  1. Guys, I just built my PC, and it idles around 40C. However, during games, it goes up to 85C, which I don't like. I am considering undervolting it. I have a Ryzen 7 3700X and RTX 2070 Super. So, I need your suggestions: How much should I reduce the voltage? If someone else with the same processor and GPU has undervolted their system, please let me know the voltage value you have set.
  2. Hello! I have a Ryzen 7 3700x currently running at 4.2GHz and 1.2V with an MSI B500-F Motherboard (Non-Wifi). I haven't done a lot of overclocking on this mobo and am kinda nervous to mess around with the voltage. I just wanted to ask for your guys' opinion on if it'd be safe to run my CPU at something like 1.1V or 1V. Thanks!
  3. Hi everyone, I have a Noctua NH-U12S CPU cooler installed on a Ryzen 3700X CPU and although the included Noctua NF-F12 PWM fan claims a max 22.4 dB(A), I can hear a revving hum that seems to exceed it (30-40 dB(A)). To avoid some hassle, I do not want to replace the CPU cooler so I am tempted to replace the NF-F12 fan with a be quiet! Silent Wings 3 fan for its claimed 16.4 dB(A). Has anyone done this before and how were the results, please? Good/Bad idea? Thanks! IberMagnus
  4. Hi everyone, I recently purchased a new RTX 3070 Asus Dual OC, upgrading from a RTX 2060 ko. After upgrading, my FPS on Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 barely increased. On every low setting, I am getting 220 average fps, and on medium I am getting 190 average fps at 1080p. Here is my system: ryzen 7 3700x @ 50 - 52 C | 4275Mhz | 40% usage RTX 3070 Asus Dual OC @ 60 - 62 C | 1905Mhz | 70% usage Corsair a500 air cooler msi b450 tomahawk max 32gb (2 x 16) ddr4 3200mhz corsair lpx vengeance ram in dual channel 700 watt 80+ gold EVGA PSU Crucial MX500 1tb SSD Nvidia Driver: 461.09 Released 1/07/21 For the following numbers, I used MSI afterburner to record FPS numbers in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5. ALL LOW SETTINGS: 24-01-2021, 21:45:49 FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe benchmark completed, 111113 frames rendered in 496.532 s Average framerate : 223.7 FPS Minimum framerate : 114.7 FPS Maximum framerate : 286.1 FPS 1% low framerate : 139.2 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 47.9 FPS ALL MEDIUM SETTINGS (also changed view distance to Epic, everything else medium): 24-01-2021, 21:51:18 FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe benchmark completed, 32743 frames rendered in 172.109 s Average framerate : 190.2 FPS Minimum framerate : 88.8 FPS Maximum framerate : 238.8 FPS 1% low framerate : 122.2 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 46.4 FPS These results are very consistent across multiple runs, multiple days, both on DirectX 11 and DirectX 12. I am on the latest Nvidia Drivers, and I used DDU to do a clean install of Nvidia drivers after upgrading from my RTX 2060 ko. I have Wallpaper Engine OFF, and virtualization (in my bios) OFF (it's worse with both of them on). What I've tried I've tried to turn XMP on and off for my RAM, going from 2133mmhz to 3200mmhz, and on 2133mmhz the FPS is really bad (around 200 on low). I've tried turning on and off "prefer maximum performance" in Nvidia Control Panel. I've tried turning on and off "Allow Multithreaded Rendering" in the Fortnite settings. The best performance I've gotten is 220 fps on all low settings with 1) XMP ON 2) prefer maximum performance ON 3) allow multithreaded rendering ON I'm really not sure what the issue is because I see other people getting 400-500fps with these pc parts and settings. I've run Geekbench for testing and here are my results with my RAM set to 3200mhz. I've also run Firestrike time spy and here are my results with my RAM set to 3200mhz. I've also run Unigine Superposition on 1080p Extreme with my RAM set to 3200mhz People with similar systems are scoring 25% higher than me as seen here on Unigine. If you've made it this far, I appreciate you reading this post and trying to help me out. Thank you all

  6. So my Problem is that I bought new RAM (3200 MHz) and I'm kinda doubting that I got the real product because on one hand -> Task Manager, parts of my BIOS and parts of CPU-Z are telling me that I've got 3200 MHz BUT.. -> HWInfo // HWMonitor and also another part of my BIOS is telling me that I only have 1332 MHz. As for my specs: Mainboard: MSI Tomahawk MAX CPU: Ryzen 3700X RAM: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B083TYS4TL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Basically I have been promised a 3200 MHz but I'm doubting myself on it and god please tell me I'm just stupid. I also activated my A-XMP Profile with no change I updated my BIOS I also found out, that I got sent two times the single channel sticks instead of what I actually bought the 2x8GB Dual sticks. (The Model number matches) Alas, thank you for reading and if anyone got a suggestion as to if I should get another RAM feel free to do so!
  7. Hi guys, first time posting here, I am a total overclocking noob, but I recently tried it after getting my new Arctic 240 aio, I was able to get a 4.3ghz overclock at 1.4 volts for my Ryzen 3700x. This overclock was super stable even after a 30 min cinebench test, and temps were at around 78 degrees stable. Does this hurt my cpu if I keep it clocked that way?
  8. Hi there, I'm looking for advice if I should upgrade or not my 1 year old build. The spec of my system are: -X570 MSI MPG GAMING PRO WI-FI -AMD Ryzen 7 3700x (@4425 Mhz all cores @1.3625v stable) with Artic Liquid Freezer II 240 all in one -PSU - HX1000 80+ platinum -GPU - 5700XT XFX THICK III Ultra @2048 Mhz @1.07V -256gb NMVE boot drive + 1000 GB 2.5ssd + 2000 GB 3.5 HDD -64 GB RAM overclocked @3600 CL16-18-18-36 @1.38v Crucial Ballistix RGB BL2K16G32C16U4WL 3200 MHz, DDR4, DRAM, Desktop Gaming Memory Kit, 32GB (16GB x2) x2 Monitor - Samsung 34" Ultrawide 3440x1440 with Freesync @75hrz It's double purpose machine. I'm using it for work (AutoCAD, Corel draw, Photoshop & all other office programs) and occasional gaming ( Heavy moded Cities Skyline, Witcher III, Dirt 2) Is it worth to rush Ryzen 5000 + Radeon 6800xt or wait another 6-8 months for the prices to drop down? Thanks in advance.
  9. #1 I just upgraded from a ryzen 7 1700 to a 3700x and when I boot the pc after putting in the 3700x the debug light for the CPU staus on fans at full speed gpu on but no video output and my peripherals dont turn on either. I've tried remounting 3 times. I've made sure all the cables are in place multiple times and the BIOS was updated a couple months ago. I'm at a total loss. Please send any suggestions my way. Thanks. I have... RTX 2070 Ryzen 7 3700x 16gb DDR4 B350 tomahawk
  10. Hi sir , I am from India . Few months ago I built a custom gaming PC msi tomahawk max ryzen 7 3700x adata xpg 3200mhz 8*2 rtx 2070 super Corsair rm 750 psu Since last few days computer is shutting down abruptly when idle and not starting . but if you switch the computer on ans run any render test or gaming it’s working. any heads up where the fault be in?
  11. Hello everybody, I’ve been wondering if it’s possible that I can put in an amd wraith cooler? I have an Asrock A320 motherboard, and I think it could, but I wanna get other peoples opinions.
  12. When playing COD notice that my cpu utilization is always 100% while gpu isn't, suspected a cpu bottleneck, so I ran cinebench r20 to check. It turns out my 3700x is only getting around 3500 multicore which according to cinebench is on par with 1700x. CPU: ryzen 3700x GPU: zotac rtx 3070 PSU: 550w GM sfx evga supernova (80+gold) RAM 2x8GB viper 3000mhz MB: ASUS ROG strix b550-i gaming When running the benchmark I can see that in ryzen master almost all cores are running close to 3900-4000mhz which should be normal? I sometimes get scores closer to 4200 but even those are few and far between. Usually its in the mid 3000s. What Ive tried, 1 enabling docp in bios, i turned off xmp before because it had some stability issues but must have forgotten to turn it back on. Now ram is back to 3000mhz, but it didn't help. 2 limiting power consumed by the cpu using ppt, xdc, in order to lower its temp. The temperature are lowered but scores are not getting higher still around the same score.
  13. My NZXT H210 Dual AIO build. SInce I had alot of uncertainties on the GPU aio process, I've decide to post this to help anyone attempting it. The CPU AIO is pretty common so no need to add to it and it pretty straightforward. The GPU required removing the fan shroud and heatsink with many little screws to wonder about. In my case with a Galax RTX2070 Super OC. I only needed to remove the 6 big screws on the back of the card and the whole heat sink assembly can be removed. It's was also held firmly together by the thermal paste and putty so a small amount of gentle pressure pried them apart. The AIO kit came with heat sinks which I stuck on with the thermal conductive tape. Most notably the VRAM on two sides of the GPU die were so close to the AIO pump that they had to be offset slightly to one side. Dont think it'll affect too much as its still 80% covered by the sink. Picture before i turned them 90 degress to give more clearance. All in all not too complicated though being my first time and all I took time to test fit and refit a few times to check clearances. Done! Temps for reference Ambient - 26 degrees celsius GPU idle 30-33 deg Modern Warfare 1440 ultrawide 50-55deg Superposition Extreme 1080 peak 60deg CPU idle 38-42deg Modern Warfare 1440 ultrawide 55deg Cinebench R20 (repeated runs) steady at 70deg I mm still wondering about the fan orientation with the current setup front 240 radiator intake with fans on pull rear 120 radiator exhaust with fan on push feels warm when on full load top fan on exhaust the air coming out of the case here feels cool at most times when on heavy load the it feels lightly warm.
  14. Fairly new build, first 2 weeks no issues whatsoever, booted first time every time. Now it consistently fails to POST after any length of time being powered off, and after a quick power cycle (press power button twice) it reliably POSTs the second time. I've never experienced an issue like this before and I have been through every troubleshooting step I can think of - more details below. I also can't find any info about what the issue might be after all the diagnostic steps I've tried - please help! OS: Dual Boot Ubuntu + Win 10 Home MB: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite (BIOS: F12f (2020/03/06)) CPU: Ryzen 3700x RAM: Crucial Ballistix 2x8GB 3600MHz CL16 GPU: Gigabyte Gaming OC 8G 2070 Super SSD: Samsung 970 EVO 1tb PSU: Fractal Design Ion+ 660W Platinum HDD: 2x Seagate BarraCuda 4tb in Raid 1 Other Storage: 750gb toshiba hdd, 120gb sandisk ssd, 120gb intel ssd Troubleshooting steps: All drivers are up to date I have replicated the issue with a different PSU (SeaSonic snowslient 700w platinum). All unnecessary devices removed, issue still persistent with just GPU, RAM, CPU and Boot SSD. Issue is persistent with RAM in reversed slots, and with each still only in first slot. Issue is persistent with XMP on and off in bios. I have of course reseated all cables, and everything has come out and gone back in apart from the CPU. I'm currently writing this post from the system, its completely stable after it makes it to POST. No OC at all. I get the feeling that I've missed something, any suggestions?
  15. I'm honestly completely on the fence, from what I heard the RTX 3000 series & Ryzen 4000s were supposed to come this year, but with the whole world on shut down I feel somewhat conflicted on whether to finally make my new 2020 build. I was looking to spend something like £1500 to £1800ish, aiming at a Ryzen 3700x & RTX 2070 Super for editing and streaming, possibly even trying a Mini ITX or SFF build, but have the prices on components started increasing? Anyone else in a similar situation where they're worried about getting hit by those ridiculous RAM prices a few years ago when there was a large shortage of supplies?
  16. Hey guys, As of recently, I have upgraded my motherboard, SSD and CPU. My plan is to upgrade more parts down the road including the graphics card, and run with some of my current hardware till funds became available. The system seems to be mostly stable while running in windows (64 bit) and while running furmark, however during games, I randomly get crashes, which all seem to be DirectX related. The weird thing is however, my old build is working absolutely perfect, including the graphics card. Because of my crashes, I have returned to my old parts for the time being till I have gathered enough info to really identify the problem. Some system info: Old system / replaced parts: Intel i7 6700k MSI Z170A motherboard Corsair Force SATA SSD Kept parts: Case (irrelevant, but a nzxt noctis 450) Corsair CX750 Asus ROG strix GTX 1060 6GB edition Corsair 16GB 2400mhz ram sticks (2x 8 GB) Replaced parts: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x MSI X570 gaming plus Corsair force m.2 SSD So far, I have tried to play both Final Fantasy 14 and Tekken 7, but both seem to crash and display direct x errors. (ffxiv shows a fatal dx error, tekken a 'd3d device has been lost' error). I have tried multiple things already, such as reinstalling my graphics driver, rolling back to previous versions and even reinstalling windows (three times), even updating my BIOS version to 7C37vA83(Beta version). I updated to the beta, since the latest version was already installed and the problems were there as well. By now, I have ruled out that my GPU is the problem since it is absolutely fine in my old PC. I have been looking around so far, and called customer support as well from where i bought it. So far, I have gotten a few pieces of advice, but I would like to hear more opinions in this regard. First option: faulty drivers. This one seems unlikely to me, considering I have had 3 seperate, fresh windows installations. These have even been with recreated windows USB sticks. Aside from that, multiple graphics drivers have been tried, but none of them work. Second option: A PSU problem This one could go multiple ways; Customer support has advised to also connect the 4 pin CPU connector. Since I don't have one of these, I have worked with the 8 pin exclusively. Since I don't have access to another PSU, I haven't tried any others. However since it works fine in my i7 build, I think it is just fine. Third option: RAM? I know that ryzen likes fast ram, so perhaps this is an option? Final option: Faulty motherboard? Considering everything else seems to be working fine, I hope this is not the case. It could always be the case of course. I would like to hear what your opinions are, and if there are any other things that I could try? I like to hear your replies! UPDATE: I've bought new parts for my system; 3200 MhZ ram, and a new PSU. The system seems stable now, so I think i have solved my issue. This topic can be closed
  17. Hello Forum users, This weekend I built my new gaming system and started doing all driver installations. After everything was installed i also installed HWINFO64 to check is all my speeds and temperaures were ok. All I did was apply the XMP profile for my RAM and other than that I left the system stock. However now I noticed 3 things that concern me: 1) CPU temps and core voltages seem quite high? Reported voltages and temps are from playing 1 match of Apex Legends (running stock cooler) 2) Memory speed reported is only half of the XMP profile 3) HWINFO reports my CPU as an engineering sample (I bought it new from Amazon.de) PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/N7fymq CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory Storage: Intel 660p Series 1.02 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB GAMING OC WHITE Video Card Case: Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2018) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit
  18. So I'm not well-educated on the performance difference between motherboard models and such, so I'm gonna reach out to the community for this one. I'm considering buying the new Ryzen 3700x CPU, but I'm not entirely sure what would go best with it in terms of money and performance. I am looking for one priced lower than $250 if possible. Might be willing to put in more if reasons are sound. EDIT: I think I left this topic too broad and there will be too many questions asked, so I'll add the specs I plan to add below. Four sticks of 32 GB DDR4 3466 MHz RAM Samsung 970 256 GB M.2 EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW3 Enermax Saberay Case EVGA SuperNova 850 T2 80 Plus Titanium Also, I'm moving from an AMD Threadripper 1950x. Don't really need the additional cores for the kind of work I do on my PC. Is moving to a 3700x reasonable or should I simply keep my CPU as is?
  19. Getting no video output or post after installing 3700x My specs are: B450 tomohawk MSI motherboard 16gb (2x8) Vengeance RGB 3200mhz ram Ryzen 3700x Rtx 2080 240gb SSD 2tb HDD 750w Corsair power supply, Windows 10 (currently not set up on computer) So all of the parts except the processor and mother board where from my previous build. I know everything works including the power supply and ram. The really odd thing is I had a friend of mine install his 1800x on my motherboard to update my bios after it failed to post initially. At this point I had already flashed the bios to V.17 (makes B450 compatible with next gen ryzen) however I thought the flash had been unsuccessful. Upon plugging in his processor the mother board posts and the bios shows that I did indeed flash it to V.17. This means that even though the Bios had been flashed it still wasn't recognizing my processor. We decided to update it anyway to a newer version of the bios (V.18) and then install the 3700x again. We successfully install the new bios and install the 3700x but still no post. All my fans spin up, LED's turn on, no boot loop. The only symptom anything is wrong is the CPU easy debug light and the fact that we aren't getting any video output. Mind you with the 1800x non of these symptoms were presenting themselves. We then decide to install my processor on my friends x470 to see if the processor is broken. He flashes his motherboard and everything boots up as normal. Both components seem functional just not cooperating.
  20. Hello all, I have decided to make a new pc in the next couple of weeks. This new pc will mainly be used for gaming, however, I will do some Photo Editing and Video editing along with recording and streaming. I live in England and my currency will be in British Pounds (As you should Expect xd). (The aim of the build is also to be black/white from the inside of the case and then hopefully a nice White case to finish it off) My Budget is round about £1300 and can be pushed about, however, not too much. With the new release of the Ryzen CPUs and also the new GPUs I have mainly been looking at the Ryzen 3700x as by what I have seen it is unbelievable for its price and also balances out the gaming experience while streaming or rendering in the background (YouTube Benchmark videos). For the motherboard, well what can I say. I can pick from a crap ton of motherboards, however, one that caught my eye was the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite at the price of £200, even though I could go for a b450, etc, this one just really caught me and all the reviews I have seen say this one is extremely good for saying it is £200. I have also gone with the x570 as I am not too experienced in pc building and I am justing starting to come to terms with certain things, so I am not familiar with my way around a bios and I don't even have a clue when it comes to "bios flashbacks" (So you can make a b450 etc compatible with the new-gen) correct me if I am wrong, so other than doing it myself I could go and find a pc shop near me, however, I highly doubt that they will do something like this. (I am sorry if I sound stupid) For RAM I am not too sure what to go for, however, if I had to pick I would probably go ddr4-3200, corsair vengeance since I think 3700x might benefit it more than having 3000 or lower, however, this came from videos I watched and they might be totally making it up, idk, its the internet at the end of the day. For the GPU that will be totally up to you guys as I have no idea where to start, don't get me wrong, I have done a lot of research into this, however, everybody has their own opinion and I would like to see them first before I direct you towards a certain make as that what happened with an old post of mine and I went round in a complete circle. As for the storage, well, I have already sorted that out, so don't worry about it. I will also appreciate it if you found a really nice White or White/Black case, at the moment I really like the Corsair Spec 06 and will prob add some extra case fans if needed, however, will be open to different cases. I am not looking to OverClock as I don't trust myself, however, I will practice in the near future on my old machines. This means I can save money on a CPU cooler as I will not need a top OC cooler for OC, but I could always buy a decent air cooler or even an AIO if there is money to spare. I am using two 1080p 60 Hz monitors, however, I will be buying some new monitors after building the computer. I haven't looked into it that much but I will prob get a 1440p 144Hz Monitor (idk if that will be a could choice) Thank you for taking your time to read this as a normal thread, "says budget, show current Idea then let everyone help" however just wanted you guys to see my view of things and hopefully you can help me learn along the way. (Wrote this at like 3 am sorry for awful writing etc). Will post my build after a decent amount of people have commented on their opinion/view. Thanks again .
  21. Hi all, Was wondering if anyone has received the BIOS update yet that fixes Destiny 2 not launching on Ryzen 3000 platforms, and if so what motherboard you have from which manufacturer? Or if anyone is running Ryzen 3000 but doens't have issues running Destiny 2? And if so how they did that? Thanks in advance
  22. I've been trying to troubleshoot this problem for nearly a month now. I bought a Ryzen 3700x and upgraded it from a Ryzen 5 1400. I updated to the most recent bios before I installed the new part. When powered on my computer will not POST and the CPU debug LED is a solid red. I have tried every compatible BIOS versions, tried to boot with only one ram in every slot, took out the CMOS battery to reset my BIOS. I even bought a new ASRock Phantom gaming 4 because i assumed it was an issue with the MSI MOBO. When my parts are installed into the new ASRock MOBO my system power cycles every 15 seconds with the DRAM and CPU LEDs on. This is also the second 3700x chip i have tried, i returned the first one for replacement but this second one is having the same issue. I am pretty lost right now and help would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Hi. so I built a new pc today, and I’ve done a few in the past few years so I’m not inexperienced. i built a Ryzen 3700x on an MSI b450 Pro Carbon Gaming. The flashback that I needed to do went fine, all of the build went fine. The software is problematic. so I’ve got a m.2 nvme (supported on the board) and tried to install an OS on there. Tried windows 10 and got a cannot install due to GPT error (no idea how to fix that) tried to install windows 7 as I’ve had good builds from that. Everything went fine until the select language screen where the mouse and keyboard stopped working (yes I’ve got them in the usb 2.0). I tried a trick with the drivers on the MB disk in a cd drive as that trick worked for me before. (trying all installs on a us. Flash drive in fat32) Ive got UEFI / Legacy enabled on all the area that I can, and I’m still not getting anywhere. any help would be greatly appreciated. build spec: ryzen 3700x msi b450 gaming pro carbon evga 650w gold 16 (2x8gb) Corsair vengeance lpx ddr4 3200 Crucial CT1000P1SSD8 p1 1tb asus strix Rtx 2060 oc corsair k55 keybaord corsair harpoon rgb mouse thank you, Gabberz__
  24. Hi, I have just buildt a new pc using the 3700x cpu by amd and the kraken x52 cooler for it. The base clock should be at 3.6 hz, but it is constantly running at around 4.2 - 4.3 hz. The cooler increases speed to what sounds like full speed every 5 seconds or so. I have the balanced power settings applied in the windows power settings. the lates bios is installed for the asus rog strix x570-f, and the latest cpu driver is installed. I would like to know how to set the clock to stay at under 3.6 hz, and how to stop the fan from being this loud + decrease the temp of the cpu as well. thanks in advance - Charles
  25. Hi everyone, I'm looking for help making sure that my component selection makes sense, and what better place to do that than here! I decided to commit to a new PC this year. We're in the endgame now, the reviews are in, and I see my future is with team red. 1. Budget & Location I'm in Europe, Czech Republic, and my budget should not exceed 1200€. Prices shown in the list are prices available to me at time of writing converted from Czech Crowns to Euros. 2. Aim 1440p Ultrawide gaming Games: Photo editing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Office work 3. Monitors One 34" Acer Predator X34P - 3440x1440, 120 Hz, G-sync, IPS Curved Ultrawide 4. The price has been adjusted. An alternative option for the motherboard is the ASUS PRIME X570-PRO, available for me at 253€ The Kingston SSD is actually supposed to be the Kingston KC2000 1TB, the price is actual: Also I know the PSU is way overkill, but the current price can't be beat. the RM650x is 5€ cheaper. What do you think of this part selection? Is it reasonable? Do you know of better options? Is there something I've done wrong? Or would you choose the same? Thanks everyone who helps!
