Hello everyone ! I am soon about to move into a personal office, in which I am going to work on different web design projects that I am currently working on my Asus k555l laptop. My main dilemma right now is this - Should I get a new set-up all together, desktop monitor etc. for the sake of different resolution testing (my laptop is only 1366x768p so I have to zoom in and out on browsers to simulate other resolutions) and for better performance (this laptop is kind of struggling with Photoshop's newer versions at higher res images) or should I continue working mainly on my laptop and just get a Full HD monitor so I can preview my projects on it? Current laptop has a i5-5200U dual core at max 2.7 Ghz GeForce 940M with 2 gigs of memory 1TB hard drive 15.6'' display at 1366x768 res and 6 gigs of RAM Honestly I dont really have any idea what I should be aiming at if I decide to get a desktop. Probably something like an i5 again but quad core? I am guessing the 940 GeForce with 2gigs is gonna do just fine as a desktop version compared to the mobile one I have right now. The hard drive doesnt really matter, currently I am working on small projects, none of which go over a gigabyte of memory in total so storage isnt really an issue at this point, maybe an upgrade later on will be required though. I am planing to use 2 monitors in both cases, weather I bring my laptop or I get a new desktop And trying not to blow a budget of 600-ish dollars. So which option would make more sense in my current scenario ? Thanks in advance !

Hello All, I am currently looking into building a Windows computer and I would like to know if there's a way to wireless setup a monitor to the tower. I would like to take the monitor with me to other places and work it either wireless keyboard and/or wireless mouse, not be stuck with the tower. I would like to know if there are ways to achieve this. Thanks in advance for all inputs.

Greetings guys, I have joined the forums today for this sole purpose: to propose a proper set for the server room. Although not brought up often, when a video is made that revolves around the server room it is clearly not up to the standards that we have seen from LMG. What is the production quality of a closet? I feel that for how important it is, a typical server closet does not do it justice, and does not fit the LMG style. Furthermore Linus loves messing around with that stuff, he has true passion for it. Watching a passionate man play with his enterprise toys makes for good content IMO. I believe a proper set would open up the doors for future videos of Linus geeking out, because he would have way more options and less limitations. In my head I see a proper sized room, sealed, insulated, fireproof, dust filtered, and maybe even having an air shower system, because why not — it seems like something Linus would do. It would have it's own climate control, and maybe even some active noise cancellation technology which would make a great video as well. Finally, RGB of course. The whole room. Those are just my assumptions on what the team would do, but I am sure you guys have a lot of suggestions as well. Looking forward to hearing your feedback, Cheerio –madscience2728

Hello everyone, so I have started to transform my set up (from one 4k monitor and 2 1080p monitors) into a triple 4k set up. This is NOT to game in super wide 4k to be clear. I just game on the middle monitor, but I want the nice smooth transition to the side monitors (using 1080p monitors on the sides make the mouse go wonky and create scaling issues) so I want the same resolution for all. What would be a good graphics card for this? I'm currently running a gtx970 strix. 4GB but it only has a single DP.

Hi guys..My cousin recently decided to get a new PC (mainly for every day use and occasional gaming) so I told her I would help her choose the parts and build it. Meanwhile a friend of mine is selling his AM3+ platform (8350,990fxa gigabyte mobo,2x4gb hyperx ram) for 200 euros (they cost 350 new although I dont think they are worth that much nowadays) Anyway the thing is that the parts are like new and im 100% sure no oc has been applied ever (they are not even a year old so there is still a warranty). My only concerns are : 1) Is the 8350 able to handle todays games with such a low single core performance? Will it be able to handle future titles? Will the 8 cores (4 modules) be utilized properly? 2)My cousin has already a PC with an i5 2310 sandy bridge which will be given to her dad..will she notice a downgrade in performance? (fyi she doesnt use editing software) 3)I was ready to search for skylake i5 6500 combos (costing around 300+ with a cheap..ish microATX board)would it be worth the extra cash? Sorry for the long post and thanks for reading..

Hi. So I cloned my old SSD (C drive) to my new SSD (G drive). When I cloned it, I set the new SSD to boot first in BIOS. But for some reason, the old SSD still boots. I've included a screenshot of my Disk Management window, please take a look if you don't mind. You can see that the C drive says "Healthy (Boot, Crash Dump, Primary Partition)", and the G drive only says "Healthy (Primary Partition)". How do I make the G drive say "Boot"? Thanks in advance, all help is appreciated

Good Morning all, Question: The advice to use Dual Channel, but a MB with Four slots ? Is there a less expensive MB that has only two slots for Ram ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132052 I have a Kingston Hyperx 3k 240Gb SATA III SSD already. Intended Use: COD UO, Steam Games Goal: Minimal Cost AMD Original Build http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Diozark/saved/CwrnTW Intel Original Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Diozark/saved/wqqQzy Intel Modified Build based on suggestions: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Diozark/saved/sJxPxr Here is some help I received from dmanschramm I think the build is great, and the 750Ti will play 1080p at roughly 60fps (maybe not ultra but high settings definitely -> it'll play BF4 at roughly 35fps on ultra) But I do recommend going with a Pentium G3258 (which is EXTREMELY overclockable) and a Z97 board (whichever you want, motherboard doesn't impact performance, but I personally prefer Asus) which will get you drastically improved performance for minimal cost. Looks great! You might want to get a dual channel 8x2 RAM for expandability. Also, a better PSU would allow for upgrading and better overclocking for better processors. Thank You

Hello everyone. I have gotten many faulty monitors in the past from the IT department that I now work at, and most of them have been fixable (bad caps, faulty supply, shattered backlighting tube, ect) and they have all been 4:3 monitors at 1280x1024 or less. Not great for gaming, especially when a game refuses to run on eyefinity or that one of them had an "impressive" 25ms response time. I recently got 3 syncmaster 204b displays and fixed them, and the 1600x1200 resolution looks nice and sharp compared to what I was using. Now I want to go further and get myself some widescreen monitors 21in or bigger, and I want them to be IPS or useable-end TN. I use V226HQL monitors at work and I could not believe my eyes when I read that a monitor so cheap yet good looking was a TN panel. The blacks look very good on this display, but the 8ms response time is the killer for me. So looking for a budget set of three displays, where can I find some matching NONFUNCTIONAL displays that would be good for gaming? I can generally fix 1. Flickering or flashing 2. Turning off after a bit 3. Not turning on at all However, I do not want anything that has 1. a cracked panel 2. Dead pixels/lines 3. Pressure damage 4. Scratches 1080p is NOT a must, but I wont be paying a lot for a 1440x900 panel... Thanks!

Hu guys, Is there such a thing as a wireless suround speaker set for my home theater. Right now I have an old set and the wires are as ugly as it can get. Howeveer I am going to be moving and I want to leav this one behind and wanto switch to a wireless one. The goal is 7.1 but anything above is fine as well. I found 1 7.1 but that is small (on table) and 5.1 isn't good.

My dad had this card returned to his store, and I got to keep it. So I've decided to play around with it, in order to create a guide on how to make the load identifying LED stay red. Typically with these GPUs, there are 3 colours that the LED will glow, to show the user how much load the GPU is under. If you're like me, and pretty pedantic about the colours inside your case, then you've probably already wondered why Asus don't let you set the colour yourself? Although theoretically possible, Asus don't seem to be releasing a driver update that allows you to do this any time soon. So that's where the fun part begins. NOTE: This is completely reversible and will not void your warranty. Start by removing the 2 screws on either side of the fan housing. http://i.imgur.com/bKNATfY.jpg Next, remove the plug that attaches the housing to the GPU. Then, Remove the screw that holds the LED module in place and unplug the module. On the plug for the module there are 5 pins in total. 1. Power 2. Earth 3. Blue Illumination power signal 4. Orange illumination power signal. 5. Red illumination power signal. As seen in the image, remove pins 3, 4 & 5. Then place pin 1 into the slot for pin 5. - To do this you will need to lift up the black tabs on the plug with a small screwdriver, while gently tugging the wire out from the back. - http://i.imgur.com/8m27die.jpg Next, isolate the pins 3, 4 & 5 and cover them so they don't short anything out. You can mark them with coloured electrical tape, like i have done. This will help when/if you reverse this process. (Unintentional McDonalds product placement & My Girlfriend's boobs) http://i.imgur.com/SkSrHk1.jpg Plug everything back in and mount the fan housing back onto the GPU. Place the GPU into your PC and enjoy the single LED colour. http://i.imgur.com/jnjDfFH.jpg Good luck.

Hey guys I was wondering what would be a good speaker set or brand for gaming or listening to things on YouTube like music/gameplay videos? I'd like to keep my price range in between $100-150 if possible.

AMD FX6300 + GTX 760 or Intel Core i5 4590+ R9 270X I will overclock the FX6300 with water aftermarket cooler and i5 will use a cheap aftermarket air cooler to make the systen look better. I cant decide because the GTX 760 is better, but the i5 is better aswell. P.S i5 will not OC. Mobo for intel is:Gigabyte GA-H97 Gaming 3 and AMD is Gigabyte Ga-990FXA-UD3 REV 4. I plan to do SLI /Crossfire on both types of GPUs. I have a 650W PSU.

Soooo, I've got my headset from microsoft, and it is easily breaking, quality is like... ummm.... well, shiet. Now, every headset that i broke didn't have a USB interface, it was connected trough jacks for microphone and audio, and well, the ports i need to plugin in the jacks break easily, and i've noticed that doesn't happen with USB's. So, what is the best USB headset, price is not a problem, and oh yeah, it needs to have a decent microphone quality.

Hai. Short version: Need a program to play music using an automatically updating playlist, updating from a set folder including all changes like remove missing files from playlist, and add new files in folder to playlist. Long version: I'm looking for a program that can play my music 24/7 and automatically apply any changes that happens in the directory - like remove deleted files from the playlist, add new files being put into the specified folder to the current playlist etc. I already tried the functions in Winamp and Windows Media Player, they both lack some of the things I need. The idea is to have an online stream from my home server stream my music to my phone while I'm not home, and having the flexibility of syncronizing the folder on the server (the one the playlist gets it's tracks from) with the computer I have at work. I already syncronized the computers, it works perfectly. Now I just need to find a way to automatically update the playlist while it's playing (eventually at the end of every song, or at set intervals like 10 mins without starting from a new song when it rechecks). It's a little hard to describe what I actually want, but I hope you get the idea. Thanks for your input

Hi guys, I have the Netgear R6100 router. I have this option unchecked on the WiFi page: "Enable SSID Broadcast". I do this for security reasons. Only people who I give the name/password should be able to connect to it. I don't want random passerbys to see it, but I want the people I let connect to it. However, I have to give them the SSID/password every day. Their devices never remember them even when "Remember this network" is checked. This is on an iMac specifically. Why? This particular person has a similar setup at his home (where the SSID is invisible, but he can connect to it if he knows the name/password), and his devices at his house remember the network just fine. What gives? Thanks, Vitalius.
