  1. Hello world! I'll do my best to keep it short and sweet The Setup: Win11 + 120Ryzen 3900x + ROG Strix X570-E Gaming + 2x16GB Ram G. Skill Trident Z 3600 CL16 + (RTX 2080Ti) + Corsair RMX850x 3dmark 4y ago when I built the setup: ~14500 (sure, cant truly compare apple to apples with older versions of 3Dmark), but I could see GPU Load all maxed out back then. Sold a kidney and one eye and bought: RTX 4090 + MSI A1000G PCIE5 Run 3Dmark on the old setup and detected that the performance of my 2080ti was being really capped: My score ~8500 VS average of the community with same hardware: ~14000 Looking at the pretty graphs from 3dmark: CPU performance as expected (clock wise and CPU score), and temps never higher than 62c (eyeballing the graph). Clocks of the 2080ti: Consistent 1750mhz GPU Memory, and close to 2000mhz GPU Core, GPU Load: ~50% (eyeballing the graph), Temps always bellow 60c Thought to myself something was wrong, but who cares, I have a fancy new toy... Off with the old PSU, off with the old GPU. New PSU, new GPU, sexy and problematic single cable PCI5 cable. Everything boots up, new drivers from nvidia detected. Installed. Run 3dMark and I get... the same score range.. ~8500... GPU boosted a bit to 2800mhz, but seems to be averaging at 1200mhz. GPU Core temp max 48c. I think to myself, whatever... who cares about synthetic benchs? I boot up No Man's Sky, and I was having around the same FPS I had with the 2080ti! (at 4K, 70ish FPS). Ah... poorly optimized game.. sure... Cyberpunk.. crank everything up... (high quality than I used to play) and I get around the same FPS I had before! (At least the raytracing eye candy didn't seem to have impact in the performance). Thats when I went down the rabbit whole: Was it g-sync? No. Was it power profile of the computer? No. Was it the old BIOS? update to latest: No. Is it the CPU virtualization that I need to run docker containers? No. Was it the overclocked RAM? No. High activity of some random program on the background? No. Swamp the RAM sticks - their position between themselves- No Windows pending updates? No Should have removed all the graphic drivers before installing the new one? No worries, nuke windows and install it again: No Some power limit set? Install MSI afterburner, confirm power limit set to 100%: No Use MSI afterburner to train the Overclock curve and maybe it will work? No Was my cat seating on top of the computer? No Am I leaving performance on the table by pairing a 4090 with an old system? Yes, but I need to wait for my Kidney and eye to regenerate to sell them again (that's how it work, right?... right?) What makes things more interesting, is that in the miserable score I get, in the distribution graph that shows the scores of ppl with the same core hardware I have, it shows a little bump around my poor score, indicating that there is a fair number of people getting the same kind of scores that I get. Attached you can see the screenshots of the detailed results of 3DMark. I've also attached the 3dmark result files (if you want to open them with 3dmark to check all the details). My goal really isn't to use 3dmark as the source of all truth and reality (although I did put most focus on it, cuz it's the only instrumentation I got) but gaming is also showing that something is not ok. My knowledge, limited experience in debugging these issues, and whatever ability I have in googling things, leave me at thinking that ... maybe the motherboard is having a problem? But it's I don't know what best way to debug from here. Any tool that is able to capture more detailed information on what's happening with the card? Perhaps power delivery? I have no idea where to pick this from. I'm hopping that this community is able to help me, and all the other 3dmarkers that seem to be having the same problem, and I have a feeling that there might be people on a budget that might be extending themselves so they can enjoy their games, and be facing the same issue. The truth is that over the last 4 years, I went through a backlog of games, and I'm not able to tell when I started having this issue with the 2080ti. Jumping from old games, to AAA games, I believe that I just didn't notice performance drop, and accepted the underutilized reality of my 2080ti, since before this built I had not been playing for 10y. Thanks for reading all the way here, thanks in advance if you chose to help, and now I'll go curl into a ball and cry myself a river. 2080ti - 3DMark-TimeSpy-8651-20230725214529.3dmark-result 4090 - 3DMark-TimeSpy-8675-20230726171831.3dmark-result 2080ti when first built in 2019 - 3dmark-autosave-20190929205015.3dmark-result
  2. Hi, I recently ordered some memory for my new pc and read that it has been optimised for Ryzen 3000 series? The memory is Trident Z Neo 2 x 16gb 3600mhz cl16 - F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC. Will this perform as it should with my 5900x on the Asus b550-e? This is probably the most ridiculous questions yet as from what I understand memory is memory and Ryzen merely prefers a particular clock and latency, but just to be sure I figured I'd ask xD. I'm not completely sure if the "series optimised" branding is to inform consumers that it has been tested with a particular generation or if it's due to the memory having a particular brands' memory chips or something?? Sorry if this is a stupid questions xD Thanks for the help, Stay safe, Lex.
  3. I bought a tray type Ryzen 5 3600. I spent a day figuring profiles for CTR and saved it and reboot to see if it works. Everytime the OS is loaded I check with HWinfo64 that the max voltage spikes around 1.413V - 1.419V and even as high as 1.43V. I believe this is the Stock Ryzen behavior as it does this once the programs load and even when I launch Task Manager. And CTR does not kick in to effect until it loads, if I reset the HWinfo as CTR loads I will not see the spike anymore. Is there a chance this early spike will cause trouble in the long run? Also with the new voltage peak of 1.35V all core, some say its within safe parameters while others say 1.325V is the safe limit for Ryzen 3000. Is it also unsafe?
  4. Hey guys, So i upgraded my CPU from 2600 to 3900x. and as soon i start my PC. my GPU fans are like running at 100%. I am using. MSI x370 gaming plus Motherboard with there latest bios. 1.0.0.6 GPU=Zotac rtx 2070 blower edition Psu= Thermal take 700w bronze using 2600 i never had this problem like it use to do a (whoosh) but for like really low sound and for less than a second which every gpu does i believe as bios load or post happens. Now as soon i installed 3900x . this whoosh is way louder and lasts for 3-4 second right before mobo logo show up after that everything is fine. Same thing happen as i restart or when pc come out of sleep. In simple words whenever i have to wake pc Gpu fan goes high. I don't know if this normal or not , cause i found on other forums people had or have same problem with ryzen 3rd gen processors specifically with Msi motherboard users . I did try to downgrade bios i did it to (2019/nov) but nothing happened so i changed it back to the latest beta one. what should i do now. i can't upload more than one video and sorry for bad quality. in this video pc is restarting . and as you can see it loads vga later. i odn't know much. Please can someone tell me what i can do about this. Thanks alot vlc-record-2021-08-07-06h54m02s-20210806_154027.mp4-.mp4
  5. Hallo redditors ltt-people , I have very strange problem with my pc (doesn't know if this hardware or software issue). In order to use Ryzen 5000 series on my MoBo , I need to update my BIOS at least to version p1.20 (p1.90 is latest). I have currently p1.10 and spare CPU that can run on p1.10 and theoretically can be updated to p1.20 and higher. I've already tried 3 different BIOS version (1.20,1.50,1.90) and I always receive messages that update was successful . But when I check my BIOS or msinfo32 BIOS-Version stays unchanged. What should I do in this situation ? Am I stupid and constantly overseeing something or is this some issue with my software or hardware? My current setup is: ASRock B550 Steel Legend - bios p1.10 (from 20/06/2020) - doesn't support Ryzen 5000 series Ryzen 3 3200G (was bought for 50€ only to test other pc parts, till I waited for Ryzen 5 5600X and 3070/3080/6800) Ryzen 5 5600X (was finally bought in Germany for normal price) My friend's RX 560 4GB (to boot system with 5600X) OC 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix 3800 16-18-18-38 2xM.2 drives (one is boot drive) Super Flower Leadex III gold 750W Win10 Home 1905 Greetings from Germany
  6. Hi there, I'm looking for advice if I should upgrade or not my 1 year old build. The spec of my system are: -X570 MSI MPG GAMING PRO WI-FI -AMD Ryzen 7 3700x (@4425 Mhz all cores @1.3625v stable) with Artic Liquid Freezer II 240 all in one -PSU - HX1000 80+ platinum -GPU - 5700XT XFX THICK III Ultra @2048 Mhz @1.07V -256gb NMVE boot drive + 1000 GB 2.5ssd + 2000 GB 3.5 HDD -64 GB RAM overclocked @3600 CL16-18-18-36 @1.38v Crucial Ballistix RGB BL2K16G32C16U4WL 3200 MHz, DDR4, DRAM, Desktop Gaming Memory Kit, 32GB (16GB x2) x2 Monitor - Samsung 34" Ultrawide 3440x1440 with Freesync @75hrz It's double purpose machine. I'm using it for work (AutoCAD, Corel draw, Photoshop & all other office programs) and occasional gaming ( Heavy moded Cities Skyline, Witcher III, Dirt 2) Is it worth to rush Ryzen 5000 + Radeon 6800xt or wait another 6-8 months for the prices to drop down? Thanks in advance.
  7. Hey all, I built a new rig recently with a Ryzen 3600 and ASRock B550 board. No OC so far, I've kept everything stock. I've noticed in Ryzen Master that the stock voltages the board is putting out seem pretty high. Looks like it's doing up to 1.4-ish volts for single core, and when I run an all-core stress test, it's capping at about 1.34 volts. I've seen a couple posts such as this one on the AMD subreddit saying the max safe all-core is 1.325V. Is it possible the default voltage on the board is going to degrade my chip? Should I manually undervolt a bit? Thanks!
  8. Hi, I've decided to upgrade my FX8300 for Ryzen 5 3600 (initialy I was gonna buy the 3700X, but I looked at comparisons and graphs and for what I will be doing - gaming(nothing serious - aiming for high FPS) and productivity - it didn't seem to be worth the higher price) because it really struggles from time to time when I have multiple applications opened at once - I did not do a wise CPU purchase back then, it was my first time building a PC. I chose HyperX Predator RAM(2x8GB 3200MHz with CL16 - I think the timing/speed ratio is fine (but then again I know close to nothing about it)). I don't know about the motherboard though(B450 vs. X470). I don't really need wifi or bluetooth - I would fancy having USB-C port for my RF headphones receiver. Also I need M.2 port for an extra drive. Good VRMs cooling is must have too, I don't think I will be overclockin that much though. I was looking for a while and found the Asus Strix Gaming MB, which seemed fine, but the price for X470 one was kind of high. My budget is somewhere in between $200 and $225. My current system: I really appreciate all replies. Sincerely, Peter.
  9. Hi everyone! It's been a while since last time, now I'm finally down to the right components (I hope), I will explain my choice for each one, just to get a feedback from you guys and what do you think. Location: Italy Shop: Amazon/bpm-power (when not listed amazon price it means I used the cheaper listing from BPM italy) scope: Mainly Gaming, I have a Valve index I can drive good enough with my GTX 1070 OC but I'm held back by my i5-3570k so I'm upgrading to a new pc. Budget: whatever makes sense, I mean, I can spend 800 but 1000 is fine too, but is it really worth it or it's just flashy rgb and snake oil? the more I can save up the more I'll spend on the GPU upgrade in the future. I went from an HD 5770 to a Gtx 1070, I'm good at waiting lol PCPartPicker Part List: https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/QWtkmg CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 3.9 GHz 8-Core Processor (€333.99 @ Amazon Italia) Motherboard: MSI X570-A PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard (€178.98 @ Amazon Italia) Memory: Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory (€107.99 @ Amazon Italia) Case: Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case (€94.00) Power Supply: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (€96.00) Total: €810.96 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-04-22 14:30 CEST+0200 CPU: I know, it's Overkill. I originally was aiming for the 3600, but since I have the budget for it I checked out the Silicon Lottery Matisse binning I s I said whatever, I will step up and get the 3800x over the 3700x because 30€ difference for a 200Mhz increase and the improved cooler* CPU Cooler*: Many of you said that the Wraith stock is good enough, and while I do not plan to have any heavy workload, except enabling PBO to get that boost in clock speed I can try and live with the stock cooler. I can't seem to find idle noise levels but if it gets louder than the case fans on idle I will get a better one (Scythe makes good and easy to install quiet heatsinks, I will probagly go with them) -feel free to recomend a good cooler you think might serve a better job- Motherboard: this is the weak point. I am not sure what to get. I do need S/PDIF out since I have an AVR receiver for the surround. (and apparently it's the easiest method, HDMI pass-tru will kill higher refresh rates) I also checked the difference between x570 and b450. PCIe 4.0 seems more like a marketing or useless spec for the moment and also won't be doing anything crazy with storage or network. and future PCIe 4 gpus will still work on 3.0 since it's not saturated yet IIRC. and given how an high-end b450 motherboard lands over 150€ anyway, I might as well go for a low-mid x570 and enjoy the extra ports/features RAM: budget rev-E 3600 memory kit, better than some cjr/djr I found with good XMP profile, lower TRC and more room to tweak, I hope to get some CAS improvement, otherwise they fit perfectly the purpose for a Zen 2 cpu. Case: honestly I don't care that much, this one is smaller, does not have wasted space for front bay or HDDs, easy to move around, no panel (might get the panel version due to stock availability) so quieter and front mesh with good dust filters all around it. also given the brand and some install video it will be easier to work with compared to cheaper cases that will shred your fingers or have odd hole placements. PSU: I picked a 550W from the reccomended Tier list and it was under 100€ good for me. Storage: ??? I'm still looking for a good cheap (but with cache and reliable) SSD around 100-120€, possibly 1Tb so i can put a partition for windows and everything else for programs and games. I have 2 extra 500GB sata SSD that I can slap inside for more storage and a 2Tb HDD for backups or huge torrent media files. let me know if I forget something or you have some ideas/warning for the Motherboard.
  10. Hi all. Had this build since around launch of ryzen 3000 with the following specs Asus Crosshair VIII Hero (non WI-FI) x570 motherboard AMD Ryzen 3900x EVGA XC Ultra NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti Corsair RM850i power supply G.SKILL TridentZ Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 3600MHz Noctua NHD-15s CPU Cooler Samsung 970 plus m.2 NVME SSD Since last night, i havent been able to get my pc to post into bios or display anything, All fans go on full blast, showing LED indicators while also showing the AURA RGB lighting on the motherboard. Updated to the latest BIOS using usb flashdrive March 2020 build. Q code from motherboard shows D6 error with yellow LED for DRAM error. Tested 2080 Ti into another computer which is working fine. Re-seated the graphics card Booted with one memory module Shuffled the memory modules Discharged the caps by pressing and holding the start button Swapped PSUs which is working Not sure how to troubleshoot if it is either my ryzen 3900x or my x570 motherboard are faulty. Thanks in advance.
  11. Hello, I have build my First PC and have a weird problem: On Tuesday I changed my CPU Cooler and after doing that my PC would either not post at all or crash after ~2mins on the desktop. Screen would turn black, GPU Fan would ramp up to 100% and the CPU-LED on the mobo was lit. I fixed that with one of two things (I did both at the same time so idk what is was): 1. Pulled the CPU-Power plug out and in 2. Loosened the CPU-Cooler screws (was pretty sure i overtightened) One of the two fixed the problem, until today, It randomly did it again 3 times. The 4th time it booted normally, I did pull my PC a bit forward, bc it was close to the wall and I thought maybe the Power Cable was being bent or smth, I am really unsure why that happened all of the sudden today again and the past couple of days it didn't eventhough I literally didn't change anything. Parts: RTX 2060 super Ryzen 7 3700X MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max Cooler Master Reactor 650W 80+ Gold If someone has a clue, please help, I will keep you updated if it happens again. UPDATE: I read a Lot and I'd guess it's either a RAM issue (I read that msi has a habit of liting the CPU_LED when it's actaully RAM) or my best guess: the latest BIOS is bugged, I have read it multiple times (Tho only months ago) that the latest MSI Bios of some Boards produces exactly this behaviour with Ryzen 3000 (eventhough the BIOS should make support for 3000 better not worse) Maybe Someone has some experience with this Board and this BIOS Version or some Parts to try it out? I only have what I have.. One Source:
  12. I have a friend who just a little under a year ago built a PC using a parts list I gave him. Here are the specs: OS: Windows 10 Pro X64 Mobo: MSI X570-A PRO (used to be Gigabyte X570 Gaming X) CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3200MHz (have it running with XMP settings) GPU: MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z PSU: Corsair 650M SSD: Kingston A400 240GB HDD: 1TB WD (7-8 years old, from original PC) Case: Thermaltake Commander C31 TG Snow Peripherals/Monitors: KB: Razer BlackWidow (2015) Mouse: Razer DeathAdder (2015 also) Monitors: - LG 144HZ 1080p (bought a while after his PC was built) - some old 60Hz 1080p monitor - old Vizio 720p TV - drawing tablet with display - newer 1080p Logitech camera So as the title says, this PC has never really been stable. He kept getting BSOD after BSOD, even after BIOS updates. Basically gets a BSOD a week on average. Since the beginning I would run the default "FIX BSOD FAST AND EASY" commands: `sfc /scannow` (occasionally turned up with finding corrupt files and fixed them) the `chkdsk` command (never found issues) I also ran the built in Windows RAM test. It came up with no issues. All of this did nothing. About 2 months ago we fresh installed Windows 10, thinking maybe something got corrupt. No dice. 3-ish weeks ago, after seeing issue after issue and some rather amateur BSOD checking by myself, I thought it was a faulty motherboard (I really should've asked for help sooner). So we swapped out the gigabyte one with the MSI one listed in specs. Performed BIOS update, reinstalled Windows, installed all drivers. Still crashing. We tried reinstalling again with a fresh copy of Windows. The computer BSOD during the install! What was different with this time was that we had always unplugged the hard drive before reinstall of Windows, as to not somehow accidentally wipe that drive since he had a lot of games and backed up documents and pictures and whatnot. Needless to say, the installation had to be done over again from scratch. This time, with the hard drive unplugged. No crashes. This got me looking into old drives causing BSOD and there were a lot of people saying stuff like, "yeah basically old drive = crash," and I thought to myself, "FINALLY! We figured it out." NOPE. After this windows install, we only installed a couple programs: Steam, Discord, Epic Games, Spotify, along with a couple games that he likes to play: Minecraft, Rocket League, and For the King. He also unplugged literally everything from his PC, except his 144Hz monitor. It seemed that the closer we got to finding this issue, the more the PC would crash. At one point it crashed about 3 times in 5 minutes, nothing was plugged in except that 144Hz monitor, and his keyboard and mouse. The last 3 minidumps are attached. EDIT: Problem solved. minidumps.zip
  13. So basically, I have a ryzen 3 1200 that I want to replace with a Ryzen 5 3600. I updated my bios to the most recent one and switched the cpus but after I start the computer, it doesnt want to boot. The problem is in the cpu or the compatibility because when I put back my ryzen 3 1200, it works perfectly. Also theres the VGA ez debug light on when the ryzen 5 3600 is on. Please help :(.
  14. Hey LTT Community, so i just switched from intel to amd which was a very good choice. But im experiencing one problem. When im playing, my Noctua Nh-u12s is cooling my ryzen 5 3600 excellent at around 63-65°C, but it always suddenly jumps up to 73°C and then goes down again. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? What can i do to stop my processor doing that
  15. I mainly use for gaming and 3d sculpt, rendering and modeling. So what you guys think ? I'm not like desperate, i just want a better cpu to play games at 2k 60fps or 144 if i can. current rig : ryzen 7 2700x, rtx 2070 not super, 16 gb ram, ssd with hdd and motherboard rog crosshair viii hero.
  16. Hi, i got a small problem, i am cheap af. I am going to buy a x470 msi carbon board. The problem is that it doesnt have a Bios Flashback. So i need a CPU to flash it. The retailer wants 37€ so i can not request a Boot Kit from AMD. If anybody in Germany is willing to send a am4 compatible CPU (as rental for a small fee or sell a athlon 200GE) , i would be really happy. Thank you in advance, Tim
  17. So I'm looking into a budget build, and want to go for a ryzen 3 3200G. Great processor for the money, but scince it is third gen (Zen 2) It needs a BIOS update Before using it with a b450 mobo and I don't have a spare cpu. I know that AMD offers a program for a free cpu loan, but I dont want to go through that hassle. Looking at some MSI B450 Mobos (MSI Tomowak to be specifc) and I Saw The BIOS flashback feature where you can update the BIOS without a cpu and just power and a formatted USB stick with the BIOS revison on it. So i could get this mobo's bios updated without the processor?
  18. Simple question here, I'm buying the following Ryzen 7 3700x Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Dan cases a4 sfx I was going for the flare x which came out with ryzen 1st gen I believe, trident z neo came out and looked like a priced up flare x and it confused me why there was even talk about the product since the extreme prices of it. Question remains what is the best set of ram for a ryzen 7 cpu, I'm looking for a good 3200 to 3800mhz cl14 kit for under 200 euro, something that will fit the dan case a4 sfx.
  19. (Asus ROG Strix B450-F, latest BIOS, latest chipset drivers, Windows 10) Just installed my new Ryzen 3600 and noticed that it is stuck at 4 GHz at all times and the CPU temperature continually "cycles" up and down, oscillating between high-30's and high-40's at idle. The vcore isn't locked but bounces around between 0.7 and 1.3+ V. My old 2600 used to drop to 1.5 GHz and stay there at idle, with the voltage regularly living below 1V, and that's how I want my 3600 to behave. All I have done in the BIOS is enable "global c-state control", set the RAM frequency to 3600 MHz, and set a -0.05 V undervolt - that's it. I haven't tampered with any clock speeds or other voltages or PBO or XFR or anything like that. I've been looking for a "Cool and Quiet" option but it doesn't seem to have one, and I've tried both Windows and Ryzen's "balanced" power setting with a 5% minimum setting. Does anybody know how to get the 3000-series to downclock through the BIOS and/or Windows? I'm not installing Ryzen Master - I don't trust it.
  20. Hey guys, I'm assembling a new build with temporary GPU and PSU and it's not posting at all. No beep. It just reboots every ~30 seconds. Here're the parts: Motherboard: ASRock B450 pro4; Processor: Ryzen 5 3600; RAM: 2x 8Gb Crucial Ballistix Sport 3000 Mhz; GPU: 8500 gt (yeah); PSU: OCZ ModXStream 500w. The PSU and GPU are a bit old, yeah. But I'm sending this message on them, so they are working just fine. The store claimed that they updated the BIOS to version P3.20 (for the Ryzen 3000 series to work) and the problem lies on my GPU that is too old. The tech support guy said I'd have to enable SR-IOV SUPPORT on the BIOS. Does that make any sense? I did a quick search and SR-IOV doesn't appear to have anything to do with GPU compatibility.
  21. Hello everyone, A few months ago I got an RTX 2070 as a gift and decided to build a PC based on it. Right now I have these basic specs: MB: MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC CPU: AMD Ryzen 2200G Memory: GeIL DDR4 16GB PC4-24000 [8GB x 2] CL16 EVO SPEAR GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Aero D6 8GB I got the 2200G while I was waiting for Ryzen 3rd Gen. And now I'd like to do the upgrade. But I don't to overshoot and buy a CPU that I won't be able to take advantage of. I was thinking about a 3600X, but I'm not sure, and I come to you guys for advice. As additional info: I use this PC for gaming (waiting for that sweet Cyberpunk 2077). Also, I don't mind much about overclocking (although I would do some of it in a few years to take advantage of future-proof components), but would like a recommendation on cooling as well. Thanks!!
  22. Will I be able to run two NVMe x4 storage on a B450 ITX motherboard / Ryzen 3000 without sacrificing the GPU PCIe lanes (x16)? I am confused on how many PCIe lanes Ryzen / AM4 are available for m.2 drives, since a B360 / i5-9400F can comfortably supply two NVMe x4 storage and a GPU @ x16 without any difficulty, while a B450 / Ryzen 2600 can only provide two NVMe x4 storage while the GPU @ x8...
  23. So I have noticed that no one in the media has yet commented on the fact that AM4 with X570 will support up to 40 PCIe 4.0 lanes. That seems like huge news to me, but it does beg the question of where all of those lanes are coming from. According to the chart below by Anandtech (Source) all of the announced chips are 24 lanes available - x4 to the chipset, x16 or x8/x8 to PCIe slots, and x4 to m.2 NVMe is the usual AM4 breakdown. So where are the additional 16 lanes? Are they all on the chipset and sharing that x4 link to the cpu? Or do you think their 16 core that we all know they have coming at some point will have more lanes? I'd love to be able to take advantage of PCIe 4.0 and the other Ryzen 3000 features, but I do need more than 20 accessible lanes for my next build.
  24. One mb about to be sent to rma, one i use that get's a bit hot on the vrms MSI X370 Gaming pro Carbon (the only one i could get within a few hours) Here it get's hot at 4.0ghz, which i would love to run my ryzen 7 1700 at until i can get a good deal on one of the new 6 or 8 core ryzen 3000, i want to run my cpu without my mb being the limit for the oc. https://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/8175/msi-x370-gaming-pro-carbon-motherboard-review/index10.html I could return my mb and get my money back, but i have to order a mb before i do that, since i have to order one from a place not close to me to get one i want, one that is in stock and for lowest possible price. What is your recommendation? ATX, 4 fan headers, spdif out put and cool enough to be able to max out any 8 core cpu without overheating (vrm), b450 or x470 chipset and less than 160-170 euros ($180-190) I don't have to mention that it should be ryzen 3000 comatible, right ?
  25. I just talked to a Asus representative and they told me my (Asus Prime x470 Pro) motherboard would not support ryzen 3000, is this right? Or was this guy just straight crazy.
