core offering, the 3900x. (I game a lot, edit video, produce music, and am planning to maybe livestream in the future) However there is an abject shortage of 3900x CPUs right now. Reports suggest that Apple is hogging the vast majority of TSMC's manufacturing arsenal, (thanks a lot, Tim), meaning that the upcoming batch of 3900x CPUs is going to be delayed, and is therefore likely to disappear the instant retailers restock due to backorders. The next batch could take until early 2020 to arrive. On ebay.co.uk, the buy it now prices for the 3900x are exceeding £600, like the one in the link below (the normal buying price is supposed to be £479.99). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AM4-AMD-Ryzen-9-3900X-12C24T-Boxed/223658034892?hash=item34130ec6cc:g:fXgAAOSwAVRdgVxN AMD's 16 core 3950x is due to launch around the end of this September, which is going to cost around $750 US, and a quick google search tells me that this is almost exactly £600, roughly the same as the inflated 3900x prices. Assuming that I'll probably have to wait another 6 months to be able to buy the 3900x at normal price, is it worth me just snagging a 3950x when it releases?

I’ve known about the shortages since it’s started, and with the recent news I’m am getting more interested in it again. But none of the websites really explain in-depth of why there are shortages, so if you guys could explain it or give me some links (articles), that would be great! Thanks

Hey there! I got carried away this Christmas and built a new pc, the only things I kept from the previous rig are PSU and GPU. Now I'm wondering if my psu is powerful enough. First let me go through my specs so you know what I'm dealing with. I'm running a i9 9900k (no overclocking yet), 64gb of ddr4 ram (4x16), a 1080ti, AIO cooling (kraken x72), 3HDDs, 2SSDS, and 2 m2 SSDs. With that, a whole bunch of rgb everywhere (don't know how drastic that can be on power draw) and 6 fans. All that, on an old Corsair Cs750 gold. Knowing that I'm about to swap the 1080ti for a 2080ti, is my old 750w psu enough, or should I go for a brand new 1000W to avoid any shortage. Thanks in advance, sorry for the long read.

So I'm putting in a preorder for a corsair hx1200i at the end of the month and I'm wondering when will psu be back in stock like normal. A bunch went on the market then dissapeared so are they just being thrown up in batches at an attempt to help the shortage or what? Is there any news when the market might relax a little? I personally feel that with the rtx3000 cards coming shortly it's just going to make things worse.

Hello everyone, late last night I went to start up my trusty gaming computer and a spark and then a flame shot out of my computer! I quickly open up my case to find out what was going on and by the looks of it my system fan cable was severed by my GPU lock/safety tab, therefore what I'm assuming caused the spark. I removed my GPU from my computer and unplugged the fan cable from the motherboard and the computer booted up fine (I was using another 1gb GPU I had in my closest for the longest time). I put my GPU back into my computer and tried turning it on to figure out if it was the fan causing the problem or the GPU, and well, the computer turned on and shut off immediately, so I'm assuming my GPU is damaged but I'm not exactly sure how. The GPU is NVIDIA Gigabyte 1060 6gb Windforce OC 1.0 rev. I've already tried contacting Gigabyte for my warranty (I opted out for warranty but hopefully they'll send me a new one) and I've already contacted NVIDIA, but they only make the chipset so they referenced me. So far I have gotten no reply from Gigabytes ticket system, as it's very outdated, I'm not sure they'll ever reply. Is there anything I could do to repair the card myself? Or is it possible to get a warranty fast, gaming is my only passion I really have, this especially sucks because this is my week off from work.

We all know about the shortage of Random Access Memory and the massive price inflation that has taken place as a result, but I have a question about one of the most commonly cited reasons for said shortage, that flagship phones are using more and more memory. Do phones even need that much memory? I'm not excessively familiar with phone specs and capabilities, but gauging by a few benchmarks I've seen of the latest snapdragon processors and apple chips, not to mention battery life, phones would be bottlenecked long before they could ever efficiently make use of upwards of 8 GB of memory on some higher end models. It further confuses me that this is occurring while mobile operating systems are becoming better optimized to limit background activity which would only serve to limit memory usage. More realistically, this is just another marketing ploy to throw bigger numbers in people's faces to make up for the fact that there are minimal changes from year to year aside from exclusive software (looking at you Apple). Again, I'm not the most knowledgeable person on the situation, and these are just my speculations, so let me know what you all think.
