I built this PC back in December of 2020. It ran perfectly with no issues that I can recall. Here lately though, whenever a game is run, it opens nicely, runs well with no lagging or tearing, and the clock speeds and alike for the system have all well been within normal operating parameters; suddenly the screens (3 screens connected using display ports) go black and I'm greeted by the boot screen again. (The one you see when you start/restart your computer). There were a few other issues that arise as the crashes stared up to. The SATA ports on my ROG STRIX BF450-F Motherboard all stopped working except for two. Finally found the culprit -> The latest BIOS update auto-enables fast boot and CPU overclocking (auto). With those two disabled, the SATA ports all work again, but haven't fixed the rebooting issue... I've done the driver updates for CPU, GPU, BIOS, Chipsets, USB hubs, Bluetooth, and Reinstalled Windows. I even went as far as to revert back to a 2020 version of bios and all respective drivers for the rig, but nothing worked. (All drivers and BIOS up to date now.) I've cleared all errors in the windows "Event Viewer" and there are no pending critical errors being posted other than EVENT 86 and EVENT 46. Event 86: SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for WORKGROUP\G-RIG001$ via https://AMD-KeyId-578c545f796951421221a4a578acdb5f682f89c8.microsoftaik.azure.net/templates/Aik/scep failed: GetCACaps... (Windows states that it's an AMD issue) Event 46: Computer yelling at me to stop having the power turn off unexpectedly After pulling my hair out and trying to diagnose this issue myself, I've run a series of tests using Cinebench, Heaven, and MemTest5. So far my conclusions for: 1.) Cinebench - (Monitored with AMD Ryzen Master) Ran with multi-core option ~5 times for 10 mins each time. No crash. No wavy clock speeds, and now dips /raises in CPU temp. - I believe the CPU is fine in this instance. 2.) MemTest5 - Ran tests for all aspects of the 24gb of RAM. No fails detected by program. - I believe the RAM is fine. 3.) Heaven Benchmark 4.0 (Basic Edition) - (Monitored with AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition) Video starts off choppy and slow as each new transition loads in. Noticed the GPU Utilization was ranging from 0% to 80% to 100%, then back down to 0% quite wildly as the sample intervals were set to show every 0.5 seconds. 3.a.) Stopped the Heaven from playing and started it up again after it running for about 7 minuets of the first run. Video loaded smoothly and everything seemed fast and quick. GPU Utilization ranged from 100% to 80% (mainly 100%). This lasted for about 18 minuets and then the system crash -> automatic reboot happened again. 3.b.) Started Heaven again, but had the GPU overclocked through AMD Adrenaline. Same result as "3.a" only there hasn't been a crash in about 2 hours now. (Note - No Overclocking is ever used when playing games or anything on this PC.) 3.c.) Used default settings for GPU again through AMD Adrenaline -> Ran Heaven once more and the system restart/crash happened again while GPU usage was at ~100% and all system heat levels were well within normal ranges. Note - Heaven Settings are: API: DirectX 11 Quality: High Tessellation: Extreme Stero3D: Disabled Multi-Monitor: Disabled Anti-Aliasing: x8 Fullscreen: No Resolution: 1920x1080 As I said before, everything about this Rig had worked well for about a year and a half. Not sure why it would even be having this sort of issue now. I'm attaching some images of the computer build here as well as the PSU since this problem MIGHT be related to another post here: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1214710-help-pc-crashes-when-playing-games-and-on-heaven-benchmark/?tab=comments Specs: MotherBoard: ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming System Type: x64 Processor: AMD RYZEN 5 1600 Multicore O.S.: Windows 10 Edu Ed. (If I missed any spec detail, I hope it'd be in the images provided.) Sorry for the long post, but I'm almost at a loss as to what to do/try. Don't know if the PSU became "not good enough" suddenly or what, but... any and all help is appreciated. Apologies in advance for any rambling.

Hey everyone! I was recommended posting here after mentioning the performance issues I was having in Star Citizen. First off my system specifications: GPU is a RX 580 8 GB CPU is a Ryzen 5 1600 I have 16 GB Ram And 1 SSD as well as 2 HDDs I am also on Windows 10 Alright, so I've been having quite severe performance issues for a few years now (I got this rig sometime in ~2016), beginning with Minecraft, where I was unable to run the game with shaders at more than very unstable 40 FPS. Now for some reason I can run shaders just fine at smooth 70 FPS now, which I assume is due to an update to optifine, I still get massive lag spikes in MC, with or without shaders. Now more recently: I've been playing a lot of Star Citizen and I noticed that when moving the game to my SSD it took up over 120 GB despite the file being only ~72 GB. CP 2077 did the same thing for a while. I temporarily fixed that issue by reinstalling windows, it is now back though. Aside from that I get less than stellar fps, at about 15 to 30. Other people with the same setup seem to be able to play the game normally, whilst I can hardly dock a ship without crashing. And my CPU and GPU aren't even close to 100%. I have tried nearly every trick I could find: power settings, optimizing windows and Radeon software, reinstalling, overclocking, etc... Currently I am running the game at a lower resolution with AMD sharpening, min settings, affinity set to what this guide recommends (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/50174/thread/developers-hate-this-boost-your-ryzen-performance-) and having the game set to high priority. I am getting ~25 fps in the station but very unstable FPS everywhere else that range from 15-40. I would like to add that I can play Battlefield 5, Anthem, Valheim, rdr2, CP2077, and any other game just fine. Or at least not drastically worse than expected. Thank you for reading, I hope you have a great day! - Demo

Hi all, I just upgraded my Gpu from a gtx 1080 to an RX 6800, my system specs as follow: R5 1600 MSI Reference RX 6800 16gb 3000mhz Ram 550w Gold rated psu I realise my cpu and psu aren't ideal at all. After playing Warzone and watch dogs 2, my gpu usage seems to hover around 70-80% and my cpu usage 50% and in warzone, 1440p ultra settings I'm "only" getting 80 - 90 fps, in Watch dogs 2, even worse, averaging 50 fps on ultra 1440p settings... These results seem very low considering the gpu's capabilities. Am I bottlenecked by my cpu, or is this a psu issue?

Hey everyone! So about I think 6 months now i have had this Gigabyte a320m-s2h motherboard and ryzen 5 1600 and they have been working pretty well. However this morning my computer wouldn't come on. So I tested the psu with another system and that system work so I know it wasn't a power supply issue. I took out the ram, GPU and anything else that was connected to the system but it would not turn on. The only 2 components left that I haven't (and don't know how) to check out are the motherboard and cpu. When I plugged my external hard drive into the motherboard the light came on which I think means the system is getting power but when I press the power button the cpu fans does not spin, nor does the fan on the gpu. I tried plugging in the fans to a separate header, cleared the cmos on the motherboard by taking out the battery and it still didn't work. I don't know if this is due to the cpu or the motherboard as I do not have another system compatible with either of these. Is there anyway to know for sure if it is the motherboard or cpu that is causing this? Any help would be much appreciated! ~P.S.~ will the cpu fan still spin if there was no ram or gpu connected? I am sure they would but the motherboard would give an error beep.

So given the current situation my GPU arrived but my PSU is severely delayed, I'm just wondering if the included PSU in the node 202 is enough to run a Ryzen 5 1600 and GTX 1070 Ti with no overclocks on either? I've checked on pcpartpicker for the power estimate which should apparently leave me with a 120W overhead, but apparently it's a 80+ bronze PSU and nvidia recommend a 500W PSU. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Hello! For my pc build, i have a tight budget of about 35000 Indian Rupee (500 USD), excluding the monitor and peripherals. i was wondering if i should go for an apu, the Ryzen 5 3400g with integrated Radeon Vega 11 graphics, or if i should go for the Ryzen 5 1600AF paired with an 8GB Video Memory RX580 graphic card. i plan on gaming only, no streaming or competitive esports gaming. i want to be able to run games coming in the next one or two years as well like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. what option should i go for? p.s. im more naturally inclined towards getting the ryzen 1600af with the rx580 but i want to know if the 3400g would be suitable for my needs as well. thanks!

So I've revised my future gaming PC build for over a month now, but I can't help but wonder if I'm doing it all wrong. I'm investing in a gtx 1080 and suitable monitor, but I don't really have the same desire to invest in a powerhouse of a processor like a 7700K. The ryzen 5 1600 or 1600X processors look much more appealing to me from a price to performance perspective along with the potential for light content creation and/or broadcasting capabilities. Regardless of processor, both potential PC's would be paired with 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory. Would an R5 1600 bottleneck a 1080 enough to take away from the gaming experience or even by a noticeable margin? If so, should I downgrade the GPU or upgrade the CPU? Any tips and recommendations are much appreciated by this first-time PC builder. Thanks!

Hi, I'm planning to build a system with the Ryzen 5 1600. After going through some motherboards available in my area (India) settled on this- Gigabyte GA-AB350-GAMING 3. Picking ram has been somewhat confusing. I keep hearing a lot about ram compatibility issues for ryzen. Here are a few choices I've shortlisted with somewhat similar prices. 2 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz C16 Memory - Red (CMK8GX4M1A2400C16R) 2 x Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB DDR4-2666 Desktop RAM (BLT8G4D26AFTA) Klevv Cras DDR4 16GB (8GB X 2) 2800MHZ White led (KM4C8GX2N-2800-16-16-16-36-1) G.skill Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3000MHz Desktop RAM (F4-3000C16D-16GTZR) I would really like to get the gskill rgb ones but not sure if they work with ryzen and this board. Also read in a forum about the module itself failing, not just the rgb lights. Has anyone used this ram with ryzen and faced issues? Please advise... Another question is whether I can overclock with this motherboard? I know technically its supported by the chipset, want to know to what extent assuming the processor is good for it. Got a hyper 212 evo lying around so might as well look into it. Other parts I already have are: FSP Aurum 700W psu, Asus R9 280x DirectCU2, Samsung 850 evo 250gb and a Circle Stealth cabinet.

I feel like its time to move up a platform even tho this system is doing great from gaming to streaming and rendering. Is it worth moving to the Ryzen 5 1600 from the i73930k or would I see no real performance change? I have my i73930k OC'd to 4.4 ghz, Is Ryzen still limited to 4.0 ghz? Included my cine-bench score just for reference.

Hi, can somebody help me please? Does Ryzen 5 1600 support hardware virtualization? I thought it was when I read its spec sheet. I am using MSI B350M Mortar and enabled SVM on BIOS. When I go to Task Manager it says Virtualization is enabled. When I check CPU-Z, it doesn't state there AMD-V or anything related about what I turned on the BIOS in instruction set. I am kind of in a predicament right now and just changed hardware so I can multitask. I have a lot of development projects lined up and some of this are about to go into production and I need to conduct test. It appears I cannot do that using this processor. I cannot run any Android emulator, Linux or what not. VMWare keep showing error that I am running i686 CPU but not x86-64 (even though it states on CPU-Z that it does) and only show options for 32-bit OS. I appreciate any help!

While stress testing my cpu i noticed that HWiNFO64 showed that system and Auxiliary hit 92c, I've also checked with HWmonitor which shows the same temps. Added a screenshot of HWiNFO64 with temps. I'm wondering if the temps are safe or if there's something wrong with the motherboard. I know system refers to the motherboards sensor, but i haven't found a clear answer what temps are safe. After I finished a 3 hour 15 min stress test I was idling at the desktop and both screens went black, no response from keyboard, reset button or power button. Flipping the switch on the psu did the trick. Could the high temps be the reason for that? System:

Guys. I need your help. Please. I assembled my PC last night. Every connection has been given except usb 3.0 front panel header. But I don't know why the system is not posting. Is it because I might have broken the pins on the CPU while adjusting the stock cooler multiple times while screwing it. Also, I double checked that every connection has been given. I tried with single ram stick at all locations, but no use. Please help me

Hi guys. I've been using the ryzen 5 1600 with the stock wraith spire for around 4 days. Can you help me with these temps? Are they normal? IDLE: 30- 35 at the beginning but hovers around 40 -50 after around an hour of being idle.( I was just monitoring the temps using the Ryzen Master) Ambient temp: 30 -35 EDIT: I used the default fan curve

I have Ryzen 5 1600 on a MSI B350M Mortar and when I launch BIOS it reports 60C CPU temp. Which is weird. When I went off BIOS and launch HW Monitor, it reports 43C and 50C when I multitask. I am thinking maybe because I didn't screw Wraith Spire properly? I didn't screw it tight enough because I thought I might break the processor. Is this temp normal? Why is it reporting different temp on BIOS and on Windows? Also, temperature here in my country hovers around 30-36C as it is summer.

I posted similar concern here. So I am running steam on Windows 10 on a Ryzen 5 1600 machine. I can't seem to use Steam. Its very unusable. I was able to use this before just fine. When I launched steam (login screen) it appears to be ok, its very responsive until it goes into the main app. It is extremely slow. I can't seem to click anything and steam doesn't respond to clicks. The Web browser is a bit off, it doesn't load anything, it stuck and along with it entire Steam. Product notifications on startup seems to be dead as well. Steam responds to interaction every 5-10 seconds. I have no games install just yet, and well, maybe no more games since I really can't use steam at this rate. I tried deleting cache, reinstalling it multiple times, disabling DirectWrite etc. nothing seems to work. And its hard to experiment other solutions as I can't really navigate on Steam. Its just unbearably slow. I don't know whats going on. This is the only app I am having trouble with now. Any thoughts?

My current build is: i3-6100 @3.7 8GB DDR4 2400mhz 240gb SSD 1TB HDD Asus GTX970 Strix OC Gigabyte 1151 socket B150 motherboard Corsair VS550 power supply I feel like I should upgrade the cpu because it might be holding the 970 back in some games and I want to be able to do more with my computer "streaming", I currently game on a 1080p monitor with a target of 60fps. I've been looking at the Ryzen 5 1600 with a B350 motherboard or an i7-7700, also considering an i5-7600 but am not sure what is the best to go with or if I should be looking at upgrading other parts of the pc first.

Hello All, i am planning to upgrade my PC as my CPU is not good enough to play Mass Effect Andromeda. I plan to play games in full HD (Kingdome come deliverance - not yet out , Deusex mankind divided, Doom, Project Cars). I bit struggle (for 3 weeks) whether to choose RX480 or GTX 1060. Current rig: MSI 970A-G43 AM3+ AMD FX 6300 MSI R9 380 Gaming 2GB Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB (Kit 2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 Scythe Katana 3 Plan: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 = 262 dollars / 248 Euros MSI B350 Tomahawk = 115 dollars / 108 Euros Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz Cl16 CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 (or eventually Red version) = 152 dollars / 143 euros <<< According to MSI Website, these are supported with 3200Mhz for Ryzen. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-TOMAHAWK.html#support-mem Aircooler - probably Noctua NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 = 50 dollars / 47 euros or i stick with stock AMD cooler (did not see much info about R5 1600 OC with stock cooler temperatures). Remaining cash - i plan to buy SSD (M.2 PCI-Express) Now the dilemma : GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING-6GDG1, 6GB GDDR5 (rev 2.0) = 324 dollars / 306 euros MSI Radeon RX 480 GAMING 4G, 4GB GDDR5 = 251 dollars / 237 euros I read that VRAM needed in today's games is about 1.7 - 2.5 GB. But it is a bit difficult to say what happens in the near future. RX 480 4GB should be good enough for 3 years. But AMD Wattman windows reset issues keeps happening to many users ( Downgrade to Crimson 16.12.1 helped me to fix it out on R9 380). I am afraid that if i buy AMD GPU, i get same problem. GTX1060 is 80 dollars more, but does it worth it? Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi, first time overclocking, want to know if I'm doing well, I lowered the voltages to 1.35 because the auto settings was around 1.44~1.46, I'm planning on boosting up to 3.8 GHz. This is what I got so far Ryzen 5 1600 Msi b350 tomahawk 2 fans for intakes (front) 3 outtakes (is it a word?) (2 top, 1 rear) And also the gpu and PSU works as outtakes. How are my temps? Are they ok? Is there a way to make the cpu run at a desired max clock speed but that it also downclocks when not loaded ? -----------EDIT----------------- The voltage was ~1.45 when all was at stock, cpu working at 3.2 ghz with 1.45 v.
