I have a ryzen 5 3600 cpu and i was wondering if upgrading to a ryzen 7 5700x was worth it. Could I get better gaming performance with 2 more cores, 4 more threads and a higher boost clock?

I have tried overclocking my ryzen 5 3600 cpu to see if any difference would appear. But I have now stopped the overclocking and I lost about 60fps on my average of 120fps for warzone 2.0. In other games like CS:GO, Valorant and Apex legends, the frames have not changed. Could it be the season change in Modern warfare 2 and warzone 2, that are making my cpu really slow? My setup: Cpu: ryzen 5 3600 Gpu: Rx 6600 xt Motherboard: Asus prime B550m A wifi ii Ram: Kingston fury 2x8Gb cl16 3200mhz(Stuck at 2400mhz, don’t know how to tweek it) Psu: 550w 80+bronze Cpu cooler: Cooler master ml240l

So in my country they retail about same price, I know that b550 offers higher rams speeds and pcie4 but steel legend looks fancier and has more ports. Which one to choose? are there any more other differences?

So I recently replaced my gtx1060 3gb with a rx5700xt and have run into a issue and would like some outside input as I am not extremely knowledgeable in computers. The problem is that when I play videogames the computer turns off with no warning I have measured the GPU and CPU temp and they are nowhere near the turn off point the power supply is more than enough to sustain the system. The pc need about 400w to run and I got a 550w psu but I still added 3 more fans to the case to improve airflow thinking it is a cooling issue but the issue has continued. Before replacing the GPU I had no problems so now I am thinking it might be faulty power supply or bad and driver's but heard the new drivers fixed the majority of the issues or psu is not sufficient for new gpu. Hello all. So I decided for a change and bought new components for my pc. My original build is: MSI b350 gaming pro carbon motherboard Ryzen 5 1600x gtx 1050 ti 2400mhz ddr4 one ssd and one hdd The new parts I have bought are: Asus ROG b450-f motherboard Ryzen 5 3600 rtx 5700 xt 3200mhz ddr4 Also side-note, the only part I have not bought yet is the mobo b/c it’s out of stock, but if any of you guys have a better alternative than the one provided I’d gladly accept the recommendation :) So really my concern is, how do I go about safely upgrading the motherboard? I’m aware about dealing with the drivers on the GPU, but in regards to the mobo, do I need a fresh install of windows? If so, would that wipe all of my data? Such as pictures, game save data, mods, configurations, etc? I had originally planned on just flashing my bios on the b350 board, but I’m not extremely convinced running a beta version is the best choice, plus I wanted a new mobo anyway. I’m worried about screwing it all up just to upgrade my motherboard. So please let me know your guy’s advice. Thank you!

I recently built this system with Ryzen 5 3600 and MSI B450 Carbon PRO AC MB. I am running all the latest drivers for everything and bios is up to date. When I start up the system the CPU remains at its base speed no matter what and won't boost. I'm not running the stock cooler, I have an AIO and it keeps the CPU at cool temps. Funny thing is, when I go into AMD Ryzen master and do a reset CPU Parameters, CPU starts boosting immediately and everything goes back to normal. At this point if I restart the system, everything is still normal. However if I do a cold boot, I end up with same problem again. I have 32GB 3200 G-Skill Trident Ram and XMP is enabled. I can't think of what could be the reason Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi guys I have a Ryzen 5 3600 on a B450 Msi carbon with a stock cooler, I was thinking about buying an after market cpu cooler, like the cooler master 212 evo, because my cpu on "idleish" is on avg 50 degree celsius . One time(maybe while i was gaming)it spiked to 80 degrees and the software that i use to monitor my pc sent me a notification telling me that those temps can shorten the lifespan of my cpu... I was wondering what are the ideal CPU temperatures in idle and on stress? (PS: if you have any other budget options for cpu cooling feel free to suggest thank you so much)

Me and my friend recently bought parts to make a good PC for him. We have a Ryzen 3600, with 8Gb HyperX for RAM, a Seagate HD, a Kingston SSD and a GTX1660 on a ASUS B450-M Gaming. We put it all together and... Nothing. Just a Black screen. Okay, no panic. We knew that the 3rd Gen might not have been compatible with the motherboard straight out of the box. Fortunately I have a Ryzen 2400G (with 2x4Gb Team Group Dark Knight, no discrete graphics on a Gigabyte A320m-s2h). We do some tests firsts. Taking parts from his PC and putting them on mine: RAM and GPU are fine. After a BIOS update on my Gigabyte we confirm that the Ryzen 3600 is also working. We take my CPU and put on his motherboard. Can't access BIOS, it only gives us a black screen, but can install Windows. Installed Windows and ran it ok. Try to enter bios through Windows, but this motherboard apparently doesn't support that option. Then we do some playing around. We have 2 monitors and a TV, so we try to connect all of then, into every port available at least once (I had read of someone who only could see his bios when connected to a TV). Nothing. Every time, when we turn the PC on, we see ASUS logo, the text saying to press DEL or F2, and if we do press any or both, we see a Black Screen with nothing. Any ideas? Is there something 'protecting' the bios? A jumper we forgot to use? Or remove? Is it just plain defective?

Hi, I'm in panic mode because I bought a RAM which not Ryzen 3000 certified. It's the CMW16GX4M2C3200C16 v4.32 model. (C Die) Now I can return this product and have about 5 days left to do it but can someone verify if this RAM kit would work properly on Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite or MSI B550 A Pro with a R5 3600 or R7 3700X. I haven't bought the motherboard yet so there's that. (X570 Aorus Elite or Asus TUF Gaming x570 would get the job done too)

Budget (including currency): $1000-1200 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming like COD Warzone, League, Minecraft; Coding; watching YouTube/Netflix; listening to Spotify; possibly some video/photo-editing but very minimal Other details: Building my first PC, already have monitor and mouse, might get second monitor, OS will be Windows 10 ---------------------- This will be my first time building a PC, so I don't really know much about any of it at all. I've been reading into it only the past few days, so I appreciate any comments or suggestions! ---------------------- Here is what I have so far. I am pretty set on the Ryzen 3600, and so I want to build around that. Some of the parts I am more sure of, while others I just randomly chose: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/dsong98/saved/g6m9NG ---------------------- Some specific questions: Motherboard: I read the B550 series recently came out, and is it worth to check these out over the B450 series? Is my GPU overkill for what I'm going to use it for? Memory: I am leaning towards the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB, I see that the G.Skill Ripjaws is also very popular but I see that they are similar. Any thoughts as to which is better? Storage: I'm not sure if I should get one large SSD (like 1TB), or a smaller SSD(225 or 550GB) with an HDD(maybe 1TB). I know I am supposed to store my OS on the faster one, so the SSD, but what about my games and such. Would it be bad to put my games and other files on the HDD? Also, I have an old computer in my house that I want to try and take apart, I might be able to salvage the HDD from it. Would this even be viable to use? Cooler: I am concerned about AM4 compatibility. Amazon reviews are mixed about whether the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO has the mounting bracket. Any suggestions of other coolers, or perhaps good places to buy the Hyper 212 that does have the AM4 adapter? PSU: Any suggestions? All I really know is that I should get bronze or gold, according to online resources. I found this one (Corsair CXM 550 W) that has good reviews. I am not sure what type of monitor I have (stuck in my college dorm at the moment and waiting to get it shipped back to me). I understand that having a monitor that isn't up to par with my GPU is a waste, but does this matter a lot? I just remember the monitor was decent enough and was maybe 1080? I think I would be fine with that. Are there any parts here I could upgrade to get some RGB? I don't want to ton, but maybe on just like 1 or 2 items. I think the cooler or the GPU could have big lights for less money, or perhaps just the RAM? Thanks!!!!

Its been about 15 years since I built a computer and recently I decided to do it again and set a budget of £800 (that did not last long) and ended up paying just over £1000. I just finished a build with the intention of using it for photography, video editing and a little gaming on the side. Case: Corsair Carbide spec delta PSU: EVGA 750 BQ CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 MOBO: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite RAM: 32GB HyperX Fury 3200 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1660 6GB oc SSD: Sabrent Rocket Q 1TB M.2 This is all running stock with no plans to overclock but a couple of upgrades are in the works. So other than being ripped off on the price, how did I do? (I know the GPU mounting screws are missing in the picture, I did put them in after the pic was taken)

Its my first post to the forum, and its about an annoying situation with my pc. I built my desktop about a year ago, and now its having some issues. Basically when I turn it on it stays in a black screen and the CPU LED is on meaning a problem with the CPU however, the first time this happened I just unplugged everything even the PSU cables to every component and slowly plugged them back in and tried turning it on each time, for some reason when I had just the GPU, CPU, 1 stick of RAM and SSD it worked and I thought well its now fixed. A few days later its back on the same issue. I've read online it could be related to the CPU requiring more power and my PSU not giving it enough without the second cable of 4 pins to power the CPU. Anyway my build is: - Motherboard: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge Wifi - CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - GPU: MSI RTX 2060 - RAM: 16 GB (2x8) T-Force Delta DDR4 3000 - PSU: Nfortec Sagitta 750w 80 plus gold (Link to store where i got it from) - SSD: m.2 512 GB - HDD: 8 TB - OS: Windows 10 I believe the fault is with the power supply because the manual of the motherboard doesn't specifically indicate that the second cpu cable doesn't need to be plugged in, in fact it shows that it should be connected. If anyone could help me with this would be awesome. Should I just get a new power supply? And if yes, do you know about one with that 8+4 pins for the cpu connectors? Or any other ideas are welcome too. Thanks

CPU is running very hot all the time! While idling it is at 2V according to CPU-Z and at 70-80° C! Also, CPU-Z and RYZEN MASTER are reporting different Voltages? RYZEN master says its constantly pinned at 1,325? When booting the system, it has died twice, and runs at up to 99° C?! It sounds absolutely absurd? Also, when stress testing with the RYZEN MASTER it only came up to 90° C which I find even stranger? What could be the problem? I have tried: updating BIOS and drivers, reseating the cooler. Also, the PC.

I am currently looking to get 16GB of RAM. I am debating between: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 & G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16. The Corsair is like $15 cheaper, although it is a little slower. Looking at latency: 16/3200*2000 = 10ns 16/3600*2000 = 8.9 ns Will this even be noticeable? I feel like it won't matter too much, but reading online has convinced me that with Ryzen, this difference can be noticeable. Thoughts?

I saw that the Tomahawk Max Mobo is compatible with up to like 2.933 MHz and can be clocked up to 3.466 MHz via overclocking. I don't even know if I will be overclocking, but will getting 3200mhz RAM be fine, even if it is over this limit? I think I might be a little short of a full understanding here. From reading different sources, people are saying that 3600mhz with CL16 is the best, although I haven't seen it on PCPartPicker. But even if I did find it, would getting 3600 be too much, as it seems to be over the Tomahawk compatibility upper limit? What I can find is 3600mhz with CL18, but when plugging it into the equation for finding the latency (CAS Latency/Clock Speed) * 2000: -> 18/3600*2000 = 10ns -> 16/3200*2000 = 10ns Which means that 3600mhz CL18 is the same as 3200mhz CL16? Any advice or information to help me bridge the knowledge gap is appreciated!
