So, i hava a 2 GB kingston SDHC card from my hunting/game camera and all of a sudden there are several weird folders and files on the card. Folder names: ┤¢û±▌Ç<.Ü╒ C±Ç▒cl╚.ne n«"K└\.fÇ& File: ùOì¼öû!ü.á█ 700mb I cannot open, rename, move, or copy them. If i try to modfiy them windows will say that the file ordirectory is invalid. Recently I've found myself in a bit of a conundrum. I have several raspberry Pi's and Odroids that have or will be running home assistant. The consensus in the community is to use a dongle and a SSD through I do not like the fragility of this bulk nor do I trust the "small capacity" >128gb ssds out there. However there are brands like SanDisk and Samsung making high endurance SD cards rated for 120,000 hours of operation. I am currently using a Samsung pro endurance 128gb SD card and it has outlived any other SD card I have ever bought. It is still chucking along in good health. My issue is the lack of reviews and test done on these cards as IOPs are a huge deal with home assistant. Home assistants database writes out every device/entity event. Almost all SD cards bite the dust because of this operation. What is the communities experience with these high/pro/max endurance SD cards from Samsung and SanDisk. What would be optimal to deploy home assistant? Would love to see a tech tips video on SD cards and the specific applications. Should I be using a A2 SD card? A high endurance SD card? A SD card that has the most IOPs?

So I have an ONN 8" tablet running Android 9 which was cheap and over all meets the important but limited needs I have for it, But it has one very annoying quirk.. I use an SD card set as portable storage and anytime I move image files to it they become unreadable until I fully shutdown and restart the tablet (just rebooting doesn't work).. I already tested 3 different and known good SD cards so it's not a bad card, And tried both the default as well as some 3rd party file manager apps so I don't think it's a app bug so I am out of idea's on what I might be able to do to fix it -
Does anyone have the file for the sd card holders from Linus's "Cardboard". It was shown in Justine's tour of their office. I would like to print some but I can find them. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

Just set up a raspberry pi NAS, and was wondering if using the 128gb SD card i have as storage for media will be okay until i get a proper drive in a month or two. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

It's really difficult to discern between the best SDcard reader in the world and one that will fall apart in five days. Are there any recommended? I have large amounts of flash storage that I use SD cards for, mostly with pictures on them.

I am looking for a microSD card and found this SD card with 512 GB class 10, but I noticed it's price is so much lower than any equivalent in brands such as sandisc or Samsung Here is the listing https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08GR36K87/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_czAHFbSP0P69T When checking prices to similar microSD cards, this card is way cheaper. I tried to Google the brand but did not get much useful information. I checked with Amazon and they say their products are authorised and it all seems good. It's reviews are good but again, there is no guarantee that this is not a scam. So I wonder. Has anyone here heard about this brand or maybe even tested this microSD card? What is your advice should I buy this or avoid it? I would prefere to avoid a return due to inconvenience with working hours Vs post office opening hours. Cheers.

Well, I'm looking for a phone not for right now, but idnk in like a year I want some specific features on my phone which I found mostly in this 2 phones if you find another one with the same I would appreciate it if you would send me. XPERIA 5 ll and ZENFONE 7 PRO were the closest to my needs after months of searching, but still not sure if they are really good enough for the price I say this because the Xperia has literally all I need but its a oled idnk if the screen still burns if kept on the same image for a really long time like movies with a logo or something and I'm not sure about the camera setup its triple 12mp it is sony but I really would like another opinion. Hey everyone I need some help, just the other day my sister in law's SD card in her phone crapped out and she has lost all of her pictures from the last five months. She's a very sentimental person and it would mean a lot to her if we could somehow recover the pictures. When it gets plugged into a computer it asks to be formatted, we haven't formatted the card to make sure we don't permanently delete her photos. But I need recommendations on softwares to use to try and recover her data. Much thanks -Jayce

Hi there, my panasonic lumix camera has recently started to give up on me, first it was that whenever I connected the camera to my laptop the laptop would only recognise the internal memory on the card rather than the sd card, now when I turned on the camera, it said the sd card was locked even though I havent touched the sd card for a month, I have checked for the lock slider and that was on the unlock place and when I inserted the sd card back in again, it still said: ''SD Card locked''. Any Ideas on how to get my camera to recognise the sd card? -
so i recently bought a chromebook not for gaming or anything just as a travel laptop movies my books ect just stuff like that, however it only has 16 gb of storage. now i dont know how much id really need seeing as it wont have games on it so i was curious should i got with an external hard drive? or an SDXC card?

Hey So i have got my hands on a FIT-PC2i http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fit-PC_Product_Line:_fit-PC2/2i I need it for a small program i have made in .Net. And now to the fun part, i wont to run the OS from a mini sd card, so i can remove the HDD and save some power. And you can see here: http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fit-PC2i_BIOS_ROM_Files Change log Added SD boot Added SDHC support Added PCIe boot support So it looks like it will work, but do i try to boot from the SD card it starts to boot, and i can see the windows loading screen on startup. then the screen goes black and it restart. Maybe because i cloned the OS to the SD i think, but not sure. Do i try to install windows from new, i can't see the SD card to install the OS on, And all driver don't seems to work so i can see the SD card and install on it. I have tried XP / 7 / 2003 / 2008 all in 32bit (the pc don't support 64bit os) Have anyone tried to install OS on a SD card before? Some weird way to do it? Or something else i'm missing? The hole point is to save some watts. The HDD use close to half of the watt in the pc. And the pc needs to run 24/7/365 Hope some have any ideas on what i can try

So I recently bought an Emtec micro SD card, which came with an SD adapter. Upon unboxing the card and plugging it into my desktop's SD card reader on the front panel, nothing happened. Fearing the card was a dud, I plugged it into my laptop, where it worked perfectly. So I went online, absolutely no help whatsoever. Then I remembered that I had a Sony multi-card reader that I use to get pictures off my camera's CF cards which also had an SD card reader slot on it. Plugged the Sony reader into my laptop and the SD card into, no problems. Then upon trying the Sony reader on my desktop, it worked... I tried again in the computer's native reader, but it still was not detected, no Windows beep, back into the Sony reader, perfect. WTF. Was waiting for help, but then I realized: I PLUGGED IT WRONG. I hate myself now, HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT, WTF. Anyways, I'm dumb, I don't need help

I have .WAV files of my In Utero discs, and they show all of the metadata with the track number, the artist, the album, etc. When I put them on my SD card for my Galaxy S5, it no longer shows that information. If I take one of those files and copy it back to my computer, the information is back again. What is the issue? Is it because the card is formatted in exFAT?

I'm on a quest to find the cheapest, and most impractical laptop for my back-to-college venture this next semester. So far, I came out quite lucky with a Dell Inspiron 6000 for $4, with a charger for another $8. The device didn't come with a hard drive (I'm guessing for security reasons on the seller's part), but as I'm sure many of you know, the laptop uses an IDE PATA interface. COULD go with a normal 40-60GB hard drive and call it a day; I'm only using the device for school work and maybe some YouTube streaming, but nothing beyond those use cases. I have a surplus of microSD cards lying about, and thought... Why not give those a shot, since the Inspiron I got came with a card reader? So far, I've hit a dead end. With a USB flash drive as the boot device into the Windows setup menu for Win10, I tried locating the SD card from the list the menu prompts you to chose from. The card wasn't there. I used Diskpart to quickly clean the drive, tried converting the card to GPT, creating a partition where the Media Creation Tool would boot, then using the remaining space as the disk where all the files would be offloaded and installed onto: I exhausted all of my methods. Does anyone know how I could use my microSD card as the Local Disk for Windows 10? I know, I know. SD cards are 8x's or sometimes 10x's slower than a mechanical hard drive, but if there's any way I could keep the costs as low as possible, that's what I'm mainly after. IDE HDDs that WOULD work come from China, and it'll take about 2 months to be shipped to my APO box. Any help would be great!

My SD card reader on my M23AD asus tower is not reading. All the other IO is working fully. So I need any suggestions as to what is the problem and how I can fix it. I am a photographer and need the photos uploaded tomorrow. This is very time sensitive. The windows operating version is windows 10 64 bit. Please, I need the help. Thanks

I made the stupid mistake of accidentally deleting some MTS files off of my Panasonic Camcorder SD Card, those were some important video files. For clarification, I deleted them CAM_SD\PRIVATE\AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM. I tried to use Recuva and other recover tools, but they replaced the file with the wrong video. Then when I put the SD card back in my Camcorder it says the videos are there but they can't be played. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, After a nice holiday in Italy this summer I wanted to put all the photos on my PC but when trying to open the SD card in explorer it forces me to format the card meaning that I will lose all the photos. Is there a way to cancel this force format or is there a way around it? Thanks in advance!

Hey everybody, I used an android program which allowed an sd card to act as internal memory. The tablet broke a few years ago but I was trying to format the sd card today but it doesn't work. It shows up as two volumes on my pc and in easeys partition manager I can't wipe nor remove the partitons. When I refresh they just return. I'm really at a loss...

i got an SD card in the mail a few days ago, its a 2GB card, today i formatted it in FAT32 with a cluster size of 16k, and now it does not come up in windows 10, it rarely comes up on my windows 7, when it does it wont let me format it again, it just crashes the file manager, and now when i try it at all it just will not come up. Anyway to fix this?
