Hey should I just gamble and just buy a replacement CPU already? Around November 2023 i updated my windows 11 gaming computer to the latest windows feature update (and updated some drivers) and when it restarted it blue screened and has been ill ever since. Every time i turn on the computer (and enter any OS) it will completely freeze up within 1-3 minutes. It just freezes what's on screen, the caps-lock button does nothing, and it refuses to do anything until forced off. It crashes in windows 11 pro, when installing windows on a fresh ssd (with no other drives connected), when initialising WindowsToGo (thanks to Rufus), and in ubuntu installer. What baffles me is that it doesn't crash in windows safe mode. If it's my CPU that's faulty does it behave so differently in safe mode as to not be symptomatic there? It does not blue screen, and no logs are created from the crash as far as i can tell. I can open windows reliability monitor in recovery mode and no logs are present for the time stamp the computer froze up at. The 2 pieces of hardware that i haven't been able to test are the PSU and CPU. Does my problem sound like either of them are to blame? I have attempted: MB Replacing with different model of MB (MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI) - now returned Updating BIOS to the latest one Resetting BIOS to default values Various BIOS changes (like undoing the RAM XMP profile) Storage Different M.2 drive M.2 in USB enclose Various USB drives (with various different Windows and Ubuntu installers of various vintages) Putting the various storage devices in different slots Ran SSD tester from BIOS without any errors found RAM Using each stick individually by themself Each stick in different slots in 2 separate MBs They passed the windows RAM tester They passed several hours of MemTest86 without any errors Windows Not connecting Razer devices (Huntsmen and basilisk) Removing most recent drivers GPU Problem does not change with the GPU installed or not The computer was constructed from new parts during February 2023. PC Specs: Intel Core i5-13600K 3.5 GHz (has onboard graphics) MSI PRO Z790-A WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard Kingston FURY Beast 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL40 Memory (the versions that plays nice with intel XMP) Crucial P5 Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (Main boot drive) Sabrent Rocket 512 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (Secondary drive to help debug) Corsair RM750x (2021) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case MSI 3060TI 3X 8G OC LHR A bunch of Noctua fans Additional information: Sometimes when getting into recovery options it kinda crashes and pressing any valid button just refreshes screen with bad screen tearing I have dismantled and reassembled everything on 4 separate occasions, there are no loose cables and the cpu does not have any pins to inspect I've also tried disabling network adapters from the BIOS amongst other BIOS changes The BIOS environment is stable I spoke to a computer technician at a shop and he was baffled by the problem i had, he recommended trying another compatible CPU (intel 12/13/14) and posting for help on this forum Have tried booting with only display connected Not possible: It does not appear to be possible to reset windows from recovery Or repair windows from recovery Or roll back windows updates Not tried: Replacing current 13600K CPU Replacing the power supply Throwing computer out of window Does anyone have any idea what my problem is? I just want my computer fixed so i can continue playing BG3 with my friend. Do i just buy a new CPU and test that, and return it if it doesn’t fix my problem. I’m fed up of the number of hours I’ve spent trying to fix it without results. Thanks in advanced for your help Cheers.

im running a umix 21.04 setup with these specs. a single 16gb hyperxfury ram stick, and 310 pro series msi motherboard. i have a tp link wifi card in the system in front of the gpu. occasionally these freezes happen while in desktop, or in game. if in game music will play and it takes like 5 minutes to unfreeze maybe more. or only unfreeze with a pc reset. roughly 2 hours in if in game sometimes more or 1 hour and 30. a guess i dont time it. you can hear the game sounds when i do something but it doesnt move or movves slowly before hand. i know cpu cooling isn't the issue as i have a diffrent motherboard same specs pc with worse cooling and never get these freezes. i appologise in advance if this belonngs elsewhere rather than motherboards. my ssd is a 480 gb but i have a 4tb hard drive for some games. id someone has insight on how to stop these freezes thanks in advance. i use a 1080p monitor

Hi! Trying to make Windows recognize my second harddrive, as it does not show currently anywhere (except bios and hard-drive management- tool). So I went to Troubleshooting-->Harddrive and devices --> klicked "Next" and here everything stops after like 10 secs. The "process"-loadingbar starts moving, but then when it all of a sudden "freezes", everything else is also frozen. Not able to pull of any command. Both keyboard and mouse is not responding at the displayed image. I find the only option to press the re-start button on my case (Ctrl+Alt+Del/Ctrl+Shift+Esc not working). Any clues?

I've recently built a new Ryzen 7 2700 based Desktop with a Radeon RX580 GPU. Initially, my system was crashing constantly whenever I was trying to install Amd Adrenaline drivers for my GPU. Somehow this problem was solved and now whenever I boot up my pc, it crashes with a screen freeze after couple of minutes. Is this some kind of Power Supply problem ? What is the recommended PSU wattage for Ryzen 7 and RX 580 ? ....................................................................... Hi there so I recently got an MSI optix mag24c 144hz monitor. When I have it at 144hz i get these weird moments when the display freezes and the continues really slowly and then goes back to normal. I am running it with an extra monitor/tv (i switch between them). These other displays are running at 60/59hz respectively. Any idea what is going on or how to fix this. If I put my main display back to 60hz it is fine.

Not sure if this is the right place -new to the forum- but having a problem with my Asus PA 279q monitor. Have had it for about a year an 3 months now and it's always worked great with displayport. However, ever since I had it, it's always had a problem with my ps4 on HDMI. After a while of gaming the screen would suddenly have colored vertical lines and dots and dashes everywhere with patches of color. Much like when your old pc would freeze in a purple and green static noise mess. The difference here is that the screen won't "freeze" per se and I could still use the ps4 enough to shut down the console. However, pressing the button to turn the screen off does nothing at this point and neither does switching the input. The only thing that works is unplugging the monitor. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening?

I've been having this problem for a long time now. What happens is my screen freezes almost randomly sometimes. Or it freezes when I watch any video(MP4 works fine, I've had troubles with rmvb so far). Sometimes it happens when I watch YouTube videos. And now-a-days it happens when Battlefield 3 just startes to log-in in Battlelog. Surprisingly I had no trouble with either Battlefield 4 or Battlefield Hardline Beta. They work just fine, even tho my PC doesn't even meet minimum system requirements. This screen freeze started happening when I gave my motherboard for a repair for the second time I guess. I gave it for a repair due to the no display problem. Turns out there is a problem with the IC. Basically when the screen freezes. I can't move the mouse, nor there is moment on the screen and audio stops and the only way I can fix it is manually restart it. To make sure it was the problem with the motherboard, I tried running the video file test with on board graphics, did a stress test on the ram and also did an error check. Plus to make sure hard drive isn't the problem, I ran the video test on both internal SATA hard drive and an external USB 3.0 drive. And I believe, this isn't software(OS) related problem since I encountered this problem even on the bios boot screen. My Specs: Intel Dual Core E5200 @2.5GHz 2x2Gb ddr2 Ram AMD Radeon HD 6450 Sapphire version ASUS P5KMPL-AM Motherboard P.S. At first I thought it was the problem with the ram and I still do believe it is the problem with the ram. I tried switching the two ram sticks between the two given slots, and I found out that one of the slots might have a problem but I am not sure about it. I got this doubt on the motherboard because of the above results. Moreover the freeze is random so its hard for me to point out on one particular component. I wanna make sure the problem is with the part I am gonna replace.
