After lots of research, I still can't decide what CPU is better for me. I'm stuck between the Ryzen 5 5500 and the Intel i3 12100f. I want to play video games on maximum graphics (note I don't play FPS games, so framerate is still ideal even around 40 or 50) as well as do video editing, Photoshop, and Blender. I would prefer AMD, because I can't find much motherboards that have Wi-Fi. So if the i3 is better, it would also be wonderful if you could provide the name of a good budget motherboard (with Wi-Fi) that supports the CPU. I still have plenty of time before I make my choice, so this isn't time sensitive. Thanks so much for helping!

Hi there everyone. Videographer/filmmaker in Durban South Africa. Been in the videography space since 2018 but fully took it up last year. My rig is as follows: CPU: i5 8600K (never been overclocked) GPU: AMD Radeon RX580 (ASUS Strix edition) 8GB MOBO: ASUS B360 Prime 2TB Hikvision [SATA SSD] 11TB of HDD storage (2x 4TB and 1 3TB) 500w PSU 32GB DDR4 RAM (2666 Mhz) It's served me quite well up to this point, Although I do find only 6 cores and 6 threads has limited me. I noticed this since my boss at the agency in which I work upgraded to an i9 10850k. This was specifically to edit RED footage for an advert that we've been commissioned to do. To say I was impressed was an understatement. That processor scrubs through the 6K timeline lik absolute butter. Coupled with the GTX 1660 in the box it does quite a respectable job. I've finished my stint in the office and am now contracted to go on a documentary shoot which will see me earn a healthy sum for 16 days on the road. I was thinking of upgrading my MOBO and CPU to a Ryzen 9 3900XT or 3900XT (strangely the latter version seems to be cheaper on e-bay, not sure why though). I'm not even thinking of a GPU since I think the RX580 has enough virtual RAM to make do on the editing rig. I don't even play games (my friends all roast me for this since I have the perfect gaming CPU), as I'm only interested in productivity and specifically editing. I use most of the Adobe suite (Premiere, Audition, Photoshop,After Effects), but since I'm a Fujifilm shooter I stricty use Capture One instead of Lightroom. SO my main concern is, if I can't make budget for the Ryzen CPU with the MOBO (preferably an x570 motherboard), is the 10850K (with a new MOBO of course) still a respectable upgrade option for my needs? Your thoughts/opinons are most welcomed.

I have all the settings set to the lowest option possible. Still I only get like 50-70 fps ingame and I experience a lot of LAG / Freeze on regular basis when in fights / hectic situations. I own a 144 hz Monitor and thus this unused Monitor potential in combination with the lag/freeze is very frustrating to me. I have overclocked my 1060 with the help of MSI Afterburner (+35% Core Voltage; Power and Temp. Limitsliders to max; Core Clock +190 Mhz; Memory +60 MHZ; Fan on Auto). When looking into workload for GPU/CPU when ingame, I constantly experience 99-100% CPU load while the GPU stays at 70-80% load. Thus i came to the conclusion that my CPU is heavily bottle-necking my Performance. I wish to upgrade my Setup for Christmas and i have a budget of around 300-400€ (at absolute max 450€). My plan was to initially go for Intel again because I do not want to upgrade the Ram to DDR4 (would have to buy new Ram then which decreases the Budget for the other components). Many friends have told me to go for Ryzen instead because of the greater Value/Performance for the same money. Now im confused and I can´t decide what to go for. 1. Option: stay with Intel get a 9600k + some Z Chipset Motherboard and try to overclock it 2. Option get a Ryzen get new MB get new RAM If you have a better upgrade solution please tell me! She wants to get back into gaming so I am building me a new gaming PC and changing my current gaming in to a streaming. Below are both builds, the Ryzen is the old Gaming (bought in June of 2021), Intel is the new gaming. What do we think about both builds? The fact that the 3080 that I currently have in my old PC is listed at $200 more than the 4070 TI is just WILD to me.

What's up nerds o7 So my buddy wants me to build him a new rig and gave me a $5k budget. He's primarily an OW streamer and professional, and primary concern is FPS while streaming and recording, but also building the most overkill system we can. Originally I was going with the TR 1950x, however, we are open to basically any combination as long as it is maximizing performance while playing games at 1080p 144+ fps while recording and streaming. Coffee Lake is definitely on the consideration list as well, just has to meet the above criteria. A little background: • Custom loop cooling - I'll be OCing the crap out of whatever we get • 1080ti - not going SLI because SLI is stupid • 64GB Trident Z RGB • 2x 960 Pros • 8TB of HDD storage • All the stupid lights I can stuff into the stupid case. If you guys have suggestions it'd be much appreciated! Again, price isn't an issue, and if anyone has actual benchmarks for the different CPUs that'd also be awesome. edlt: can't have two computers, not enough room at the team house

Hello, I just simply wanted to ask, what makes the Ryzen chips better than most Intel chips?

I7 7700 non k B250 mobo 16gb ddr4 2400mhz Im considering a Ryzen upgrade so that I have a cpu that I can play with.Overclocking etc. What Ryzen would be a upgrade to the i7 7700 or equivalent (because I can overclock it) Im considering moving to Ryzen because in SA is very decebtly price.
