So, i've now benchmarked my Ryzen 5 3600X in Cinbench R20 and got 3703 Points. But in here https://www.cgdirector.com/cinebench-r20-scores-updated-results/ , i have seen that a Ryzen 5 3600X should go up to 3890-ish score. So i have stated Ryzen Master and saw that my CPU only boosts up to 4.1mhz, sometimes a little more. Normally, it should easily boost up to 4.3mHz, shouldnt it? And it doesnt even really run hot because 65-66C is the most it reaches under the Cinebench load. So my questions is, is my CPU bad or do i oversee something important? I've also checked for BIOS and Chipset Driver updates beforehand, was nothing there to update to. Specs are: R5 3600X Cougar Aqua 240 with 2 Arctic P12 fans. Hey, I've had problems with my pc for around 1.5 years now (since I built it), and am wondering if maybe my CPU came partly DOA? (all pc specs at the bottom of the post) (EDIT: I forgot to add this, for the first month everything was fine, then my corsair 650M actually exploded while I was using the pc, so that may've damaged something on the CPU????) I first started by diagnosing the motherboard as the issue, which I think it partly was, as certain usb ports would randomly cut out and back in . However, when I got the RMA'D board back everything was fine for around a month, and then I started getting AWFUL frame stutters in games(EDIT: Best buy had replaced my 650 M w/ a thermaltake 700W and store credit, which i thought, due to its poor build quality, was maybe supplying dirty power?????? So I bought an EVGA Supernova 850 G+ Gold rated) . I thought it was my ram dying, so I bought new ram (The exact same spec except in white) and threw it in, cause that was what previous forums told me to do. However, though it did fix certain stutters in certain games(namely COD and APEX legends at the time), minecraft java edition was unplayable with a 1% minimum of 3 fps and a max of 144(it was capped). So then I thought the vram must be dying, it ran incredibly hot on my XFX 5700 xt thicc iii ultra at 104 degrees C at peak load. So, I adjusted the fan curve and clock speeds of the memory and core effectively. This fixed everything for about two days. Then I had to switch to a minimum driver install as Radeon software quit working and detected my GPU as dead or it would think it was a card from before 2012. This fixed the issues for about 2 months, tho I was still getting some frame stutters here and there, no gamebreaking issues tho. Then my GPU started artifacting for no reason, I checked to make sure the VRAM temps weren't bad or something, and it turned out they were awful again so I took off my side panel, as the fan curve was already insanely loud. This completely fixed the artifacting, but now frame stutters were back, and worse than ever. In fortnite for example(I only played this to make sure that the games I was playing weren't the issues and not hardware) had such bad framestutters that it felt like I was playing on like a 650M with 2GB of total system ram. I had peaks of 270 fps with 1% lows at 9. So I then began stalking Bestbuy for 1.5 months, and I got an FE 3070 ti. I was ecstatic, however. The framestutters are even worse now, and Halo infinite straight up turns itself off without warning. I will be playing and then it blips, it doesn't even hang for a few seconds, it just goes straight to the Desktop. (I already disabled the high resolution textures.) I then ran superposition, where I got no framestutters and an above average score, 9,241, with good temps. So, I then knew that it was most likely not a doa gpu. So I put my 5700 xt back in, and I got an average score on superposition, 5,290. So it doesn't really seem like either GPU were the issue (except the 5700 xt when it ran hot and artifacted). So, that leaves the CPU as the only issue, right? Or have I missed something? Sorry if this post seems a little rushed or non cohesive, I'm just insanely confused and tired. (PS. if you need video of certain issues, I'll gladly supply them.) I am upgrading my system to Ryzen 5 3600X? Is there any real world performance difference between RAM 3200mhz CL16 and CL14 because CL14 is expensive. Also, would changing the timings of CL16 increase performance?

I’m getting a pre built pc (because of the shortage Of course), and wondering if the Ryzen 5 3600x is good for gaming in 2021 along with the rtx 3060, in which is obviously good for gaming (it’s a 3000 series of course!). I’ve been hearing that 8 cores now a days is the standard for gaming with the next gen consoles using them, but will may 6 core cpu be good enough for the games now a days, or should I just upgrade to a Ryzen 7 3700x?

Budget (including currency): £1250 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming, newest AAA games like Watch Dogs Legion and Cyberpunk 2077. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): using a 1440p 144Hz monitor Should I go with an RTX 3070 with a Ryzen 5 3600x or an RTX 3060 Ti with a Ryzen 5 5600x (or possibly a R7 3700x) in my build? Both are quoted near enough the same price with the company I'm using to build it. All other specs are the same between the two. Which system is the most future-proof? Which would give me the best performance right now? I feel like the 5600x might be overkill for the 3060 Ti and I'd get more out of a better graphics card and worse CPU. It seems like guesswork to plan for the future since 5-6 years from now all of these parts will be obsolete and I'll probably want to upgrade both the CPU and GPU anyway. This is the eternal struggle I'm having!

Hi all, Just looking for recommendations for a 3rd gen Ryzen compatible motherboard (for a 5600X). Not looking for the best one nor the worst one. Something in the middle with decent performance. It would be paired wiith an RTX 2070 Super. Right now i'm considering the GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO. All input are welcome. Thank you.

Recently built my first gaming PC (on my own) and didn't take into account the power requirements of these new GPU's that were being released. So my question is will what GPU will the 750W PSU support with what I have already got. I have 2 1080P monitors and 1440p monitor for gaming (Gigabyte with amd freesync). I would like to get the new Radeon 6800 XT, the minimum power supply is 750W, but I don't know if that will be enough. Hello, Used SIV utility from Gigabyte and noticed that my CPU runs on x36 multiplier on idle instead of x38 multiplier: Checked with CPU-Z and it shows x37.75 multiplier which is very close to x38 multiplier: Why would Gigabyte's utility show different information? I even have their MB450 motherboard.

Hey guys! So Im about to build my very first gaming pc as soon as 3070 comes out. So I was wondering if I should buy the B450 or B550 motherboard. I will be using a Ryzen 5 3600X cpu with an rtx 3070 and 16gb 3600mhz ddr4 ram. Im not very experienced when it comes to pc building so I am just wondering what the main difference between B450 and B550 is and IF its actually worth the 50-70 extra $. If I buy a b450 tomahawk it costs 105$ in my country. However, B550 tomahawk costs 160-170$. Is it really worth that price difference? Thank you

Hey peeps, Might be covered already, might not. I can't seem to enable resizable bar on my system or correction. It is enabled in bios, but using the Nvidia system info, it says my system doesn't support it? Some articles state that the 3xxx series were able to use the function not just the 5xxx series. Am I going nuts or is something amiss?

So I've recently picked up Ryzen 5 3600x and paired it with Strix B450-F Gaming and Strix LC 360 AiO. For some reason, when I set the power plan on my PC to high performance or balanced, the cpu temp on idle goes up to 48-55, sometimes even 60. Every power plan does this (even the AMD Ryzen custom ones), the only plan that works fine is the preset Power Saver plan. I haven't oveclocked the cpu and it runs on default setting and voltage. Does someone else in here having this issue or something similar to this issue? I would really like to set my power plan to high performance to make the most out of my cpu and AiO. Thanks for reading and helping !

So after a week with my new rig ive dicided to start OC my bad boy called the Ryzen 5 3600x! And here is my end results based on personal needs and stuffs (mostly gaming on this bad boy): Ive managed to boost up the clock speed from 3.8 to 4.275GHz on 1.3V, 65C max on full load! Now ive tried to push up for 4.3GHz but that is achivable only when I set the voltage to 1.4V, that makes my CPU pretty toasty at really heavy load tasks (max temps went 85 at times, yikes!). All of my stress tests and oc tweaking was made with Ryzen Master and RealBench. Im using alonside my cpu a RTX2080 Super and Stix LC360 AiO! I would like to hear some of your opinions when it comes to OC the 3600X, and please share you personal OC setups if you have some!

I'm currently working on my new Ryzen PC and am experiencing the most frustrating of situations. My PC posts, boots, then randomly crashes/freezes/shuts down while trying to install my drivers and update my OS. Ryzen 5 3600x Sapphire RX 5700xt nitro Corsair Vengeance 32GB (2x16) 3200 mhz Asus prime X570-pro Seasonic FOCUS GX-650 Intel SSD 660p series 1TB Retail copy of Windows 10 pro After starting my computer I notice it would not recognize my second monitor so I figured I needed to update my graphics drivers. After downloading the installer and running it my computer freezes forcing me to restart. This happens several times until I decide to reinstall Windows. After doing that I have the same issues. So I figure it must be that I'm running an incompatible version of Windows because the retail copy comes with the original version. I try to update that to the newest but I just get an error telling me to tell again later. I search everywhere for a way to fix this and decide to try to manually download it and update it. It crashes several times while trying this. Once I played a video and lost power to the whole machine. It just went out like I hit the power switch on the power supply. I'm gonna try some other drives and see if that works. It just seems erratic and random how it crashes or freezes. Nothing is getting too hot from what I can tell and everything appears to be plugged in correctly and securely. I hope one of you can help me because if not I just have a very fancy paperweight. Thanks in advance.

Is the Amd Ryzen 5 3600X Stock cooler good enought?

Hey guys, So I recently got myself a Ryzen 5 3600x, paired it with 16GB DDR4 3600 ram, an MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus mobo, and a Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 AiO. Right out of the gate, no tweaking (other than XMP on the RAM), everything is great, the CPU is a beast! No overclocking the chip done by me, just leaving it on the default settings, and under load, it runs at 4.3ghz constantly and averaging around 55c for the temp. I downloaded Ryzen Master, and attempted to just turn PBO on so see what kinds of boost it gives me... well the answer to that is none! (less if anything) I turned on PBO and did some gaming, and was noticing it was not boosting over 4.2 ghz, and averaging around 65c for temps. ?? /shrug Am I doing something wrong when just enabling PBO in Ryzen Master, or do I have a chip that just doesn't want to be overclocked manually? (I have watched the LTT video where Anthony explains it all) but am just not sure why PBO does not give me an increase. Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Hey guys, So I have a Ryzen 5 3600x, using it on an MSI x570 Gaming Plus motherboard, using the stock BIOS that came with the board. Everything seems to be working OK with it besides somewhat high temps (using CoolerMaster MasterLiquid 240mm AIO). I've got it overclocked to 4.325 ghz on all cores, and have a set voltage (override) of 1.385v. Idle temps are around 45c, and when putting it under a heavy synthetic load, it averages around 80c, gaming temps range from 60-70c. Just wondering if updating the BIOS for the motherboard would be worth it, helping with the temp issue, and possibly a higher overclock? Or if anyone with this motherboard has updated their BIOS without issue? Asking because I have heard that some of the MSI BIOS updates being put out can brick the motherboard, and I am not wanting to get stuck in that situation. Thanks for any insight that is provided, cheers!

I am planning an AMD build. I am looking for a mid-range system, built around a Ryzen 5 3600 and RX 5700. My budget is around $900 (regional equivalent). I'll be using it for work in Blender 3D (modeling, texturing, animation), Unreal Engine 4, gaming (1080p), video editing, and screen capture. I am not interested in overclocking for the time being. I have some questions: - Contrasting the RX 5700 with the RX 5700 XT, I can see that the XT is the superior card. But where I live, the XT costs 24% more. At that price, it seems like a sub-optimal deal. How much do I miss out by choosing the RX 5700 over the RX 5700 XT? Which one is the better upgrade to the GTX 1060 6GB (my current GPU)? Is there any reason to opt for the Nvidia equivalent (RTX 2060)? - Is the B450 a good motherboard for this system? If not, which one would you recommend? - What kind of RAM is optimal? Is 16GB enough? - Which case and PSU would you recommend, and what are the ideal PSU specs I should be looking for? (I am not interested in RGB, just a stable case with decent cooling) - From what I've seen online, it seems as though the Ryzen 5 3600X is not worth the ~$50 difference over the vanilla 3600. Is it? Tech Deals crowned the 3600X as the "New King", presumably dethroning the i7 9700K. So I can't be too sure if the X is not worth it. This is the cost of the components so far (converted to US Dollars for convenience) - Ryzen 5 3600 -- $239.87 - MSI Radeon RX 5700 -- $430.54 - Ryzen 5 3600X -- $299.65 - Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT -- $536.56 Finally, is there a reason to wait? Is there a reason to believe there will be a price drop within the next month or two, and, conversely, is there a reason to believe that demand will eventually inflate the prices (like it happened with Pascal architecture and Intel's chips two years ago)? Katarn

Have red a number of news about PS5 due to be released in fall of 2020. From TechRadar Oct 8 2019: Full article here. From WccfTech Oct 9 2019: Full article here. From Tom's Hardware Oct 26 2019: Full article here. Given SONY has selected the Ryzen Zen2 8C/16T architecture, would that be a crazy idea to build a PC rig based on the R7 3700X? Your opinions.
