Hi, I'm looking at replacing the caps on my Game Gear, but I can't seem to find a decisive answer for the particular board in my system. It is a 837-9130 va1 board, I would like to find out if anyone knows anything about them and can help with finding the right list of caps I will need. I have also Included a photo of the main board. Thanks, Paul.

From the album: Other Mods
Completely stripped down the shell, Painted it, then soldered in blue LED in place of the orange one, then swapped in a tiny (40mm I think?) blue LED fan and installed a Blue LED on the controller to light up the VMU screen in the dark. -
Saw this in passing...seems there will be a Streets of Rage 2 clone release on Steam with Yakuza characters as part of Sega's 60th anniversary celebration called Streets of Kamurocho. It releases Oct. 17 and will be free until the 19th. https://www.escapistmagazine.com/v2/streets-of-rage-2-yakuza-officially-combine-as-streets-of-kamurocho-for-a-limited-time/ EDIT: Also on the 18th, there's Golden Axed: A cancelled prototype coming on Steam (again for free)

SEGA continues to celebrate their 60th anniversary event, the same event that brought us Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for free on Steam last weekend (it's still free until October 19th if you missed out). Now, as a part of this ongoing celebration, players can redeem a free copy of the classic Saturn game NiGHTS into Dreams to download through Steam. The Steam version is a remastered port with enhanced graphics, but it still has an option to play with the old Saturn graphics if you would prefer. To get your code, simply go to this link: https://www.sega60th.com/register From there, you'll be asked to enter your email and link to your Steam account, after which the game will be immediately added to your Steam library. Setting up the game can be a bit confusing. It defaults to running in a small window and controllers won't work. To enable controller support and enter fullscreen, you have to launch the game through Steam (not on your desktop) and select "Configure". From there you can increase the resolution, make the game fullscreen, and enable controllers. It seems as though these promotions will continue for the next 8 weeks, with SEGA making new games and content available for free through their website every week. The final week ends the event with some sort of Sonic the Hedgehog related content, but it's unclear exactly what it is as of right now. Perhaps it's an early kickoff to the franchise's 30th anniversary celebration slated for next year, since 8 weeks from now would put us in early-mid December. Either way, I'm excited to see what other games and content we'll be getting in the coming weeks, as I'm never one to refuse a freebie. Edit: Maybe we won't be getting more free games in the coming weeks. SEGA has changed the site to say "weekly goodies drops" instead. I swear it said free games before. Who knows what the "goodies" will entail though.

Credit to UFD Tech on this one: https://www.criticalhit.net/gaming/wild-rumour-the-xbox-series-x-could-be-rebranded-as-the-sega-series-x-in-japan/ https://gamerant.com/sega-big-announcement-microsoft-xbox/ Summary: Sega might be launching a rebranded XSX in Japan, since Xbox always fails in Japan. Thoughts: Lots of wild rumors and it's 2020, so who knows what is really happening. However, this actually would make great sense for both companies. Sony wins the Console Wars because they get 7-9 million sales in Japan that Microsoft can't match. A SEGA-branded console in Japan will at least sell more than a Xbox-branded one, and, if SEGA is actually outright supporting it with Japan-only features, there is a lot of money to be made for both companies. It would be a great strategic alliance for Xbox and SEGA could use the money. Bring on the Dream-Box!

Steam has an other sale, this one is for SEGA, titled "Make War, Not Love". Now is the time to grab some of these game's you've been waiting on. Sale ends on Monday though. It's fairly short lived. http://store.steampowered.com/sale/mwnl4/

I just bought a game system called the retron 3, as the name suggests it plays games from the Sega Genesis, SNES, and NES, I currently have super Mario Bros and Tetris for the NES and Mrs pacman for the Sega. I'm asking your opinion as to what games you would recommend to a beginner collector and also if you could link me to a cartridge of the 1981 galaxian game, if it even exists outside of an arcade machine

As anyone used one of these to power game consoles? Old NES, SNES, SEGA. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/1SpotProCS12--truetone-1-spot-pro-cs12-with-12-isolated-outputs Seems like a great option (provided you know the voltages so don't warn me) Audio equipment is well isolated and power surge protected. No more wall warts! The Sega Trio cost $65 dollars and I really should upgrade my current power supplies for my other systems. This seems like a great option.

recently i have noticed that games are not being optimized properly and devs are not putting an effort to do so, its like they just dont care, they want to sell and get money and maybe concentrate on consoles only. i have i7 4790, Vega 64, 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz and 2560x1080 monitor 21:9 @80hz. I run graphically amazing and intensive games no issues at screen refresh rate with some normal FPS dips at max settings, like shadow of the tomb raider, shadow of war, the witcher 3, Wolfenstein, BO4, BF1, the division... on the other hand you find games with the same graphics as above games and sometimes even less amazing but runs bad with many frame spikes, like far cry 5, assassin's Creed Odyessey, watch dogs 2, sudden strike 4, blitzkrieg 3, total war Warhammer 2, BF5, wildlands amd many other games, where CPU and GPU are sitting almost @50% -70% usage. i mean why are devs killing PC gaming? why cant a powerful PC run a game smoothly but a 300-500 dollars consoles can with decent graphics and smooth gaming? why DX12 and vulkan still not widely supported? although they game good boost when gaming. Recently PC gaming are being published but not polished, look at just cause 4, fallout 76, BF5...etc , they just dont care about PC community anymore, i know games are being pirated but dont blame the remaining majority. devs are just producing games to maximize their proft, ubisoft 2 AC games in 2 years! black ops 4 is a remaster from previous games, just cause 4 is bad.... many of pc gaming community are thinking of buying PS5 when available and abandon PC. atleast i dont have to worry about my 2000K rig running the game...

Reddit post by game cracker Voksi: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrackWatch/comments/908pg1/sega_rushes_the_new_denuvo_in_new_sonic_manias TorrentFreak article: https://torrentfreak.com/sega-accused-of-anti-consumer-behavior-with-rushed-sonic-mania-plus-protection-180720/ "I'm gonna focus here on the second post. This slowdown is caused by a trigger in the time attack menu when you scroll down till the last levels, which is not closed properly, which causes Denuvo to continue writing in its section until the game is closed, which causes massive game slowdown." "I've encountered this exact anti-tamper trigger while making my crack, which put the game in the exact same loop, in the exact same spot. So, this trigger is failing for this person on a legit copy. Good job, SEGA!" Proof and steam discussions on it in the Reddit thread. Voksi is a member of notorious game cracking group, REVOLT, and is known for their hard work cracking lots of Denuvo games the last few weeks (check their Reddit history).

This issue first came about when I tried to play an old PS1 game through my PS2 which was connected to capture setup which is Elgator game capture HD (not the 60FPS model). PS2 and original X Box games work fine but the PS1 games give me the out of range message. I am familiar with what this error means however I was wondering if anyone has found a way to get around it so the image can be displayed? I recently got my orginal Sega Megadrive connected to it as well and would love to start creating videos for those games. Thanks in advance for any help

It will ship with 80 games built in, as well as support for Mega Drive/Genesis cartridges. Features: 80 built-in gameslers in the pack 'Plug n Play'on any TV (Via VGA) Includes beloved Sonic the Hedgehog games Includes all 3 original Mortal Kombat games Two user friendly wireless SEGA MegaDrive controllers Compatible with SEGA MegaDrive cartridges* (not included) Includes AV cables Includes AC adapter My feelings on this are the same as my thoughts on the mini-NES: These will be awesome for a cabin or any place that doesn't have internet access... otherwise I'll just use emulators or the Sega Collection on Steam. Disappointing at the lack of HDMI support though. Edit: I forgot to mention, it will be out October 2016 Edit2: I spelt 'heels' wrong... #fail (thx @forthe48)

Hi, I am looking for a headset or headphone & mic combo to play on my PC and my Xbox 360. I've currently got a SteelSeries Siberia V2 Frost Blue Edition, it's pretty cool and very comfy but it's not compatible with Xbox 360 unfortunately. Preferably looking for awesome sound quality and my budget is < £100. Thank you.

It's finally been announced! With a high demand for the new Project Diva game to be easily availbe in the West, Sega decided to release it here too in August of this year. News about this has been rather hidden away, and not mention of it even though it was announced durring E3.. There is a Demo avaible on the PSN network as of the 10th aswell.. Really looking forward to the New Project Diva! ( I'm sure many, many, many people do not care for Miku, but her songs are awesome regardless, so no hate would be nice. ) OFFICIAL SEGA BLOG: http://blogs.sega.com/2013/06/11/hatsune-miku-project-diva-f-demo-available-on-psn-this-week/ Hatsune Miku's Youtube Video Announcement: Project Diva F will be avaible on the PS3, as well as the PSP
