Hello through out my years of experience in the cheating/developing cheats yes sorry guys I was one of them I know I have changed my ways. But something that has never been said or mentioned in the time till now about HWID Banned hardware and how the second hand market is now dodging hardware that is banned I know this by hearing of other cheaters selling their HWID Banned PC on eBay or any other second hand markets. Lets take a game Fortnite for example they have BE & EAC Anti-Cheats and both tag the systems HWID so for example HDD Serials CPU Serials SMBIOS Serials MAC Address sometimes even COM Ports So lets say someone was cheating and they got banned all those serials will be banned so if you create an account try play again you will be instantly banned. so then the cheater would sell off their system on a second hand market to buy a brand new system and means giving the banned system to an unfortunate person and who's going to realise when they play fortnite their account will be banned and then the chain goes on and on i wrote this as i haven't seen really anywhere talking about this and how people should double check on the second hand market the items their buying as this may of happened for years and just no one has really bring this up. this is just to warn people who usually go out for the second hand market to buy computer hardware as even buying a SSD of the market could flag the whole system Feel free to ask questions on my thoughts or not i don't mind

I was at Goodwill the other day and I saw a power supply just sitting in the tech section, next to all the remotes. It wasn't priced, but when I asked, an employee just marked it as $5. Seems like a good deal, but should I trust it? I know a bad power supply can fry just about any other component...

Hello, I might be able to get my hand on a decomissioned server for free. I don't know what cpu it has , all I know is that it has at least 32gb of ram and 24 1tb drives. I don't have any illusions of beeing able to use it for bitcoin or hosting services for a fee. besides that having a loud server the room isn't the best thing and electricity is a bit expensive where I live. I see this just as a fun project and opportunity to learn some stuff about running your own servers. So What are interesting projects I could do/play around with. So far I've come up with freenas (doing some raid with those 24 drives), nextcloud and Minecraft. What interesting things do you know that I could do with this server? I'm really open I just want to play around and learn a bit. I don't want to set up anything permanent. Big Thanks already in advance

Hey guys! Two months ago I had to sell my Sapphire Nitro RX580 8GB to pay for some medication for a loved one. Like all the people in my area, I sold my GPU for like, 300$. I dont regret it, since that person now feels better than ever. Now, after realising how essential for my mental health gaming with friends is, during these times. I decided to buy a GPU so I can finally get back to gaming. The current GPU shortage just made the prices go even higher, and looking on insert romanian craigslist equivalent here i found a "presumably" dead RX580 4GB for sale, for 100$ The seller said he buys them in batch, either from mining rigs or , so he doesnt really bother testing them too much. It's interesting that he said the "GPU won't post on an intel system" but "might work on AMD systems or older DDR3 based intel systems" I have minor troubleshooting skills in terms of hardware, so I'm not sure how confident would I be buying this card and trying to fix it. Even if it sounds stereotypical, the dude on the phone sounds pretty old. The "I think the HDMI port from the motherboard will do just fine" kind of old. Would you buy the card if you were me? Is any card "forever" dead? EDIT: Seller says RGB and the fans turn on.

Hey guys, I’ve recently been building this last-gen ddr3 pc out of second hand parts I’ve found and purchased online but it does not post, and it boots up as soon as I turn the psu on. First of all here are its specs: Mobo: msi gf615m-p33 v1.1 (has onboard graphics) CPU: amd Phenom II x4 945 95W version Memory: 2gb 133 + 4gb 1666 (1333) dimm sticks dGPU: msi R9 280 Gaming 3gd5 Storage drive (empty): WD Caviar SE WD2500JS 250GB 7200rpm hdd Psu: Poseidon 500W And here are the symptoms: As soon as I turn the PSU’s switch to on the motherboard turns on (probably a BIOS setting considering it’s a used mobo), but then nothing is displayed on the screen. It’s just blank. Same thing with both GPUs (I’ve plugged my monitor into both of them, one by one) And the onboard buzzer on the mobo does not beep either. Since the psu works well with other systems and so does the ram and the hdd (when plugged externally into other computers) I guess this could only be an issue with the motherboard or the cpu. What do you guys think? If you have any idea please leave a reply, because I don’t wanna feel like an idiot who spent money just to obtain trash... Thanks in advance!

So I finally have gotten my Unraid server set up and am transferring data but I am wanting to speed up the process a bit. I've been wanting to dip into fiber optic hardware so I thought why not begin with networking so I watched one of Linus several guides but I am just wanting a little clarification before I accidentally pull a bonehead move. So my parts list is: Transceiver https://www.ebay.com/itm/165425301254?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=CvlQ154ETKC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=6nwrp2jltms&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY NIC https://www.ebay.com/itm/224992359085?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=egWVjkadSDa&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=6nwrp2jltms&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Cable https://www.infinitecables.com/fiber-optic/fiber-optic-duplex-cables/50-micron-om4-multimode-1.6mm-ofnp/multimode-duplex-short-boots-om4-aqua-fiber-cable-1.6mm-jacket-ofnp/?variation_id=23514 A few questions I have is that it says Cisco compatible or ubiquity compatible does that mean it will not work peer to peer? On both ends I have Intel CPUs and I'm just looking for better than gigabit speeds. Also how do you decide on cables there are so many options and nothing is terribly clear. Thank you for any help!

I am looking to build a second-hand gaming pc on the budget and after looking for awhile I have cut my choices to those two prebuilds https://www.olx.bg/ad/fujitsu-esprimo-d757-e90-6th-gen-intel-core-i5-i5-6500-4-gb-CID632-ID87I71.html#0a0e13f6ad 145-USD i5-6500 4gb ddr4 https://www.olx.bg/ad/kompyutr-dell-optiplex-3020-i5-4590-CID632-ID883SI.html#492ae7aeb1 120-USD i5-4590 4gb ddr3 So my question is which one should I chose Both of them need upgrading with at least 4gb of ram, but if I got the old one I would be able to get 4gb for the price difference. The second thing I want to ask is about the GPU if I chose the newer model I would have to go with Low Profile GPU which may not be a problem since either way I am gonna pick a 1050TI This is the cheapest LOW PROFILE 1050TI on the market, but it is slightly bent. The seller claims that it's not a problem and says that he has replaced the thermal paste https://www.olx.bg/ad/gtx-1050ti-4-gb-gddr5-CID632-ID87qUC.html#2559817685 The next cheapest Low Profile GPU costs 45 dollars more. Here are some offers for 1050ti https://www.olx.bg/ad/geforce-gtx-1050ti-kfa2-CID632-ID89j3Z.html#90fce9e25a https://www.olx.bg/ad/prodavam-video-karta-gigabayt-1050ti-4gb-CID632-ID8964w.html#90fce9e25a https://www.olx.bg/ad/gtx-1050-ti-CID632-ID88tOY.html#90fce9e25a https://www.olx.bg/ad/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1050ti-4gb-single-fan-CID632-ID89ekl.html#90fce9e25a

Hello all, I am soon to start my first build. To save some bucks, I bought a secondhand intel 7700k cpu from a webstore. This is either a returned or repaired product. When it arrived it came in a padded envelop, no intel packaging left. Only the plastic cpu container and the manual. On youtube I hear allot about how fragile it is, if not careful. (bent pins, finger oils, ..) So my question is, once i have built my pc how can I know/test if the CPU is in good shape? Thanks in advance

200 euro PC build I'm going to try and built a very price to performance ratio pc, now here's what I'm planning on doing and please leave your thoughts in your reply! For the CPU I'm thinking about going for an i3 6100 because in Holland you can get it for only 40 to 50 euros (the new price is about 110 euros) For a motherboard I'm getting an Msi Pro vd secondhand or a gigabyte H110M on amazon they are both about 40 euros and I'm personnaly leaning towards the gigabyte motherboard because that one is new and with motherboards I'm not so secure with secondhand options. As for ram I could get 4 GB ddr 4 from crucial for 30 to 35 euros and 8 gigabytes for 60 euros. I already have a case that I could use and also a power supply, but the psu is a bit sketchy and the case is really ugly so on amazon I'm just gonna buy some cheap case for like 17 euros orso. I'm going to upgrade the psu to like a corsair vs 450 or something similair (or cheaper), this build isn't going to consume that much power. I can get a 500 gb harddrive for free and I'll just use unactivated windows 10. The GPU I'm still not sure about but my first thoughts were to go and look for a secondhand 1050, but those are still pretty expensive, my second thoughts were to buy a secondhand gtx 950 or 960 (2gb), thos are also still way to expensive in holland. Now my budget left over for the gpu would be about 75 euros, so does anyone have an idea, please reply. Thanks for reading! Ps: the main site in Holland for secondhand parts is Marktplaats.nl

Hi, So my name is Ollie and I'm 14, soon to be 15 on the 15th of august. Basically, in short, i got a job in February and built myself a PC with a Ryzen 7 3700x and a 2070s and 16gb of RAM at the start of lockdown in the UK. I was looking at Oculus Rifts for my birthday and they are way too expensive for the budget that my birthday will allow me! So i hopped onto eBay and was surprised to see all these rifts called "CV1" for sale for around the £150+ mark! These seem really good value to a VR noob like me that knows NOTHING about VR. Now i have been told that they can have a whole ton of issues that you can't just see from photos on eBay. Also is there some sought of a problem with the CV1 unit because there are loads for sale even with controllers. I will leave a link to one of the many eBay listings so you can see for yourselves what I'm talking about: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oculus-Rift-Virtual-Reality-Headset-With-Two-Sensors-And-Two-Touch-Controlers/143677769496?epid=831392616&hash=item2173dcc718:g:91oAAOSwcQNfLsTS Now I'm not very experienced with VR at all so feel free to call me an idiot in the comments below if i am saying completely the wrong stuff. This is just what i understand at the moment: For VR you need obviously a PC, a Headset, Controllers and these sought of camera things that get your location? So how many of the camera things do i need for good tracking? (Sorry for the long post!) So these are all my questions: Will my PC run VR decently demanding VR games? 2. Should i buy secondhand, if so what am i checking for to make sure the unit is fine? 3. What headset do you recommend to buy secondhand? 4. What are the advantages of a "new" Rift s over older models? (I don't mind saving longer for a new one be honest!) 5. How much space in my room do i need for the vast majority of games? 6. Does VR have a good game library, is it worth it? (I don't mind different genres except for really scary horror) 7. Is there going to be a new rift soon, Should i wait a couple of months for the newer model? 8. What is the average VR game price? 9. What extra things do i need to get up and running? (camera's, controllers?) (A new Rift s comes with controllers but what about the camera things) In England, I will be having examinations at around the late spring next year so i won't be able to use it much before then so i really don't mind waiting until summer 2021 will a new model be out by then? Again I don't know how frequently they come out so maybe a new one will be out by then? Finally, if anyone replies to this, I would like to say a massive thank you to you as I am clearly incompetent and really need help in my understanding of this product category. This is my first time on the forum so if I have done ANYTHING wrong do not hesitate to tell me off! Many thanks once again, Ollie

Hello I am starting my bachelor's degree in physics and technology next week, and I'm looking for a laptop to replace my aging Surface Pro 4. I've been looking at the Surface Laptop 2 and the Surface Laptop 3, but I can't decide which one to go for. I've found a refurbished Laptop 2 for $1050, and I can get a Laptop 3, in the colorway I actually really want, for $1300. Both is the same spec: i5, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD. Is it worth going for the Laptop 3. Does it really perform that mich better as Microsoft says IT does? (Bear in mind, I live in Denmark, so prices are significantly higher than the US)

Hi everyone, I’m planning on a Gaming Vm with nas server on one machine, but I’m thinking if I should buy a second hand x79 system with an i73930k or go for a ryzen 5 2600 system brand new. The price on both side would be similar due to items like ram being overpriced on the Ryzen side. I want to know on performance side of thing and general opinion on what I should choose.. thanks guys

Hi! I've been meaning to build a PC for quite some time, mainly because the majority of the software I'm using for my classes requires Windows and decent specs (I have a MacBook Pro with 128GB SSD as a daily driver and I can't install Windows on it because there isn't enough space) As an undergrad student with a limited budget, buying new didn't seem like a great option, and thanks to a Reddit post about off-server Xeons last year, I decided to go for an E5-2660. Choosing a motherboard took some time, as I had my doubts about generic eBay X79 motherboards, however, after reading some reviews and some posts, I went for the board from the seller with the best reputation. If anyone has any questions about this board/CPU&MoBo combo, I'll be glad to answer. As I'm not an avid gamer, I went for the cheapest decent graphics card that I found on Kijiji: Sapphire HD7850. It's not a great graphics card, but it lets me have my occasional CoD sessions when I take a break from video editing or coding. So here's my build: CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2660 2.2Ghz (Sandy Bridge) [Bought mine for 71CA$, shipping&import charges included] Motherboard: Generic X79, Non-ECC/ECC RAM support, USB3 ATX [I bought mine from eBay for 123.95CA$ all included, the one I linked isn't exactly the one I have.] HDD: WD Blue 1TB 7200rpm [I bought this with the Case and PSU, considering buying a SSD very soon] Graphics Card: Sapphire Dual X HD7850 2GB [Bought this for 40CA$ from someone that built a new rig and selling his old hardware] RAM: 2x4GB Hynix ECC 10600 RAM [30CA$ on eBay, planning on getting another 2x4GB ECC] Case, PSU: Thermaltake VL84521W2U V3 [Comes with a 450W PSU, nothing special about it. Bought the case, PSU, HDD and a DVD burner from someone who's leaving Canada for 30$ -- I wasn't sure about whether a 450W PSU would be enough for the system, but I haven't had any problems even after numerous stress tests] CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4 [posted as 'new' on kijiji, bought for 15$] Total: 309.95CA$, around 240US$ I bought everything except the motherboard, CPU and RAM on the same day, which made me feel like I was in Scrapyard Wars, except I don't have a car and I had to take 3 different metro lines and numerous buses I know that this is not an amazing PC, but considering what I paid for it, it's not half bad. And I know it's risky to buy a bunch of second hand (or no name) hardware and hope it works. The motherboard is overclock-capable as far as I know, however, I'm not planning on doing it in the near future and I'm already getting what I need from the system. I'm also really happy about the thermals, even under full load for 2 hours the CPU doesn't exceed 45 degrees C and GPU hovers around 55-60 degrees C Photos! (I've done some cable management, it doesn't look this bad anymore)

So I posted this in Discord, but thought I'd also reach out here to get some thoughts. With Bitmain announcing their Ethereum ASIC, I've noticed an uptick in the amount of GPUs being sold secondhand on Ebay, Craigslist, and FB Marketplace (not a huge one, but I check the listings almost daily looking for a good deal). Usually, the GPUs used for mining are the ones that are being sold cheapest, usually at or slightly below MSRP (a sad statement in and of itself), which brings me to my question. What are the dangers of buying a GPU that was used for mining? Having checked the Google, I found a couple of articles that pointed to the main point of wear being in the cooling apparatus--typically the fans, but also in the thermal compound connecting the chips to the heatsink. While cooling is definitely something to consider (especially in the Mini ITX case this is planned for), aftermarket GPU cooling solutions do exist, and if needed, I could just replace the VGA cooler. Is that the only concern that comes with the type of use that mining sees? If a GPU is constantly run at 100% for an extended period, what sorts of wear and tear will show up? Is there anything that can't be repaired with either an aftermarket VGA cooler or a soldering iron and a trip to the hobby electronics store?

Hello all, I'm going to inspect a second-hand PC with the intention of buying. I will be able to demo it before any such purchase, so I'm curious what particular codes I should look for on the hardware, and what stress tests I can subject it to (I'll elaborate below)? The PC contains: An Intel i7 5930K CPU, ASUS X99 Deluxe motherboard, Corsair 2 x 8GB 3000MHz DDR4 RAM, Samsung 256GB SSD, Corsair HX1000i Platinum PSU, and 2x (crossfire) VEGA 64 GPUs modded with EK FC water cooling system. The CPU is also cooled with via the same water cooling system. (see picture below). The overall price is ~ $1960 USD (so quite good). Firstly, I'd like to say I have no experience with water cooling systems, so I'm concerned that it may have at one stage run dry or leaked, how can I test this? Secondly, I'm wary of scams and am curious is there any way to physically see specific codes on the hardware (particularly the VEGA 64 GPUs) that are not covered by the water cooling system? Of course, I will also look at the system information via the operating system to evaluate the exact hardware, but am concerned if the current owned has somehow changed this (thus want to see physical codes). Finally, what stress tests can and should I perform? Is there anything I can run off a USB? Kind regards, Ignition. P.S Please add any other things I should place on my checklist before purchase.

Gday folks! I was wondering how much I would get for a corsair 400r case that has no scratches at all or any other physical damage. The only thing that is broken is one of the thumbscrews on the back side panel does not screw in anymore. This is in Australia and will be pickup only. So how much ould I get? Thanks! Edit: I bought it the beginning of last year for $120 AUSTRALIAN.
