I can’t get out of the screen that tries to boot up to a safe mode it just restarts pc on loop when it load the logo, under the logo it says preparing and then restarts on loop

So, recently I bought a second hand MSI GTX 1080ti Sea Hawk X and tried installing it replacing my 1660ti, however, I could't get past installing the geforce drivers. The drivers would almost finish installing but then the display would flash with these small glitchy looking white/purple/green lines and restart. With every restart after that, the process would repeat, windows logo would load followed by screen going blank with glitchy lines and then restart. Or it would also sometimes not restart and just say no signal. Other times the glitchy lines would stay on the screen for 5 seconds or more before restarting. The only way to break the cycle was to boot into safe mode and use DDU to clear the drivers, then it would boot into windows normally. So, as long as the drivers weren't installed or I was in safe mode everything would work fine besides obviously not being able to actually use the gpu. Not sure if this is important, but I have 2 monitors and the 1080ti would only display to one of them. The person I bought the card from claims that It was working perfectly fine before I got it, which I am inclined to believe because he has videos of it working days prior (and proof of the date). He says he's never seen the card do anything like what I showed him. The cards vRAM fan is also loud (making an RRRRR sound) and inconsistent (would spin for like 2 seconds at a time), like its struggling to spin. Which he also claimed didn't happen before. He has been doing his best to give suggestions on what the issue might be. I even tried installing it on my girlfriends pc, which is a lot more powerful and updated, yet the symptoms were the same. Even the monitor problem where it only displays to 1 of 2 monitors. Will soon also try it on my friends computer which is even more updated and powerful. I also reinstalled my old 1660ti and had no issues. Does anyone know what the issue might be? Am I installing something wrong, is there a compatibility issue, or did I just get ripped off? The attached images show what the glitchy lines look like when they flash on the screen. Any help would be great! Specs: i5-7600 Gigabyte GA-H110M-H 2x 8gb DDR4 EVGA 500w psu (tried with brand new 700w to same outcome) Windows 10 64bit What I've already tried: Installing drivers in safe mode: They install successfully but when I try to restart into normal windows the crash cycle happens again and I have to use DDU again. Installing various versions of the drivers, even the exact version the seller had used Using a higher capacity psu Letting geforce experience automatically install them Letting Windows automatically install them Cleared CMOS DDU multiple times to clear old drivers Reseating the card Ran the driver installer as administrator Tried a clean install of the drivers with nv clean install looked for MSI version of the drivers, however couldn't find the 10 series sea hawk drivers Dusting the PCIE slot Tried shutting down the pc after installing drivers in safe mode and waited 30min before starting it again IMG_4105.HEIC IMG_1906.HEIC

hey guys, i recently tried to update my gpu drivers and when that didnt work i tried to uninstall the old ones and reinstall the new ones. after i used the AND cleanup utility i tried restarting my pc and as soon as i type in my password and log in i can only see a black screen with my cursor on it. is there any way i can fix this? thanks!!

In a fresh install of windows im having trouble connecting to the internet. I restarted in safe mode with networking and I get an ethernet connection, but in a normal boot up it stops working. How can I fix this?

Hello peeps, I recently upgraded from a ROG z270 to a ROG z490, I remember enabling XMP on my Z270 and it did work with a 6600K to boost the memory frequency to 3200Mhz however motherboard died after some times and its 95% because of the XMP. (mobo goes into infinite boot loop red led then orange and again). Now with my Z490-F, I can't even go higher than 2133 Mhz. After enabling XMP the board turns off and on TWICE then goes into the same cycle as the Z270 for at least 4-5 times then sends me to bios and the screen before that telling me i booted into safe mode and have to press F1. I never manually overclocked because I don't know how and would rather use the pre set profile just so I don't burn anything. Can anyone help me fix this? I'm trying to get into safe mode on my XPS 15 to use DDU cause I'm having driver issues with my eGPU however, I can't seem to get into safe mode. Holding shift while clicking restart in the start menu brings me to the Windows RE, then clicking "Troubleshoot" gets me to the screen shown below with those 6 options but safe mode isn't there. Also, I'm sure there's other stuff missing here as there is no "reset this PC" option and I swear there used to be a 'Continue to windows' button in here. Its a fresh install of windows 11 just yesterday. Specs: XPS 15 9510 i7 11800H RTX 3050ti 16GB ram Edit: Forgot to mention that trying the hold shift and clicking restart from the Lock Screen just fails outright an the system reboots back into windows, albeit painfully slowly

This is a nightmare series of events for me at this point so I'm just gonna listen everything as simply as possible that has happened up until now. Avast Antivirus kept popping up claiming the firewall was off and that it needed to be turned on, but whenever I tried opening Avast it was in a state of "not responding' or just crashing. I tried to check the firewall in the windows security settings but whenever i clicked the popup it would not open the settings and act as if nothing was clicked. I decided to uninstall Avast clean it off of the pc and then reinstall to see if that would fix the issue. I used Revo uninstaller and cleaned all traces of Avast off the drives. But after restarting the pc when prompted to i then had no internet connect, i restarted the router and even tried a wireless connection rather than a wired but both times still presented the same issue. I could see other networks when using the wireless adapter but when I connected it would just say 'no internet connection' yet all devices in my house still had a connection. I tried to launch CMD in order to do an 'sfc scan' to check for issues but I needed to launch it in admin mode to do so but when I searched up cmd in the search bar there were no results not even Edge results just a black grey box. After looking through a number of posts online I decided to 'Reset' windows and reinstall it through the system settings but when I clicked the 'Reset' button a I got a popup that said 'FVEAPI.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error'. I searched this error up and a post in the Microsoft forums recommended trying to launch in safe mode which fixed their version of this error so I opened MSConfig and selected boot in safe mode and then restarted the pc. On restart all i got was a black screen, no manufacturer logo, no windows nothing. I've tried different ports on my GPU, I've tried ctrl shift win b to see if there is a reaction. I cannot find any useful online to help this situation, and Im just hoping and praying that there is someone on here to help me and drag me out of this nightmare. ANY advice would be appreciated.

Fellow Techies, My pc just started randomly freezing when I run any program. What could cause this? It has not froze yet in safe mode. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I'm having problems with my pc, and I have no idea how I could fix this. So yesterday I tried to reset my pc, at 99% the screen went black (without cursor). I turned the pc off and tried again which resulted in the exact same thing. I thought that safe mode might solve this problem and what happened is that whenever I got the pc in safe mode the exact same black screen came up. So I tried to force windows to safe boot by typing "bcdedit /set {default} safeboot network" in the cmd. So now every time I start my pc, I get this black screen (because it's booting in safe mode) Can anyone help me fix this, please?

So 2 days ago i was at my cottage and i was cycling and my phone fell and hit an asphalt road and the lower volume rocker like "went in" to the phone and i can't use it. It's jammed but it doesn't glitch like in a way that it would change the sound but then my phone ran out of battery and i charged it and now it is in safe mode and i can't change it. I tried to restart and boot up but nothing happens, still in safe mode. Can't use snapchat,whatsapp etc. I know that if you want to boot ur phone in safe mode you have to press the lower volume rocker when booting up but i can't get out of it. HALP!?

Using a B350 motherboard by msi. There's no hot keys to get there no f8 ect. Tried using a repair usb but safe mode isn't there either, this is because I was playing with my shader clocks so I need to disable the Nvidia driver I have and reinstall it. But I can't do that because no safe mode. CMD won't work to access it through network as well. I can't boot into Windows because of the shader clocks I set in the driver so windows it's self is not accessible.

Hello guys, My father has a PC which had some trouble with the MoBo, the Lan port was nos stable and sometimes the computer would not turn on. Motheboard: M5A88-V EVO CPU: AMD FX 8150 RAM: 4x8gb Corsair Vengeance 2133Mhz (running at 1600mhz) GPU: AMD HD 6970 DCUII HD: 500Gb Western Digital Power Supply: OCZ 750W I used my SSD (Samsung 840 Pro 250gb) to diagnose it, and then changed the MoBo for a Crosshair V Formula I already had and tested everything again still using my SSD and everything was working fine. When I put my fathers HD back, it would load the windows boot animation, and in the middle of it, it flashes a blue screen and turn off. I tried the windows repair and nothing, then I tried the system restore and still nothing. So I tried booting up in safe mode, and it was loading fine until it reached AtiPciE.sys then it hanged and reset. I know many people will tell me just to reinstall windows, but there are some programs that I can't even find a installer nowadays, and it is a work pc, so reinstalling would be the last resort. ps.: Using my SSD I can access the HD just fine, so it looks like is not a hardware problem with the HD

So i need help, again.... Today a update for the game War thunder came out and it wont allow me to update it so i had to reinstall the game wich didn't go as planned.... Ofcourse i went into steam and pressed uninstall game but it just removed the launcher and not the game and i also tried removing it with control panel and delete file but it does the same thing. Then i went to the game folder in C/steam/steamapps/common, so i tried removing the Warthunder folder but it wouldnt let me it first asked me to delete it using administrator rights and i did because i am but then it tells me i need to be user/Pc-user but i believe i am. Also i tried removing the folder using safe mode but it still tells me i need to be user but i only have one user and im using that user right now Please help... :wacko: Oh and sorry for my bad english im dutch Edit: before i tried deleting the file i installed a new launcher from warthunder.com and now i have 2 of these files worth 4-12 gigs i really need them gone!

So everything started last Saturday when I swapped my setup over to my new Corsair 750d I had some issues getting it started at first because I wasn't hooking the front panel up correctly. (I had the arrows going to the positive pins) after I got that switched around it started running again with no issues until last night. I was working in Premiere and After Effects when the computer suddenly shut off, no sequence just straight to black. Then it immediately restarted itself and continued working just fine 4+ more hrs of editing. Today when I got home to continue my video work I woke the system up and before I could open anything it did the same thing that it did last night, except this time it wouldn't wouldn't stay on. It would start up, get into Windows then shut off again, start up load up turn off. On some cycles of on off it would try to run the Disk Check for my OS drive but it would shut itself off in the middle of that and try to run again. After a couple rounds of this I power cycled it, no luck. Pulled the RAM (all but 1 DIMM), no luck. Checked all my connections twice, no luck. Temps all stable. I was able to have it run in safe mode with no issues. From there I tried to research the issue but not much luck. I turned it off again and checked everything out one more time. Tried it again with no luck again. When it was off I hit the switch on my GPU which I believe is a dual BIOS switch? Anyways I hit that for the heck of it, tried it. Now I'm back in normal mode. Everything is fine for now. Could that have been it? I did notice that my cat was rubbing on my case at the time of both incidents and I do have plugged in USB cables for dumping footage could she have static'd one? There was a few hours from me browsing forums to actually trying the switch. Could thing have 'reset'? It doesn't make any sense and it's got me twitchy. I would to make sure I have fixed this so it doesn't turn into something worse down the road. Any input is appreciated. Sorry for the novel. So I just upgraded to x99 with a 5820k MSI x99s Gaming 7 and 32GB ram from a G3258, ASUS Z97A and 8GB ram. I am currently writing this in safe mode since I cant get my mouse or keyboard to work in anything but safe mode or the BIOS. I've tried every USB port including front. I am using the same install of windows that I ran previously. Any help on getting my USB to work would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all, A few days ago, I logged on to my computer as normal. I wasn't able to connect to the internet, there was an error "!" symbol on the connection icon, so I tried ipconfig /release /renew, which removed the error, and my connection status was listed as connected. However, I could ping the DNS, as well as servers, but experienced a timeout when trying to ping websites, and was still unable to get onto my browser, chrome. however The Witcher 3 is accessable offline, so I didn't fret and just played that in lieu of browsing the net. The next day, my system was sluggish, and video games were crashing on launch. I restarted in safe mode with networking through MSconfig, since F8 wasn't working. From there I was able to get on to chrome, making me suspect the cause to be malware. I downloaded Malwarebytes, and ran a scan. It picked something up from the registry, which was removed. I couldn't get Norton to run in safe mode despite now being able to access the internet. This didn't appear to solve the problem unfortunately, since in normal mode, I'm still unable to connect to the internet, so whatever I cleared up must not have been the issue. Cheers if anyone can help. I seem to just be stumbling from one PC issue to the next lately.

my pc freezes for 5-6 secs and screen goes black and after 1-2 mins pc restarts or sometimes it doesnt restart it just stays black(display) while pc still running when connected to internet it works fine when not connected to internet and it also works fine in safe mode with networking it works fine when connected to internet in safe mode PC SPECS intel core 2 duo 2gb ram 1g nvidia 8400gs graphics card(i removed it from pc and it does nothing) windows 7 32bit PSU:440W motherboard:Intel DG41RQI Things I've done to solve the problem: Formated C drive and reinstalled OS SCanned with Avast BOOT TIME scan scanned with malwarebytes Changed VGA cable cleared CACHE None of them solved the problem I thougt its bcoz of LAN port so i connected to internet with my mobile and it still acts the same PLEASE help me P.S sorry for my bad english
