Howdy, I'm looking to setup a selfhosted navidrome streaming service for all my music. I'm looking to run it on a cheap low power sbc. Any suggestions? And I politely decline all recommendations to run it on a VPS

My thought on the specs: The BCM2712 CPU config definitely remind me of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and 821 SoC, I don't know if didn't using Big.LITTLE arch help ARM software dev on this device or not. Supporting AV1 Decode is should be nice, altrhough I believe broadcom develop the GPU arch back when AV1 specs is not even fully drafted yet. AC WiFi in 2023? I think it's ok if the dev is trying to save little bit money for the module, not a problem for me. Some YouTuber also mention the hardware will have custom "southbridge" Chip (or PCH), integrating Gigabit GMAC and USB controller as well for the GPIO controller, this is nice to see, rather than using 3rd party stuff like Via Labs USB 3.0 controller in the past (I still pretty sure that this southbridge chips is sourced from 3rd party design too, probably either broadcom, TI, VLI, or ASMedia). 5GBps USB3.0 and 1Gbe Ethernet in 2023? seriously? especially the Dev know many people will be using this as "cheap" and low power NAS or Poor man HPE cluster. the Inclusion of PCIe 2.0 x1 breakout channel via FPC connector: Having dedicated PCIe line on Standard Raspberry Pi form factor is nice (means no need to resort to buying Compute Module no more for PCIe ), but guys, seriously? PCIe 2.0 x1? I know this is the limitation of the SoC, but again, bruh. And in the end, the one million dollar question: "$60 MSRP" yeah buddy sure, just make sure you can supply ample amount of Pi's Honestly, if Pi 5 can live to it's promise, especially the price and availability, then sure, this is a definitely an improvement from Pi4, even trough I think this is should be called Pi 4+ not Pi 5 since it's only offer lackluster amount of improvement from it's predecessor. The flood of more powerful RockChip RK3588 and Intel N100 based SBC with much more features to offer is a tough spot for Pi 5, even though this product is supposed to be cheaper to the competition. I know about the vastly superior software support on Raspberry Pi community, but many other SBC maker is catching up, especially those with either RK3588 or RK3588S SoC onboard, and we definitely doesn't have the same problem with x86-64 based SBC. Just hope the best for the Pi Dev, and please live to the promised words. Let me know what you think about the new Pi down below!

I opened a device bluetooth option but i can't reach aac codec (crusher evo supports aac codec but i can't see codec option)

Hello i have an advantech SBC PCM9375F and USB pins look like this (see picture) it is just opposite of a normal usb header on a motherboard. Does anyone have any idea how do i deal with this? I need this usb to be used as a boot device because my main disk or ram is corrupted in some way It is an industrial computer and the only other storage option is a IDE 2,5 inch male out made for IDE flash drives so it is useless for HDD unless i find a converter which i cant.. I also cant troubleshoot the IDE flash drive on another computer because of the same problem it has a female connector Im happy to hear any advice or new information thank you in advance

Just bought a TWS from Oppo and it supports both SBC and AAC. Quality from both sound similar. So, which one of them do I use on my Android device? My device is a Xiaomi K20 on Android 10 and TWS are Oppo Enco W11

Hello LTT Forums, I purchased a Libre Renegade recently and have been trying to get Ubuntu running on it. Currently I have a freshly flashed 64 GB Sandisk SD card, a 5V---2.5 amp power supply, and absolutely no signal coming from the device. I have tried a bag of different OS options, flashing softwares, and methods of pulling out my hair. I am about four more attempts away from being bald. Currently the two lights (one green and one red) are on. Neither light blinks to show any kind of status. It has never sent an HDMI signal to my monitor. Does anyone have an idea on what to do here? Am I crazy for not just forking over a scalped fortune for a Raspberry PI? My future goal is to have this be a Steam Remote play client for my living room TV.

Hello! My home fibre gets upgraded from 300Mb to 1Gb later today. I don't believe my current Raspberry Pi 4, with Open Media Vault and external HDD, will be able to write files fast enough for the data that's coming in over the fibre line. Ideally I'd prefer an SBC rather than a laptop and PC, both for initial and ongoing costs, due to how infrequently I use the NAS. The NAS' primary purpose is to download torrents which a Kodi box access in another room (no transcoding). Some sort of SBC that can either handle an SATA SSD at 1Gbps, or an NVMe capable one, would be perfect. Any recommendations wouild be great. Thanks!

Hey guys, I've always wanted to make a custom laptop, something that I could just swap out and upgrade on a whim. Seeing as how SBCs have become increasingly popular and powerful, I was wondering if people would be interested in a "laptop shell", and the SBC within can be easily swapped as required. Something like a pitop, except it should accommodate any SBC of your choice. Since I wanted to make something for myself, I was thinking if I could get some feedback from the community if this is something that you guys would be interested in? I would be excited to start a build log here, and eventually maybe a kickstarter or something. Features I've been working on implementing: 1. Support for most SBCs (dimensions) I did some research, and figured that the rough dimensions the "shell" should support are 120mm X 60 mm, that covers the 85th percentile of all boards in SBC DB. 2. Support for most SBCs (ports) The connectivity between the "shell" and the SBC should be as universal as possible.. Display will be via HDMI (audio supported) Power to SBC can be via USB or soldered points (5V) Keyboard and touchpad (via USB) 3. Relatively long battery life I'm aiming to build in a 75Wh battery, which should net me about 9 hours of average to high load usage, and still within the 100Wh carry on limit. 4. Audio via speakers 5. In-built fan to cool down SBC 6. 2 2.5" bays After more thought I thought it'd be cool to have 2.5" bays in the chassis! Since support to boot from SSDs have been enabled for RPI 4, I thought this was a good feature to have. Thanks for reading through the idea!

There's no evidence to my knowledge of a delay or cancellation, in fact the ARK says it's been released, but there obviously aren't any being sold anywhere. Any ideas?

Hello, can you use a powered usb hub to power RPI's or other SBC's. Is there any easy way to power multiple SBC's easily because im a bit limited on plugs ( also im not a confident soldered so no soldering onto gpio pins etc) Would any of these work? Much thanks, Scrub

Hi, I am looking for a reasonable (under 1000) build for a mini ITX or SBC light weight render blade. I am trying to balance cost with render power so that I can build a bunch of them. I've been looking at the node 202 and an rtx 2060. Are there any recommendations to keep down costs and have high enough performance? If possible I'm looking for something that is stackable. Thanks

As the title indicates, could it be cheaper to build my own tablet instead of buying one? And by building, I'm thinking of something like attaching a singleboard computer to an IPS touchscreen (some even come in packs), maybe a powerbank for battery, and you got yourself a tablet. Its upgradeability its great, swapping components is super easy and can run several OS's. I know some of you will say "Well, it depends on what you are going to use it for". To me personally would be to watch netflix, twitch and youtube mainly. 1080p is very important! I would also like to do some web surfing and who knows, maybe even play some games (remotely) with parsec.

Beeing around for quite some years with LTT (not in the forum), I came to the point with a close friend of mine, that he said just said, Build me up a f***n Sytem, that i can use to, watch streams in a browser in 1080p on linux mint! And i'm 100% with him, and i understand his disappointment! Cause we upgraded his linux mint version recently from 16.04 to 19.10, and videos in google chrome are now not that smooth anymore. He does know any shit about computers or Single Board Cumputers and so on, and . He uses a 1080p TV as his "Monitor" powered by a old Laptop and it will be a TV in the future too. So he does not get the point, that prices of cumpupter components and their prices, or rhat the components themselves can cange dynamicly. He just want to have a box that serves him sweet smoothly 1080p streaming content... in a browser..... Never seeeing a Build with this kind of specification before, Especially for linux mint. its very dificulty to me, I've never benchmarking PCs on their Browser Performance... So thats an unexpected Problem to solve for me right now. I just don't know in wich direction to go right now. Single Board computer or PC? And how about, when he descides to upgrades his TV to 4k TV?

Well, just recently I was browsing through the interwebs to look for some interesting stuff and I found something. I used to be a bitcoin GPU miner and also did a bit of F@H and back in the days I was wondering if there was a way to make it more efficient. I was thinking ARM but no hardware to that purpose was on the market so I discarded the idea. And now I've stumbled over a company which sells SBCs (http://www.gateworks.com/product/item/ventana-gw5100-network-processor) and expansion boards which enable these super low power ARM systems to have up to >>7<< PCIe x1 connections. These SBCs can run Linux and it's also well known that nvidia has ARM GPU drivers that support pretty much their entire later desktop lineup (http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-arm-display-archive.html) Of course you can't just go and plug your GTX Titan X into a Mini-PCIe port, but there are things like http://www.delock.com/produkte/F_375_Mini-PCIe_41851/merkmale.html?setLanguage=en Or other powered Mini PCIe risers, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem What do you guys think, what could be achieved with an nVidia GPU farm that runs of just a low power ARM CPU without much power overhead? Is there ARM-software out there that could enable this setup to do even more interesting tasks like GPU accelerated video rendering or stuff like that? As I said I'm new here, so I might've inadvertedly broken some rules. If that is the case I'd appreciate a reply so I know better in the future. Thanks
