Hello there, TL;DR: I have the NZXT S340 non-Elite. If I place two Corsair ML140 Pro LED White fans in the back, do I need any front intake fans? Will the negative pressure suck in extra dust? Right now I have an NZXT S340 (non-Elite) with two stock fans in the back, and two Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition White LED fans in the front. However, one of the stock fans sounds like a chainsaw sometimes. Also, the LED fans in the front are only 3 pins, meaning for my current setup they either run at full speed, or barely give off any light, since speed and brightness are controlled by the same pin... or something. In short, I need some new fans. I watched this video from Dawid Does Tech Stuff, in which he states front intakes are not really necessary for the S340, since the front is quite restricted. I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600 (not OC'ed) with a Hyper 212 Black Edition and a Radeon RX 5600XT. So temperature-wise the case is not much of a problem for me. However, only having two fans in the back might create negative pressure inside my case, as per this Techquicky. So would it be a problem installing only two fans in the back? I don't wanna suck more dust into my case than necessary. The case does have a magnetic dust filter in the front, which has worked very well over the past 5 or so years. Since I still want white LED's (or RGB, but I'd probably put them only on white or blue anyway) I settled on the Corsair ML140 Pro LED fans. They are the same price as the ML120's in my area, and I thought 2x140 might be better than 2x120 to compensate for a lack of front intake fans. Also, I'd prefer somewhat quiet fans if that's possible. What do you guys think? Also, if you have any suggestions for other fans, please let me know. Thank you :)

A new build with classic components from MSI, Noctua and NZXT featuring the MSI P45 Platinum with a Q9550S paired with top-of-the-line 4GB 1150MHz DDR2 Reapers and the MSI GTX 465 Golden Edition, in an NZXT S340 Elite with Noctua fans. I decided it was time for a Copper/Brown/White theme and so I put some old hardware to use, including the beautiful P45 Platinum which I pulled from a scrap bin. This is the spiritual successor my original 3-Way SLI GTX 465 rig, but now focused on the ultimate GTX 465 Golden Edition from MSI. This card retains its original firmware and is still a GTX 465, not a GTX 470. Full specs: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550S MSI P45 Platinum (saved from scrap) OCZ Reaper DDR2 1150MHz MSI GTX 465 Golden Edition 1GB Fermi (not flashed) NZXT S340 Elite EVGA 750 G2 80+ Gold Samsung 850 Evo 120GB Cooler Master Seidon 240M (it has LGA775 support) Noctua NF-S12 fans Windows 10 Pro This intention of this build was to relive the GTX 465 experience in 2022 and play old titles that have been sitting in my library forever, such as Far Cry 1 and 2, Just Cause and other classics. It's admittedly tough going back to a 1GB Fermi card after so many years of using my R9 290, R9 380 underwater and an RX 480 in Chile. I hope this quick build log tickles the fancy of the longtime supporters of the original 3-Way SLI rig, namely, @TheSLSAMG@xTrekStorex @vinyldash303 @JoshM@flibberdipper and others whose names have changed since 2014.

I recently purchased the Sennheiser pc37x. The audio quality on these is great however I've run into an issue with using the microphone. When plugging the microphone through the front IO of my NZXT s340 case there's this horrible screeching sound. I've tried playing around around with settings and I've double checked that the front panel connectors are correctly fastened to my motherboard but nothing has helped. However, when I plug the microphone at the back of the case I experience no issues. Normally I use this headset only when gaming with friends and having to reach behind my case every time I want to use my headset has become a bit of a hassle. I'm trying to figure out the next steps I could take to fix this issue and I've come up with the following. I'm open to other suggestions. Solution 1: Getting a DAC with microphone and headphone inputs. The thinking here is I'd have a box on my desk where I could easily plug/unplug my headset when needed. Solution 2: Upgrade my pc case Ideally I would like to keep keep the same style of case I currently have. White case with a clear side panel. Looking at a case like the NZXT 510 I'm seeing that there's a single "Headset audio Jack". Does this type of port allow for both the use of the microphone and headphones of my headset granted I'm using the right cable? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated along with alternat solutions that I might be overlooking. Thanks,

Hi guys! I'm looking for 2 front intake 140mm fans, and i'm wondering what to get. I don't care too much about price. My case is the S340 Elite. Should i go with noctua, bequiet or corsair fans or any other? I'm really confused as to wether or not to go with SP optimised fans or what do to, so i really need your guys' help. I use the Asus Sabertooth Z97 TUF Mark S motherboard so i have enough 4-pin connectors for them to be PWM. Also i am considering buying an aer rgb fan for exhaust cause i'm buying a HUE+ tonight <3. Gotta get dat smexy lighting goin' ^^.

I've heard a lot of good things about the NZXT S340 Elite but I've also heard something that could be a deal breaker for me: the cooling. I've hears that because of the front panels design there's no way you can effectively cool the system, especially the graphics card. This is apparently because the only way it can pull air in is through the 1-inch slits in the top and bottom. Since this is my first build, I'm not sure how true it is or if it even matters. If you have this case I'd love to know if you've been having any cooling issues with it. Also, recommendations for good, sub $150 cases would be great. Thanks!

So im getting my first build and im using a NZXT s340 as my case but the only thing thats bothering me is the CPU cooler that ill get. Im going with an Intel Core i7 6700k alongside an EVGA GTX 1070 FTW and i dont know what kind of air cooler i should get that can keep up with the i7 6700k 's level (maybe even a small OC to like 4,2 - 4,3 GHz). Originally, i chose the Dark rock pro 3 because i had seen various forum posts and videos which prove it to be a good cooler but after some research i started to worry about the size and how it would fit in my case. After that i started searching for alternative coolers which were under the 100 Euro range and so my attention went to the Cryorig H7. That was the cooler i believed (and still believe) i should get for my build but am still not sure if its good enough for the i7 6700k. The H5 Ultimate was another alternative pick to the Dark rock since alot of people believe it to be a very good cooler and much better than the H7 but the thing is that the H5 Ultimate has a similar size to the Dark rock and im worried whether it would fit into my case (i had read some posts which said their Dark rock/ H5 Ultimate had barely fit in their s340 and that some people even needed to put force in order to close the case). To conclude, im asking whether i should stick to the Cryorig H7 for an i7 6700k in a NZXT s340 or get something else (opinions are always accepted). PS. I would also like to know if these coolers will have any conflict with the ram slots or GPU Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mHN3d6 Thanks for your time

Hey guys, I would like to know your opinions on those cases. Due to their very similar specifications I would like to know which case would you prefer. Maybe there is even someone who wants to share his personal experience with those cases. :-)

Hey! if someone could give me the inside sizes (please in MM) of the inside top panel of the S340 elite (see picture) you don't have to include the front panel I/O connector because i will most likely remove those anyway. i'm planning to put a 360mm rad in the top (it's 400mm long) so if someone knows if it's posible that would be great to. thx in advance!

Hello everyone, I am currently planning a new build, and need some help with some of the components. My budget is 1850$ maximum, and as low as possible that meets my requirements. I am located in the US (west coast) and am upgrading from a mid 2012 MacBook pro 13. This system will be used for light gaming, such as rocket league, overwatch, but also some heavier titles, such as Fallout 4 and Skyrim. The budget needs to include monitor(s), and everything else not in parts list. I need a windows 10 key as well. The parts list is here. I don't have ethernet at my house, so I need to use a wireless adapter. Final thing: I really like ultrawide monitors, and would love to either use this one (60hz version) or this one (75hz version) 350$. I would be okay with a single or dual monitor setup, though. I bought the S340 case and am planning a 7600k build in it soon. I have most of the parts picked and want to go AIO on the cpu cooler. Im just not sure which to look at, I was going to go kraken to match the case, but corsair is a little cheaper in canada. Also some youtube videos say the swifttech h220 x2 is good. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks for the help

Over the summer I built my first PC featuring a FX-6300 and a RX 460. For the price I paid I was satisfied. But I wanted more. So late 2016 I built another PC featuring a Skylake i5 6500 and a GTX 1060 6GB. Again, I was very satisfied with the performance. But the computer building addiction had already set in. I wanted more. So here we are now. I'm putting the finishing touches on my latest build. A 7700k beast featuring Gigabyte's new Gaming 5 motherboard and an ASUS GTX 1070 tucked in a NZXT S340 Elite. Here's a spec list with a couple of parts I plan to add. Feel free to share your opinions, what you would change if it was yours, etc. Current Specs: NZXT S340 Elite i7 7700k Kraken X42 Gigabyte Z270 Gaming 5 ASUS GTX 1070 8GB Team Elite DDR4 2400 PNY 240GB SSD I plan to get: Kraken X62 to replace the X42 2x8GB G.Skillz TridentZ RGB DDR4 3200 NZXT AER fans and Hue+ Samsung 960 Nvme drive

Why (Yssssssss) It was black n white because i like it and my friend loves it so just like the last h440 bam bam bam The case was perfect just we needed a lil more black to fit our tastes. Love the CF texture and the biggest reason for using carbon fiber is that spray cans here really really suck so CF FTW. What are the future plans for this case White pastel fluid ( I think that explains most of it) Rest is even unknown to me atm Lets get started And i love the scent of new stuff. The moment a new box is opened u know the scent of shopper, cardboard even those thermopol safety foam smell smell’s good. Also love to open new stuff boxes ( Being honest i love even opening used stuff parcels too ). And i m really curious about the accessories that are given, those small boxes are fun too. BTW the above lines dont belong to Lets get started I will keep silent for the rest of the thread. But your input will always be welcomed. And your ideas matter too ( Dont look here and there i am talking to you reader ! ) Also i reply to pretty much every comment so dont hesitate if you have a question regarding any of the stuff done Heres a youtube video link showing some of the work done and all above pics too.

Hello browsers of the internet: I have a normal version of the S340, and I decided it was time to get myself a custom side panel with tempered glass instead of the horrible acrylic the case comes with. Here is how I did it and the end result. The mod still has a lot of room for improvement, but I'm fairly happy with the results. Materials used: -Tempered glass with a medium tint film, 43 x 44.5cm --> 150 mxn (8 USD from my local glass workshop) -Aluminum flat profile 38x3mm, 4m long --> 160 mxn (8.50 USD from my local metal workshop) -Aluminum L profile 12x12mm, 5m long, 1mm thick --> 100mxn (5.30 USD) -Aluminum C profile 0.9x0.9mm, 5m long, 1mm thick --> 120mxn (6.40 USD) -Small tube of resistol 5000 (high strength contact glue) --> 60mxn (3.20 USD) -Small tube of sealing silicone --> 80mxn (4.25 USD) Grand total: 35.65 USD + a bunch of unused aluminum and adhesives Tools: -Metal hacksaw with handle -A couple of vise grips -Spatula (to spread the adhesives) -Metal files -4mm drill bit and drill Build Process: This build is very simple and can be completed in a couple of hours. The only lengthy bit, is waiting for the adhesives to fully cure in order to proceed. First off, cut the flat aluminum profile into 2 lengths of 43cm and 2 more lengths of 37cm. These 4 bits will make the frame to which the glass panel will be attached. Next up, cut 30cm of the C shaped profile, this will handle most of the weight of the side panel so that it can rest on the bottom of the case structure. Finally, cut the L- shaped profile to get a length of 44.5cm. This one will be attached to the back of the panel and will hold everything in place with thumbscrews. I recommend you approximate the distances with a couple of mm to spare and then file the pieces down to the correct lengths. Its easier to remove material than to add it! With all of the cutting done, attach all of the flat profiles to the glass panel using the sealing silicone. first, clean both the glass and the aluminum, then apply a seam of silicone to the aluminum and spread it with the spatula. Finally place the aluminum on the glass. Rinse and repeat for all 4 pieces and use small clamps to hold them in place for 24 hours. Next up, focus on the bottom part of the panel and make a mark 9mm over the lower edge. Attach the C shaped profile on this mark using the contact adhesive. Make sure you read and follow the instructions for your adhesive, since this bond will be supporting most of the weight of the structure. Let it cure for as long as needed. Grab the L profile and make 2 holes 44mm from the edges. Attach this piece to the back of the side panel and let the glue cure. Congrats! the build is done! Let me know what you think (aside from wonky) and please share any improvements you come up with. Thanks for reading!

Hello guys. I am planning to get a new mid tower case. I am between 3-4 cases but i really don't know which one to go. So i am gonna need your help to help me choose The ones i am thinking are the S340 elite, P400 TG, Enthoo Pro M TG and the Corsair 400C. As you can see, i love the glass panel so i have decided to choose one of these 4. Although, if you have any recommendation for anything else, hit it on the table!! I would love some explanation, and not based on apprearance (since taste differs ofc) Sorry for the long post. Thank you in advance!

So a work buddy of mine made me paranoid because I didn't recall actually put in standoff screws for the motherboard so that the motherboard isnt directly touching the case. But i recalled seeing 6 nubs in the case with a big one in the center....and i had to line the motherboard perfectly with them to get the damm thing in. Sonim good right? Like i have the proper standoffs (spacer screws)? Pic related as its what my case lookedlike outbof the box

I'm so excited, it's just as good as I thought it would be! The s340 looks great and this design only helps it in my opinion. Might be a bit much for some people, though. I'm definitely going to be selling that mac behind the case to fund watercooling it. Also, I'm not sure where to post this just because it's not a question or a comparison, so I hope this is in the right place.

Hello, I've been conducting some research into the front panel connectors of the NZXT S340 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case, see here and installing them onto the MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON, see here. Looking at both the manuals of the S340 and Z270 I'm confused about some of the connectors whether they're supposed to be positive or negative. This is the diagram of the Z270 motherboard: This is the diagram of the S340 case: Looking at the Z270 connector 2 (+) and 4 (-) Power LED these match up to the diagram of the S340 case. The Power Switch connector also matches to the diagram of the S340. However, the HDD LED doesn't match up. On the S340 it doesn't indicate which is positive or negative. Am I right in thinking it doesn't matter which orientation this connector connects to the motherboard or is there an indication on the connector itself? Thanks for viewing and commenting on the thread.

Hey there Linus fans, Long time listener, first time poster. Been putting together PCs for fun since middle school (25 y/o now), but this is my first above entry level gaming PC (I guess). My past few builds have been named NAOMI, which is just an acronym for Non-Autonomous Operating Manual Interface (a name I used for an OS in a sci-fi short story I wrote a few years back). Anyway, enough exposition, here's some specs: -NZXT S340 mid tower -Asus 970 Pro Gaming Aura -2x MSi R9 380 2G -FX-6300 Black (OC'd to 4.4Ghz) -250gb Samsung 850 evo -1tb WD blue -EVGA 850BQ PSU (ThermalTake Smart650 in pictures, but I sold it when I bought the second GPU) -Zalman CNPS9900max red CPU cooler -And as of next Monday, 16gb of DDR3 1600 Kingston Fury RAM (currently just some cheap no name 1333 DDR3 I had) This was definitely on a budget. The drives were swapped over from NAOMI II as was the CPU which I plan to upgrade when it stops working just fine for me. The CPU cooler was used, as was the RAM I currently have. Two of the fans are stock, and the other two are cheapo red LED fans I had laying around. The case was refurbished from NZXT. The PSU, Mobo and GPUs were really the only NIB parts in this build. It was a tough choice between going single GPU (like a new GTX1080 or RX480) or Crossfire/SLi. But, honestly in the end I went Crossfire for two reasons. The deal I found on the cards was impossible to pass up, and I love the asthetics. Fun fact: The side window on the S340 scratches if you even so much as breathe on it, so I've already had NZXT send me a replacement but if it does it again I'm going to have glass custom fit (should be a fun future project). Anyway, enjoy some pics.

Hi guys, this is my first post (and PC build for that matter) so please excuse my mistakes. So here's the deal, I'm planning on building a PC using the s340 (red/black), I've decided to go with an AIO watercooler (Corsair H100iv2), which would go in the front of course, and then two case fans (CM Jetflos) in the remaining top and rear fan slots. Now I would like to have positive pressure ideally, however with the two fans on the rad being 75 or so CFM (the actual flow is probably lower as it has to push air through the rad) and the two other case fans being 95 CFM that would create a negative pressure situation if I'm not mistaken. Now this is where I need your expertise, I've thought about having the top case fan be intake as well so the the radiator fans would be intake, the top fan would be intake, and the rear fan would be exhaust. Now is this too much positive pressure or could it work? Open to all suggestions and thank you for taking the time to read my wordy question. Parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/xM9JkT
