Budget (including currency): $130 Country: Canada My Hp laptop (Probook 445 G8) I just got from eBay has an inferior 250 nit 45% sRGB screen 1080p (hp part no. M47408-001). I want to upgrade the screen with one that is compatible within the service manual. I want the 400 nit 100% sRGB 1080p screen (hp part no. M47409-001) found on page 9 of 90 in the service manual http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07012041.pdf Problem is I don’t know the model number that Samsung or LG or AOU or whoever assigned to this screen. The suppliers like laptopscreen.com and blisscomputers.com don’t have product specifications for the screens they carry other than resolution and whether it a 30 or 40 connector. I called them and they have model numbers only and only know if it is compatible. If I order I could get a worse screen than what I have since there are 9 screen variants. They need a model number if I want a screen that performs to my specs. I called HP multiple times and they don’t know and if they did they won’t tell me. They do sell the screen on hp.parts.com for $588 when I know that screen costs $100 elsewhere online. Does anyone have the model number for the the 400 nit 100% sRGB 1080p screen (hp part no. M47409-001)? It can be found on the back of that lcd panel in an HP Probook with that screen.

Budget (including currency): 25.000-30.000SEK (Around 2200-2600 Euro) Country: Sweden Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Playing Tibia 90% of the time, Start playing some Elden Ring and DS3 PvP again, perhaps try out some new AAA-games. Otherwise just casual surfing/youtube. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I got a ssd that I will take from my laptop 1000GB samsung pro 980. Currently on a gaming laptop with a 1060ti 3GB-Vram. Managed to play through Elden Ring on lowest settings, loads of frame drops and general low tier experience so looking to upgrade. I put this build together with Blackfriday offers on a swedish website Inet.se ( https://www.inet.se/kundvagn/visa/S4cfASYrKqKEQCpFpyrVWfUKGXM/grumpysblackfriday ) Aiming for 1440p 27" - The SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G5 S27CG510 27" QHD is on sale for 3200sek from: ( https://www.power.se/datorer/bildskarmar-och-monitorer/bildskarmar/samsung-odyssey-g5-s27cg510-27-qhd-gamingskarm/p-2574192/#specs ) Think I am missing a cooler for the CPU and case fans, a bit uncertain about the Odyssy G5 because there is so many different versions with slightly different names out there, but I like the design. Would love recommendations on cooler and fans or adjustments to the build! Adjustments that would make the build less power hungry when just watching youtube or playing less demanding games are also appreciated. Going a bit over the budget is ok but would like the keep the screen at around max 6000sek. (Currently have a Samsung SyncMaster SA950 27" 1080p 125hz that is 10+ years old but still works for 2nd screen) Thank you, G

Budget (including currency): ~900€ (for a 2 montor setup) Country: Austria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (mostly esport titles like csgo, overwatch, ect) and watching videos Other details Current PC has a i7-4790, GTX1080, 16GB Ram. Planning to build a new system in about 1-2 years. Hi everybody, I have a problem. In 2 months i will move to a bigger place to live, and for that i'm planning to upgrade from my trusty old friend the BenQ XL2420T (1080p120hz) to something less ancient. First i planned on getting a 1440p with 144hz (-or more) for gaming, a 4k60hz for watching videos and my old one as a third screen (Just because I can :D). But after some research i saw that a setup with mixed Hz seems to cause a lot of problems and is not advised. I don't know what the best solution might be for me, and so i came here to look for some advice on the best solution. Is there a way to make that setup work or do i have to live with the fact that all of them have to be "expensive" 144hz (-or more^^) monitors? I also appreciate any advice to "What resolution is a good choice for gaming" and "is more then 144hz worth it?"because I'm still not to sure about those things aswell. Greetings and thanks in advance English is not my first language. I hope everything makes sense :D

I have an Lenovo Legion Y540-15IRH with an NV156FHM-N48 monitor (as I can tell by MonInfo), but I'm thinking about changing it to an NV156FHM-NY1 or NV156FHM-NY4, they have the same size (except by the depth) and both works with 30 pins, but the Panel Power consumption and input current are higher in the last two models. Is it safe to change from one to another? I've uploaded an image with the important differences listed in PaneLook

I'm aiming to build my own tablet from an old-ish laptop (3 years), I will be completely taking apart the assembly and reconstructing it in a new case which will be 3D printed of appropriate plastic then finished. The only issue with this is the screen.. It's a low pixel density 1366x768 non ips monstrosity that I would not like to transfer over but I lack understanding. I'm hoping somebody can inform me if laptop mobos themselves have built in functionality meaning it will reject anything it's not comfortable with or if this is left to the attached circuit board and I could simply plug a new 30pin into it? I was once told that 30 pins are kin to hdmi cables? Is this true? Have you had experience changing or upgrading screens? Built your own tablet and want to showoff / give me advise? Let the information come forward. Cheers

I have had a Samsung Note phone for sometime now and the one thing that bugs the hell out of me is the curved screen when taking notes, how many times I start writing and I go over the curved part of the screen and lose text. I have noticed that the usable part of the note taking screen is 65mm which leaves 10mm of totally useless screen space, 10mm that's a lot of space when taking notes on a phone. Hoping for a flat Samsung Note phone in the future. Francis

Dell XPS 9370/9380 4K Frankenstein'ed Screens
Simsyy posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
The Dell XPS 13 9370 and 9380 are incredibly similar laptops, primarily with the 9370's "up your nose" webcam being moved to the top in the refresh. I needed to replace my shattered screen on my 9370, but the eBay parts seller "accidentally" sold me a 1080p screen while advertising the 4k model. I found this out after finishing installing it. =( This got me wondering after a long zoom call last night where my friends inspected my individual nose hairs. Is it possible to attach a 9380's screen with the webcam up top, to the base of a 9370? Is there anything stopping me from creating my own Dr. Frankenstein's monster of a Dell XPS 9380's screen on to my 9370 base? I was taking a look at the iFixit guides here for the 9380, and the cable positioning, connectors, and hinge mounts are incredibly similar to the 9370's, but I haven't been able to find any concrete dimensions between the two models that would give me confidence to order the 9380's screen. While it would be a fun experiment, I don't necessarily want to be out 400 bucks just for shits and giggles. Is anyone able to help me find proper engineering dimensions that would either prove or disprove this crazy idea? Additionally, does anyone else have a 9380 that is willing to crack it open and take some dimensional measurements and pictures for me? Cheers, Simsyy -
This is a thing that concerns me, and a choice that all we should consider when buying a new screen, specially for laptops. What is your choice, do you prefer glossy or matte (anti reflective) displays?

Hello! I was using Vysor to control my phone from my laptop to watch GoT. It turns out that if you unplug your device without doing the whole "undocking" (didnt know what to call it) procedure, the dpi you set in Vysor is applied to your phone. This now means my phone has a dpi equivalent of that to a tablet, so much that my Sky Q TV app says "download TV to tablet". Even worse, I can barely use my phone everything's so small and I cant access settings (crashes) to turn back on usb debugging??? Halp?

Hello, an average consumer here. I have a HP Pavilion 14 B124US and it has a shattered screen. I was trying to find the exact model screen and it was only available in the USA for 90 dollars. I then looked on Ebay, hoping for some cheaper screens. I did find some HP Pavilion 14 screens although they were a different model. Will this screen work?: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/14-0-LED-Laptop-Screen-For-HP-Pavilion-14-B178SA-Sleekbook-Without-Touch-/151264260498?hash=item23380d7192:g:1KQAAOSwyrFZOmjz

We just got two of these LG monitors in the office. They're both plugged to PCs that have the same exact parts and run the same exact OS/drivers/software. The issue is that on my PC the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds every hour or so. It doesn't matter if the PC runs video rendering or notepad. Windows 10- keeps recognizing it as the other screen that is plugged works just fine and the layout of the screens doesn't change. Sometimes it flickers on and off once, sometimes two or three. The other issue is that it looks like it's not refreshing fast enough. Even opening a chrome tab showes the animation getting choppy. Same with browsing the timeline in Premiere Pro. We switched the monitors around, displayport cables, power cables, power strips, made sure we both have the same drivers and both defaulted our BIOS. I've changed the displayport ports on my PC and it didn't change at all. Still, on my PC the issue remains while the other PC never had it. So far I've read that it might be an issue with dwm.exe but if I close the process, the other screen goes blank too - something that's not the case with the actual issue. Also the logs don't show it crashing when the monitors goes blank. We're both running the LG screen in 4k and the other screen in 1080p and both of these run off of DisplayPort. There were no issues on the previous 1080p screens. Hi I recently cracked my iPhone 6s’ screen and would like to buy a screen replacement. I’ve been looking at screen replacements online and I’ve decided to replace it myself. I don’t really know what makes a good screen replacement. Can somebody help me pick out a solid screen replacement for under $30? Thanks!

Hey! I have 3 identical looking screens from 2 differend brands in my setup currently. They look completeley the same (exept the logo obviously) but their stands are 3 different ones. For aesthetic reasons i want to buy 3 identical stands (wich probably woul attach via vesa?). But i can only find wall/table mounts or dull cluncky looking vesa stands. I would need a good looking one and dont want to attach the monitors to the wall. Any sugestions?

Hello. Fairly simple question. I am wanting to and another monitor to my gaming setup. i currently have two 24 inch monitors in landscape that I would like to keep in landscape. I am just wanting to add a 30 inch monitor under them. (meaning the 30 inch one would be at my eye level and the smaller ones above that.) My question is what is the best stand to make this happen? Do I have to get multiple stands or do they make a combo one that would work? Attached is a photo of what I mean. So the large one under the 2 smaller ones. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I’m visiting Minsk at the moment (Belarus), and the weather here often drops below 10 degrees C below zero, in such cold, my iPhone XR lcd starts freaking out, and becomes pretty much unusable due to ghosting (worse than E-ink displays, there’s a good 2 seconds of response time). I was wondering if such behavior is normal, and wether I should go and replace the phone under warranty. I wasn’t getting such problem with my previous phone (S8 with OLED).

I recently built my new computer and want to upgrade to a 144hz monitor. I currently have a 1080p 60hz Dell and was looking to get a 1440p as an upgrade. I would like it to be 27" but i am willing to go to 24" if it would improve output significantly. I will mainly be using it for gaming but I do also dabble in some graphic design(but would prioritize gaming performance over any color correctness). My budget is around $500 (I dont live in America so I dont know the exact amount when converted) . I know alot about computers but little to nothing about monitors and displays so any advice would be well appreciated. I also might dual monitor later on so I dont know if that affects the range of choice avaliable to me. Thanks

I am currently running 5 screens on a dual GTX 1080 system, but one of the screens is not on because of the GPU max screen support limit. I have searched around a bit and tried to find a solution to this problem, but no luck. I do however have a few solutions that might work. 1. Using a third GPU outside of the case. However this would not be practical. 2. Using an external graphics adapter, like this one: https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1007771/startech-com-usb-3-0-to-dvi?gclid=CjwKCAjw9-HZBRAwEiwAGw0QcTCfh8HBHTT-ZQAtbeqCyC27vwaAg0SsVIf2m-MPt0TLB3IEjhiNgxoC1vcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#specsarea The second option seems the most attractive solution for me, but I am not sure that it will work. Does it render the screen separately or does it count as a screen for the GPU. I am not concerned with the resolution, as i will just be using the fifth screen for media. If you suggest other hardware please find a link to something in Denmark, Sweeden, Norway, Germany or UK, because of tax policies in Denmark Computer Specs: GTX 1080 x2(SLI) Ryzen 1700x 64GB corsair ram MSI x370 gaming pro (Not carbon) Plenty of storage Thanks in advance

I run 5 monitors, 3 wide screens on the botom and 2 3x4 on top. I used to have 2 gpu's in my system, 1 R9 290x for my 3 main displays, and a separate nvidia GT210 for my 2 screens on top. This worked fine but linux doesnt really like mixed GPU's so I switched my GT210 out for a HD6670. Amd + Amd seems like it should be easier, and under linux it is, but my windows doesn't like it. Because the most recent AMD driver for my 290x doesn't support the HD6670. So I can run everything on an old catalyst driver from 2015, but I'd rather not. But I cant get the 2015 driver to work for my HD6670 without it also changing it for my 290x. Does any of you have experience with running multiple AMD drivers for different cards?

Please read first, this is not a troll. I use lg23mp68vq for a while now because i heard in lots of reviews that it's very good so i bought it, and i noticed that the color is not as good as i expected but i let that slide. However, when I start comparing it to my phone, tv or even school computer's monitor, the color of this monitor looks very dull in comparison to those. Is there anything wrong with my monitor?
