Yesterday, I accidentaly stumbled with my laptop (was on the floor, I don't have too much space or a desk to put it on), and today, that I opened it. These marks appeared. I would like to know: Is this a screen or back screen problem? (To get a replacement) Could it be repaired without a replacement? The marks are barely visible, i watch them only when the screen have dark colors and it's not a big deal, but when i see them is like i can't unwatch them.

So first I just realized I had a dead pixel in my laptop (Sagee NP9176), I tried many things from Youtube that didn',t work out. I entered at Control Center from Clevo and I wanted to try a different power profile to try to fix the pixel. The laptop restarted automatically "in a normal way" and now the screen doesn't show anything and it resets automatically every now and then. I REALLY NEED HELP with this. My thesis is inside that machine (I have an online backup luckly but that laptop is very important to me for other stuff). If it doesn't have a normal reppair, how could i hard reset the laptop? (Even if that uninstall the OS)

Hello everyone I am currently in the process of getting a new laptop. I have decided on the Sager NP8157 but I can not decided which display would be best. Here are the options that I am stuck between: 15.6" Full HD, 120Hz 5ms Matte Display with G-SYNC Technology (1920 x 1080) 15.6" 4K QFHD, 60Hz 5ms Matte Display with G-SYNC Technology (3840 x 2160) I will be doing a lot of school work and gaming on this system along with the occasional movie when traveling or when I'm just bored. Initially I thought the 4k option was the way to go but I'm not too sure if it would be worth it over the smoothness of 120Hz. What are your thoughts?

Reason why I'm asking this is I'm currently looking at the Sager NP8156 or the 8157. I'm supplying my own drives and OS, so I save money by leaving those two categories blank in the configuration. I travel fairly often and I attend gaming parties in my area as well, which is why I'm wanting to purchase a new laptop. However I'm also saving up for a new desktop build as well, using either Ryzen or Skylake-X as the backbone of the build. I will be retaining my Fury Nitro until Volta releases. So with that said, since I'm saving up for a new desktop build, would it be worth going for a GTX 1070 in a laptop or just go with the 1060? Going with the former will delay my new build by 6-8 months, but in return I'll get a laptop that lasts for longer. Whereas with the latter option (1060) I will be able to do my build starting in April/May, but the laptop won't last quite as long with gaming. Also, going with either GPU, would it be worth getting the IC Diamond thermal compound and the 120Hz TN G-Sync panel? Or no? Thanks in advance for the suggestions and opinions

So recently I traded my gaming desktop for a Sager NP9773 / Clevo P770ZM. It has plenty of power except the GPU. I was wondering what my upgrade path would be and how I could do so. I've built literally tons of desktops but I've never done a laptop before and just don't want to forget an important step. i'm looking to spend between $200-$300 on the GPU upgrade. Any suggestions? i just bought a sager np8157 laptop, and the power brick that comes with it is a 230W power brick. and i was looking for some tips to help me solve my issue. at the end of september ill be traveling, and since i plan on playing games, i know the battery wont last long. im flying across the country and the plane wont have any power outlet. i was looking for a battery bank or some sort of solution for my problem. i am open to the option of getting a lower wattage power supply and buying a battery bank that only outputs around 100w.

what i have { sager laptop with gtx 1070 monitor 1: samsung ue510 led display monitor monitor 2: ASUS VG245H Gaming Monitor } issue: so the issue is multi monitor setup, when i connect my samsung monitor to my laptop using mini display port to display port everything works well but when i try to connect the second monitor using mini display port to hdmi all monitors go grey and i have to plug it out and force restart the laptop and so i tried to connect it with some generic hdmi cable and what happened was all monitors showed up but my samsung one went from uhd to 4 1080p displays and the asus one from 1920/1080 to 1920/720 at least according to nvidia control center so if any of you know why might this happen let me know cause surely a gtx 1070 can handle 3 monitors right ? by the way i have tried to uninstall the nvidia drivers and reinstalling it and the problem is still there

So I recently had a discussion with a guy I recently met while discussing ASUS RoG laptops. He was (and still is) in the market for a notebook that's portable and also has a lot of processing muscle on both sides for gaming and heavy tasks. He initially was set on purchasing the ASUS STRIX GL502VS due to its performance and attractive price of around €1500 (around $1768), but the power draw issues due to the use of a 180W adapter instead of a 230W adapter soured the deal and he gave up on it as a result (the current models do ship with a 230W and there's an RMA program for it FWIW). So he's searched around and he's come across the Clevo laptops. More specifically, he's come across the Clevo P950 and P650. I don't have experience with Clevo laptops, but they seem to be the same company as Sager, so I checked on the equivalents and they seem to be almost similar spec-wise, with a couple of minor differences (the P650 doesn't have Optimus, for example). So this really begs the question. I don't have much experience with Sager/Clevo laptops, but I know lot of guys here do, and I'd like to ask what do you personally recommend? (And please, no "just build a desktop" answers)

Hey LinusTechTips Forum, I am respectfully asking for some community input prior to making a decision. I am in the market for a mobile workstation capable of running CUDA code. The general requirements I am looking for are as follows: at least a quad core CPU with hyper threading at least 16GB of ram (preferably 32GB+) at least a NVIDIA GTX1060 (1070 is preferred) at least 500GB of disk No more than 5.5 lbs / 2.49 kg (preferably closer to 4 lbs / 1.8 kg) (charing brick exclusive, although the charging brick shouldn't be 2+lbs) battery life around 6 hours for low work loads (lightweight development, text editing, browsing, etc) (shouldn't be noisy when doing this) (of course more is always preferred) battery life around 3 hours for computationally heavy workloads (training NNs) (hearing the fans is ok here, but quieter is preferred) form factor of 14 - 16 inches (so probably 15.6" screen) sufficient thermals (light workloads should not get hot, heavy workloads should still be comfortable) Ubuntu compatible without any major system features compromised (e.g. if I use Ubuntu for my OS I should still be able to use external monitors - I have read that some devices have issue with this) keyboard should be relatively comfortable for extensive use (I have heard bad things about the ergonomics of ASUS ROG Zephyrus) same should be true of trackpad I/O should have at least USB3, thunderbolt / USBC, and HDMI preferably magnetic charging at least HD screen (preferably UHD / 4k) Clearly given the above requirements, whatever it is will be expensive (so price is not being considered here). Currently I am looking at (in no particular order): The Razer Blade 14" (either late 2016 / 2017) ASUS ROG Zephyrus Sager NP8952 (CLEVO P950HP6) System76 Oryx Pro MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro Gigabyte AERO 15 Which of these (or any others that I may have missed) is truly the closest to the above specifications? The Sager looks really nice, but I am unfamiliar with the brand so I hesitant about it... I greatly appreciate your feedback. Also please leave any comments about performance about the above products if you personally own one.

Hello all. I was just about to order the Asus GL502VM today until I found the Sager NP8156. I've never heard of Sager before but I've been reading that their build quality is pretty good. Compared to the GL502VM, the Sager will run cooler and have some extra customization options (like the keyboard, which I'm all about). What do you guys think? I also thought about the Clevo N850HP6, however I haven't seen any reviews for it.

I already have a gaming desktop (Ryzen 5 1070) But I need a portable gaming laptop because I move around alot. All I literally bring is my phone, money, snacks, water and a laptop. I play games which are HEAVILY reliant on Single core performance. Therefore I need a laptop with a DESKTOP CPU. This is possible as Sager/Clevo are making such laptops but the i7 7700k Gtx 1060 Combo is $1999 and I can't afford it. I need a laptop recommendation (with links) to a laptop with i5 DESKTOP (Socketed, so I can change the cpu if I upgrade) (pref i5 7600k/i5 6600k/i5 7600) 16gb DDR4 2400mhz Ram 200+gb of ssd windows 10 Gtx 970m/980m/1050ti/1060 And a backlit keyboard, if possible. Thanks bois

hello I hope anybody can help me connect my sager np8153-s to my asus PB277Q 1440p 75hz monitor, I tried all the 3 hdmi cables I have but none of them seem to work. I just read hdmi 2.0 wont work at 1440p at 60 hz and I'm guessing it wont work for 75hz either so I'm guessing that is my problem. I just want to know how exactly I can get 1440p with my models and which hdmi cable will run 1440p at 75hz. also does all hdmi cables work with all laptop computers for any resolution? I hope my specific model wont get in the way of my desired results is what I'm trying to say. sorry I have the technology knowledge of a 75 year old lol I hope you can help this noob thanks for the help!

Having seen the video reviewing the new Sager laptop (the one with 2 1080s in it) from LinusTechTips, I decided to empty my bank account and eat nothing but rocks in order to buy one. However, this laptop has a serious issue. Its vapour chamber cooling solution does cool the graphics card well enough, but the 2 2.5inch hard drives on the other side of the graphics card are getting toasted by the heat produced by the GPU. In fact, the hard drive will get as hot as 76C after long gaming periods! Regardless of a cooling mat blowing at maximum speed. As you can see here, my config only has one GTX 1080 (because I can't afford 2 of them obviously), the one drive sits near the GPU gets insanely hot while the other one's perfectly fine. So, my question is, how long can the hard drive survive in this kind of condition? 76C is definitely too hot and I have no doubt it would die young, it's only a matter of time. And, what's the solution if possible? The graphics card works perfectly fine, so I think there's nothing wrong with the cooling system, it's just a design flaw. Maybe they shouldn't provide us with the HDD option and restrict it to SSD only, in that case I personally will just leave those two slots empty, and not having to deal with this problem. English is not my native language so please forgive me for poorly constructed sentences.

Hey all! So I'm currently in the market for a second laptop. I already own a Lenovo Legion Y530 and it works well. However, I'm wanting something more powerful for my second machine. I was looking at the Origin EVO 16-S, but then I noticed that the Sager NP8966 NOTEBOOK uses the same Clevo chasis. The prices are ridiculously different, too. Base model price (at the time of writing): Sager: $1549 500gb SSd 16gb RAM (Dual Channel I think?) 144 hz 16.1" display Rtx 2060 9th gen i7 9750H Origin: $1824 240gb SSd 8gb RAM single Channel 144 hz 16.1" display Rtx 2060 9th gen it 9750H There is a pretty obvious Origin tax. Is there any reason on God's green earth that someone would pick Origin over Sager for that kind if a premium? (Customer service aside) I've owned a Sager laptop in the past and LOVED it. I'm fairly comfortable applying quality thermal paste and making sure everything on the inside of the laptop is plugged in properly (like WiFi cards, keyboard ribbons, etc) so that doesn't worry me. Also, I think it would be very interesting if LMG made a video on this topic in detail. I legit want to know if there's any value in paying a brand tax like this. Thanks!

Hi, I'm creating this post to know how secure is buying a laptop from Xotic PC. I will spend a big amount of money in a Sager gaming laptop and I want to know from someone's else experience about the customer service they have and how secure is to pay like $1,800 with a debit card to avoid losing all that money. I've also read a few posts before where people mention they took like 6 weeks to deliver the laptop, and I would like to know if this happend to anyone to decide if I would have to buy it a few weeks earlier to get it in december 11th-18th

so I just recieved this laptop from xoticPC. It is a SAGER NP7958C (CLEVO NH58AC) ryzen5 3600 32gn RAM and a 1660ti. While setting it up I noticed it hit 93C installing steam and reaches 91C watching YT videos. I haven't had the balls to game on it yet. Is this normal because of having desktop components in a thin laptop? I feel like I should RMA this, but my experience with xoticPC this far has been a nightmare, waited since april 3rd to receive my laptop. I bought a thermaltake massive cooling pad for it (which hasn't arrived yet) in Hope's of mitigating some of the heat. I guess what I'm asking is...... 1. is this normal? 2. should I rma it?

I have been thinking of upgrading my Clevo p870's cooling powers with a nice and cozy Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. The two GTX 1080s and i7 6700k would benefit from the chill out time. The CPU is pretty normal, gets up in the 80s, but nowhere near the limit of 95, however, the GPUs get to 91 and stay there while under real stress (gaming and rendering mostly). The problem comes from the safety department: It says it should not operate under 10 Celsius, however, I happen to live in a country where winters tend to get to -15 or even -20 (in the area where I live) and I do carry my computer around in a backpack. Obviously I don't intend on running it in the snow, but due to how courses work, I won't always be able to wait 10-20+ minutes for temperatures to normalize, so do you think it would be able to support that, or should I just pick another product, like Coollaboratory Liquid Pro and Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut? Yes, I am talking about both on the outer side of CPU IHS and on the die itself and also on the GPU dies. Also, how well would the liquid metal solutions work in the context of being in a backpack, so a lot of movement on all axis? Technically speaking, I understand tha the safest bet is Kryonaut, but if I could get better results, I would like to be well aware of them. Thank you, community!

Hello everyone, Just a quick question. Does anyone here have any experience or references with using eGPU enclosures and cards with Sager laptops, and if so, can you provide any information on what system works best?
-
hi so i recently discovered this brand and on paper, their laptops seem to be hitting all the check marks on paper but I'm not seeing any reviews or a lot of user feedback. Anyone have any experience with my particular model or feedback on the brand and its customer support would be great too. Cheers(y) link to product-http://www.sagernotebook.com/Notebook-NP3132.html

The problem started some 2 months ago. I do not recall any possible physical damage that could resulted with the problem. The problem starts when i turn on the computer. The LED lights on the keyboard light up almost instantly with the power button light, and the screen stays black... for up to 39 minutes ( the longest I've timed it. Shortest is 5 min.) After so much time the screen turns a lighter shade of black and "Sager" logo appears for a split second and the computer runs just fine after that without a single problem. To solve the computer problem I played with the Task manager start up settings to no avail. I then went to the BIOS settings where I, either messed it up so badly or it was a hard drive problem but the computer lost Windows 10. As in i started it and it said "No boot Media!!" So I took it to a local pc repair shop where the Tech. there said it might be a hard drive problem( this was 2 weeks ago as of this message). We replaced the hard drive with a 1TB SSD. That did not fix the problem. But I got windows 8.1 ( my original windows program on the machine) back and i did notice a difference in speed on the computer. But the boot problem persists! Through some experiments i found if I remove the battery, hold the power for a few seconds, and replace the battery it works and boots normally. But I must do it every time it seems like in order for the machine to boot in a reasonable time. I would greatly prefer not to do that. No forum on the internet seems to help and I can't find a website to buy a new battery for my pc, if that's even the issue....

Hi, I have a Sager NP8278-S that a use for university (engineering programs) and for gaming, I like it but it's heavy and the battery don't hold for more then an hour and less. So I wanna know if it's worth selling it to buy a smaller laptop (like a dell spx 13, asus zenbook, etc) or to build a desktop computer instead if so wich price should I sell it?. Thanks for your answers (sorry for my bad english :S) Here his specs : CPU : i7-4810MQ (2,8GHz turbo boost up to 3,8GHz) GPU : GTX 870m 6GB RAM : 16 GB HDD : 1TB 7200 rpm + msata samsung 850 EVO 250 GB Optical drive : Blue-Ray drive Other features : RGB backlighted keyboard, fingerprint, CPU and GPU fully upgradable (GPU up to 980m)

Specs: CPU: INTEL 3740QM 3.7Ghz GPU: 1x NVIDIA GTX680m 4GB RAM: 16GB Primary Drive: SSD Samsung 840 120GB Secondary Drive: HDD WD Scorpio Black 750GB OS: Windows 10 Pro

I made a post on /r/suggestalaptop but I didn't quite get all the info I was hoping for so I thought I'd make a post here as well. I use my current laptop (Lenovo y700) for everything (~13 hours per day) and would like to get something I really enjoy using. At work (software engineer) I use it for running VM's and compiling software. At home I play some games and do a lot of browsing from my desk and while lying down in bed. I live in the US and my budget is pretty flexible at about $2000 (I would probably consider anything < $2500 or so). The things I definitely want are: A fast CPU for compiling at work GTX 1070 (I play some games and I have a 4k external monitor at work and I might get another. I would like to be able to drive both, but the laptop's monitor doesn't need to be 4k itself) Room for at least 32 GB of RAM Comfortable, responsive keyboard (I like the one on my Lenovo y700 now and its similar to the MSI SteelSeries keyboards) Good port placement (my current laptop has ethernet and HDMI on the right side and my mouse hand constantly bumps into it) Reasonable thermals (fan doesn't sound like a jet engine, internal temperatures are low, comfortable enough to use while lying down in bed) 15 inch screen (preferably with gsync) Things I don't care about that much: Aesthetics Weight (although I don't really want an incredibly thick laptop. I need to fit it in my backpack) Battery life (anything at about 1.5 hours or more should be fine) My current top choices are (in order): Aorus X5 V6 (http://www.aorus.com/Product/Features/X5 v6) Sager NP 8153-S (https://www.sagernotebook.com/Notebook-NP8153-S.html) MSI GT63VR Dominator Pro (https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GT62VR-Dominator-Pro-6th-Gen-GTX-1070.html#hero-overview) Asus Strix GL502VS (https://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks/ROG-GL502VS/) The Aorus is my top choice right now. It seems like they fixed a lot of complaints people had with the previous model and they've added a bunch of nice extras (120Hz 5ms response time gsync display, RGB backlit keyboard, lots of M.2 slots), although it is expensive. I haven't been able to find any reviews yet. The Sager definitely seems like the best value for the price, but I'm concerned about the build quality and how ccomfortable the keyboard is to use. I've heard mixed reviews on these fronts (although I haven't seen any reviews on this particular model either). I tried a few MSI laptops in Best Buy (although they didn't have the GT63VR) and I think it would be a good choice if the first 2 don't pan out to be that good. The keyboard and build quality seemed really solid from the ones I saw. I also saw the Asus in Best Buy and it seems like it has some really nice stats and reasonable thermals. However, it didn't feel very sturdy in my hands and the keyboard wasn't amazing. I would love to hear some opinions on these choices or alternatives that I should consider. I would especially appreciate it if I could hear some thoughts from anyone who owns or has tried one of these. Thanks for any help.

Buy Sager NP9873A1-M on Amazon: http://geni.us/J0tJ8v0 With a desktop CPU, a desktop GPU, and a truly huge form factor... can you even call this thing a laptop anymore?
