Other details Hi My CNC machine has been flood damaged and I will be replacing it with another machine. So I need a control PC for it that is also capable of running Fusion 360 and Vcarve. I am thinking of going minimal with a Nuc style machine (probably on the monitor arm) but I know Fusion particularly hates Intel integrated graphics so I am thinking a Ryzen APU mini PC is what I need. I could go with a tiny case like the Asrock Jupiter A320 which can accept any 65w Ryzen apu like 3400g or go with one of the mini PCs with built in laptop processors like the Ryzen 4500u like the minisforum, Asus pn50 or similar. I am confused a bit by the specifications here, I know the 7nm stuff is much more efficient and the 4000u series chips will probably provide enough cpu power but what about the graphics part. The 3400g has Vega 11 while the 4000 series has either vega 8 or 10. But are the vega 8 better than the old 11 because of the efficiency of 7nm. Cpu charts don`t show the graphics performance. Then there is the H series like 3550H ? Should I stick with desktop processor at 65w or will the mobile chips be powerful enough? (don`t really care about efficiency so much the machine it runs is 3kw) I don`t want to over spec it as it doesn`t need to be a gaming rig but also don`t want to under spec as it would be a waste of money. Maybe an older 2500u mini pc be enough, I can find these for very cheap.? Any help appreciated, I am a bit confused. Ollie

Also some lightweight gaming. Here I want to be very specific that I will only play old games like Assassin's Creed 1,2,3(max and no further than that). Call of duty modern warfare(original),Black ops 1,2. Battlefield up to(4 max). Mainly games released before 2014. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have a Dell Keyboard, and a Zebronics Mouse. As the prices of GPU is very high right now, I don't want any GPU. But I would prefer some APU solution for new PC buildup like Ryzen processor with integrated graphics(raedon vega 8 or 11). Looking at benchmarks the Vega 11 3400g is a better apu (higher fps) but which one of them is a better CPU. Planning to upgrade to a dedicated gpu in the future. And on a budget, which is a better cpu its probably the 4650g right? But how better is it as a cpu? Or should I wait for the coming R 5 5600g? Ryzen 3 3200G MSI B450M-A PRO MAX Corsair CV450 450W PSU 8gbX2 Gskill Aegis 3200mhz cl16-18-18-38 1.35v(hynix afr) When I run my ram at more than 2400mhz with AMD drivers installed, I get green screen or black screen. To fix this I just need to disable gear down mode. If I overclock the CPU I thermal throttle at 70c. If I overclock iGPU, I start getting graphical errors after some time. I do not know what to do.

So by accident, I purchased a Ryzen 2700x Pro on Ebay for $120.00 u.s. Well I was sold a 2700x but what arrived was a 2700x pro apu. Now I bought a navidia RTX 2060 Super. Games and simple benchmark apps kept crashing so I assumed the GPU was faulty and sent it back to MSI. Would this APU be the issue??

Hey so about a year back I posted that I was building a 3D printed Mini PC. Well, I've gone through at least 10 revisions since then. Here's the Forum thread from last year. So a few months ago I got some cheap color changing filament from AliExpress. The color changes from purple to hot pink around 30 degrees C, which effectively functions as a passive thermal visualization for the heatflow in the case. I tweaked the honeycomb design to use the absolute minimal amount of filament that I could dare. I carry this thing to and from work every day, I've even taken it across the border a couple times now. It's taken a bit of a beating and if you closely inspected it you'd find a few snapped honeycombs but it still serves as a protective rollcage for the most sensitive components. In this pic you can see that there are a few hot spots on the board. I've included a rough x-ray sketch of the component to help explain the heat patterns in the pic. I'm using a 160 Watt Pico PSU that takes in 12V. I've paired it with a 12.5A 12VDC power brick. I've used a kill-a-watt style power meter to measure the power draw on the whole computer and I haven't seen it draw much more than 100W at peak load. I can play most games at low or medium settings on this rig. It's not a powerhouse by any means but it really packs a punch for its size.

So very simply. I have a friend who might be building a pc soon but the motherboard he has picked out isn't updated for Ryzen 2000. So I would like to ask how he could flash his bios?

Hello. I am working on a build for my friend, and previous to today I had thought that all 2nd gen AMD Ryzen chips may not be compatible with older BIOS updates on certain motherboards. In fact, I had to order a boot kit from AMD to get my own rig working. However, upon researching the Ryzen 3 2200g and Ryzen 5 2400g, I noticed that Gigabyte shows that the Raven Ridge APU processors have been compatible since the first bios version of their b350 mobos. Is it true that an update will not be needed for the 2200g and 2400g? I have seen across the internet people saying that they will need an updated motherboard for their 2200g. I recently build a new Ryzen System and adjusted clock speeds and voltage. I've tested the clock speeds using Prime95 and Cinebench both the CPU and GPU validation. The Ryzen is running at 3.5GHz with 1.2V set in the Bios (I have disabled the boost). The GPU part is running at 1270Mhz with 1.1V SOC and 1.1V GFX voltage. (any higher clock speeds or voltages usually makes windows blue screen, something with driver failed) but I want I silent anyway, so no extra voltage. Memory is on XMP settings. After I tested 1350Mhz for the first time at 1.2V SOC and 1.225V GFX the APU is making strange noises when having a 3D app open like the OpenGL test of Cinebench or a VideoGame from steam. It does not occur when playing 4k 60fps HDR on youtube, which is more than the APU can handle (100% load and stutter). I dialled back the overlock to the above setting, which never resulted in a blue screen. Still everytime now I run a game or Cinebench OpenGL I hear this strange noise. (There is the possibility that I just haven't noticed the noise before I tested this OC) There are two Load-line Calibration settings in the BIOS which I set to low. To avoid voltage spikes and additional heat. Attached is a recording when I used the PC open bench and recorded with my iPhone. A game was open while the recording was made and when the noise disappears, I closed the game. I am running Windows 10 64 bit. The April creators update. The driver is Adrenalin Edition 18.5.1 from AMD. The noise does not sound like coil whine. It's slightly annoying since I want to use this a silent HTPC for 4k Video Playback and Steam in-home streaming. Hi I'm experiencing something weird. I'm my bios settings I can set dedicated memory for the Vega 11 gpu. Going from 1 to 2gb gives an immense boost to gaming performance. Also, he had recently purchased a power supply for his previous computer and wish to reuse it if possible. What are your thoughts on the build? Also, would it be safe to assume that the B350 board comes with the BIOS already updated to support the Raven Ridge APUs? I'm putting together a build for someone else and just wanted to know if this seemed like a worthwhile build. The person mainly plays Warframe, Roblox, Minecraft, and Space Engineers and he is honestly struggling with only a laptop and not a gaming one at that. So I have been seeing a lot of stuff about the Raven Ridge problem for the Ryzen APU's and I am planning to build a budget gaming build with this CPU. It's the definite bang-for-your-pound. But do any of you guys know what Motherboards have been updated to the newest bios? I don't have an extra CPU to update the motherboard so please help
