Specs: GPU, Amd Radeon rx 6600 ASRock challenger Mother board, B650m aorus elite ax CPU, ryzen 7000 RAM, Flare x5 ddr5, 16 gb (X4) PSU, Corsair rm750e Details: When first building the computer everything was going well, the out of case test was successful, it booted to bios and everything was detected, after test conclusion I put it in the case, attached a couple extra fans, after everything was set up the red CPU indicator light is now on (previously it was not, no OS has been assigned or used for the computer, brand new parts) I have tried reseating CPU, I analysed the pins, none of which are bent, there is an even spread of the correct amount of thermal paste on the CPU itself, none has touched any of the pins. I have removed three of the ram sticks and have kept one at the farthest edge away from the CPU itself, the PSU works fine, the fans are all working as they should, I don't know what to do.

Hi all, I recently switched from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. It may be important to note that I initially upgraded from a 3600 & RTX 3070 to a 5800X3D and 7900 XT, and was running a stress test with Prime95 & Furmark at once on a 750W PSU. The computer immediately shut down, so I upgraded to a 1000W PSU and don't have this issue anymore. They both run fine at the same time (could this have damaged by CPU/motherboard causing this issue?). I was idling fine on the 3600 around 35 C, but this 5800 idles around 65-70 C. I've asked around on Reddit and other forums and everyone seems to agree that these temps are way too high. From what other people post, I should be seeing around 30 to 40 C idling (when I say "idle", I mean with Discord, Steam, and HWiNFO open at once). I've tried the following: Disabled A-XMP in my BIOS (made no difference, so I turned it back on) Updated my BIOS Reset CMOS Swapped out the kryosheet I re-used from my 3600 for a new one Changing the cooler from a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 to a DeepCool Assassin IV Changing from a kryosheet to thermal paste Nothing I've done has changed the temps and I'm completely lost at this point. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 32 GB (4x8 GB) DDR4 3200 RAM (3200 w/ A-XMP on) (if the brand matters it's TEAM Group TFORCE) MSI B450 Tomahawk (latest BIOS revision as of this post, not Tomahawk MAX) AMD 7900 XT Corsair RM1000E 1000W PSU I'm using HWiNFO to read my temps, and reading the Tctl/Tdie temp. Screenshot If anyone can point me in the right direction here as to what I'm doing wrong, I would GREATLY appreciate it. The only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling Windows, but I'm not sure how/why that would help.

Hi there! I saw the Geekbench tests for the Ryzen 7 8700g and 8600G and their test platform included DDR5-6400, the thing is both APUs are caped at DDR5-5200. So my question is, is there any benefit to using faster than DDR5-5200 in the system? Also, I know the APUs are not out yet so real-life tests are out, but are there some complete tests for the Ryzen platform and ram speed? Best

my daily desktop suddenly gave a black screen and all the fans went turbo. im using a amd ryzen 7 5700g in a gigabyte b450m ds3h, tired with and without my msi rtx 2060 and tried 1x16 and 2x16 ram, my usual is 2x, ive cleared the cmos twice, i get lights and fans but no screen or boot errors i can see. im going to install a b550m ds3h ac as i was planning to later this month to try and rule out more parts. i have ramand cpus that worked when removed i can use to test aswell. when this issue arose i also lost the ability to force a hard reset via power button. anything helps

Budget (including currency): $1500 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Programming with Unity and VS Code, 3D modeling with blender, Gaming at 1080p, and VR Gaming, and Schoolwork with Chrome Some games I’d be playing: Half-Life Alyx Portal 2 Portal 2, in VR! Spider-Man: Miles Morales R6 Minecraft with Shaders Other details: I’ll be running games at 165hz and 1080p. I plan to soon get another monitor, I currently have only the one. The VR headset I have is the Quest 2. I have a current part list, and I was told that intel is better for programming. So I wanted to check another forum, just to see. (For reference, the person on the PCPartPicker forum changed the R7 with an i7-13000K)

Not really all that knowledgable or update to date on this stuff anymore. I have already got a 6800 and the PS, what CPU would be the better pairing? I was looking for around $300 and the 7600x is currently slight cheaper than the 5800x. This was the current build plan https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/fRtRwg

Hello everyone, im in the process of buying parts for a new pc from scratch. I have pretty much decided on everything but i am unsure which RAM would be the best for my build. Im going for a AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and my mainboard is going to be the MSI MPG B650I EDGE WIFI AM5 DDR5 Mini ITX. I have two specific rams in mind. G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5 5600 CL28 F5-5600J2834F32GX2-TZ5RS Silver and G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5 6000 CL30-40-40-96 1.40V (AMD Expo) F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR I have some questions regarding which one would be better and why exactly. Basically one is 5600mhz and CL28 while the other has more mhz with 6000mhz and a slower CL30. I have read multiple times that 6000mhz CL30 is supposed to be the sweetspot for ryzen7000 for some reason. But i never saw an explanation why exactly that is. Other information i saw was that the CPU prefers lower CL. So what has more weight here? Another thing, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D officially only seems to support speeds up to 5200mhz. What would this mean pratically? Does that mean that no matter which of these RAM i buy that they will run at 5200mhz anyway? Or can i actually use higher mhz with this CPU? Also the CL30 ram supports amd expo while the CL28 does not. Is this of any relevance for me? I hope you guys can help me with these questions. Thank you very much in advance

Ok: most of this build is from April ‘23. - gigabyte x570s Aero G AM4 - ryzen 5700x with Coolermaster hyper212 cooler - 4x 16gb Corsair Vengeance 4 ddr4 - msi 750w power - attached to an APCCS650 ups with new battery. - only the sapphire nitro rx480 is old, as I was trying to keep costs down as low as possible machine has run really well until about 2 weeks ago, when the machine refused to wake from sleep. I managed to restore it by stripping down, q-flash with new bios (sept-23) and it came back to life. same thing happened again last night - refused to wake from sleep. The RGB fan won’t light but the board does power up and get stuck at RAM check. last time I did try cycling through 1 ram stick at a time to restore base service but it would not fire up. im not keen to redo the bios flash process as that feels like it’s the wrong place. Before I dive into resetting cmos and trying again…. How would others approach?

Hello my friends I hope that someone of you could help me. So I build my new rig about 3 weeks ago. The problem I have at the moment is that my ryzen 7 7800x3d seems to not clock down to a lower cpu clock if the pc is in idle. It stays at around 4.2 ghz, so bascily the baseclcok of the cpu. This data is accourding to task manger and hwinfo. The strange thing is that ryzen master on the other hand says that my cpu is clocking down in idle So are all other programs giving me wrong data or is ryzen master not right. In gaming the cpu is boosting just find to 5.0 ghz so it's just the idle clock that I'm worried about. The rest of the part are mainboard msi mpg b650 carbon wifi cooler: be quit pure loop 240 aio gpu is for the gtx 1060 from my old rig.

I have a laptop with a Core i5 1240P processor. When loading the processor itself without the graphics card that is integrated in the processor, the temperature on one core reaches 91 degrees and on the other cores it reaches 80-70 degrees, why such a difference. And it seems to me that 91 degrees is too much and the processor may degrade. Although the manufacturer states that the maximum temperature can be 105 degrees. Maybe do undervolting? But how to do it from the BIOS level and not in Windows. In CPU-Z, tests: Core i5 1240P Multi Core: 5200 points Single Core: 670 points My Ryzen 7 3700X which is in the desktop computer: Multi Core: 5700 points Single Core: 520 points It's amazing how much power the 1240P has on 1 core than the 3700X and a little less on all cores, but it only consumes 28W while the 3700X consumes 85W. But something doesn't seem right to me and it's about the test in the Aida64 cpu qween program. The 3700X reaches 100,000 points while the 1240P reaches 67,000 points but the program pops up a message in the case of 1240P that virtualization is enabled and may interfere with the test, but why? It's also enabled on the 3700X and it's fine. I need virtualization for virtual machines, for example in VirtualBox. Does virtualization take away CPU power? So it's probably not entirely clear how much power 1240P has - you would have to take the same video, for example in Premiere Pro, render on the processor itself and unpack the RAR archive, then you would know which one is more powerful.

I bought a 5800x3d and installed it but get no display and the CPU led on my motherboard is glowing white my old 3700x won't work either anymore and I've already tried all the clear CMOS steps and replugging stuff , different ram etc I'm not sure witch bios version I'm running but it should be fairly recent and if nothing else my old CPU should work I've got the latest version on a usb stick and tryed that aswell but nothing GPU is getting power but I get no keyboard power ?

Two days ago I decided to reinstall windows 10, after which problems with the processor began. At first, the voltage jumped, but this problem was solved by updating the bios. Then the problem of heating the processor was revealed. During a stress test under 100% load, the sensors show 80 degrees, and the temperature increase is very rapid, although when you touch the radiator with your hand, it is barely warm as always I planned all the solutions to the problem, installed different versions of Windows, started from a live cd, checked the temperature with all possible programs, updated all possible drivers, discussed the problem with friends, tried to solve it with them. I attach stress test graphs before the update and after the processor was not overclocked in the photo where the temperature is 55,the thermal paste was dried up and ineffective, now, with new tests, the thermal paste is new, tested for quality according to the temperature of the motherboard, it can be judged that the processor is not actually heated specs: r7 3700x gigabite 2070s 8 gb AsRock b5550m pro4 psu 700w

Budget (including currency): 1500usd Country: usa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: primarily gaming. Will use it for a but of solid edge, MATLAB, coding, streaming/recording gameplay. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Just watched the new video on PC build help. I'm building a gaming PC after almost 10 years. Hoping to grab microcentre deals and buy this week. What do you folks think? Should I go for 7900XT or 7800XT? I already have a gigabyte m27q 1440p monitor, HP gaming mouse and a steelseries apex keyboard. Currently I game on an Asus gl502vs gaming laptop with nvidia 1070. I play mostly single player games, like witcher, dragon age, mass effect, cities skylines, plague, etc. Might do a bit of Solid Edge, Matlab and coding. But primarily gaming. Looking forward to play cyberpunk, control, starfield, plague tale, anno (huge backlog). I'm going with AMD, because M27Q offers AMDSync Premium. So, I've installed my new Ryzen 7 5800X recently and realized through several benchmarking tests to see how it compares to my old 3800X and the difference was very marginal. Turns out that the new processor is only running at a maximum 4.2GHz vs what it could achieve at 4.7Ghz. I've looked online for some solutions like enabling Precision Boost Overdrive and such and none so far have seemed to work. Also, Windows 11 task manager, my Asus motherboard BIOS, and some CPU information software also shows that the maximum speed it can achieve is only 4.2GHz. What can I do to fix this issue?

I really need help on this one since I need the PC for my work The screenshot was before updating the bios when all worked as usual It won't post not even to the BIOS

Hello, I just upgraded from a 2600x to a 5800x Amd Ryzen Cpu. I seem to hit 90 degree quite quick when playing regular games and it going over 80 at 40% load. I have tried to configure the bios a little but with no guidance I am having an issue. The 7800x lowest temp is 34 that I have been able to achieve. at idle anything from 34-40 with the Watt being at 30 - 40 watts. Loading up different games, and even playing the load varies from 30 - 50% giving the temp at 83 degrees. which seems a little to high for me? I know the highest run temp at this cpu is 90 but it still seems so odd. I just got the MSI MAG CoreLiquid 360R V2 water cooler for the CPU because I got the new cpu yesterday when writing this. The 360R V2 gives me a top temps at 43 with the 2600x with a load of 100%. and lowest temps at 23 degree. I hope you guys understand my "consern" Is there anyone with bios settings that I could "copy"? Hello, I recently bought a new pewbuilt pc, but for some reason my processor is not booting properly. I tried PBO through bios, also through AMD Master, I tried updating bios, but still when I turn on benchmark (specifically 3dmark - fire strike) the processor speed remains locked at 3,6ghz. This value is also shown by cpu-z under load, it is also listed in the bios. At load the processor does not boost to 4.6ghz as it should. Please advise, I have tried everything I could find on the internet but unfortunately without success motherboard TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II BIOS v. 3202, CPU cooler: Endorfy Fera 5, PC case SXT K106, GPU GAINWARD GeForce RTX 3070 Phoenix, RAM Kingston Fury, 32gb @ 3200 mhz Im also including benchmark from cpu-z, during 10 min stress test the temperatures did not go above 70 celsius. i've tried using older bios, factory reset, clear cmos, but the CPU is stuck @ 3.6 GHZ idle or under load. P.S. I have never been interested in clocking, so if I am writing nonsense, I will be glad if you correct me and try to advise. thanks a lot laso english is not my first language, please excuse any mistakes

I currently run a ryzen 7 4750 g pro with a 6700XT and was wondering if upgrading to a 5000 series would benefit me enough to justify the pricetag of a newer chip, since i have a b550 with PCie 4.0 available i was wondering what would be the real world performance jump.

Hi After 6 years is finally time to retire my i7 7700. Therefore i'm in the market for a new CPU. My use-case will be heavy motion design and editing as well as sometimes Blender. Currently i'm running an i7 7700 with a GTX 1060 6GB that i'm planning to still at least a couple of years more. Cooler is a Scyte fuma 2 and PSU is a smart se, that i definetly have to repleace. My budget ranges between 300 to 350 euros. In this price range i've found 2 CPUs that might fit: Ryzen 7 7700x and Ryzen 9 5900x, currenty both at roughly 300 euros. now my questions Is it better to have 4 more threads or to have 5.0 and DDR5? Eventually i will have to buy new ram anyway because my current PC will go to my dad, expect the GPU. Is it more beneficial to have 4 more threads or to have 5.0? Thanks
