I bought an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X in 2020. A few months ago, I bought a Ryzen 7 5700X. I didn't try to replace my old CPU immediately because I had seen a lot of cases where people had their CPU come off with the cooler. So, naturally, I had to remove the previous CPU. . Since buying 3700X in 2020, I haven't changed the thermal paste for 3 years. It had the default paste that comes with the Wraith Prism Cooler. So, when I tried to remove the CPU a few weeks ago, it came off attached to the cooler. I had run 6 hours of stress test before trying to remove the cooler so that the paste would melt a little and be a bit easy to remove, but it didn't work. . I reside in the Asia region. Since, I am not an expert, I went to the official distributor of my region and asked them to detach the cooler from the CPU. Note: They used to be the official distributor of AMD CPU when I bought my 1st Ryzen CPU which was a Ryzen 7 3700X. Currently, they are no longer the official distributor. All CPUs of AMD are imported via third party channel. . After a week or two, they called me and told me that the cooler wasn't coming off from the CPU. If it were attached to the paste only, then applying some force would make it come off, but they suspect that the CPU body has been fused with the heat pipes of the cooler or melted a little and got stuck really hard because of high heat. If they try to apply more force, it might damage the top body of the CPU, and there is a risk of rendering the CPU dead or not working properly after the procedure. They asked me for my permission to try. I told them I would let them know. . Is there any way you would recommend that would detach the cooler without damaging the CPU? I don’t care about the wraith prism cooler. If they have to cut pipes in order to free it, I am cool with that too. But would it work? That is the question. Or would any method work? What do you recommend? Please let me know. . I am attaching a link to a few pictures. In those, you'll see some bent pins. It happened during the removal process. They told me that bent pins wouldn't be an issue and that they would be able to fix those. The main problem is detaching the cooler from the CPU.

Hi! I have recently overclocked my Ryzen 7 3700x to 4.4ghz. But it said its at 4.39 in task manger. But thats not my issue, I am new to overclocking and i don't know if my oc is safe. my cpu voltage is at 1.31v and my voltage for VCPU SOC is at 1.30v is that a safe over clock for the long term running or is that dangerous and might kill the cpu. I have ran Cinebench and it didnt crash. Please help, thanks.

Hey All, I've got a problem that is driving me freaking up the wall. I have an ASRock B450M Pro4 motherboard, Ryzen 3700x, 32gb of Corsair Vengeance Ram (8gbx4), and after an uncertain number of bootups, it will power cycle itself like a failed overclock, and lose the XMP settings. I am on Bios version 4.90 (Latest revision), and I've tried versions, 4.60, 4.30, and 4.20, and it doesn't resolve the issues. I've also ran Memtestx86 on it, and let it run overnight and no errors found. Still having the issues. It keeps defaulting back to 2133mhz for the memory speed when it does this. Can anyone help? Hoping Anthony might see this since he did the video on this board, and might be able to help or at least throw in his 2 cents. Any help is welcome as long as I can get this to quit doing this. Thank You! Jeremiah

I'm building a pc for video editing and gaming and I need help with picking a power supply for it. I'm not from US so most of the PSU units from the PSU tier list is not available over here. Their prices vary a lot too and most of what's sold here is either out of stock or ridiculous priced. This is my build: Ryzen 7 3700x (Stock Cooler) Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite V2 Corsair Vengeance DDR4 16GB (LPX) Gigabyte GTX 960 4G G1 (It's from my old rig, planning to upgrade to a 3070 / 3060ti) NZXT H510 (with stock fans) Kingston A400 240GB (Boot drive) Seagate BarraCuda 3.5 inch 2TB My options (converted to $$): Corsair TX650M - $101 Silverstone ST65f-GS - $106 Silverstone VIVA650 Gold - $90 Silverstone ET650-G - $88 Silverstone ET505f - $78 Silverstone ET550-G - $72 Do I really need 650W? (After the upgrade?) I pay my electricity bills so efficiency matters a lot too. Any other suggestions are welcome, I will try to see if they are available over here.

Hi, Was wondering if my temps were normal since they seemed a bit much.. Idle : 41 - 44 C Gaming : 69 - 78 C occasionally jumping to 81 - 84 C (Clock speed of 4.3 - 4.4) Cooler : Kraken M22 120MM Note: I've had the CPU for almost a year now, average idle temps have had a small increase as well as gaming temps.

Specs: Ryzen 7 3700x GTX 1060 6GB 650W power supply B450 f gaming from ROG 4 * 4GB Ballistix RAM 2666MHz Hello guys! This might be a long post but I am very desperate because it’s holiday time and my pc is broken and I think you would have to know the details that I am gonna tell you because that might help you help me. So my pc was working fine but one month ago I wanted to change thermal paste for the first time for no specific reason. Then I kept gaming on my pc like normal but two weeks after the change when I wanted to start my pc, it didn’t post, I got a black screen, keyboard RGB wasn’t on and cpu debug led is on. So I took a look at my cpu and discovered that I somehow have put more thermal paste than needed. The paste has got into the cpu pins and the motherboard cpu socket. I tried cleaning that with alcohol for a few days but didn’t manage to fix the problem. I made it worse because a tiny bit of a toothpick got stuck in one of the holes in the cpu socket of the motherboard. I decided to send my pc to service so they can check where the problem is. One week later they told me that my motherboard needs to be replaced, so I bought a new one. “B550 Gaming Plus from MSI and I gave it to the service. A few days later they told me that my pc is now working but they need to do some testing on the cpu. Then I got my pc back. They charged me a lot because they cleaned it and did service to it. I came home and wanted to play CSGO which is the only thing I do on my pc. First thing I wanted to do is to overclock my ram speed which I have previously done on my old motherboard, what I have noticed is that I got a black screen when I tried to get into the bios, keyboard rgb wasn’t on. I tried to get into the bios in all possible ways but still got black screen. When I restarted without pressing any extra buttons, I’d manage to get into the lock screen so I decided to skip boosting the ram speed and just be happy that I am getting to windows. So I played cs with my friends for 6 straight hours and I was so happy and all of the sudden in the middle of the game my screen goes black! Cpu debug led is on. What I noticed then is that I wasn’t able to restart or shut down my pc with the power button in the front. All the fans were spinning and they only way to restart the pc was to do it using the power switch at the back. I tried to restart multiple times but still got black screen and I also saw that the cpu fan was spinning slow. Also I’m not getting that noise at the start that I used to get when I usually start my pc. It’s so weird that it was working for 6 hours straight and just randomly went off. Even my game performance was good. Note that I haven't bent any cpu pins and I don't think they did that at the service either. Another note is that my the motherboard manual it says that it supports DDR4 in different speeds but the speed of my ram “2666” are not included, the closest is 2667, I don’t know if that makes a difference. We know the CPU debug led is on, can I be sure the problem is in the cpu? Or can it be the ram? Why was it working and just randomly stopped working? I am thinking about taking a look at the cpu myself. What do you think? I will insert a video when I was testing with one RAM I wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year. /Seif Snapchat-725267124_1_1.mp4

Hi guys , I hope no one's running into issues like me. So I have a system with these specs : ~CPU : Ryzen 7 3700x ~GPU : Gtx 1070ti Strix ~Storage : 256gb Xpg nvme / 2tb HDD Seagate Barracuda. ~OS : win 10 ~PSU : 1000w thermaltake ~Cooling: stock AMD RGB cooler(CPU). ~RAM: 2×8 (16gb) @ 3200mhz Corsair RGB. ~Mobo: Asus prime B550m •Problem: i have stuttering/ FPS drops/low GPU usage/ GPU usage fluctuations and high latency In all games. I never had these issues before , so before these issues my GPU would be fully utilized i.e 98% ~ 99% my CPU would change its clock speeds normally and its usage was around 30~40%. •Attempted solutions: *Tried reinstalling drivers/reverting back to older drivers. *Tried changingpowerplan to maximum performance for GPU & CPU. *Tried resetting PC in Windows settings. *Tried clean caches and optimizing drives. *Tried running all games in full screen, vsync disabled & ran them as administrator. *updated bios through Asus armoury crate. *Did furmark tests & monitored using HW monitor. *GPU temps 70°~75° when underload & CPU temps 62°~70° Max for both . *Disabled full screen optimizations for all games *Set priority high , hardware acceleration on , high performance for all games in graphics settings in Windows. *Nvme temps 60° Max and HDD 50° Max & Ram 55° Max. *Disabled any kind of overlays and disabled gamemode. *CPU clock is now fixed @4.5ghz on all cores because I oc it , before it were between 3.9 and 4ghz. *Tried oc the GPU . Also noticed cck or core clock fluctuations during monitoring as it went from 1773 to 1835 or 1822 however memory clock was fine. PLEASE HELP ME

hallo! i installed my ryzen 7 3700x today with a custom cooler - be quiet shadow rock 3. i started gaming and checked my cpu temperatures in the background with Core Temp and noticed that my temperatures are jumping 3-4 degrees within seconds. for example: 64 to 70 and then back to 66 within 10 seconds. is that usual? should the cpu even get 70 degrees while gaming with the custom cooler?my worries are that i might have fucked up the thermal paste or didnt put the cooler spot on the cpu.

I get black screens, but I can still hear the audio for a few seconds (and send audio on discord) after around 5 seconds the pc restarts. This happens when playing some games, but not others. It happens directly when trying to load into a CS:GO map or after a few min of playing Elite: Dangerous, while some other games and applications are fine (lol, Space Engineers) and run for hours without any problems. I do not believe it is a problem with any hardware, as in damaged PSU, etc, as I can run stress tests like Time Spy without any problems for extended periods. When the restart has occurred my second monitor is no longer active and I have to open device manager, select the GPU, update drivers and then my second monitor will come back online. I have tried using DDU to reinstall the latest drivers, and the drivers I had been using for the last few months. When looking at event logger nothing stands out to me other than a warning: "graphics driver amdwddmg has stopped responding and been reset" The games that have crashed have been on different drives. I was on older AMD drivers when this started, now I am on the latest stable version. Hi, I recently built my pc and I noticed very high temps on my stock Wraith Prism (80 Degrees and thermal throttling is constantly occurring). I want to switch it out for an aftermarket cooler, the ML240L V2 from Cooler Master, but everywhere I look, it seems like this AIO doesn't do a good job, as the temps are usually stated as 66 degrees Celsius. My other option is a Noctua NH-U12S, but I don't want to go with this because It would stand out like a sore-ass thumb thanks to Noctua's $20 CAD Black paint finish (which I can't afford). If you have this CPU and this cooler, please leave a review of it. If you have any suggestions for other coolers it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have a build right now in some cooler master case, and well it’s kind of loud. I am very new to this whole computer stuff as I’ve always had a Xbox. I have an Amd 5700xt and a ryzen 7 3700x. I am looking for a case that will cut sound down drastically but still doing good with cooling. I’ve been looking into a few different fractal design cases. Any recommendations for cases will be appreciated thanks

I recently purchased both a new cpu and new motherboard but kept my old ram (compatible with both cpu and mobo I checked) but I am unable to get my system to boot. I have the ryzen 7 3700x with an Mpg B550 gaming plus motherboard and corsair vengeance Lpx DDR4 3000 ram 2x8GB sticks. And a 750 watt psu. The two leads I have are from the Debug lights but there's conflict there as well. When I use one of my ram sticks I get a DRAM white LED and when I use the other stick I get a CPU white LED debug light. Here is what I have tried. I cleared the CMOS I flashed to the latest bios with no parts in it. I have tried to boot with both ram sticks in both single and dual channel on both ram channels. I have tried to boot with a single stick in all four slots I have reseated my CPU. I have disconnected and reconnected every single wire in my system. I have tried quite literally every single option Google has brought to me outside of testing other parts in the board as I do not have access to other parts. The ram worked perfectly fine before replacing the board and cpu And the reason I replaced the board and cpu is that I cracked the socket and broke pins off of my previous cpu having misaligned the pins after replacing thermal paste I did attempt to use my new CPU in the old board before I noticed a crack in the socket but I haven't been able to find other posts about a cracked CPU socket bricking a CPU only that it prevents the board from using a CPU. I need help figuring this one out.

I’m getting a pre built pc (because of the shortage Of course), and wondering if the Ryzen 5 3600x is good for gaming in 2021 along with the rtx 3060, in which is obviously good for gaming (it’s a 3000 series of course!). I’ve been hearing that 8 cores now a days is the standard for gaming with the next gen consoles using them, but will may 6 core cpu be good enough for the games now a days, or should I just upgrade to a Ryzen 7 3700x?

So, I was planning to do a white build with a Ryzen 7 3700x, and wanted to get a X570 ASRock Steel Legend. I won't do much overclocking, but I have heard mixed opinions on that motherboard. Are the VRMs good enough, or will they heat up too much? Is the power delivery bad/not enough? Are the M.2 SSDs going to get too hot? Cheers.

Dear All -- looking to see if anyone encountered similar issue and have some tips to overcome. I assembled per the instructions in mulitple videos (references below) - and repeated it more than once to check I have not missed anything - but the build doesnt seem to power up. After turning the PSU on, neither the fan in the PSU turns on or any of the other fans (CPU, Case Fans etc). I even returned the first PSU (powerspec, microcenter) and tried with its replacement EVEA - but still. Looks like the problem is somewhere else? So I'm not sure if this should go here or in troubleshooting, but I'm hoping someone can give me some better insight into how to overclock ram to its advertised speeds. I figured it would be as simple as enabling the xmp profile in bios, but after waking up this morning to a pc that would appear to boot and have no debug lights on but have no power going to any of my peripherals, and after having to clear the cmos, it seems that it is more complicated than that, or part of my hardware is a dud, idk. I read a brief mentioning online about memory training failure, and I want to think this has something to do with that but I really don't know. So ultimately my questions boil down to wanting to understand what could cause a ram overclock to prevent the pc from booting so that I know either how to properly overclock the ram manually or purchase a more compatible ram set. In this case I'm using an msi x570 gaming pro carbon wifi mobo, a Ryzen 7 3700x cpu, and 4 sticks of G.Skill Ripjaw V Series 16 gb 3600 Mhz ram. I can't view the finer details of the order I made for the ram to see what model it is exactly, but it is a red colored older model and I THINK the specs are CAS Latency 19, Timing 19-20-20-40. My concern is specifically about what can cause it to not boot, because it worked fine last night while the pc had already been running for a while, almost like it worked just because it was warmed up or freshly applied or something. It was only after 7 hours of being off that it decided not to boot anymore. It works fine now that the bios was reset and removed the overclock.

Hi, I'm experiencing a very weird issue with my preowned GTX Titan X Pascal. It's showing symptoms of having a bottleneck, since in games like BF1 and other more demanding games, the framerate seems to remain around the same value no matter the settings (varies from game to game). If, for example, I turn the settings up to ultra in BF1, I'll get around 95 to 99 percent usage, but if i turn it all the way down (and 50% resolution scaling) I get the same framerate but just much lower GPU usage. I know this is a sign of a bottleneck, but I can't for the life of me figure out where it would be. My specs are: GPU: GTX Titan X (Pascal) CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X RAM: 16gb of DDR4 at 3200MHz PSU: 750w In most games, the CPU usage doesn't really ever go above 50% (though certain cores do sometimes hop up to the 90'ies, but only ever for a few moments) At first I thought it might've been the CPU thermal throttling since it was running really hot, even when idling, but I've since gotten a Noctua NH-D15 and my temps are wonderfully cool, whilst the issue persists. I've tried so many things besides looking for the potential bottleneck, like reinstalling drivers, rolling back drivers, re-seating the GPU, reinstalling windows, turned G-Sync off, and nothing has worked. I also think it's worth noting that in a game like Minecraft, I'll get between 60-30fps with GPU utilization at 15% or less. Thank you in advance for any help you might give me EDIT: Forgot to mention that I doubt the GPU is thermal throttling, since it's showing this behavior no matter the temperature. I get max 84 degrees when using it but that's only when the GPU is actually being fully used.

I've been experiencing a lot of frame rate drops during any game that I've been playing. I built my first pc not knowing about bottlenecking and thus I paired a Ryzen 7 3700x and an Rx 580.For day to day functions it is perfectly fine, however as soon as I boot into a gaming the GPU utilization jumps to100% and fluctuates between 3 - 100 constantly as soon as I move my mouse quickly. Was told that I needed more ram so I added some but to no avail I was still met with the same issue. So when I can afford it I will be upgrading my GPU to something more suited to the build. Specs: Asus strix x570 E-Gaming motherboard Ryzen 7 3700x with box cooler 24gb 3200mhz ram CXM 650W 1tb M.2 NVME 1tb HDD Gigabyte RX 580 8gb Any suggestions for an upgrade I am looking for something around the $400-$500 Canadian price point, and I will be selling my current GPU on Kijiji. Thank you in advance

Windows 10 64bit, 2 - 8gb 3200mhz DIMM, Ryzen 7 3700x w/ case fan, Gigabyte RX 580, Corsair CXM 650 PSU, 1tb WD HDD storage, 1tb WD m.2 nvme boot drive, Asus Strix X570e - gaming motherboard. All of the most recent driver updates have been installed and it runs fine normally for youtube and daily task. However, as soon as I start any game the frame rate drops significantly I can get up to 125fps when standing still, but when I move my cursor even slightly the game will freeze for a few seconds, lag, or even shut down. This was a second hand build so I wont complain as its my very first build but there is obviously wrong, and I would like to sort it out.
