I love collecting console games, retro, modern, etc. However I have a few concerns and am curious about possible improvements to the set up. You can see the wires, they're decently organized, but not fantastically plus the sheer quantity of them makes it hard to manage. Any ideas on how I can better manage/hide these cables, even if I should make a change in the shelf/stand I have a lot of retro consoles and a major concern of mine is that these electrical components are very old and because of that I don't trust them to be hooked up to power without my supervision. Currently I use a very large power strip which has a switch that I turn off whenever I'm not home and using a console in the set up. Is there a better way to go about this? Is there a better way to store the controllers, especially the wired ones? I worry that the wires are degrading as I wrap them around themselves and have noticed that they start to twist and take that shape permanently. I like things to appear fairly neat and be easy to get in and out. Any ideas? My original Xbox and Xbox One S need new feet however I haven't been able to really find any, someone know where I can find some? Is there anyway to protect my purchase in the case of a fire? Perhaps I could convert the physical library to digital in some cases and continue to use the discs for as long as they're available? I'm also looking for possible improvements to my desk set up and am curious if any of you guys have any ideas. I don't want to purchase a new desk as this one was quite expensive, but it has some size constraints and I was considering a few possibilities. A second Apple Studio Display. I always had duel monitors when I was a PC person, I've since switched to Apple Silicon for the time being. I love my Apple Studio Display, but I'm considering purchasing another identical model. The one concern is crowding my desk. I'd like to maintain what I call a messy minimalistic approach, there is also the concern of making my one wire set up a two wire set up for hooking up one of my Macs and reducing easy access to them. I'd like the server to be more hidden, but it runs Linux Mint so not everything is accessible in the terminal. I do tend to do most things via the terminal allowing SSH to be a great solution for most of the time. Is there perhaps some remote monitoring applications (free of charge preferably and not requiring an online account) that I could employ to maintain desktop access when required without needing an additional legacy monitor? I use the server to host my Valheim and Minecraft server. Should I adjust the storage of the lots of retro computers and parts I have? I use these for repairing/maintaining retro machines and am working on making some videos in regards to the equipment I have. I'm really hoping to minimize the cluttered look. Notes about the photos: I keep my RGB strip, Time Machine m.2 and usb dongle on the back of my Apple Studio Display, I've also recently added a USB SuperDrive (don't worry I didn't buy it new as that would be a total rip off). I have two Macs in vertical stands, one is my main machine an M1 Pro 14" and the other is an old Intel Mac from 2019 that I use only for Windows and playing some games that are only available on Windows. I use the shelving and platform to my right when facing my monitor to repair machines and stop tools and some software. The beige shelf stores more hardware and to the left of me in the photo is another hardware shelf. The legacy monitor is for my server and I'd love to retire and discontinue daily use, keeping it around only as a spare. Looking forward to your guy's recommendations.

For my setup I have a EK Nucleus CR360 as my top fans, however I have 3 extra case fans currently on me with more arriving in a little over a week. The case in use is the Lian Li O11, so what would be the best setup for the 3 case fans with the liquid cooler fans on top and then as well for when I get the extra 3 fans?

Budget (including currency): Flexible, less than 1K (American Dollars), but willing to hear pricier options Country: USA Games, programs, or workloads that it will be used for: I currently use my Gaming PC for house management and gaming. I also use a Macbook 16" M1 Pro for my business. I am currently a mental health therapist and am slowly about to open my practice. I also plan on working as a social work professor should the interviews go well! The only reason I chose Mac is the inability to play the games I like while I try to focus on work. This could be done easiest (?) with a docking station, a hybrid Bluetooth and wireless keyboard (plugged into the PC, use a potential switch to Bluetooth and then connect the mouse/keyboard/Airpods). I am using separate mice for the builds. I do not want to use the soundbar, controller, stream deck, and webcam on the Mac. If I need to video call, I'd like to slide out my laptop, to that is can work independently of the battlestation.. It also needs to be easily accessible because I need to be able to take it to the office every weekend. -I want to cut down on the clutter. I get very overwhelmed very fast when my desk looks like shit. I work at it for a week or three, then try to work one random day, dump everything into a doom box, and go through it later. This means that if we are looking at keyboards, I am ok with something larger than the Huntsman mini (I actually would be ok with an upgrade to a new keyboard. I never knew how much I would miss arrow keys). I am also ok with mounts behind the screens/attached to the screens. I am ok with screwing into the bottom of the desk. I currently use cord wraps to "pretty up" my cable management (the desk is in the middle of the room), as can be seen in the room (room diagram below) -For gaming, I do a lot of single-player games, Diablo 4, Overwatch, and Fallout 76. Limits/Requests/My ideas: -I expect that I am buying things to make this look fresh. I am happy to buy what I need, just let me know what to buy. I am somewhat technologically skilled and can look up stuff, but I am not an engineer or IT guy. Enthusiast-level here. If you recommend building a keyboard, then I am cool with that. -I expect to buy a docking station, a new keyboard, and mounting hardware (such as https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B857WRHH/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_9?smid=A1Q7UZ92W7MBS1&psc=1) however, I am open to suggestions). However, please let me know if something can enable me to do this better. The only thing I am unwilling to replace is the desk or move it. -If I need a new middle screen, I need it to be a similar size or bigger than my current Acer. I also need speakers because I can't figure out how to provide sound for the switch. I'm willing to buy a new screen if I need to. -Amazon Day is July 11/12, and If you provide me links to Amazon, they will be stored in my save for later cart until that day. -As I said before, I am ok with mounting things under my desk. This includes the sound bar for my PC. -I am looking at these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MQ9Y628/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_10?smid=A1IPY1FU7NDBC7&psc=1)to add to the side of my desk as extra storage remote holsters. Creative solutions like this are encouraged, plus I love neat setup stuff. I don't have a lot of tools or building experience (besides something prefab), but my wife and brother-in-law are good with assembling stuff. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP!!!

I'm upgrading my initial build to a larger case in the next week and my plan was to put it on top of the 2 drawer high filing cabinet next to my desk. There's not enough room on my desk currently for this big of a case(the Phanteks eclipse G500A) but I can maybe place it under the desk.I live in a basement apartment currently so dust and debris is everywhere no matter how ofter we vacuum. Is it a concern to keep a case on the floor if it's laminate vs if it's on carpet? My current case sits in a very small TV stand under my desk to keep it off of the laminate flooring but the new case definitely won't fit in the tv stand. My plan is to put the new build on the filling cabinet next to my desk but I'm worried about it sitting on a metal surface being an issue and it shorting the case. Is that even a concern or am I worried about nothing? Thanks!

Hello, I'm in the search for a new monitor. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Lg's 5k2k ultrawide would pair well with my dell xps 9570. I know it is hard to power something like it with just a laptop but I won't game on it or anything. Searching for something a little bit future proof. Any advice is more than welcomed. Thank you very much

I got my hands on a copy of windows 10 education version. I was wondering if its better for my to do a clean windows reinstall and install all the drivers or use the windows reset option, what i need to install after and what asus bloatware to watch out for

Hello everyone I just moved to Spain, Alicante, next to the beach, where I will be working from home. I would like to set up my office in my bedroom. I plan on buying everything in the next few weeks when VEGA comes out ... For now, I only have one desk, a chair and a bed. I would like to know your opinion on the decisions I am about to make. I also should let you know that I have never built a PC before and that I prefer performance over form. I want a PC for work, hobby and gaming. Work: I work for a startup company that makes Application Specific Integrated Circuits. We use quite intensive programs. I also write code using IDE’s such as Visual Studio. Most of the time I have to multitask and have plenty of programs and windows opened simultaneously. Hooby: Apart from watching shows and gaming I also plan on making small games on my free time. That means running Unity3D, UE4, Maya, Blender, Adobe suite, Visual studio, ect… Gaming: I haven’t played much on PC because my laptop was not strong enough but I do plan doing so with this build. I am not into FPS games. I’m more into 3rd person fantasy RPG games or action/platform games. I rarely play online games (maybe LOL or FFXIV) and definitely not at a competitive level. I plan on gaming on a TV instead of a monitor. My budget: not over 5000euros PC: +-2000€ Monitors: +-1000€ UHD TV: +-1500€ others: +-500€ I would like the finished set up to look something like this (I made it, using SketchUp): The room is square 3x3m (10x10ft). Currently I only have the white desk, the sofa/bed and the chair. I need to buy everything else. The bed is surrounded by windows and at the bottom wall (on the second picture) is covered with a wardrobe. I cannot wall mount the TV because the wall is too thin. Let me now if you have any improvement ideas on the deposition of furniture and displays. Now for the tech stuff. In Spain, all electronics are about 20% more expansive than in the US. And some components cannot be found here. I can get them shipped, but that might not be worth it. PC Builds My current plan build: CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 -330€- GPU: VEGA (the mid or best one) -750€??- MotherBoard: Gigabyte AX370-Gaming K5 -170€- Compatible with 3200Mhz ram Cooling: Noctua NH-D15 -90€- SSD: Samsung 960 EVO 500GB NVMe -250€- HDD: 1TB x2 -100€- RAM: G.Skill 32GB DDR4-3200 32GB -300€- Power: EVGA 650 GQ 650W -100€- Case: Nox NXHUMMERZSZ -50€- I like windowed but anything cool is fine Total: 2140€ + shipping costs Displays I would like two 27inch monitors. I want monitors with mobility to rotate in portrait mode when necessary. I want my monitors to be: - 27inch - IPS or VA - <10ms response time - 1440p - 60Hz or higher refresh rate - >95% srgb I could have two different monitors. One, with these specs, as my secondary monitor and a main monitor with the same specs but with the addition of freesync and a higher refresh rate. I’m probably going to play most of my games on the TV instead of the monitor tough, except if mouse and keyboard are needed. The monitors I’m looking at are: BenQ BL2420PT -250€- (23.8" but very good price) BenQ GW2765HT -330€- BenQ PD2700Q -380€- Acer XF270HU -630€- Dell UltraSharp U2715H -460€- I’m currently thinking of getting two BenQ PD2700Q because of the image quality, but it is more than a 100€ more than the 24’’ BenQ so I am not sure if it is worth that much. Total: 760€ TV I want a 4K hdr tv because I play a lot on my ps4 pro and pc games are starting to get hdr content. I want something with nice colors for when I watch movies, series, anime and play games. I’m also getting a switch so I want a good quality image for sdr content and a good upscaling. I am struggling to choose between tvs. 1400€ SONY 49’’ XE9005: I used the Sony XD8005 during 6 months and I was pretty happy except the motion blur was a bit bad and the android OS would do weird things sometimes. But I think I’d be happy with this better version. 1200€ SAMSUNG 49’’ KS8000 (refurbished): It’s a nice TV, probably one of the best models that came out in 2016. 1900€ LG OLED 55’’ C6: It’s oled enough said. It’s also curved and has 3d (which I don’t really care about) 1800€ SAMSUNG 49’’ Q7F + free 40’’ 4k smart TV: QLED it’s good but not as good as OLED. It has more color depth and brighter image (in hdr) but blacks are not as good and sdr content in general is not as good. But until the 30th of July there’s a special deal where the Q7F comes with a free 40’’ 4k smart TV the 40UM6105 worth 500€. I could use that second tv in the living room since it’s small. What do you think, is oled really that much better than QLED? I am leaning more towards the SAMSUNG KS8000 but the fact that it is refurbished is a bit of a down side and I might also miss the deal if I wait to long. If I miss the KS8000, I’ll get the Sony XE9005. Total: 1200€ Others No need for anything fancy, I might just use my current 10€ mouse and keyboard for now. Do you recommend buying speakers, depending on the monitor/TV I get? TV furniture: it must be done on measure -200€- Ethernet AC + switch: Better than WIFI especially with all the interference here -100€- Total: 300€ Complete set up Total: 4400€ Final thoughts Finding PC components in Spain is hard I may need to get international delivery for some component. Here are a few sites I found for Hardware in Spain (I'm mainly gonna use amazon.es): http://www.coolmod.com/ http://www.izarmicro.net/ http://www.pccomponentes.com/ http://www.tacnet.es https://www.amazon.es/ Thank you for reading through my post I’m really excited to get this done. Please let me know what you think of the components and the setup. I hope to hear from you soon

Hi, I built my new custom PC and really don't know what monitors to get for it, I am planning on having 3 monitor setup, one 27in (for league of legends and that type of gaming), one 34in (for other games like gta, call of duty, the witcher etc) and another 34in (for streaming on youtube, movies/ tv shows and Skype and stuff like that). I was told I shouldn't get a 4k monitor as I can not have full advantage of the graphic cards so I was wondering what I can get to make full use of the graphics card and the monitors. (I was planning on 2 Predator X34 or 2 Asus PG348Q and 1 Predator XB271HU or Predator Z27q or Asus PG279Q or PG27UQ). So could you please help pick 3 monitors where I will be taking full advantage of them and the build and will go ell for my use of them. Thanks a lot and really appreciate it!!My Build:I7 7700k 8mG.Skill Trident Z 16G (8Gx2) 3000Asus Rog Strix GTX 1080TI OC (Only one)Asus Strix Z270E (Motherboard)

Hello everyone. I got a new monitor for Christmas and I would like some help setting it up please. I currently have a Samsung monitor and I just got another Samsung monitor, so I now have two. I can plug both of their HDMI cables into the HDMI socket of my graphics card and they can both work. However, when I try to plug one computer's HDMI cable into the Motherboard socket, the computer does not register that there is a monitor connected to the port. This motherboard is new, and there are currently no problems I have had with it so far. Can anyone help me out here please? Is ti a problem with me not activating something to make the motherboard read from that port? Also, should I buy a Comsol DisplayPort to HDMI 4K2K adaptor for plugging the vord of the second monitor into the graphics card's other video ports? P.S. My specs are as follows CPU: i7 6700K RAM: Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 2x8GB CPU Cooler: Can't remember, really good ugly though. Drive: 3TB HGST DeskstarNAS and a Samsung 500GB drive (install Windows 10 Pro) Motherboard: MSI Z170AGaming M5 Motherboard Case: Corsair Obsidian 450D Power Supply: Corsair CS650M 80+ Gold PSU Graphics Card: GTX 1070

Okay so i recently bought a 2nd 1080p 144hz monitor and for some reason the 2nd display will only show 60hz. When i change the setting to 144hz in NVIDIA control panel it just blacks out the one monitor and reverts back to 60hz. I have them both connected via display port to a GTX 1070. if any one can help it would be much appreciated.

Hi all, I'm looking for the best fan configuration for a build. It's a Meshify C case and a H100i. It's the first time I'll have used liquid cooling and I'm not sure the best placement for it. My old build was 3 intake fans up front, exhausted top and rear. My understanding is that the radiator for the H100i will prevent air exhausting from wherever I put it (tell me if I'm wrong). So do I put it at the top and have the air go front to back, or visa versa? Thanks.

Hello Everyone, hope everything is alright. I come here to ask for opinion and help on a matter I've been struggling with! -->I bought the HP Omen X35 monitor, it was the cheapest(600$ at the time) for g-sync and 35' ultrawide 100Hz But I wanna have a second monitor just for discord/twitch/youtube/facebook and that sort of stuff, nothing too big or fancy, no need for high Refresh Rate or super high resolution. But I want to find a cool monitor that would fit well with my Omen X35, I mean in terms of color and layout. I was thinking something about 19" maybe. Someone said I should get another HP monitor for the perfect color balance between each monitor. (not sure) --> Another matter that is really messing with me is finding a desk arm support for my monitor. I just cant seem to find a desk support, that supports all this weight and that is not 160$. If I can find a solution with you guys I'll be most gratefull!

I am trying to build my first pc. I dont really want to go into over clocking or too much water cooling. I have a spreadsheet with what I have so far and it would be great if someone could help me out with either just reviewing what i have and saying what i'm doing wrong/right or to point me in an entirely new direction. Thanks. Computer Build.pdf

So I'm in Florida, US. I was given $7,000 specifically to spend on a PC set up. *Includes desk and Chair* I will use the system for Gaming, Video Editing and Rendering, some 3D work. For gaming I tend to be really into simulators, racing specifically, mostly I would game on one monitor and have the two others for misc things like video editing programs and browsing and only race on all three. I'm looking for three monitors, had my eyes set on the Acer 27' 1440p IPS G-Sync Panel but if there are better feel free to recommend them. Or two monitor set up doesn't matter as long as it can be good for both single and surround monitor gaming. I already looked into peripherals as far as things go I even have a desk and chair chosen; DeathAdder Chroma, Corsair K95 RGB, Sennhieser PC 363D, DX Racer Gaming Chair and the Vert-Desk. Im upgrading because for the past 5 years I've had to bear with a HP TouchSmart 320 and it doesn't even have a GPU. It is a dinosaur and I cant bear it any longer. I thought that this would be a fun project for all the PC experts on the forums to put together a redicolously overpowered multi-purpose computer. Additional Details : X99 Platform, Red/Black Theme and please NO WATER COOLING. Thank you, I tried to be as specific as possible. I put together a reference rig of kind of what I'm looking for but I'm sure you guys will do a way better job than me. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Vfm77P

So, I want to put a corsair H60 in my Phanteks evlov itx case (1 200mm intake in the front and 1 140mm exhaust added to the rear) If I were to mount the radiator to the top rear of the case, would it make more sense to mount the fans as an exhaust or as an intake like the corsair manual suggests?
