I swaped out my msi 990fxa gaming mobo for a sabertooth 990fx r3.0 to better handel the high tdp of my amd fx 9590 black processor, Since the swap i cant even complete a cinebench benchmark for the cpu without the computer crashing due to heat and it runs hot even at idle, i re seated the cooler and re applied thermal paste same results, swaped back to the msi board and no issues all was normal and well. Any ideas what may be wrong, this isant,my first build but the first issue like this here is my parts list. Hi, I thought that 1809 update was causing BSODs. Then I looked at it every time. I think that my memory was having issues. I was getting random drive errors, and BSODing from memory management. I got pissed of yesterday and changed out my Corsair 1866 16 GB kit to generic 1600 MHz 2 x 4 and 2 x 2 memory because it is what I had laying around. It seems to have worked, I hope. I have been disk checking and so far it has been clean with no errors found. Memory is lock at 1600 MHz. The Corsair was underclocked to 1333 MHz. I hope that solved the ridiculous amount of BSODs. I will keep posted on my 7 or so year old computer. I can't upgrade now.

I am wondering if I should Upgrade from my R290x to something newer or would I be bottlenecked by FX8350? It does not have HDMI 2.0 support Amd I have to run Display port 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 to get 4k 60Hz.

Hi, My boot priority Changed today. My computer would not boot. Just a black screen after BIOS slash screen. I went in to UEFI BIOS and the SSD would not show. I had to go into advanced settings. I had to change the boot config to the SSD instead of the Toshiba HDD. I got the computer to boot by it's self. I don't know why the settings changed. I have theory that the BIOS CMOS battery may be dyeing or dead, because my computer was also set to power saving mode when I had it set to performance. Has anyone else had this issue?

So I built my new rig 8350 CPU R9 290 GPU 8GB DDR3 Team Elite RAM Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Mobo WD 1TB Blue HDD So, made a Win8 Boot USB, go into UEFI (1640 BIOS I think) and boot from USB and only get "Missing Operating System" in white on a black screen. 8GB PNY USB stick. Any ideas?

Hi, My Mouse pointer is enlarged & appears to be magnified after install cat 15.7 driver in Windows 8.1. Anyone else have this problem & maybe a solution. Tried already changing to normal size under mouse pointers under personalization. The pointer looks like it in 600x800 res. when I have Res. set to 1920x1080 60hz. Eric

Guys, I need your help like a fat kid needs cake. My PC keeps shutting down after logging into windows or in the bios. I had taken out my motherboard to RMA because of an audio issue but was like screw it I need my PC for work but after putting it back in now it won't stay on. Whenever the PC shuts off the CPU light on my motherboard (Sabertooth 990FX) turns red and shuts off. I need y'alls help real bad, its to the point to where I'm about to just purchase an intel combo or a new 990FX board. Hi again. Right now I have Two (2) of Kingston HyperX Blu KHX1600C10D3/8GX RAM sticks installed in my system. Totally 16 GB RAM in my Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 system. Oddly this RAM set show up in 1333 MHz even it should be 1600 MHz. I can manually and safely raise it 1600 MHz from BIOS? My PC case is Corsair 900D. And my CPU cooler is Noctua NH-U12S. So I am asking Reccomends 32GB kit (8GB x 4) set for my PC system. Memory stick size should not be problem because Noctua NH-U12S allow pretty high profile RAM module installed next of it. So what 32GB kit you are reccomending for my system? Thank you for all who reply for this topic.

So as a example, if I have the computer idle for 20-30 min it will NOT sleep but instead blue screen and reboot. Here is a list of things that I KNOW it does: It WILL blue screen even if I don't log into Windows. If I change the sleep timer to something like 5 minutes, it will go to sleep, and resume from sleep no blue screen. It will boot, blue screen, reboot indefinitely. The monitor CAN be turned off (via power saving options not physically of course) and not blue screen. it only takes the move of the mouse to not blue screen. If a game is running in background it WILL blue screen. If a movie is running in background it WILL NOT blue screen. It only does it with Windows 8.1 not Windows 8 Things I have tried: Doing a clean install of Windows via a 8.1 install media. The install of Windows goes great, but I CAN NOT install the "Windows 8" version of the Chipset driver, it hangs indefinitely and seems to be tied in with the RAID driver. If I try installing the chipset driver using the advanced option and do not select the RAID portion of it, it goes off without a hitch. But blue screens still occur. I have done this 2 different ways. I installed the "Windows 8" chipset driver, then installed the 8.1 Audio, LAN, and the 2 Utilities that ASUS has provided. I have also not installed anything other than the 8.1 approved drivers, leaving anything the chipset driver does as pure stock. Doing a clean install of Windows 8, then upgrading to 8.1. This method seems to "buy me some time". I will install Windows 8, install the Windows 8 chipset driver (using the express install method which goes great), then install the video driver and then Windows Updates. Then let it upgrade to Windows 8.1. Then install the 8.1 audio, LAN, and Utilities from before. This method seems to give me about a week of use before it starts doing the blue screening again. (I have tried this method 2 times and both times are about the same) With both methods I install all my drivers needed for peripherals, like my webcam, keyboard and mouse, and wireless adapter. I do not think these have anything to do with bluescreens. I also install the video drivers usually after the chipset, but before everything else. I do not believe it is the video card either. What I do think it is... I have narrowed it down to 2 different things, I think. I think it is, over the course of that week, updating the drivers for some device and I am not able to locate which device it is (the Windows update log doesn't have anything like that at all but we all know how non-informative that can be). Another thing I think it could be is the "synced PC settings" and it is finally syncing my settings and constantly loading a setting that I have maybe changed that isn't jiving so well. I have been thinking that it COULD have nothing really to do with idle and maybe my HDD's are getting scanned or something and its hitting a bad sector. (by scanned Im referring to Windows doing its maintenance while it thinks the user isn't doing anything) I believe this simply because my HDD are by far the oldest component in my system and I am lucky that they haven't failed me yet. This could also explain why it isn't doing it for about a week or so because maybe that first week Windows is like "wait, I got to get all this new shit sorted out first before I go trying to take care of myself"... Anyways, those are my thoughts any other thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated! (If you guys want my dump file I can upload it, if you need any more info just ask!)
