Hey! Some months ago my Samsung monitor, Samsung Odyssey G3 LF24G35, stopped working. It only shows green pixels. But if I put on like a black screen video from YouTube the pixels turn black, but if I put on a white screen video it turns green again. I can only see green pixels or black, not any other colors. At top of the monitor I can see some pixels showing the right colors what I'm looking at. This issue started happening after a GPU driver update, I have the RTX 2060 6 GB. It's strange, because when I tried my monitor with my laptop, it still showed me the green pixels issue. So it's not the GPU drivers then on my main PC. The thing is, the monitor works sometimes randomly perfectly and I can see what happens on the screen. Then it just gets green again randomly, weird issue. Do any of you know what the problem might be? Is there any way for me to fix this easily or do I need to get it replaced? //ItzSwezy

So I have a Samsung Odyssey G50 165hz 1440p, sometimes the games feel smooth and fast, but sometimes it feels like theres some latency, I checked my render latency its really good, then I tried some settings on the monitor, non of them had an impact on the high latency feeling, then I turned on the G-sync and it made a huge difference I could easily see it, but then when I turned it off, it felt as fast as its turned on, then I remembered that I noticed this before, so why is that, that after a while I have to enable or disable G-sync for my monitor to have low latency, is it a bug or something? The game I tested it was CS2 and I remembered that when I first noticed it was CS:GO aswell but I think its only because its a fast paced game and that the only FPS game I play, in story games the latency doesnt bothered me enough for me to notice I guess

Hello there, I bought a Samsung Oddysey Windows Mixed Reality Headset about a year ago. It has been serving me well and has worked pretty much flawlessly 90%, and the few times it doesn't simply reconnecting it and resetting the room boundaries usually fixes whatever issues. I recently purchased Half-Life Alyx during the Steam Summer Sale. Now, I normally run my VR games off my laptop with a GTX 1650 and a Intel Core i5 9300H. While this setup is not ideal for VR, it has been perfectly adequate for the simple games I have played like Beat Saber and Superhot. I bought Alyx knowing that there was a good chance it wouldn't run very well on my laptop, and I was right. I played for about 20 minutes and the high frame-times and low frame-rate started making me feel nauseous. However, I knew this would have probably happened so I decided to switch over to my desktop with an RX 580 and a Ryzen 1600, conveniently the exact minimum requirement for Alyx. Here are the rest of the specs. CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.8MHz GPU: Gigabyte RX 580 8GB (not overclocked) Motherboard: MSI Gaming Pro X370 RAM: 16GB 3200mhz HyperX Fury Storage (where the game is installed): 3TB WD Cavier Blue Power Supply: SeaSonic M12II 620W OS: Windows 10 Home I am running the game at low settings. The reason I don't usually play VR on my desktop is the room that it is in is quite small compared to the areas I can take my laptop too. It had been quite awhile since I last played a VR game on my desktop, but I didn't think it would be an issue. However, after starting VR I was having problems. First, the controllers would drift everywhere and even when they were tracking normally they would sorta shake making it hard to select things. Sometimes they would just go missing for a seconds on end and come back randomly. The worst thing by far however was the headset itself. At least every 30-60 seconds the headset display would say "Lost Boundary" and just freeze, spaz out for a few seconds, and then go back to normal for 30-60 more seconds until it happened again. It is nauseating. Sometimes, it doesn't even say lost boundary, the display will just freeze. You can still look around but it is just a black void around you. By the way, when all of this happens you can also see the freezing on the monitor mirroring the game. I can be pretty sure it is not the headset itself because everything worked fine on my laptop, even when running Alyx. I am also quite certain these issues are not Alyx exclusive as they happen in the WMR House hub place as well, but admittedly not as frequently. Here is a list of things I have already tried based on internet recommendations... Reinstalled Windows Mixed Reality Clean install of graphics drivers Disconnected everything except necessary peripherals from USB. The only things connected are the Headset and Bluetooth Dongle on the back ports and Mouse Dongle in the front port. The only things connected to Bluetooth are the controllers and a bluetooth keyboard. Tried connecting headset to different USB 3.0 ports. I even tried a USB 3.1 port, but it wouldn't even let me launch VR with that without giving me an error, so only USB 3.0. The headset connects via HDMI and my RX 580 only has 1 HDMI Port so I can't really do anything else there. By the way, the monitor I am using is connected via DisplayPort Turned off motion smoothing in SteamVR Lowered the "Quality" Settings in the Windows Mixed Reality Settings Cleared Environment Data from Windows Mixed Reality Settings Reinstalled SteamVR (and SteamVR for WMR) I have USB and HDMI 6ft extensions, and I tried disconnecting those but still the same. I'm starting to run out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried to provide as much information as possible, but please let me know if you need anymore information on the setup. Thanks everyone!

I originally made the post on reddit about issues and recalls on the 1st edition Samsung Odyssey G9. I have since returned 2 of the original Ody G9s, under recall. If you own one, they will allow you to return it, without question, for a full refund. All you have to do is keep telling them "its under recall".Even when they want to send someone out to troubleshoot it, just tell them "no, its under recall." They are under recall due to a 240hz horizontal scan line issue (as seen here: https://i.imgur.com/7P7K7Ls.png). I went through 2 monitors, hoping one with an updated manufacture date would resolve the issue. It didnt. My next thought was, "ok, lets return the 2nd one and get the Ody Neo G9, upgraded panel. They must have this issue fixed in this panel right?" WRONG. The horizontal scan line issue STILL EXISTS in this new Neo G9 panel. The updated monitor and panel are nice, I'll say that. There are additional buttons for quick switching between monitor settings (profiles). Its a bit more durable (doesnt move around as much), the frame has a more streamlined look to it, the colors and contrast are quite a bit better than the original. The blacks are amazing. Im not sure what Im going to do. Who knows if this issue will ever be fixed. It's not present in 120hz, only in 240hz, so at least Ive got that going for me. I am certainly going to reach out to Samsung support and have them look at this. For awhile they were saying that replacing the mainboard on the monitor was resolving it for the 1st edition. But then later they told me that was no longer an option. I wanted to share this with all of you that are looking at upgrading to ultra-wide. I will post more updates as I get them. tl;dr - New Samsung Ody Neo G9 has the same horizontal scan line issues at 240hz that are under recall on the first Ody G9.

For people that has scanlines on their G7/G9/Neo G9 and having difficulties to reach basic Samsung monitor support in their country, I was able to reach the Samsung HQ and got their answer: "Scanlines are because of the limitations of the screen". Some people may say that it is all the monitors that has this problem but my support said it is not all : " when you search the internet for an problem about an product it will always look like it is an major issue and that every product has that issue. This is an distorted view. The reason this view is distorted is because we can see the full picture.Let 's take this case for example. You have scanlines on your monitor. Of course you think "Wait is this normal?"The next thing you do is you do an google search and here you find an 1000 post about people with the same problem.Of course all alarm bels will go of and you will think that every monitor has the same problem.how ever what you can not see is the amount of monitors that have been sold world wide and do not have that issue. If there were sold 1 million devices and of those 1 million 1.000 have an problem. it is still an amazing product. but the 999.000 people who have an great monitor with out issues.will not post about it. " I hoped that it could be fixed with a firmware update but it seems we can't... They ask me if I could give them the monitor to inspect that on their side and give a replacement but I refused because I don't know if it will be the same... I have scanlines for these images, but maybe it will be different for you: a) https://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/attachments/whatsapp-image-2020-10-15-at-22-43-50-1-jpg.567680/ b) http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php c) https://www.testufo.com/inversion#pattern=uniformity2&ppf=5 d) https://i.imgur.com/noCE2tY.png e) https://i.imgur.com/wkZjUpc.png f) https://ksr-ugc.imgix.net/assets/029/605/180/2c8ef349a4e074a44e2b472a811a403d_original.gif?ixlib=rb-2.1.0&w=680&fit=max&v=1593159119&auto=format&gif-q=50&q=92&s=0d153a1f5b7af1a570f2128d92a0a508 g) https://rog.asus.com/wallpapers

I just got a RTX 3080 and Samsung Odyssey G5 (1440p 144hz) monitor and I have a HMDI 2.0 and a DP 1.4 cable (bought the hdmi from walmart because it supported 4k and 60-600hz then heard DP was better so I ordered an iVanky from amazon)... Which one should I use If I have both? Everything I am seeing says that DP 1.4 is better for PC, but all these sources are like from 2018. And I just saw in a thread that was dated back in may that hdmi 2.0 actually did support 1440p @ 144hz. If the HDMI 2.0 is just as good, does it not matter? When I plug in the hdmi I see the option to select 144hz from display settings and from NVIDIA control panel and UFO Test also shows that the monitor is 144hz. Needless to say, the same is true for the DP cable, which I am currently using. Is the only difference the bandwidth which is 18GB/s for the hdmi (GE brand) and 32.4GB/s for the DP ? Just want to know which one I should be using or if it didnt matter?

Hi everyone! Managed to finally score an RTX 3080 and I have been loving the experience, but I am having a really strange micro-tearing/stuttering issue. I was not able to capture it in a recording so I'll do my best to describe it. In every game I have tried, upwards/downwards movement (maybe sideways too but it's more noticeable when moving up/down) seems to cause small frame tears or micro-stutters in the image. My frametimes are smooth and I am well within the GSYNC range of my monitor (Samsung Odyssey G7 at 1440p 240Hz). I tried reinstalling drivers, etc and nothing seems to fix this. I upgraded from an RTX 2060 Super and I also tested a GTX 1060 and I did not experience this issue with any of those cards. Any ideas?

So I know that the static sound on WMR headsets comes from the USB not pumping out enough voltage to handle the USB extension. However I used to run my headset with 0 problems on the on-board back ports, with extension and everything, on an old shitty vitsuba master case. I just changed my case, got a NZXT H500, and all of the sudden the back ports an unusable if I use the USB extension. However the front ports (these aren't onboard) work fine with the extension. I really don't want to use the front ones because of cable management related reasons. And the ports worked fine with my other case. Any idea how could I fix this? My mobo is a gaming carbon pro x470

Just wanted an opinion from you guys. I have the chance to purchase a new Samsung Odyssey WMR for $375 right now. Normal retail is $499. Given that price, is it one of the best VR options? I'm looking to get started in VR for gaming but fear the WMR headsets and their compatibility with steam VR. In a perfect world I would just get the Vive pro but I don't have light boxes or controllers so that HMD and bundle would set me back $1100 which I'm not willing to spend. I have a 1080ti so I know I can push the pixels. Is the Samsung Odyssey still one of the best VR experiences or does the WMR platform ruin the experience? Im sold on the hardware of the Odyssey and definitely the price, but am totally unsure of the software support for gaming. Should I wait until this Holiday season for perhaps a new Vive bundle? Will a possible new Vive bundle be worth it then?maybe Just looking for advice here.
