Hello, Guys first time posting here. So the thing is I have an HP Pavilion gaming 15-ec2xxx. Click here for the HP official spec sheet. So I wanted to use an external 1080p monitor as I edit on this laptop and this laptop doesn't have a color-accurate display. Now I wanted to use a single wire for everything Ethernet, USB devices, and Display. Now the USB here is a simple 3.0 USB and doesn't support alt mode on it. Researching on whether could I force output display through USB I found this device which could be used to power extra display through USB. Now the main question is are these devices any good, do they use CPU, and do my machine performance reduce after using this device? As I do editing every single bit of performance is much appreciated.

Hello! I have a problem, when I record on Obs my game has little fps drops which are pretty noticeable. I play on my primary monitor which is 165hz and the obs itself is recording the primary monitor but on my second monitor, which is 60hz. In every game, the fps drops occur. And when I hit stop recording then lags wanish. The file is here: https://obsproject.com/logs/ 9IpVaMzTJTAOACeW Please help me! I have suitable hardware too, TX 3070 ti. Ryzen 5 5600x with 16gb 3200mhz ram.

Not sure if this is the right place to post but, I have an old VGA monitor that I'm trying to use as a second display (as extended display) for a relatively new laptop via an HDMI to VGA adapter. Initially it would display the second desktop shifted to one side then after talking to Microsoft and messing around with resolution and scaling in Windows the best I could get it to display was a desktop that is cut off around the edges and does not show the task bar. Just to see what would happen I changed the orientation to landscape flipped in the settings and it displays everything correctly! But then goes back to being cut off when going back to normal landscape. Why is this happening?? Has anyone else had this happen??? Is there a way to make it show the full desktop in normal orientation? (I have updated the drivers as part of the troubleshooting process and there is no overscan option on the monitor )

What's happening is that the taskbar on my second monitor doesn't consistently display the application buttons for windows open on that monitor. I say "consistently" because it works sometimes, and it seems to work for some applications. If I'm encountering the problem and I open a new window of, say, Chrome, the new one displays correctly, showing the application button on the correct taskbar as I drag it back and forth. The old instance stays on the primary monitor's taskbar regardless of where I drag the window. It feels like Windows is incorrectly detecting which monitor the window is actually open on. In typing this out I'm realizing that I'm primarily encountering this problem with Chrome, so maybe it's a Chrome bug? Things I have tried: Checked Windows taskbar settings. Currently set to: "Never combine taskbar buttons" show taskbar on all displays show taskbar buttons on "taskbar where window is open" combine buttons on other taskbars "never" - Toggling the show taskbar buttons where window is open immediately works correctly on the other settings (e.g. show buttons on all taskbars makes them instantly pop up on both monitors) but when toggled back to "where window is open" they only display on the primary monitor, not the secondary where the window is actually open. Forcing a reset of Windows Explorer via the Task Manager. Has worked at times, but not consistently. Tried DisplayFusion multi-monitor taskbar. Having similar issues there. I have tried it both with and without the Windows taskbar enabled at the same time. I've been trying to google for answers, but searching for anything related to "taskbars" and "windows" and "monitors" mostly turns up a bunch of stuff about how to get a taskbar on your second monitor in Windows that doesn't address my problem.

I was doing a Power Point presentation for class on Zoom, using only 1 screen. I plug in my second screen after the presentation is done, it is working fine. I exit out of Power Point. Suddenly screen flickers and now I can't use my second monitor. Either monitor works fine as my main monitor, but my computer cannot use both simultaneously anymore. Any idea what happened?

Here's my issue: I play csgo on a 144hz monitor, it's connected to my gpu (RTX 2070) with a display cable. I get around 200-350 fps. I tried connecting a 24 inch tv with hdmi to my computer to use as second monitor while streaming. And for some reason when I have the tv connected, my fps in game seems low. When when I say that it "seems low" it's because it still says I have the same fps i always do, but it looks like 40 fps. please help.

I'm planning on using my laptop as a second monitor for my PC, my question is: does the laptop still use its own GPU, CPU, and other parts when I use it as a second monitor? For now, I'm using mouse without borders (via ethernet cables) but I'm planning on connecting the laptop to my PC's GPU (via HDMI cable). If it doesn't end up using its own GPU, CPU, etc., then I suppose I'll just stick to Mouse Without Borders, and even though my PC's specs is leagues better than it, it still feels like a waste not using its 1650ti and other parts.

Hey everyone! So I am looking for an effective monitor that will have good color-accuracy, while not necessarily breaking the bank. It doesn't need a stellar refresh rate, since I will not be using it for gaming. I mainly edit photos, do some video work and do a lot of online research, so the main specialization I would need, again, is that nice color accuracy and image quality. Ultra-wide monitors would be welcomed, but regular monitors would be nice too! Any suggestions?

Hello! I just built a brand new PC with what, for me, feel like awesome performance. The parts are: Ryzen 7 3700x 32GB 3200Mhz RTX 2070 Super Corsair 850w PSU I have to monitors; my main monitor is a Dell 1440p 144Hz G-Sync display and my secondary one is an old LG 1080p, 60HZ. I've been having trouble with stuttering and lag when a video is playing on the second monitor during on the second monitor while gaming. I've observed the fps counter in games while this is happening, but couldn't see a difference. I tried tuning off hardware acceleration in chrome, but it didn't help. It sometimes breaks the video playback as well requiring me to quit the game for the video playback to stop lagging (it wasn't usable sadly) Any ideas how to solve this? I can't even have OBS running on the second monitor without lagging. It still works if I minimize it, but then I can't see the preview and audio levels to check them. I can't watch twitch streams or YouTube while playing and it bumming me out! Thanks in advance!

Hey Guys, I have a little problem with csgo. Whenever I play it normal it is smooth af. (~380fps and 144hz monitor). (I play 1080p, fullscreen window). But when I open a video on the second screen, csgo looks like it is running at 60hz. I still got over 350fps but it isn`t smooth at all. I tried with Google Chrome, Edge and Mozilla. Different brwoser, same result. Somebody got an idea why that is? edit: Specs: i7 4790k(4.4Ghz), GTX 1060 Asus 6GB (2135mhz), 8GB DDR3 Ram 1866Mhz

Hi, I have 40" TV (1920x1080) as my main monitor and I want to add another one for work purposes but a lot smaller (22" 1920x1080) so they can fit physically. But can I run games on both of them at the same time, anyone tried this yet? Physically they will be the same but what about resolution, I'm not sure it'll scale well if it will scale at all. Maybe there are some programs for it to work? I don't want to see my second screen blank or turned off every time I'm gaming.

This a build log thing of my progress so far in my auxiliary monitor project called by me as: "Project ghetto Valkyrie." As a prelude I'm going to mention that this is not my first monitor related mod thing... I once made a adjustable stand for a monitor using my drafting lamp and some 3d printing. -2016 The whole thing began with Linus' CES2016 coverage of the Project Valerie, when I heard it as "Valkyrie" instead of "Valerie" and it kinda stuck with me. And the proceeding DIY solution video. I been playing with the Idea in my head of making my own with my Dell Inspiron -2017, early Feburary? I started doing sketches on my schematics notebook on the core mechanism I will use and some crude assembly drawings. -2017, May (probably.) Only significant progress I made in until this point is a revision on the Elbow hinge... ehh too lazy to scan It and it was pretty minor in the scheme of things... It was Finals period at my semester at this time. Normally, I put it on hold for a while. - June-ish Salvaged the lcd screen from my old Lenovo ideapad S100 then verified if it still works... It does not. Then extracted screens from my sisters' netbooks and both of them are in surprisingly good condition. I chose the lcd from the older of the two netbooks because the newer one could still be fixed so I reassembled the newer netbook and store it for later. After finding a suitable screen I started to search ebay for a lcd controller board. And automatically picked the cheaper one. because yeah. Now the wait begins - mid August I never bothered to make a model of the initial schematics because I needed the board dimensions to do anything useful, though I made a somewhat accurate model of the laptop screen, which involved me holding my laptop against my a desktop scanner to get some accurate pictures before realizing duhhh.... amazon product pictures.... The controller board was suppose to arrive a month ago at the latest checked the tracking and it said "In Transit". I contacted the seller for a refund or a re-shipment, they chose the latter. We reached an agreement. Now the wait begins (again). - September Pretty much given up on the project at this point, it seems the second order is also a bust. So I cut my losses and move on with other stuff. - early October (to be fair guys this was my first time buying something in ebay, or shipping and postal service in general) It turns out the second shipment did arrive... a month earlier. yeah.... to quote a great per5-0n: "my b". (please someone get that reference). Evaluated my design from may-ish... that sh*t is way too complicated and hard to manufacture, a redesign is in order. With a caliper and the driver board in hand I started to model. ditched the sliding/retraction mechanism like in the original Project Valkyrie mostly due to space constraint for a slot in mechanism, Ala joycons (stupid name. ) slotting in the Nintendo Switch kinda deal. And an elbow joint for viewing angle adjustments. (I have animations for both joints but can't seem to upload gifs there (not sure if it supports it at all)). Printed it at the weekend of Oct. 7-8 (no pictures sadly) and were now at the present. - Moving forward Need to design around the lcd controller board and its case. It does not fit like in my design... haven't given much free space between the bare lcd and the bottom of the controller case it seems. Redesign the part that connects to my laptop, even with duck tape and expensive (for me) 3m? m3? double sided tape I now regret buying... And for the fact; I absolutely don't want to superglue or screw mount it I want this to be reversible in the case when I have the need to remove it. Make the buttons more accessible. Find someway to power it using a powerbank or something... Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed. -Andy

So I recently got myself a 2080, I'm running a TV through displayport to hdmi and a monitor through displayport to dvi. The issue is that everytime I reboot the system, windows "forgets" my TV monitor. When I disconnect the dvi one, windows still attempts to post to the dvi, the bios shows up on the TV though. Sometimes, just swapping the cables' port fixes it, other times I have to reboot several times over, cutting power multiple times before it finally detects. I have the latest drivers installed, deleted and reinstalled them once from Geforce experience, once through device manager and their website, the issue still persists. Even after rebooting with the 2080 driver uninstalled, the pc didn't recognize the TV. I noticed that I have another driver installed, for onboard graphics I presume (Intel UHD Graphics 630), but I'm somewhat reluctant to just uninstall that. Any ideas on how to solve this? It's frustrating to spend several minutes just to get the display to work, and it's not a hardware issue, so I don't want to replace my TV monitor. Thank you for your time!

Hello, I have an old monitor that i use as second display but it only has vga and my laptop only has hdmi. So u bought an hdmi to vga converter, When I use is with my laptop for school it works perfectly fine. But when I use is with my gaming laptop (Has an gtx 1050) It doesn't work. the screens is not being detected. I got it detected once but then both the screens (from my laptop and the second display) stayed black. Tried updating the nvidia drivers but is does nothing. What could i do to make this work?

Si I'm trying to run a two monitor setup, but Windows can't detect the second monitor. Whichever monitor is displaying the pc, the other cannot be detected through the settings. I've tried updating drivers (through device manager and AMD Radeon settings), rolling back drivers, different cables. I have two rx 570s running in crossfire, so I disabled crossfire and the second monitor still wouldn't be detected, I removed the second 570 and the second is still not being detected. I have no idea what to do. I still have a gtx 1050 ti sitting in a box I may try using DDU and putting that in to diagnose, but I rather not swap out my rx 570s with a gtx 1050 ti. Specs: Ryzen 7 1700X 16 GB Trident Z RX 570s in Crossfire Booting off a Samsung 860 WIndows 10 Pro 1809 AMD Radeon Settings 19.9.2

I saw an ad for the SideTrack before one your videos and it seems like a good idea. It is a second monitor for your laptop. It connects to the back of your laptop with magnets and slides out on rails when you need a second monitor screen. The only cord that is needed is a USB cable. The screen is 12.5" with 1920x1080 resolution. It works with Windows, Mac and Chrome. It seems pretty interesting
