So, first off I'm swiss, 14 and I don't speak English very well so please excuse that. I wanna build my first own PC. Right now I use a prebuilt Acer Predator G3-605 with an Intel i7 4770 and I upgraded it like around 1 year ago with a GTX 970. I think upgrading is not really an option because I know nothing about the PC and can't seem to find any information about my Motherboard etc. I'll probably use it as a server or something, not sure yet. I've been saving for some time now and have around 2000.- (CHF) for my PC Build. Ryzen caught my attention because I wanna use my PC for streaming, 4K video and photo Editing and Gaming. https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZZqJ2R this is the build I made. What do you guys think, do you have any advice or something you would change? I know you are probably gonna tell me that Ryzen is bad for 1080p gaming or that a GTX 1080Ti is overkill for 1080p gaming. But I actually wanna upgrade my monitor to 1440p and 4K for editing and gaming, so I think this build is the best way to go for the next 4-6 years right? If there's anything you would change or you don't like about it feel free to tell me. I'm open-minded and I know it can't be perfect because it is my first build I ever made.

I.Basic information about my build: 1. Budget & Location Location: Germany (country in Europe ) Budget: ~3000€ ~ 3300$US ~ 4450$AUD ~ 4500$CAD 2. Aim The goal is to build a really nice white PC, which will be mainly used for gaming and occasional live-streaming and very basic photo/video editing. I would like to play a all the games, which means I want my PC to run the newest games as well as my old ones I am currently playing. 3. Monitors I currently have decent 1080p monitor laying around, but I would love to upgrade to a 1440p 144Hz monitor (Asus PG278QR maybe?) and run both of them at the same time. 4. Peripherals I have a good mouse, keyboard, headset, microphone, mousepad. Nothing i needed I also do not need a optical drive. 5.Why? Simply because I am currently running a laptop which thermal throttling itself as soon as I am trying to play games. I even downclocked it to avoid it, but this obviously lead to less performance. It also only has a GT740M, which literally s****. II. Details about what I have planned so far + a ton of questions ****III. Little Update for everyone**** Thanks to everyone, I figured out pretty much everything I want to get for my build except the case. The cases I am looking at currently are: NZXT S340 Elite (white of course) In Win 303c (the new, white one) Still have not found the perfect case, so here is what I am looking for: - as much as white as possible - big window side panel - psu cover - 240mm radiator compatible - 2 or more SSD mounting brackets in the case itself to show them of (like the S340 Elite) Again thank you for helping and/or stopping by! Thank you to everyone who spend time reading this and especially to everyone who helps me getting the right components together for my first PC build. I apologize for: - my mediocre English skills. - the incredible amount of questions. - me being so incredibly good looking. :3

This is basically my first gaming build or any other build tbh. It's basically the first PC I'll be getting. No it's not like don't know anything about 'em, I have been using an ultra book for 5 years or so, anyways I've been waiting for this a long time! So hey fellas! This is my first post here too (sorry if I sound like a excited 12 year old girl, but I am pretty excited!) I did all the research alone and chose the parts without anyone telling me about 'em. In the end thought to myself I just can't go with everything without consulting with other people you know? I hate to admit that most of the people around me are too.. let's say primitive. To them a 1200$ PC is just unimaginable and most of them use 150-200$ PC (yeah I ain't kidding). So you can guess how difficult it is for me to get all these parts that I want. Even amazon doesn't ship to where I am. I have to use third party companies that were just recently launched to bring items from USA. Yes, which means for the support of the products I'll be getting next to none I guess. Either way it's a bargain I'm willing to take. Let's just get on with. Here's my build's permalink - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RszqCy Okay I'll be commenting on the different parts and why I chose them now; The CPU - First all I always try not to be a Bandwagon. I understand people choosing the same thing because it's good not just because everyone is buying it. I believe if it's going to be something that I'm gonna own for myself, gonna make with my own hands and most of all gonna use my money to buy something? It has to be something out of the ordinary. Ryzen has broken records and it has long since broken my sleep and made a point saying *I'm here to stay*. So yeap, I know it's childish yeap :3 CPU Cooler - First of all I don't like things that will keep me on the edge and one day fail and I'd be in deep sh*t for it. I idolize the phrase "Plug & Play". Also for budget reasons I choose the CR R1 and also because it looks badass unlike the ugly a** Noctua meh. The Mobo - I know most of you might say "If you're towards a budget set up why go for a x370?" Well, it's obvious that in future I'd like to upgrade and use two cards with Nvidia SLI. I did at first go for the B350 edition but to me it was only 20$ difference so, I basically went "Why not?" and decided on the x370. RAM - Well.. I don't know. WHAT RAM SHOULD I GET FOR MY RYZEN 5!? I simply got the answer from reddit *A ram with higher Mhz*. Is that all I need? Odd and pricey argh (source - https://community.amd.com/community/gaming/blog/2017/03/14/tips-for-building-a-better-amd-ryzen-system) SSD m.2 - Yeah. Buying a 1000+$ Rig why compromise on speed? That's what I thought when I chose it that is SSHD - I already have a SSD then why also a SSHD you ask? Well I was going to buy WD 1TB Black but then I realized the difference was only 10$. So it hit me, *Why not?*. GPU - Okay EVGA is the one to go for I know everyone in Reddit seems to idolize them I too would've gone for the same but didn't because Amazon is still selling the 1070s without any thermal padding and as I have mentioned above that I will not be getting any support most likely and thus I chose not to take a risk and just go for something that's reputable and reliable and the answer was Zotac. (BTW I really hate the yellow accent like wtf mate?) Case - Will this really be a question? I simply saw a review of it and fell in, love haven't looked the other way since. (source - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moJbyLbyGFA) PSU - Because jonnyguru said so. Although I did calculate on the coolermasters watt calculator page and I had a recommendation of 550W. So when Checking amazon I noticed that the price for the 550W was 79.99, for the 650W was 135$ and very oddly enough for the 750W it was only 89.99$ and by now you know how I chose it :3 yeap "Why not?". Will this effect my PC or will this 10$ be a good investment? I have plans for upgrading my rig in the far future with whatever I start with. Monitor - This monitor is weirdly overpriced in Amazon for some reason. Luckily after I snooped around the retail shops here I found the exact same monitor but at only 160$ compared to Amazon that's 60$ less! Case Fans - I'll be adding Dual Thermaltake CL-F048-PL14RE-A RIING 140mm Red LED HSP on the top side for exhaust, I included this here because pcpartpicker.com doesn't seem to have them in their list and this unique cheap yet cool 120mm fan for the rear exhaust (source - https://www.amazon.com/Asiahorse-Eclipse-MIRAGE-Cooling-Compute/dp/B06XYTD6T6/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1508099818&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=asianhorse%2Bpwm%2B120mm&th=1) As you can see even thought it's a budget friendly approach I'm not willing to sacrifice performance any time that being said I'd really love to squeeze some extra cash out of this so that I'd be still able to buy a headphone or invest in a cooler desk for this beast~ Well that kind of wraps up everything I wanted to say and comment on. I hope people will have the patience to read through 'em and help me out, for that I'll really appreciate it TIA :')

Hi! I want to build my second PC with SUPER COOL PARTS that does not ruin my wallet... I want your thoughts of it and if there is a way to improve it without surpassing my 1500 budget.. these are the parts that I want to use: Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 C16 2x8GB CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070S (Super) SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe PCIe M.2 250GB HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB (2016) according to userbenchamark site this build will be out of this world, but as a noob in this hobby I like second opinions..

My PC seems to have got a poltergeist. Any Ghostbusters here? My configuration is under my profile, but I'll also add it here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zFdH7zP_pc6SdkQQ-hEYbVBAdGG9ihRlqzYBg9vvAWc/edit?usp=sharing so you can find it faster. Some parts are old, but most are under 3-4 years, the platform some 6 months, and some parts (like the SSD-s) are under a month. The OS is from the clean install I did when upgrading to Ryzen last December, cloned it from a 120GB SSD to the new one before Easter. Problems started happening a few weeks ago (maybe a month). At first really rare, but the issues started increasing and now they happen often. 1st issues noticed (main issues!) - the PC would enter a hibernation/sleep "like" state with no image on the display and not reacting to input. After hitting the reset switch it would boot, and when it happens holding the power switch also does shut down the machine. On next boot, the mouse would stop working and has to be re-plugged to work. I thought it to be AsMedia USB drivers (to be blunt, not a fan of the company, had issues with those on any board using then), but with different driver versions, nothing changed. One time (I think the first time it happened), BlueScreenView showed a ntoskrnl BSOD after the next reboot, but that was only that one time. This issue happens unrelated to the PC utilization; happens when booting into Windows, when resuming from standby (or whatever it's called when you take Win10 sleep and remove hibernation), when IDLE or while surfing. 2nd issue noticed (after one of the "resets") - Chkdsk and SFC fixed something. Happened only once. DISM clean, SFC fine. I believe it to be related to the forced shutdown, not a sign of the issue. 3rd issue - the Samsung F3 disk had 1 sector marked for reallocation (for a long time), a few weeks back it showed 270 bad sectors and 273 marked sectors. A few days later (since I did not have the time to remove the drive) the health returned to 100% and S.M.A.R.T. shows no bad sectors nor marked sectors. Since the first marked sector, the drive was emptied and used only for unimportant stuff. Everything from/on the drive works. The drive is some 10 years old. I might remove it to see if the main issue is somehow related to this. 4th issue - the last time I ran Prime95 Blend the "Core 11" stopped after an error (got 0.5 when it should have got 0.4). The CPU was never overclocked (I didn't have time to do it and hardly any need to do it). Temperatures (with the fans set to "Quiet) did not exceed 62°C so it wasn't overheating. Ran Passmark Memtest86 after that and the 4 complete passes passed without issues (with the 3200MHz XMP). This was last weekend, I did not have time to re-run Prime95 again, but I did not change anything that could affect the 4th issue, except updating the bios from f31 to f40 (latest). [What can I say, updating the BIOS might solve the issues but the issues cause the PC to crash so there's a huge risk in updating. Not a nice feeling accepting the risk.] 5th issue (strongly related to the 1st issues) - the last thing I did (last night) was cleaning the old drivers (uninstall + DDU) and installing the latest chipset and GPU drivers from AMD. After the procedure, the PC not only crashes (the 1st issue) but also completely FREEZES. The "freeze" like you've set a wallpaper on the screen and disconnected the peripherals. Image stuck, nothing reacts. This time, WhoCrashed reads the DUMP files and shows an AMD related BSOD, atikmpag.sys. So the freezes aren't, they're BSOD-s. I let Windows update to 1903 last night. Will check if it did something that could mitigate the issue(s). What I might/will do next (not necessarily in that order): - Check if the update to 1903 helped. No high hopes though. - Clean the GPU and replace the paste (the card is 3,5 years old, max temps don't go over 75°C but the paste has never been changed). Don't think it's actually needed. - Remove the Samsung F3 drive and maybe the WD drives (those were added two months ago, used drives with a clean S.M.A.R.T. status). - Remove all the drives and clean install Windows to a 120GB SSD to see if it would continue happening. (might do this first, would help a lot) - Check if the issues (the 1st one) happen under a live Linux. - Try using the PC without it being connected to the C-Lion Blazer 800VA 480W UPS. - Trying some really old drivers that I know did not cause any issues (for example the ones I used 5 months ago). No, it's not the PSU. The one I have is a year and a half old and the system doesn't even draw 400W under MAX load (Prime95+Furmark). I just hope it's not the new ADATA 8200pro SSD (but if it is, I can RMA it) or the graphics card. I had planned to upgrade the graphics card with a new one closer to the end of the year. Maybe the Na'Vi that will perform close to an RTX 2070. But I don't have the funds at the moment. If it's one of the hard drives, not a biggie, but if it's multiple of them causing the issues together that might pose a problem. And no, I don't like reinstalling Windows just when I got the previous installation set up the way it should be. Can you help? Any idea on what to do next? Maybe encountered a similar issue?

I will try to pick up some of the parts in the next couple of weeks /months and would like to have everything together by mid December so some prices might drop (black Friday/ cyber Monday?) or is that not i thing?? i am not against picking up an older video card on Ebay for example GTX1080 ti or something, but i dont have any experience which that. Maybe some of you have tried that and can give me an idea of if that is a good idea to safe a few €s? So not everything has to be the latest if there is only a small performance drop... I never overclocked anything but am not against trying with this pc. Oh and since this is my first ever build i would assemble myself it would be awesome if you guys have any recommendations for a case to build in, i dont really care about the look. 1. Budget & Location i hoped to stay below 1500 €, but after my first try i don´t know about that one. So the budget is a but flexible to about 2000 €, but there has to fit a 1440p monitor in there as well and i didnt check for those yet and have no idea what a good one would cost. I live in Germany. 2. Aim I am planning for the system to be "good" for several years at gaming + streaming at some point i might use my old pc as a streaming pc, not sure about that thou if it can handle that (i7 2600) i might even try to start with editing some videos in the future, but since i have never tried that it is not really a requirement. Would just be nice if the rendering wouldnt take days or whatever.. 3. Monitors i have my old monitor 1920x1080p which i would like to use as a second monitor now. Then there are a couple of other 1920x1080p monitor in the basement, which i wouldn´t mind if they also fit in the build but are not really necessary. a 3rd one wouldnt be to bad thou (for obs while streaming) As the new main Monitor i would like to use a 1440p one maybe at 60hz? i dont know how stressful 3 montiors are for a gpu and the ryzens dont have any integrated gpu so i cant have 1 on there... 4. Peripherals I stil have my older peripherals from my last setup which i think stil are good enough. If not i would upgrade these outside of the budget after the pc is running. 5. Why are you upgrading? My last setup in from end of 2011 (i7 2600 i think...) and since i have more time in the next few months / years i want to start gaming again and possibly streaming i hope that is everything you guys need to help me out Thank you for trying to help me in advance ! Have a nice day / evening (if there are things you would do different it would be nice if you can try to explain to me why?) thanks

I have recently upgraded my motherboard but now I have a dilemma. What cpu? I’m trying to get the best I can while also staying under $125usd. I don’t mind going over but feel like that is a bit of a waste for my use case. At current, I have been looking at ryzen 2200g, 2400g, 3200g, and the 3400g. I also, out if curiosity, looked into the price or the 1600 and 1600x. They also sit in my price range. So, any thoughts?

Budget (including currency): 100,000 INR Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streamlab OBS and casual gaming for AAA titles Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My friend is planning to build a new ryzen setup for streaming and casual gaming here and there(Farcry, AC etc). Since ryzen processors seem to be notorious for having compatibility issues with the ram. I wanted to know if the parts I've assembled here will go along. Will the ram and mobo go along with the cpu? P.S. This is my first time posting here i hope im uploading this in the right place xD

My friend needs a 1,000 - 1,100 dollar Ryzen build ASAP. He only wants to play games, so no video editing or streaming or anything of that kind. Could you guys help me come up with a good build as I am kinda confused with the problems of Ryzen with RAM or something like that. Thank you for your help and just post the pcpartpicker list as a reply.

Hello, I am planning on building a rig, because my current 'craptop' is barely handlin Minecraft (dont judge me). I also plan on playing other games (Rust, Fortnite, War Thunder, HOI4) I am starting with 1 1080P monitor, upgrading to 2 later down the line. My idea: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kHrQD2 Things that arent in the list: A Coolermaster MWE Bronze 550 Watt power supply. (Costs 43 Euro's) A 1TB Seagate BarraCuda (Which my old Step-Brother is gifting me, has has about 8 of em laying around) Cost: Here in the Netherlands, (where for 1 time the build is less expensive!) comes to a total of +- 1070 Euro's No need for peripherals, I already own that. Thanks for reading, And give any advice you are thinking off!

Hi,If anyone can help I would be really grateful!I recently put a computer together with the Phanteks Evolv Shift, the PCIe riser cable given is creating massive instability even on windows the computer is unusable. I talked to Phanteks to get this issue fixed they let me know to change the PCIe Gen in the motherboard to Gen2 however in my Asus Rog Strix B350-I motherboard I can't change it.So now I am stuck with a £1500 computer that is like a paperweight due to the case.If anyone knows a solution I already ask Asus to include in the bios the Gen of the PCIe.I already talk to Phantkes but they basically playing stupid sent me the same cable expecting it would help they know of the issues they just don't advertise it.My config:Case: Phanteks Evolv ShiftMotherboard: Asus Rog Strix B350-ICPU: Ryzen 7 1800xMemory: G.Skill RGB 3600mhzCooler: Corsair h80i v2PSU: Corsair SF600Hard Drive: M.2 Samsung 960 Evo 250gbGPU: PowerColor RX580
