PCPartPicker Completed Build Link Budget - $1300 Country - USA Build Uses - Gaming, Streaming, Video Editing, and Content Creation BUILD SPECS - Ryzen 9 3900X, NH-U14S, G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) 3200MHz RAM, 1TB 970 EVO, 2TB (2 x 1TB) 860 EVO, MSI RTX 2060 SUPER GAMING X, Corsair iCUE 465X RGB ATX Mid-Tower case, Corsair RMx (2018) 750W 80+ Gold PSU, Corsair LL120 RGB fans (3-Pack), Corsair ML140 RGB fans (2-Pack). CPU Idle Temp - 40°C, CPU Load Temp - 62°C, GPU Idle Temp - 37°C, GPU Load Temp - 71°C BUILD NOTES - The iCUE 465X RGB case was tricky to build in, for a few reasons. The bigger CPU cooler and the top case fans being really close to each other, made mounting the cpu cooler fans a little interesting. Ultimately had to make sure the PWM splitter was installed and set up first. The ML140 RGB fans for the CPU cooler were next to have their fan clips set up and cables routed above the motherboard. Finally the top case fans had their cables routed above the motherboard. Case fans were then installed first, and then the cpu cooler fans. BUILD DESCRIPTION - This is a personal build upgrade, and I use my computer for gaming, streaming, video editing, and content creation. I originally had the idea for this upgrade, after upgrading a relatives build last year. I also noticed that with the 2700X & 2.5” SATA SSDs in my previous personal build, I wasn’t getting the desired performance that I was looking for (both in gaming and video editing/rendering). I did some research on the new CPU’s, and looked at performance and everything. With pricing and availability what it is, I thought that it was a great time to get a 3900X, for a solid upgrade even in 2021. The RAM, storage (2.5" SSDs), GPU, and PSU were brought over from the previous build, with everything else being new from Amazon & MicroCenter. So far with this build, I’ve noticed much smoother and faster boot and shutdown times as well, thanks to the new CPU and the Samsung M.2 NVME SSD. The CPU fans are the ML140 RGB fans, and I have those connected to a sleeved PWM splitter that I picked up from MicroCenter. The RGB part is controlled by the included Lighting Node Pro and RGB HUB. The case fans are all connected to the Commander Pro and another Lighting Node Pro. Mounting and connecting all of the case fans was easy, but the cable management was a pain in the butt. If you mount these devices at the back of your case, cable management won’t be too much of a problem. I have the Commander Pro and Lighting Node Pro, for the case fans, mounted underneath the PSU shroud, so cable management was a little tricky there. Also, the front CPU cooler fan was re-adjusted after the photos were taken, as I noticed it was a bit crooked. In gaming, the CPU stays around the same as the usual load temps that I get with multitasking and video editing. I may repaste the graphics card however, as the usual load temps average around 58°C outside of gaming, and go up to 71°C in gaming. All temps listed are with D.O.C.P. (XMP) enabled, and PBO disabled. BTW I do have the Noctua NA-HC5 in the pictures, but I ended up not using it. Both didn’t see an ultimate need for it, and it would’ve also increased the Noctua cooler’s height to 172mm, which was not applicable to my case.

Hello to everyone. Does someone know if there is any "64 GB (2 × 32 GB), 3600 MHz, CL16" (or CL ≤ 18) memory kit really compatible with a combination of a Ryzen 9 3900X CPU and a GIGABYTE X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI motherboard? Currently, with a Patriot Viper 4 Blackout PVB464G360C8K kit (2 × 32 GB, CL18) set on XMP 3600 MHz the Windows memory diagnostic takes over 24 hours and errors show up at the end. Thanks for any suggestion.

As the title implies, I am having a hard time getting the full wired internet speed to my main PC. We recently upgraded from 500 mbps to gig since it was only $10/month more, a no brainer. As soon as I started running speed tests to make sure everything was in working order, however I found my desktop was having a hard time attaining full speed. After several resets and testing the same ethernet port with my laptop, I found my integrated ethernet ports to be the culprit. I posted on reddit and searched google to see everyone suggesting I update drivers or revert them. I have even taken my pc to another port to see if it was my pc itself, which it was. Beforehand, my pc used to get full 500/500 with the old connection. Now, it gets 800 down, but around 200 up, even connected to the 2.5g port. After a reddit post and several google searches, I'm unsure what to do. Any good advice? Extra info below. Specs: Ryzen 9 3900x, MSI Mag Tomahawk b550, with gig and 2.5g ethernet ports, 32 GB ram, RTX 2070 super. Ethernet connected to gigabit port. ISP: Frontier Fios, gigabit speeds (940/880), used to have 500/500. Quantum Gateway Router Current speed tests: 800/200 (roughly) Driver Info: 10.48.315.2021, March 2021. (updating or reverting did not help the speeds)

Hi everyone, I know there's been a lot of discussion about this topic, but no matter what I try with this card I can't get around 120 -130 fps performance in Warzone. It's weird because in multiplayer it does run super smoothly it's just with warzone that I get around 90-110 ish fps on just a little bit over 1080p resolution with low-to medium settings. Other games run good like Valhala, GTA, Cyberpunk etc, it seems that the issue is with Warzone. I assume I'd get more fps out of this card for this game particularly. A bit frustrating as it's the main game i play. Now, I can do with around 100FPS at 1080p medium, i just feel it does not meet the benchmarks out there and I'm not using my card's full potential on that game. Here are the stuff I've tried: - enabling / disabling game mode in windows - playing with in game graphics - messing around with the adv_options file in the documents (videomemoryscale is at 0.75 and rendererworker count 12, since i'm running a 12 cores) I had a bit of stuttering with the default at 0.85 now it seems its better but not much effect on fps) - updating AMD drivers and AMD software - optimizing windows (power etc) CPU and GPU usage seem normal with around 40% ish and 90-95% respectively. My config is as follow and is brand new: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Gigabyte X570 GAMING X 32 Go Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200 MHz (2 x 16 Go) RX 5700 XT 8GB THICC II ultra 1 To SSD Samsung 870 QVO CORSAIR 650 W TXm SERIES In help/advice would be much appreciated. Thank you very much

Was inspired by various YT channels to include LTT, this is actually my first ever build and it blew me away by how it actually turned out. I learned how to build simply by watching multiple step by step guides for it and how to set up bios, etc. I have yet to name this but I think part of the concept was mainly from looking at Alienware pics sometime ago and wanting to make something that really deserves that name. I'm not much for a gamer, but I plan to utilize this for animation and evolving my art from just having an iPad alone.

I just found bug using the OC Button/Knob on my Main board. I wanted to test what happens then i turn it to one. The Button/Knob has 12 settings. After the CPU was Overclocked i released that the CPU didn't gain much but run hotter Default 4.2Ghz and OC 4.25Ghz. So i disabled it again knob = 0. I booted to windows and to my surprise the CPU is now at 4.7GHZ single core and Multicore 4.45GHZ. I again over 2000 Points in Cinebench R23 Temps didnt change to Default. Task manger Reports 4.45Ghz and Ryzen Master only 3.9Ghz im completely lost. Userbench https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/55244653. Does Anyone have experienced the same? I it a Bug or just normal boosting ? If so why is my score on Userbench so much higher then other peoples score. silicon lottery? I might make a Video about it. Thanks in Advance.

Hey! So I was benchmarking some things for the past few days and I noticed some really bizzare behaviour of my cpu/aio. I have a R9 3900x with a Lian Li Galahad 240 AIO. My CPU is stock running at 1.5V. That's what the bios and HWInfo64 say. When doing AIDA Extreme, the temps are fine for a few minutes (2-3) but after that they spike to 92-95 at which point I stop it. Trying to undervolt the cpu kinda fails since my bios is really weird (It tells me that the set value is 1.1) and even when I forced it to certain voltages that didn't change anything. My AIO is with the pump down and the idle temps are 40-50C. I am not even sure where to start and where to end with all this mess, so some help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone. So I am in the midst of investigating why my pc is underperforming in certain games. I have done a couple of benchmark to see if there is any issue with the gear itself. My Specs: Ryzen 9 3900x @ 1.3V + Lian Li Galahad Asus X370 Pro Prime MB Corsair Vengeance 2x8 @ 3333 mhz MSI RTX 3060 M.2 nvme storage Seasonic Focus GX 750W Here are the benchmark results: 3DMARK Time Spy Geekbench 5 CPU Geekbench 5 GPU CUDA Cinebench: 7128 Are these results up to snuff? I tried comparing them myself but idk if, for example, 1000 points difference from the 3dmark test is a lot of not. Worth mentioning that the cooling is sufficient, having reached max 60C on the GPU and 80C on the CPU in 3rd Mark. Absolutely everything (including bios) is up to date.

Hi Linus Tech Tip'ers! So i built a Ryzen 9 3900x system for my friend, and now he wants overclock it! I have not overclock and do not know where to start! Maybe someone can share some overclocking setting (voltage, clock ratio etc). The target is 4.3-4.5 GHz! Maybe someone can share GPU overclocking too?! CPU some times get 80ºC spike but is average 70-75ºC. Regarding to the post I'm coming, @jones177 recommended me to ask to Ryzen experts to see what's going on with my CPU performance. Thanks in advance, any help is really appreciated.

Hi everyone! Im in search for a motherboard that will go perfectly with my Ryzen 9 3900X build. I took a look at the TUF Gaming X570-PLUS WIFI motherboard, but tbh I don’t know nothing about motherboards so I’m looking for the best fit. I’m looking to spend up to $250 on it (if necessary). This build will cover gaming, but will focus also on Pro Tools and Ableton Live. TUF Gaming Motherboard LINK!!!

Budget (including currency): 150€? Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Blender / LuxCore Multithreaded, Fusion 360, Premiere, TouchDesigner,... Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm wanting to upgrade my PC from the Xeon E3 1240 v2 that it's (slowly) rocking now to a ryzen 9. I already have a case, 650W PSU, storage, an OK GPU and everything, but will need new RAM and a motherboard in addition to the CPU. I'll be going with the cheapest 32GB of name brand ddr4 3200 RAM at the point of purchasing but I'm unsure about which motherboard to choose. I'd like to spend as little as possible on the board since I don't want to overclock or use multiple m.2 cards / wifi / whatever. I'm looking for 6+ Sata 3 connectors, at least one USB C port, decent ethernet, 4+ ram slots, ATX formfactor, and to spend as little as reasonably possible. Some people say that a msi b450 tomahawk max would do the trick, others insist on some x570 board. Which one would you choose and why? I might upgrade my GPU to a 2080 super at some point if that makes any difference.

Hello, Here is the list, I am going to buy. My interests: Gaming competitive games, streaming, sometimes modeling/rendering little 3d models, scenes. What would you change into this build? Please, don't consider prices and don't think on any item like this "this is expensive, you can get same performance or at least lower, but you can't feel it, just with 100-200$ less item". Hope, you will help me .If there is any item on market, better that the listed ones, and the price is much less or a bit higher, I am listening .

Hi guys! I'm really lost here. The setup: This is my system: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gfpF9G for shorts, CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x Mobo: Asus TUF gaming X570 plus RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 3000Mhz C16 GPU: Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX2070Super SSD: Silicon Power A55 512Gb The Problem: Whenever I'm playing COD Warzone I have a lot of stuttering, look at this https://streamable.com/e2pslc https://streamable.com/e6vrrt https://streamable.com/zlq1kg https://streamable.com/6oy5y3 https://streamable.com/w2qdlg https://streamable.com/75rle7 This also happens when the game is on Single player, so I tried another game, Battlefield 1, And it is also happening here. Also, when I'm working with a lot of programs it happens as well (I'm a developer, and sometimes I have my machine running at leas 1 virtual machine and some other Ram consuming programs) The Solutions I tried: Up to now I have tested the following things: # Updated my BIOS, this is the first thing I tried, I'm running the latest one (build 1407). Didn't solve the stutters. # I though it was a CPU temp. Before updating the Bios I saw some 92 or something like that and I really freaked out. now after the Bios upgrade and some added coolers to the case the temps improved a lot. It stays at 40-something on idle and is really easy to reach 70ish temps. But I also added 3 CPU fans and the temperatures improved a lot. This didn't solve the stutters. # I read somewhere that it may be a HDD problem, I changed power settings to never put HDD to sleep. it didn't solve my problem. # Driver Updates, done (CPU, GPU, chipset, you name it) # Game Graphics configuration (tried minimum, tried disabling that antialising) tried all sort of things I read on reddit, but nothing worked. # I'm starting to think it is the ram sticks. I tried the enabling DOCP from BIOS, but just doing that changed everything to let my board handle the 3000Mhz, and the system just didn't POST, since my idea was not overclock, but use this system just the way it is, I didn't give it any importance, but I can't play on this computer the way it is right now. Here are some logs from my AfterBurner, There are some estrange things going on but since I don't know really how to use this I may not be able to show it to you, I will try to make some other logs to give you some more information. I can try whatever you think it would be. thanks a lot! EDIT: [Solution] The problem fixed itself after I bought the proper Ram Sticks (G Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16Gb 3600 Mhz)

Hi, I'm kinda new to building a PC and this might seem to be a noob question, which of these two are the best for all around? Mainly use for gaming, video editing, and 3D animation. Will probably build a pc between these two once the pandemic situation is a bit off. And another thing, I'm not comfortable with overclocking at all but do I need to overclock the CPU processor in order to achieve the 3600MHz speed for the RAMs? And if it's possible, how? Thank you.

So This is the first time that I have bought an AMD processor. I am switching over from Intel and I have most of my parts already I just need some ram, a water cooler and a case. my old build was about a year ago so most of the salvaged components should still be good My Current build as it is now Ryzen 9 3900X Gigabyte X570 Elite WIFI RTX 2080 FE (had from previous build) Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz 16gb (2x8) EVGA AIO 240mm 80 Gb NVME SSD (had from previous build) 2tb 3.5 inch SSHD Sound blaster AE-5 (had from previous build) Corsair 200r EVGA 750w PSU (had from previous build) I have plans to add card reader and a optical drive, and about 2 more HDD's My current questions are the ram compatibility with the motherboard, and is the PSU powerful enough to run this new processor and video card. will the 240 mm prevent me from adding optical media drives should I go with a 120mm AIO because I am looking at cutting cost by going with a 120mm.

ive recently pulled the trigger and impulse bought a ryzen 9 3900x when the store i was at had one in stock. now im in the process of figuring out the rest of my build. the motherboard my friend has suggested is the msi b450 gaming pro carbon ac but currently, every store i look doesn't have it in stock, so im looking for suggestions on how to complete this build. currently stuck on what motherboard and ram to pick. also bang for the buck is what im looking for, not trying to break the bank more lol. I don't need wifi but it would be a plus (currently running none wifi build) i dont overclock i use the easy overclock my motherboard offers (p67 sabertooth) and my current gpu is rx480 sapphire nitro 8gb (will probably use until i save for another overkill gpu to add to my cpu) id appreciate the help.

Good evening community, This is my 3rd build in 3 years and never had any problem - thus not a pro but an enthousiast. Just finished the build this afternoon (after waiting for Ryzen 9 3900x to come out of back order) and on first boot (before installing windows 10 - just going into the BIOS/UEFI) : RESULT = CPU RED LED on and obviously the monitor not working!!!!! So, unplugged everything and plugged back in again (listen for all the clicks, etc...); also took the CPU out and put it back in again gently, locked and put gently the cooler on top not to put to much pressure, etc.) and... NO LUCK. And... yes the 8 PIN EPS connector is plugged in (in fact two are plugged in for OC). Everything else lights up and works (GPU - fan working; G.Skill Neo, fans, Mastercooler liquid, etc...). Also, the BIOS LED indicators (MBIOS_LED and BBIOS_LED) are lightning up in an alternative pattern every 15-20 secondes. Any ideas what's going on? I wrote to Gigabyte but will get an answer in 3-7 business days.... Thanks in advance to everyone who will take the time to reply, much appreciated.
