Hi, I just bought RTX 3070 and I did some test on games such as Red Dead Redemption 2 while getting only 52 fps maximum on ultra settings. Im currently only using 16GB Kingston Hyperx Fury 2666mhz ram and Seasonic S12II. Im wondering is it worth it if I upgrade my cpu to 10400F or should I upgrade to 3rd gen Ryzen cpu & ram?

So I've recently been planning on upgrading my PC soon, going to have to replace the motherboard and all the stuff inside it. My CPU has been the most glaring part of my build since my choice was an i5 4460 paired with a GTX 1070. I've been wondering if I should get the AMD Ryzen 1600 or i5 7600k. My price range is about $80 - $150 dollars on either the motherboard or cpu.

Im on a very tight budget (around $950) and im not sure if the 1600x plus a cooler is worth the extra $75 over just the regular 1600. Thanks.

Hello I'm currently trying to OC my ryzen 1600. I'm using the stock cooler and I'm stable at 3.7ghz at 1.3v Question is I'm using aida64 to stress the CPU. According to aida64 temps were 70-71c. I switch to hardware moniter and ryzen master and both said 78c. Which do I believe? I am new to OCing and any advice would be great!
-
It's not overclocked, CPU-Z reports this core voltage during stress test, ryzen master reports 1.2-1.3 V (cpu voltage), are these two voltages the same?

Want to order parts soon, want to build a computer that can play csgo, overwatch, pubg, gta v, and destiny 2. If its 1080p medium settings 60fps, that's enough for me. Is everything compatible? Should I change anything? https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/f4C7VY Oh yea, I also already have a 1 tb hard drive. And I dont plan on going for the gtx 1060 6gb

I was thinking of buying the AM4 bracket and keep using the Hyper 212 EVO that I bought in 2013. I've been using it with the FX-6300 for nearly every day since then without overclocking. 25C-30C right now, 18C-25C during the winter. I don't mind buying a similar air cooler and I plan on overclocking the Ryzen 5 1600, but could I just keep using it?Also, is it wise to use the thermal paste that came with the air cooler? I haven't opened it since 2013. Is there a way to test if it's still ok?

Hello Everyone. Tricky question. In a couple of days I'm going to spend on gtx 1080, and then I thought about it. My Ryzen 1600 is enough for such a video card? A month later I'm going to buy a monitor Dell S2716DG (2560x1440 / 144hz). There will be no bottleneck etc? Can my processor use the maximum performance of 1080? Thank you very much

I recently water-cooled my build because it's something I've always wanted to do. It was working fine but sometimes would crash during gpu stress tests, and be unable to boot into windows randomly. I rolled back my overclocks. However after I rolled them back the screen would black again. Then eventually I couldn't go past stock clocks for both the memory and core. I took my graphics card apart to see if all the modules we're being cooled. Bought more thermal pads and reapplied them. That didn't fix it. WhenI could get into windows. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. No difference. I used older drivers no difference. I switched power supplies, checked ram sticks and individual slots. I used a friend's GTX 1060. And it worked. I reformatted windows, using my friends card, thinking that something had boinked amd the drivers. Even after a clean install of windows and the vega installed, I still can not get past the bios splash screen. I can enter the bios through my Vega card. And using the board explorer application I see that when the Vega 64 card is installed, the motherboard calls it a AMD PCI to PCI bridge. I have no idea how that happened. Is my video card dead? Is there a way to fix it? Is my motherboard pci slot screwed up and that causing the problems? Thank you for your help in advance. I currently have a Ryzen 1700x, but it seems that I cannot get past 3.8ghz with it and my Asrock X370 Taichi. I bought both the Taichi and the x version over the regular 1700 with the sole intent on overclocking. I understand silicon lottery and everything, nothing's guaranteed, but I figured since the 1700x has a base turbo of 3.8, I would have a decent chance of getting slightly higher clocks than that. I can get 3.8 at a relatively low voltage, only 1.29vcore with level 2 LLC. I can pass Prime, Intel Burn Test, all without issue with minimal heating issues. But the moment I try to go past 3.8, I crash. Even 3.825 is unstable. Being able to achieve 3.8 with 1.29v I figured ok, there's plenty of room left before I enter dangerous voltage territory. Unfortunately, all the way up to 1.41 proves unstable and I've read that 1.4 is about the cut off limit for safe voltages so I didn't try to push any further. Did I just get extremely unlucky, or is there something I'm missing? The Taichi is a little bit more confusing to work with compared to some other boards I've used, but I'm not completely new to OC'ing either so I'm wondering if maybe there's some cryptic, non obvious setting in my bios that I'm missing. I do have all of the power saving features such as cool and quiet, c6, etc disabled as well.

Motherboard: ASRock AB350 Pro4 CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 RAM: Gskills F4-3200C16D-16GTZR (2x 8GB) Since upgrading my motherboard, CPU and RAM I have only tried to run my RAM at 3200MHz once (by selecting the XMP profile), which didn't seem to be kosher as the PC wouldn't start. I had to remove the battery on the motherboard to reset the bios. I decided to deal with it later - and now seems to be a good time to give it another try. Couple of questions: Am I doing the correct thing by just selecting the XMP profile? Or should I be adjusting something else too? If the computer refuses to boot again, is there an easier way to reset the bios? Removing the battery is a bit of a pain as I have to open the case, remove the GPU etc. I am fairly sure I had the BIOS updated prior to trying the first time, but I have definitely got it updated now for my next attempt. Also I've been learning on the go about all this stuff for the past few months since I decided to upgrade my PC, so bear with me - I am still learning.

Here is my current build https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Ebob42/saved/ghmbvK And I was wondering which one of these two options I should go with? Or if you had a better recommendation in general price for performance. As a side note I'm trying really hard not to go over $110 on it. DDR4-2400 CAS 16 16GB (2x8GB Or DDR4-3000 CAS 15 8GB (2x4GB)

Hey all. I just finished testing my first new build and decided to overclock my ryzen 1600 with Be Quiet Pure Rock cooler. I managed to get all the way to 3.925Ghz with 1.41 voltage, but i felt that the voltage was too high for 24/7 use and dropping the voltage down even liitle bit caused it to become unstable. So I decided to tone it down. Now I'm at 3.875Ghz, voltages fluctuate at 1.346 and 1.352 on full load. I ran 40 minutes of AIDA64 with no problems. Does everything seem ok, is the voltage too high? Just wanted to make sure before I decide to stick with these clocks. Thank you in advantage! Here's a picture of HWmonitor during the stress test and CPU-Z: CPU-Z benchmark Gyazo link to HWMonitor during AIDA test

My new build doesn't work but I don'T know why... Everything is plugged correctly, compatible and in working condition, BUT I ALWAYS GET AN EFFING BLACK SCREEN FLASHING GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm enraged by that! I have a Ryzen 5 1600 NOT X, 8gb of HyperX Fury DDR4 2666 RAM, a GTX 980, a 750gb Seagate 7.2k rpm hdd. I can't even boot in BIOS or UEFI! also my mother board is the ASUS Prime B350-PLUS

Now please hear me out completely. I have a Ryzen 5 1600 on a b350 mobo. I want to have a cpu cooler that can support the load of a R7 1700 in the future. I plan on some overclocking, even with the b350 mobo. I am on a budget and don't want to spend more than $150, but want to spend only about $100. I have space for dual 120 mm or dual 140 mm fans. My case can only fit coolers under 65 mm in the case, so liquid cooling seems to be my best bet. I really need something that will not fail on me, because I am personally very timid with liquid cooling, as it could catastrophically damage my components. I have gotten other recomendations including the Corsair H60 and the NZXT Kraken x41. I have researched into it, and found that the Kraken 62x and MasterLiquid 240 looked good too. Thank you for your help and your time.

I'm having issues where the computer seems to momentarily freeze. It looses responsiveness and hangs, but just for a moment or two. Occasionally mouse clicks are sort of ignored and mouse strokes appear to render at 3 frames per second.I've just assembled this machine with a fresh install, so i'm running a lot of basic software installation and updates. I get huge hangs during installation when windows 10 prompts for permission to allow a program to change system stuffs.I'm tryign to decide if I need to RMA some parts, but I cant decide if its hardware related, or just typical new windows 10 install crap (windows spyware overhead, ninja updates ect).Additionally, CPUZ (both official and gigabyte version) report my RAM speeds at around 1200, While the app manager utility reports the RAM frequency as 2400. Hey guys, I recently bought a new mainboard (MSI B450 Tomahawk) and since then my PC just randomly turns off. It doesn't really turn off though. It looks like my GPU just gets turned off for some reason. My monitors don't receive any signal but fans are still spinning and the light is still on. The CPU LED on my mainboard turns on at this moment. This mostly happens when I play Battlefield V or Battlefront 2 for 5-10 minutes but also has happened during playing Anno 1800 for at least 2 hours already. I have already logged my sensor data but according to them, everything is just fine. There are no temp peaks on GPU or CPU nor voltage loss. I had Prime 95 run for 19 hours without errors and the FurMark stress test for 1 hour without crashing. I have also reinstalled my drivers already and tried with clean overclocking and undervolting settings. Nothing helped so far. Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem here? Please let me know and ask further questions if I missed some information. Hiya, I currently have this 8GB 2400MHz CAS15 RAM in my build. It's only 2400 as I originally got this when I had a G4560. For the last year and a half though, I've had a Ryzen 1600. I could really use the extra RAM as I've started doing more content creation back at home, mostly audio (Adobe Audition) but sometimes I'll try and do some video editing work from home. So obviously 8GB is challenging... Even without that I am often at 7GB anyway. So.. my question is if I buy a second stick of exactly the same as current, it'll actually run in dual channel right? Am I losing out on not going for a new kit which is 3000MHz +? (BTW I can get my current stick stable at 2667 but no higher) It's £51 now for 1x8GB or £100 for 2x8GB @3000MHz. Then I guess I could hope to sell my 8GB but it wouldn't be any time soon I expect.

Hi Gurus, I got myself a RTX 2070 and pared it with my old AMD Ryzen 1600. Without OCing my CPU I notice that there are micro stuttering in games like BF V and Apex Legends. (more stuttering in BF V vs Apex) With that said I have OC-ed the CPU to 3.75 ghz (max stable), there is noticeable less stuttering. Also did a fresh install of WIN 10 & new mobo , bios , Nvidia, etc... drivers & games installed in SSD. Does this mean that its time to plug in a faster Ryzen? From all the leaks I am tempted to get my hands on a Ryzen 3rd gen with all those news leaks going out there (digesting these with plenty of salt XD). Thanks in advance. Hey, I have a Ryzen 1600 with a MSI b450i gaming plus ac itx board. I was running this with a GTX 770, but I want to sell this pc so I opened it and cleaned everything. After putting it back together, it won't show video out. USB devices work, but no video output. Using my spare AMD R9 280 I boot fine and everything works. Putting my GTX 770 in a different PC, it works fine. I tried using a spare GTX 750ti that works and with that still no video out. The motherboard shows VGA light on MSI's ez debug leds. Unfortunately, I can't plug a mobo speaker to hear beebs, but it's definitely a motherboard problem. I've already tried resetting cmos, DDU'ing drivers, reseating cpu & ram, etc. Thanks boys.
