After i upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 1600 to a Ryzen 7 2700x sleep stopped working both in windows 11 and macOS (OpenCore Hackintosh), so a bug in the OS is unlikely(?) When i try to wake the machine up, it lights up, the fans spin up, and than it hangs for 3-5s before its rebooting. I get no errormessage in the eventviewer of windows. What can i do to troubleshoot this? I'm out of ideas what the issue could be. What are the odds that the cpu is faulty? I am looking to upgrade my current Ryzen 2700X CPU and am wondering if anyone has any advice or knows if I will run into any problems. Right now, I have an ASUS X-470F motherboard with BIOS version 5809 (needed for zen 3 CPU's). I would like to switch to either a 5800X3D or a 5900X, but can't tell if I may run into any problems doing so. My first concern is whether or not my boards VRM can handle the upgrade. Honestly, I don't even know how to tell if they are compatible or not. And on top of that, I read a comment or two on Reddit that said they had a similar setup, and their systems became unstable after making this same upgrade. Has anyone made the same or similar upgrade and if so, how did it go? Thanks in advance.

So I've been poking around forums trying to figure out why in Ryzen master it says my EDC (CPU) is bouncing from 95-100% and never goes below that. I've seen all the things that say just go change your power settings to minimum 5% processor doesn't do much if anything at all. My cores all 8 are running at full tilt above 4.0 hardly ever go below no matter what profile i set them Ryzen master to. This is my first PC build I cant figure out whats causing this and id like for my CPU to last longer than a couple months. So far temps have stayed in the normal range (around 30-40c) but any help would be greatly appreciated. Ryzen 2700x MSI B450 Tomahawk Powercolor Red Devil 5700 XT Corsair RGB 32Gb RAM Corsair H100i a

So by accident, I purchased a Ryzen 2700x Pro on Ebay for $120.00 u.s. Well I was sold a 2700x but what arrived was a 2700x pro apu. Now I bought a navidia RTX 2060 Super. Games and simple benchmark apps kept crashing so I assumed the GPU was faulty and sent it back to MSI. Would this APU be the issue??

Hello. As you read from the title I am new to this scene. I recently built a new PC hoping I can find something to do during the corona virus (Stay safe guys) and have ran into an issue with my PC. Every time I load up a game I can play the game for a max amount of 45 minutes until it crashes. The PC doesn't crash, the game crashes and sometimes says it was the engine, or Direct X. I am really confused as to why this is happening. I dumped a lot of hard earned money into this project and really want a functioning gaming rig. I am able to use every other aspect of the computer easily except for gaming more than an hour. P.S my specs are MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2060 6GB Graphics Card AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Processor ASUS Prime X470-Pro ATX Gaming Motherboard Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 RAM 3000 EVGA 600 GD 80+ GOLD Power Supply WB Blue 500GB SSD M.2 WB Blue 1TB Hard Drive Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Airflow ATX Computer Case plz help since I have nowhere else to turn to. Thank you;)

Hello guys, i ve got an AORUS B450 Pro motherboard with a ryzen 2700x. I got the chance to upgrade my memory to a 3600 ram, which i consider to be a very good upgrade and future proof for any cpu and motherboard upgrade, but here comes the question. What the maximum speed i can get out of that ram with the existing motherboard?

Motherboard: X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING CPU: Ryzen 2700X I built this half a year ago and recently it wont boot in the following manner: Tries to boot Fails to boot, power went off Seconds later it tries to boot again automatically and fails again I was able to boot the system by holding power and reset to reset it to the backup BIOS, after that I tried to turn it off and on again, the problem seems to be gone. However, the next day I found out I have to repeat this process again in order for it to boot. Now whenever I power it down for a while, I have to repeat this process before I can boot it normally. Might I ask what could be the problem causing this? Thanks for your attention!

Hello everyone, This is my first post ever after joining the LTT forum community and I need your help since I couldn't find any concrete answers anywhere else. Last month I brought a budget PC for myself with the following configuration: CPU: Ryzen 2700X (on stock prism cooler, with an aggressive fan curve) GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 (Aorus Gigabyte twin fan version) RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 3000Mhz (clocked to 3000Mhz) MoBo: Aorus B450 Pro Wifi (ATX) 1 x 256GB Aorus RGB M.2 Nvme SSD 1 x 250GB WD Green SATA SSD 1 x 1TB 5400rpm Laptop hard drive (that I salvaged from the potato laptop I owned before this build) 1 x 2TB 7200rpm Seagate Barracuda HDD Cooling solutions: I have 3 Antec case fans I bought and 1 corsair fan that came with the case. It's a Corsair 175R. Config is as follows: Two Antec fans at the front blast inwards, top Antec fan blow it up and out, and rear fan is also out. I live in Mumbai, India, with my room's ambient temperatures always siting around 26-29 degrees (yea I know). I'm an avid AAA title gamer and also a productive person with my work needing me to fire up softwares such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, FL Studio, Keyshot, Cinema4D. The idle temps of my build is around 42-43 degrees. Here's my problem: Sometimes, I have renders that take more than 20+ hours and my temperatures sit at 70-72 degrees for the whole duration. My question is - is that alright? Or will that trouble me in a huge way in the future? I do think about liquid cooling but right now, after buying this PC, my girlfriend will kill me if I invest any more money into a computer I have already taken the front panel out and that helps a lot with the cooling as it was around 76 - 80 degrees with the front panel attached. Also, for those few who need more technical details, please find some screenshots attached. As for the overclocking bit - I've left it to the motherboard to do it on auto for me; so on lower temps I get a nice 4.25Ghz on all cores (at least that's what it shows on Ryzen Master). Another last note - any game I play doesn't get the CPU this high, it sits comfortably around 55 - 59 degrees. I've played SOTTR, Far Cry 5, New Dawn, AC Origins and Odyssey, etc. So no problem gaming and I game only for 3 - 4 hours daily on an average. So please help me guys - is a 70 degrees on a Ryzen 2700X continuous for more than 20+ hours harmful?

Hi all, Will the Ryzen 2700x chip support PCIe 4.0 (when paired with an X570 board)? My brother is building a new rig for video editing and was thinking of buying a newer board for NVME over PCIe 4.0 for better speeds, and I'm wandering if it will even work.

Hi there! I'm new in overclocking and started this morning with the BIOS Overclocking feature of my Motherboard (Asus PRIME X470-PRO) by increasing the voltage of the CPU to match 4.200 MHz. The CPU works absolutely stable and reaches even under 60 minutes of heavy load just 52°C (125,6°F). I tested the system in that configuration with PC Mark and got the following results: 5901 Points https://www.3dmark.com/pcm10b/542563 After the first test, I tried to optimize the RAM by increasing from 2400MHz to 2600MHz. That gained another 50 Points in PC Mark: 5951 Points https://www.3dmark.com/pcm10b/542557 After that, I tried to step up the RAM to the next possible frequency but that results in a lower performance: 5920 Points https://www.3dmark.com/pcm10b/542586 Right now I'm not sure if there is anything left to overclock and most of all, as I am absolutely new to overclocking, I do not know how! As the CPU temperature is very low even with the 4.2 GHz maybe there is a chance to go even higher? What would be your suggestions on how to get the most of the system? Thanks in advance

TLDR; which build for streaming and video editing? 1080p or 1440p Ultra 144Hz, but might go 240Hz. No dips below 60 FPS. $1200 used - i7 8700K, Asus Turbo RTX 2080 (single fan blower style), 1TB SSD SATA, Geil 16GB 2400MHz RAM, no brand (cyberpower?) 800w 80+ Gold PSU, MSI Z370 A-Pro mobo OR what new self build up to $1500? Better CPU, RAM with cheaper GPU? AMD? __________________________ Which for streaming and video editing? (Twitch/YT) So it needs to handle running recording software (OBS, El Gato) or running multiple background apps while streaming and still getting decent frames gaming (not below 60 FPS). Will only game at 1080p or maybe 1440p 144Hz, on high-ultra settings. May get a 240Hz monitor tho. I can get a legit good deal on a 2 month old pre built for only $1200 i7 8700k, Asus Turbo RTX 2080 (single fan blower style), 1TB SSD (SATA), Geil 16GB 2400MHz RAM, off brand (cyberpower?) 800w 80+ Gold PSU, MSI Z370 A-Pro mobo Good deal for the 2080, I know, but is that set up (8700k, 2400 MHz RAM) good enough for streaming/editing? Or am I better off with a better CPU, RAM and cheaper GPU? I think a 2060 would still get enough frames? Was thinking i9 9900k and RTX 2060, but that would end up at least $1600 and still likely need to put more into cooling the i9. I've never used AMD before or know much about their parts, but I am open to using them. Ryzen 2700x or Threadripper? Don't know much about their GPUs price to performance vs Nvidia cards. I'm leaning toward the used build then resell it or upgrade parts later when Ryzen releases Navi, 3000 series CPUs, etc., if they are as good and cheap as they are hyped up to be. Guess my budget is around $1500, but saving would be nice. Mainly care about stream quality, and bearable framerates, and can deal with bit slower workflow of editing process. I'm in the US. Don't care about looks (RGB, matching colors, etc). Mainly play R6 Siege and ARMA 3, but will get into most trending titles soon. Editing software still not sure between Vegas or Premiere. I do know how to build my own PC, but not too knowledgeable on all these new parts, specs, benchmarks, etc. so just looking for build suggestions

My motherboard reports temperatures correctly in the bios as about what you would expect of an AIO, but no matter what software I use in windows, they all read high with large fluctuations in temperature, as low as 28C and as high as 50C IDLE, on an AIO. These readings are consistent with the STOCK COOLER I HAD ON IT. The air coming out of the radiator is still room temperature, so if anyone has any ideas on what could be causing these weird readings, please let me know. the AIO is a DeepCool Captain Pro Series RGB 240EX with sufficient air supply And yes, I tried Ryzen master, MSI Afterburner, open hardware monitor, core temp, and HWinfo

So for xmas i built my second computer. I recently learned that ram doesnt start speed isnt what you buy it as and you have to overclock it to have it at a higher speed. I have 3200mhz trident z rgb ram paired with a ryzen 2700x on a asus crosshair xii hero (wifi) motherboard. Now when i went into the bios and overclocked the ram i set to 3200mhz and pc wouldn't start. so i lowered it to 3000mhz and booted with no issues. So i was wondering why i cant get it to 3200mhz. any information or advice is greatly appreciated.

Will the Ryzen 7 2700x be compatible with the Asus ROG B450-I motherboard? I am planning to overclock this a little bit while I'll be rendering, although I have been hearing a lot of talking about b450 motherboards being bad for the 'X' chipsets of the Zen+ architecture. I could just buy the X470 variant of the same motherboard but then It'll be over my budget. Can someone help me with this build? I'll also be getting an RTX 2080 to accompany my Ryzen chip and will also possibly do 1440p gaming. I know all about this VRM talk about the b450 and the 2700x and the fact that everyone requires an x470 for proper overclocking, but I do know there are b450 motherboards out there with enough VRM to easily accompany the 2700x with just about everything.

Hello guys, so a couple of days ago i had posted a question about how the cpu was runnign at 60 degrees celsius on idle. I received answers that said that i needed to change the thermal paste and so i did. I used a liquid metal compound with the name of thermal grizzly conductourant . It worked for a couple of hours and then it went back to running at 55 degrees or 50 degrees Celsius idle. So i decided to change the thermal paste and bought a MX-4 thermal paste. (liquid metals are really hard to clean jeez). and so I used it . The same result, works fine to about 38 degrees Celsius for a couple of hours and then runs really hot. Then i again checked the thermal paste by removing the wraith prism and found out it wasn't spread properly.Maybe it's because the base of contact of the cooler doesn't have a thermal pad and is naked. So, I reapplied it and again the same thing happened. I have been re applying the thermal paste using different methods even spreading it evenly across the CPU for almost two days now. Nothing has changed. Can someone tell me what is it that I am doing wrong? Thanks, Anish

Hi all... This is the first time i'm writing on this forum and I need your help... My everyday PC have died (it's 5++y/o) and I want to buy a new system... What i already have from the old system that i want to keep is: 1. Cooler Master Advance HAF 912 2. 4pcs 4TB WD Green HDD (it got all of my stuff in it) and the rest i will need to buy, but here's the headache... I live in malaysia and the price for Ryzen 2700X is (RM 1319.00) and Threadripper 1900X is (RM 1359.00). I mostly use this system for my everyday use, gaming when I'm bored (not online games), watch anime and some other stuff... My problem is what should i get? The price only RM40.00 difference... Any good advice (especially from Linus) Thanks For your Help Bomberman00 P.S. Not going to overclock

I've been thinking of upgrading my CPU, however I'm not fully sure which one to get, or even, if it's worth upgrading at all. Initially, I wanted to go for a 2700x, as it seemed as a sound choice for an update, and since it's an AMD it's not too expensive. Then they announced their 3000 line, so I started thinking if I should just wait for the 3000 equivalent of the 2700x. Another option is that I just stay with what I've got so far, an fx-8350, as my monitor is 4k and 60Hz, so apart from potentially future-proofing, there isn't too much of a reason to get something that will get me way over 60 FPS in games. So what should I then do in terms of CPU on my current rig? Specs: CPU: fx-8350 Graphics card: GTX 1080 Ti RAM: 16GB DDR3

When I want to benchmark I'll use BCLK to boost the top end of my Ryzen 2700X. I've never seen a behavior where BCLK does anything beyond increasing my clock speed, but starting last night -- changing BCLK to anything above 101 caused (and still causes) the CPU multiplier to drop to 36.5 while still using the BCLK to set the clock speed off that lower multiplier. One thing I have tried is using asynchronous BCLK. When using it the CPU multiplier behaves as expected, but it isn't my preferred method of BCLK overclocking because it adds to RAM latency. Can anyone offer any insight? Edited: Removed my incorrect assumption as to the culprit to prevent causing any confusion to others.

Hi I just built my very first PC less than a month ago using the 2700x. I'm very happy with it and I was running a cinebench score. So I got a 1795 with my cores all overclocked to 4.177 gHZ with a max temp of 72 degrees celsius (it was at 71 for most of the test). Fans are running on the "quiet" curve and my cooler is an EVGA CLC 280. Can someone please tell me if this is a standard score for a 2700x? Is something off or does everything seem fine to you guys? I'm a novice with pc's so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks!
