I have an "upgrade as budget allows" system that I use for work-from-home (database, spreadsheets), but also some hobby-level, 1080 video editing (Premiere, AfterEffects). Right now, the system is: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 ASUS TUF x570-Plus Crucial Ballistix 32Gb (4x8) 3600 XFX AMD RX 590 w/8GB Crucial P5 NVMe boot/app Crucial P5+ NVMe scratch/cache Seagate IronWolf Pro HDDs in RAID for bulk data storage I've got about $400 in my current budget and was thinking of a 6700XT w/12GB video card, but the new RX 7600 w/8GB has a very attractive price that'd leave me with money toward a planned CPU upgrade. As I understand it, video editing is sensitive to VRAM. So, would the 7600 that still only has 8GB make a noticeable difference? Will either card give significant enough results vs the RX 590? Will I see benefit in my use case with resizable BAR from a new video card? Or am I better off going 5800X3D first, since it should speed up my work, too?

I've been struggling to find or even put this problem into words because it's so random. Basically in certain games (r6, warzone, among us, VRChat) some parts of the UI will appear with pixelated squares. Not all games though, rocket league and fortnite run just fine without this issue. I also haven't had this problem in the Windows, Linux or Mac. (I've run all three on my system) interface, it's always inside a game. Any idea of what it could be? Normally I would think it's just an issue with the graphics card, but since it happens in specific situations I refuse to accept that I have a faulty card VRchat and among us screenshots Configuration: cpu: ryzen 5 2600 gpu: xfx fatboy rx590 psu: corsair cx 550 (ill provide additional info if needed)

hi i decided to burn some money, and replaced my replacement arctic fans (drilled onto the shroud) with noctua fans (this time mounted with zips onto the heatsink). some titles torture my gpu with on my ultrawide, so i thought a fan on the heatsink with bigger static pressure might cool down 5 degrees. or just let me run at a lower rpm. the results? unimpressive. ive been testing my fan placements recently, and have some over ambient data (ill upload them as well later). the temps are about the same. the noise is kind of the same. if i cant hear the difference, no point measuring it. the most disappointing thing is the subtle whine/tone pule when the fans run above 70%. it is really low level, but since im in a quiet room these noise pulses are noticeable. like when a "laser goes back and forth, just as a quiet sound instead" if it makes any sense. this was the same reason i did the 1st mod with the arctic fans. the stock fans were terrible the tone pulse was noticeable at 19%. then on a diffrent day it was noticeable at 18%. so i was watching youtube, then that thing started to make noise cause why not. using 0 rpm was not an option, because it would heat up anyway sooner or later, and the fan startup noise was annoying too. so what do you think? how could i improve my temps? would putting the fans on the shroud help? its a lot of hassle with zip ties, so i did this post. now i set it at 1490MHz instead of the stock 1560, and reduced the voltage a bit as well. kombuster with cpu burner made it to 79 with acceptable noise levels. playing no mans sky uncapped put it at 75, with only 1300 rpm. thanks!

Hey, i want to ask you guys i have AOC C27G2ZU - 240hz monitor and RX590 GPU and in some games like valorant i cant play 240hz while using stretched res it automatically goes on 144hz even on my own resolution? All the time when i play valorant i have to change my resolution in win and then use fullscreen windowed to be able use 240hz. Where do you think is the problem? Is there problem with my monitor or with my GPU? (Can play only native on 240hz full screen)

I was wondering, what could possibly cause a early shutdown for a GPU? I currently run a RX 590 Fatboy from XFX, I understand they do not have the best coolers but that should not make it black-screen at 60-64° Celsius, meanwhile the rest of the PC continues to run undisplayed. Even had to underclock the GPU in order to reach any sort of stability with fans at 100% on case and GPU. Also having to manually lower voltages in MSI afterburner because stock at only 1100mhz it is trying to volt to 1206mV stock. Any ideas or solutions? Re-installed drivers twice, reseated the card, all other components stay cool, and purchasing a P400A to replace my Fractal Focus G in hope of improving case temps overall.

rx590 No image on monitor after sleep or automated shutdown.
kobux posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hello everyone! So, I am lately facing a problem that I don't really understand. I have been having the same PC/Build for more than 3/4 years. CPU: Ryzen 5 2400g GPU: Radeon RX590 Mobo: Asrock b450 pro4 Ram: gskill ripjaws 8x2 @ 3ghz So, i have seen that whenever the pc goes to sleep or i use a command to make it shutdown after X amount of seconds it wont power on the monitor after i try to start it, it just shows no signal. The only solution I was able to figure out is to connect my hdmi cable to hdmi out of the motherboard and use the apu to get an image, restart to safe mode, ddu and then connect the hdmi cable to my gpu. After i do this the gpu works fine, i even reinstall the driver for it and its fine. Im running windows 10 and i have tried many versions of the adrenalin drivers, all resulting on the same thing. When i say i dont get an image, i dont even see the initial asrock splash where it says the keys to go into bios or to select a boot device. I haven't changed anything on my pc for months now, it just happened a fews days ago for the first time and it has been bothering me much, i went and changed some stuff on the bios just to mess arround in faith that something might be it but not luck. I really dont know how can i troubleshoot it or get some logs to even help myself by reading them. Thank you all in advance for trying to help me! Edit 1: So, there is a switch on the gpu, i flipped the switch and now it worked fine? I am really confused. Supposedly it changes the clock speeds as a fail safe but i am now checking them and they are the same. Edit 2: With the switch flipped i updated to the latest WHQL amd driver through the adrenalin software thing and it's the same again, no image whatsoever.- 1 reply

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I've had a persistent problem for a number of months now. It's finally driven me to the point of asking for help. I have a MSI Armor AMD RX 590 GPU. I've used it for around 2 years without any problems. I've been able to run pretty high end games while simultaneously recording and using background apps. About 6 months ago my games started crashing randomly. I didn't investigate too much as I was returning to work post-pandemic. I've recently tried to enjoy gaming again but with no luck. Most games crash after about 2 mins. The screen will flicker and freeze (sometimes audio will continue to play) the screens will then go black for a few seconds and return with the game crashed. I get an error message 'A driver timeout has occurred'. I've run Furmark stress test successfully only once (previous attempts crashed instantly) Scored 5000 on the 1080p test. Temps are always 50-70'c when under stress I've tried all of the options I could find via googling the problem. Reinstalling Adrenalin, adjusting power usage, enabling xmp, reducing display refresh rates, fully inspect and clean system set-up, and using AMDs clean up utility. None of this worked I have a basic but reasonable understanding of the hardware side of things but struggle with software and numbers I don't really understand fan and clock speeds or anything about voltage. I know my system isn't top-of-the-range, but these issues have never happened while gaming previously. Many users seem to think the AMD driver updates are the problem. I can't figure out how to roll back to a previous successful version (more than a year ago) Scott System: Windows 10 pro 64 bit Mb - MSI x470 Gaming Plus Max CPU - Ryzen 7 3700x GPU - AMD RX 590 RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2 x 8 GB 3600mhz PSU - Corsair 750w 2 x LG 21" monitors (basic led) set to 60000mhz refresh rate

Hey there! I have a question about whether or not it is possible to throw two GPUs from different manufacturers into one PC? I don't want to run it in AMD Crossfire or Nvidia SLI mode, i just want to use them for different tasks. Why? You might ask... that's a easy one, i have the option to buy a RX 590 for cheap, and i have use for it (running a render while gaming or passing it through to a virtual machine). I assume i need both drivers, but is there anything i need to pay attention to, if it is possible to run the computer at the first place? Thanks in advance!

About 4 months ago I bough a GTX 1050ti, yesterday my friend gifted me his RX 590 in favor of a new card he had bought. I being the ignorant man I am, plugged the RX 590 into the Top x16 PCIe Slot, and the 1050ti into the Bottom x16 PCIe slot. I then installed the Radeon Drivers for the 590 and left the Nvidia ones installed. Today I tried to use my Oculus Rift VR. It works only when plugged into the 1050ti, but I need working on the 590 because the 590 is a better card, and will run my games better. It will load on the 590 and then freeze immediately after loading the oculus software, and SteamVR does detect the headset. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. Please help.

Hello! I am relatively new to PC building and I was having a super frustrating problem that has been going on for a long time (2 years). This problem is that the PC would perform as expected right after I update my drivers or reinstall them. After a day, the performance would decrease dramatically (Ex. from 90 fps to 40 on Fornite) so my temporary fix would be using AMD Driver Uninstaller and reinstall new drivers and this cycle continued for 2 years. 2 weeks ago I upgraded from a Gigabyte Radeon RX 550 D5 2gb to a XFX RX 590 Fatboy OC+ in hopes that the problem was a defective GPU but currently with a new GPU I'm still experiencing much lower frames than expected in games like COD Warzone and Fortnite. Frames on Warzone ranged from 30-65 and Fortnite 50-90. My PC no longer degrades in performance after a day like before but the performance is wayyy below what I was hoping for. I tried to fix this by updating BIOS to Gigabyte F31. I also tried DDU and reinstalling updated drivers (Adrenaline 20.4.1). Am I bottlenecking?? I'm not sure what else to try so any help would be appreciated! Specs: MONITOR - HP 27es 60Hz CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 1600 MOBO - Gigabyte GA-AB350M-D3H GPU - XFX Radeon RX 590 Fatboy OC+ PSU - EVGA 500 W1, 80+ WHITE 500W RAM - DDR4 Patriot Viper Elite 2400Mhz 16GB (2x8GB) SSHD - Seagate FireCuda 2TB SSHD OS - Win 10 Pro 64-Bit If you need anymore information just ask

Background Information: I wanted to play all the AC games in historic chronological order. I started with AC Odyssey which is the latest game released and also the one located farthest back in history. I finished it completely with all the DLCs and I'm now playing Origins, which is historically the next one and was the game released right before Odyssey. But man it's like that game wants to kill my PC! I played through Odyssey with the optimized settings from the HardwareUnboxed video and not even in Athens I got below my FreeSync range (44 FPS). I had a solid 60+ FPS experience with dips of 45-50 in large cities as I mentioned. I tried to apply the same graphical settings that I had in Odyssey as best as I could in Origins, but at the very beginning of the game I was getting 40-48 FPS in Siwa. It worsened when I got to Alexandria and I decided to do something about it when I started getting frame drops in the low 30s. I went ahead and used the High preset as well as disabled volumetric clouds and lowered the water to Medium. I was able to remain at about 50 FPS, but as I continued to play in Alexandria I started getting drops below the FreeSync range and it became unbearable with all the tearing and that kind of things. The current settings get me above 60 most of the times, but I don't want to have the drops below 44 FPS because that kills me in the cities. This really bothers me because it didn't happen in Odyssey which is even more demanding. I was unable to find much in the older posts about the game since it was released a few years ago. When people complained about poor optimization they got responses saying that just because the game is demanding and pushing the boundaries of hardware doesn't mean it's poorly optimized. But well if Odyssey was poorly optimized, I find Origins is even worst. Request: 1) Can anyone please help me with the best Radeon Software graphic settings for this game in particular, considering my hardware? 2) It would be nice to also have the global settings in the general sweet spot as well, if someone can help with that too. 3) Can anyone advise what would be the best in-game graphical settings for Origins with my hardware specs, considering the Radeon Software graphic settings? I know I might be asking for a lot, but I would much appreciate any help with this since I find the many available settings a bit overwhelming, especially after I did my own research and failed to get good results. Hardware Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 @ 3.92GHz Graphics Card: AMD RX590 Sapphire Nitro+ (stuck) RAM: 16GB DDR4 @ 2993MHz (can't get it any higher than that without crashing LOL) AMD RADEON Software version: 20.2.2 (current recommended version) I can provide any additional information that might be required. Thanks a lot for looking into this! - Wonka0998

So I'm looking to upgrade my video card from an RX560 (4GB) to either an RX590 or 5500 (XT). I mostly stream on my PC and do some video editing with Corel VideoStudio, Adobe Premiere, or DaVinci Resolve (depending on my mood). I have read that the RX590 is better, but I would like to hear from others as well. PC Specs: Ryzen 7 2700 (Gen 2), 64GB DDR4 3000, Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming. Thanks in advance. ^^

So I have recently build a pc with a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, gigabyte A320M-S2H motherboard, Rx 590, 16gb RAM and an Ace power supply. When I power it on the system fans spin, CPU fan spins, graphics card fans spin and the power LEDs for the card glow as well. But no matter what I do, I don't get a display. Any ideas?

Planning a new build to replace my Phenom II X4 955 and 750ti setup. Budget isn't too big because I need to buy a new monitor as well, that's at least 150 quid. So, the RX590 and Vega 56 are both more or less in the same price range on eBay and gumtree. Not sure which to go with. For CPU I'm probably going with either a 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen 7 or a 2nd or 3rd gen Ryzen 5. Definitely 16GB of RAM minimum, I need the ram for some of my CAD work. The GPU and CPU will be both be used together for rendering in Blender with Cycles. As for games, I'm not an AAA nut really but I plan to play both Forza Horizon 3 and 4 preferably on high to ultra settings, still play JC3 somewhat but not much, also planning to pick up TpF2 later this year, as it's unreleased don't know how much a resource hog it will be but TpF1 was enough to cause problems on my Phenom and 750ti. I also play Beamng drive on low, would like to play on high to ultra settings with dynamic lighting enabled for once, new traffic update will also be pretty resource intensive albeit more on the CPU. My baseline requirements would be to play all the above with the stated quality at 1080p 60fps, I might be able to afford a 1440p monitor though, still, 60fps requirement but more is always nicer. Any opinions and feedback appreciated, will post a PC part picker list once I complete it down in the comments. Budget for the entire PC is about £700 max, will aim to buy most things secondhand except for storage drives.

Will we see vp9 support for rx 570,580,590 or older cards? We wait for that a lot of time and i saw that new amd cards support that! Will they support their old cards?

Currently Running Ryzen 5 2600 (Clocked at 3.8GHz) and a XFX RX590 (OC Core & Memory).. Seen benchmarks online of this card in 1440p, does well. Just looking to upgrade from 1080p 60hz to this : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N2L5CXO/ref=crt_ewc_title_oth_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER I do plan on upgrading the gpu soon, but just want some opionions on the RX590 running on this monitor ATM. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I have a quick question before making a decision if i should wait or make the purchase. Is Radeon Rx 590 premiere pro cc friendly? I have looked everywhere and I can't seem to find an answer. I want o see if it would be a good rendering GPU or should I just save money? I have found the the RX 590 below 200 usd. Every information would be appreciated.

I have recently built my first PC but its plagued by constant crashes / black screen freezes which i assume are caused by my GPU. These crashes usually happen while PC is under ( light ) load but i have experienced them couple of times even while my PC was idle or during its shutdown process. When the crash happens connection between my Monitor and PC would break down. Monitor would remain on and would enter a power saving mode while PC would freeze and stop responding to any keyboard input so that i have to restart it via power button. Restarting / plugging the monitor out and back into the GPU or Motherboard during the crash does nothing. Speakers would usually emit a static/buzzing sound and PC fans would usually speed up after the crash. There are never any error messages during or after the crash, except maybe: "Default Radeon Wattman settings have been restored due to unexpected system failure" message which pops up when i start the PC post crash. I can ( unfortunately ) replicate the issue / cause the crash to happen if needed. I don't play very demanding games and temperatures for all components generally don't pass 50-60c so i don't think that is the problem. I never tried overclocking or undervolting my GPU or changing settings in the MSI afterburner / Wattman or something like that. I am running latest version of windows 10 pro 64 bit, my only storage device is an 256 GB SSD. My driver is 19.4.2 My current configuration is: Intel Core i3 8100 CPU 16 GB of RAM ( 2400 mhz ) ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME B360M-A Motherboard RX 590 Series Sapphire NITRO+ GPU 700w Bequiet! System Power 9 PSU ( Bronze ) List of things i have already tried: -Bought a new PSU ( upgraded from 520w Seasonic bronze to 700w System Power 9 from Bequiet! ). This made crashes somewhat less common but still common enough to render most of my games unplayable. -Tried sending the GPU back to the retailer, they tested it and said its working properly. -Tried different plugs and PSU power cables -Tried running the PC without GPU. Couldn't replicate the crashes. -Tried running the PC with my old GTX 260 GPU. Couldn't replicate the crashes. -Countless clean GPU driver reinstalls in the safe mode with DDU. -Tried using older AMD drivers, ( 19.2.2, 19.1.2, 19.1.1 ). -Found nothing in Event Viewer that could have caused crashing. -Virus and malware scans, just in case -Tried fixing Windows files, just in case. If this helps during my research online i ran into multiple posts from people who had a similar problem with similar or same GPUs but nothing conclusive. Possible causes for this seem to be: -My somewhat old LG FLATRON w2246 VGA monitor which is connected to my GPU through VGA to DVI converter. I don't know how is it possible for old monitor to cause PC freezes but at least one dude online with similar monitor setup fixed his issue by getting a new monitor. -GPU crashing when exiting / entering its low power state. There is a possibility that the voltages at these states are not 100% stable from the factory (they are set too low). I just wanted to hear an opinion from someone who might know a thing or two more than me before dropping another 200 eur on a new monitor or screwing something up with clocking and voltages in MSI afterburner / Wattman. Thank you for reading my wall of text!

Hi, I have been a gamer the last 15 years, I used to get a dell optiplex, put some graphic card on it with some ram and play, this year I decided to build a proper rig, and today arrived the the last component a radeon rx 590 nitro, I know That my rig is not like high range ultimate gaming pc, but I don't know I feel very proud with the result
