  1. Hi, I have a Silverstone SG13 and was hoping to put the RTX 3070 in there. Unfortunately the founders edition is out of the question for me because of where I live. I have seen the MSI Ventus 2x and the Asus Dual cards, and while both are 52mm thick, the Asus card is 132mm tall (Ventus is 123mm so it's safe). Can anyone give me an idea of whether both of these cards will fit in my case? Going by pure numbers I know that the height limit in the SG13 is 129mm and the max thickness is somewhere around 50-56mm (from what I've seen on reddit and overclock.net). Both cards' lengths are within the limits of the case, so it's just the height and thickness I'm worried about. Has anyone put these cards in their SG13? Thanks for your help.
  2. Hello all. After much conversing and intelligence gathering, I have finally built my first every PC - my ticket to the master race. I went an ITX build because I want to take it to LAN parties, even though many people have voiced their opinion that master race newborns should not dabble with ITXs. Anyhow, here are the parts: CPU: Ryzen R5 1600 Graphics card: ASUS DUAL GTX 1070 O8G RAM: 2x8GB Corsiar Vengeance 3200MHz Storage: 250GB SanDisk Ultra II SSD Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM HDD MOBO: Asrock Fata1ity Gaming/ITX AB350 PSU: Corsair SF450 Case: Silverstone SG13 CPU cooler: Noctua - NH-L9x65 Front intake fan: Noctua NF-F12 PWM Exhaust fan: Fractal design R3 50mm Monitor: LG23MP68VQ Keyboard: TurtleBeach Impact 600 Misc: SFX to ATX power supply adaptor bracket PP08 ASUS SDRW 08D2S-U LITE Tights, 20 Denier Corsair CP-8920190 Sleeved SATA Cable, Red/Black TAAADDAAA~~~ You have no idea how excited and happy I was Of note: Asrock have 'fixed' their VRM heatsink-thermal pad issue: White GPU, Red/Black mobo, Poo-y CPU cooler... Yea, the colour scheme is all wrong and miss matched. But who cares as long as I like it! It's alive!!! Now time to prep the case: I do like Asrock's IO shield: At this point, I thought cable management will be easy. I mean, there is so much room. What's all the fuss about? Errr getting a bit cosy now... Note: I had to get a different Corsair's SATA power cable as the one that came with the PSU aren't flat enough. I do like the red and black, and also the fact that its individually sleeved though. ARGHHH cables everywhere! And why do they have to be so stiff?? This is the best I can manage. Not bad for a first time builder...? And here is the finished product! What's the abomination I hear you ask? Well. . . . . . . . . . I used lady's tights as dust filter, and it is SO hard to get right. It ended up looking like this form the inside: Yea... Next up will be benchmarks and my attempts at OC! Thanks for reading!
  3. I've been wanting to build an ITX machine for gaming and photo editing. I won't be buying anything until the mining craze is gone, video cards are back in stock, and prices are reasonable. Budget is around 1,200 GBP. The part list below is over budget because I am a greedy bastard. I can't make my mind up on what to compromise on. And contrary to my previous opinions to others - No I will not skip meals, etc. I am a greedy hypocritical bastard. Lets see if you could do better Motherboard: Asrock AM4 ITX AB350 £113.62 CPU: AMD Ryzen 1600 £193.80 CPU Cooler: Noctua - NH-L9x65 33.8 CFM £42.21 Fan: Noctua NF-F12 PWM £21.39 Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3000MHz CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 £131.00 Storage: Seagate Firecuda 2TB 7200 £86.02 Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB £83.88 Video Card: RX580 gigabyte aorus 8gb £244.96 <- pre-mining craze price, me thinks. Case: Silverstone SUGO SG13B £40.80 PSU: Corsair SF450 SFF 450W £77.99 PSU Converter: SilverStone SST-PP08 SFX to ATX PSU Converter £7.64 OS: Windows 10 Home 32 bit/64 bit £75.00 Monitor: LG 23MP68VQ 23-Inch IPS 1080 £134.99 Total: £1,253.30
  4. Backstory: Upgrading + downsizing my rig So currently my best option for a case would be the SG13 as it is the smallest, decently-priced mITX case available here. However, my currrent PSU is a full 160mm fully-modular SeaSonic M12II. Do you think it'd fit? I noticed from this build they used an AX760i which is (AFAIK) also a full 160mm and fully-modular. For my CPU cooler, I'd be using the stock Intel HSF as I won't be OCing, Might upgrade into something better but this is not my priority atm.
  5. Hey guys so id really like to grab one of the pink SG13's to put some of my spare gear in for Lan n stuff but the problem is my only spare boards are DTX. Now yes i KNOW the SG13 technically only supports Mini ITX and Mini DTX but after taking some measurements and looking at photo's of the SG13 with an itx/dtx mobo fitted (only difference is length) i can see that the, i suppose in case terms, depth of the case is alot bigger than the Mini DTX boards with the only difference between Mini DTX and DTX being width or i suppose depth (this is getting confusing xD) so what im asking is if anyone has an sg13 and is feeling really helpful, could you measure the depth/width whatever of where a mobo would fit, all im looking for is to fit an extra 4cm so if you have an itx or m-dtx board in your system could you measure the board from the back of the case to the front side of the case and add for 4cm and see if there's any reason why that wouldn't fit. id really really appreciate it. Now before anyone points it out, yes i know there wont be standoffs for the extra 4cm just shh modding is a thing if necessary, yes i know i could buy an itx board but rn i dont wanna spend more than i have to on a spare parts machine and yes i know if it will fit its gonna be bloody close. Cheers guys
  6. Hello! I'm building a 900USD ITX silent PC, and I want your suggestions on how I can improve it! Budget (including currency): around 900USD Country: Czech Republic Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, Coding, 1080p Video editing, Content consumption Other details: I currently have a i3 8100 with 12GBs(4+8) of 2400mhz ram and a 1050ti, which are starting to not be enough for what i do, and the PC is very loud for the components in it, and I also want the satisfaction of building a PC for the first time. I'm trying to build a quiet itx PC (yes itx isn't great for a first build but shh we dont talk about that ;D), that can sacrifice some performance for form factor and quiet operation. I will be using a 1080p 75hz IPS panel, as monitors are expensive in my region and I dont want to spend a fortune on it. I went with noctua fans, as from what I've heard, even at low RPM they can still deliver a solid amount of air. I also chose a msi GPU, as it has afterburner, so I can underclock it a bit if it's too loud. It was also one of the cheapest options. I also went for an overkill PSU, as it should remain quiet even under load and it also futureproofs me for more demanding hardware. I know itx isn't the best for silence, but the small size fits my smaller and minimalist desk very well. PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/MichalTheMichal/saved/YzqQ6h - prices are very similar to my country Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.
  7. I've been living overseas for a year now, only have an Asus ultrabook and Nintendo Switch here with me, so I've pulled l the trigger on a mini ITX build. Realistically, I still won't be gaming too much, and I only have a 60Hz 1080p TV as a display, so I don't want or need to go all out. Honestly a second hand Xbox One would do me fine, but I love the process of building too much. And I got an unexpectedly fat tax refund. I ordered everything except the GPU less than two weeks ago, and it's all arrived. I think I managed to get some of the last of the local Amazon stock before most things went on back order. Unfortunately the part number on the PSU comes under the recall, but due to current stock problems I've decided to hold onto it until it either fails or the shipping problems have eased up a bit. The GPU is coming out of my old i5 4690k rig at home. My parents were sending me a parcel anyway, so it's on its way and will hopefully be here soon. My budget doesn't yet have any room for a new GPU, but my little 1060 will do perfectly for now. Same idea for the CPU, I would have liked a 3600 but current price and stock levels made it unrealistic. I know if I had built earlier or waited I could have had better deals or different parts, but I've also been feeling a bit down lately so I think this will be a nice little pick me up. But having seen the RAM and the case fan in the flesh, I think it'll look sharp. My first PC build had gold mobo accents and blue ram so I'm at least trying to coordinate this one. Will update as I start building soon.
  8. Been eying up aio coolers for this case, right now I'm down to either the h55, h60 or h80i... In the uk at the moment the h55 is around £50, h60 is £75 and h80i is £100. Im really not sure which of these to go for, the h80i seems expensive for what it is. I would have liked to use the Arctic liquid freezer II but it doesn't fit in the sg13. Basically... Any good 120mm aio suggestions besides Corsair in the UK?
  9. First off: my build (PCPP) I just finished installing my brand new Gigabyte RX580 Gaming 8GB (huhu tears of joy). So I was testing performance playing Overwatch on EPIC and so far so good. The FPS is maintained well above the 75Hz of the monitor. I capped the FPS on 80 but the average is usually below that (76-78). Enhanced Sync and FreeSync both enabled. MOVING ON, so I played for a few games while checking temps. To my surprise the GPU is running very hot at around 75degC and the CPU is running very hot as well reaching a max of 78degC (through HWMonitor). I know that these are still considered safe in terms of GPU and CPU reliability. But, the case itself is also way too uncomfortably hot. I'm afraid it might burn out my other components (e.g. my 6y/o 2.5" HDD and maybe motherboard parts?) Sooo I've read that some installed their PSU to intake air from the case and exhaust it at the back. Considering that the case air itself is already very hot, isn't this a bit risky for the PSU? Another possible issue I've found is that the PSU will sit atop the CPU. And with Intel's stock CPU, air is blowed towards the motherboard. So basically opposite the supposed airflow of the PSU. Anyways I'm more concerned with the PSU burning out.
  10. I am creating a build log for my "mobile" work PC. This is actually a rebuild, the system is currently built but I have been using an R3 2200G. Now that I upgraded my main system 'Blueberry Pi' (build link here) from the R7 1700 to the R7 3800x, my intended plan, the R7 1700 is going into this build. If any of you are familiar with the Silverstone SG13 you know this case is about as compact as it gets for full size hardware. And this system fully built offers no extra room for additional parts. 11. Hello, I have a new build that arrived last week, http://pcpartpicker.com/list/QLLskT and I have run into heating issues. Mainly near the graphics card area because I am using a GTX 670 from a friend until the new http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5923#kf ITX card is released. I am thinking about using the Corsair H60i to help with cooling on the processor (currently using stock cpu fan) and hope the GTX 1070 ITX will run much cooler. Do you all think the H60i is adequate for cooling in this case? I plan to use it with only one noctua 120mm fan as an intake. Thank you for any help. -M.Kehres
  12. Hello there! Recently I've been bitten by the upgrade bug and am now set on changing my modest system. Currently I have an i5 4690k at stock, stock cooler, a gtx 960 ftw 4gb, 4x4GB kingston hyper x fury ram, a msi z97 sli krait edition board, a 240gb ssd, a 250gb hdd and a 600gb 2.5inch hdd. The idea is that I'm making a mini itx build move. I have chosen the SilverStone SG13 because it can fit my atx semi modular power supply and because of it's price, I need to change my mobo. I am planning on getting a AsRock h97m-itx/ac because it has the ability to support a wifi card with antennas. It supports PCIe 3.0, 16gb RAM with two dimms and has the exact same I/O as my old one. I can live with 2x4GB of RAM as I only really play games and redner 1080p videos which are fine to work with. Here is my dilema: I am very unsure about my combination and would like advice, tips and support if you would be so kind. I have only ever built 1 PC and it went okay (it even posted first time!). The form factor kinda scares me but I think I can pull it off with paticence. Are all my parts okay? I will be ditching the 3.5 HDD and the case supports 1 ssd mount on the bottom where my SSD will go. Can anyone tell me if I need to change anything or if my parts wont work, many thanks.
  13. 120mm inside a small form factor case and only enough room for something like a kraken x31 and 2 fans or a single fan h80i. Leaning towards h80i.
  14. Hi all, During my study I use a lot of Linux and I decided to buy a linux computer only for the study, this also means I don't need a GPU. Since I like to build pc's I also decided to do some minor custom sleeving. The parts: SilverStone SUGO SG13 ASUS B150I PRO GAMING/AURA Corsair Dominator Platinum 2x8GB Corsair SF Series Modular SF450 Intel Core i5-6400 Noctua NH-L9i + Be quiet Pure Wings 2 (92mm fan) Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition http://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/J3rt8K Components already taken out. I love this case! I've always used ATX MB, but mini-itx MB are cool too. So here is my ever first custom sleeved cable =D I'm still working on the 24pin and a sata cable, but I don't have enough sleeving anymore I'll have to wait a couple of days. I'll make some more pictures once it is completed. Cheers
  15. $1,500 USD Budget I plan on building a portable gaming PC that should fit into my cycle panniers while riding. I plan on gaming at 1080p at high FPS, preferably on a 144hz monitor. The build references a GTX 1070, it is not necessary explaining how 1440p would suite that card instead. I would like max settings (AA, Hairworks, etc) at high FPS. 1080p, based on benchmarks, matches that. I only plan on powering one display, preferably at 144hz. I also, eventually, plan on running an HTC Vive. I bought peripherals already since this build replaces my previous and allows my mom and siblings the ability inheriting a superior desktop for their daily tasks. I plan on purchasing a Windows 10 license, though I would like hearing about people's recommendation about Pro vs Basic. This build only exists for entertainment and the challenge. I would like placing the best price-performance stuff into this system. I would like a complete gaming experience, including overclocking, crammed into the smallest available case that supports a full-sized GPU. 16. I am having lots of issues with my first mini-ITX build, but this takes the cake! The cpu cooler, argon ar06 is recommended by the manufacturer, so I Do not see why it is causing this issue, but I cannot close the usb 3.0 header plug in. I bent a small pin trying slightly, but that did not appear to be an issue. I asked my girlfriend if she thought it could fit and she slid it in fairly easily, but it can't close completely. I am concerned about this causing some damage if it is not 100% plugged in correctly; if it just disable the usb ports that would be possibly something that could be fixed, but I do not want to burn my motherboard or other parts. If I turn the CPU cooler one turn, it looks like the same issue would cause problems for the memory, which is very low clearance! What is going on here? What should I do? It took me several hours to clean, apply thermal paste, and assemble the build as it is now, it would likely need to be fully removed to do so again and I would rather avoid that if possible. Here are some photos of the questionable connections, and I would greatly appreciate some help. Ram is another issue, if I turned the cooler it looks like either the plug would be pushed outwards, or the ram would not be able to seat two sticks. http://imgur.com/a/w28hz I am considering going ahead as normal and hoping for that best, the plug is mostly in. If it is not safe however, I will likely take it to a shop rather than dealing with the disassembly/reassembly. 17. Greetings, im looking for an alternative cooler to my Intel i5-4690@3.5Ghz (84W TDP) stock cooler which is screwed up at the mounting pins and it does not cool optimally. The case is SG13 (inspired by Linus). Mainboard H97M-ITX/ac. Psu Corsair SF600. 16gb 1600 ram. One smaller SSD and one larger HDD. MSI GTX 970. The case allows up to 61mm in height for the CPU cooler. It has a standard.. (120mm?) chass fan mounted on the front panel. Wanted to buy Cryorig C7, but it is nowhere to be ordered in Europe/Germany (needs a couple of weeks or months to restock). 1.) Regarding Noctua L9i, i think it could be too weak for my rig. Dunno? 2.) Reeven Steropes? 3) Cooltek LP53 (Thermolab LP53)? 4) <Insert here>
  18. Hey guys, I'm planing on custom watercooling my 2nd baby; Toothless (Radeon R9 Nano, i5 4790k, Silverstone SG-13) My quandry is simple, is a single 120mm rad is enough to cool the both of them? Of course I already have an NF-F12 already in there, and airflow will be negative pressure and the psu will be pulling from inside the case and is semi-modular. I have no experience and little knowledge in custom water cooling loops and thought I would ask you guys for the first time, so, whats your opinion? (Apart from the fact that I'm crazy to watercool in an sg13) Photos attached
  19. I love how small it is and how dense you can pack it, but I don't like the cheap build quality or the temperatures.. Are there any higher end SG13 cases out there?
  20. Making a portable desktop, I was inspired by Linus' SG13 titan video. I don't have such dramatic needs, but packing a powerful system into a small case is appealing to me. I will be travelling internationally and it seems this case can even be brought carry on. I will take some precautions, but otherwise seems it should not be a problem! For my use case, I play poker for a living and this requires having lots of programs open at once (16 GB ram), it does some "prime 95" like calculations (I7) and heavily uses a program that reads/writes to a PSQL database (SSD/m.2). I will use the computer many hours a day, and I do plan on gaming with it, but my needs are very low. I like to play CS:GO on medium / low settings and thats about it. (2560x1440 at 144hz / 144 FPS would be nice). Given all of these considerations, and a rough budget of $1200, I am left with this build given my options here in Thailand. Please let me know if theres any inferior parts I could upgrade, but availability here is lacking, and parts are expensive! $90 for bottom of the bin ddr4 2x8 GB 2133mhz ram for example. Fan / fan filter to work with stock CPU cooler and filter dust, which there is a lot of here and no stock fan included. My cooling options for air is limited to Argon Ar06. I was considering upgrading to I7 6700k + NZXT X31 cooler and gigabyte z170 board, the 6700k is very reasonably priced here, as is the cooler, but I don't anticipate much overclockability in this hotbox, and the cooler may present an issue with travel (although I could remove it before hand). 21. Hello! I am going to build a new gaming rig with this parts: 1.MSI Computer Motherboard Mini ITX DDR4 Z170I GAMING PRO AC 2.GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Extreme Waterforce 3.Intel Core i7-6700K 4.2X8GB DDR4 2400 Kingston HyperX Fury I will use the Silverstone sg13 case for it. And I am planning to use the water cooler support of the case for the video card. My problem is that I don't know how to cool the CPU... My local shops don't have SFX PSUs. And if I use ATX there wont be space for big cooler. Can you help me with the choise of those parts PSU and CPU cooler? I have purchased my case and I wait for the delivery. I don't know how much space I will have in the case for PSU and the cooler. Is it possible to use water cooler for the CPU too? If yes, where will I put the radiator?
  22. hello guys! How are you? I'm interested to buy SG13 case from silverstone. So my question is what is your opinion about this case? Any good/bad expirience with this case?
  23. So after watching Linus and Luke's great video about building a titanX powerhouse inside the ITX case; the Silverstone SG13, I decided to buy the case myself and transfer my current CoolerMaster Elite 130 ITX rig (Intel I5 4670, GTX 980, 1 x 500 GB SSD, 1 x 500 GB HDD) All I can say is that the whole experience was a massive disappointment. The whole thing ended with me returning the case to Amazon and getting a full refund. Problem number one: Case arrived with a slightly bent panel where the IO shield goes in. Easily enough fixed with a pair of pliers, but not great. A sign that perhaps the packaging isn't great if bumped about too much. Problem number two: Cables coming from front power button had become detached in transport. Again this could simply be an issue related to the packaging, however I do not think it is. Looking at where the wires had disconnected, they were clearly very poorly attached to the front panel PCB. The wire was incredibly thin as was the plastic covering. There appeared to be little to no solder actually holding the wire in place. The fact that both the wires coming from the power button had become detached at exactly the same point does beg the question on quality control and construction. Problem number three: All the adverts for this case suggest that it will house upto 3 x 2.5" drives (1 mounted in the bottom under the radiator, 2 mounted to the shelf on top) or it will house, 1x 2.5" drive and 1x 3.5" drive (2.5 inch drive mounted under the radiator, 3.5 inch drive mounted on shelf) Here is the issue; there is absolutely no way that the shelf in the top front of the case is usable with any ATX power supply I have seen on the market. Linus and Luke were not able to use it with their build and I had no chance what so ever in getting a 3.5 inch drive mounted in the top of this case. Any cables coming out of the front of the power supply immediately go into the location where the drive would be mounted. Even if I didn't have a cable going to the graphics card, the Sata power cables and motherboard cables are simply in the way. Annoyingly, I didn't realise that the front power cable was broken until I had already installed almost the whole rig into the case. When it got to the point of installing the 3.5 inch drive, and realising that it would not fit, I then decided to put the front panel back on, only then realising that the cable connected to the power button was still in the box. I decided to go for a full refund rather than a replacement as the whole experience left a very sour taste in my mouth, and because I had already had noticed that there was no way I could possibly put my rig inside it despite advertising otherwise.
  24. NCIX: http://bit.ly/1FPzwXY Amazon: http://geni.us/1xPE The SilverStone SG13 struck a chord with us in our "Xeon in a shoebox" build from a few weeks back. So we decided to give it a bit more time in the spotlight.
  25. I have seen a video that Linus build with the Silverstone Sugo series sg13 case. I wonder if a MSI R9 390 gaming 8G would fit in there. If it doesn't fit, I will choose the 970. Also, will a MSI GTX 970 gaming 4G and fit in this case? (It is a bit long with it's specs, may be squeeze it in the case may work)
