Should i replace AMD RX 5700 blower fan to Raijintek Morpheus 8057? I doubt the standard blower radiator doesn't work very well
-
Alright so there's some parts I definitely need to replace in my system soon, but with the current supply situation I have to make my upgrades carefully. windows 10, 64bit ryzen 1700 asrock ab350m, not sure the bios version but I know I cannot downgrade without risking bricking. 16gb CL16 RAM (3200mhz currently clocked down to 2400mhz for stability) rx5700 with some mods seasonic psu The issues: #1, system freezes, no BSOD. No dump files are being created, I can't get it to BSOD even if I wait a while, and it happens both when I push the system or I'm just idling. Odd caveat; the display drivers will be 'corrupted or missing' when I hard restart it. I really, really can't have this be a bad GPU in all honesty. #2, decreased performance while gaming benchmarks, renders, and compiling generally don't seem affected. I can screen record with GPU acceleration with zero dropped frames but the game itself has lost 30-50% FPS over the past few weeks. More demanding games like beamNG took the largest hit going from 90 average to less than 60 now, interestingly though, cp 2077 has stayed relatively the same. #3, 'hiccups' Noticed this in renders and while testing with benchmarks recently, basically both CPU and GPU with drop drastically in utilization for a second. No dropped frames on a recording but still an interruption on the graphs. Thermals also take a small dip, which is how I first noticed this while rendering over GPU. Happens at the exact same time for both CPU and GPU, and again, seems to happen regardless of which one is being utilized more. #4, having to reduce OCs Throughout the past few weeks I've steadily had to reduce my CPU clock and RAM speed to avoid the BSOD. I used to run an OC of 3.7ghz on the 1700 @ 1.38v and the RAM would actually hit 3200mhz. Thermals have always been good on my PC, even at the highest of clocks my CPU never went above 72c and the 5700 hasn't thermal throttled itself under an arctic accelero iv. I'm trying to source a spare am4 motherboard from a friend to do some testing, but unfortunately nothing has been separately validated. This 1700 was a silicon lottery winner for sure and I'm honestly not keen on giving it up just yet. I know the mobo is a POS so maybe it's finally time to swap it out? not the most economical thing but it would hold me over for intel's big.little and whatever am5 holds. I just want to avoid the current silicon market tbh. Thank you so much for any help you can offer; really appreciate your time for just reading this mess. hope you all have a good one

So, I'll start by saying I'm fairly new to PC building. I ran into an issue I just can't figure out. Specs: Intel build- CPU: i5 10400 MOBO: ASRock B560 steel legend GPU: ASUS Dual Radeon™ RX 5700 EVO OC edition 8GB RAM: XPG DDR4 D60G RGB 16GB (2x8GB) PSU: EVGA 600w gold Windows 10 Pro RYZEN build: CPU: RYZEN 5 3600 Mobo: ASUSTeK Prime x570-P GPU: SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon RX 480 4GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR4 3600 PSU: Antec HCG650 Gold Power Supply 650 Watts 80 PLUS Gold Windows 10 Pro The Story: I recently built the Intel rig and got it to POST and run using the RX480.After about a week, I wanted to benchmarck it with my RX5700 as well. The numbers weren't quite as good (Closer than I thought), so I wanted to switch back. I put the Rx480 back in the intel build and now it won't give me a display. Just a black screen. The GPU fans run and it seems to POST just fine. The Rx5700 and Rx480 worked perfectly on the RYZEN build. So i know it's not the GPU. I'm using it right now. It has to be some sort of driver issue. Here is what I tried: I tried running DDU for both AMD and Intel. I tried taking the CMOS battery out. Switched from HDMI to DisplayPort Tested the cables with a tv. BioS from Auto to PCIe Both pcie slots Fresh install of windows. I'm completly lost. I can get a display using the Motherboards hdmi and display port and mess with it that way or use the RX5700 but this RX480 won't go back! I gave up and I'm asking for help. We do it for the frames.lol. Thank you. Hopefully I posted this right and worded it ok.

Does anyone know if the XFX RX 5700 DD ultra is a good card in terms of cooling? I know that the XFX 5700XT THICC didn't do well in terms of cooling. I'm planning to buy one used at my local store because they are selling it for around 145-150 USD.

Hey Guys So this summer I bought an RX5700, & a ryzen 3500 (6 core, 12 thread, but you new that), B450 motherboard. I installed everything and it works great. I did have to replace the cooling as the stock cooler was the issue. Getting up to 97 C, So I replaced it with a better cooler today and decided to add in my old GPU (RX 460) to help with folding at home. On startup my system I get to the login and as soon as I click anywhere Blue Screen Of Death. The error I got was: System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled_Error I took out the GPU and the system runs supper quiet and cool now. I then tried to download the driver but its bundled with all AMD drivers and won't install unless i have the drive plugged in, and its not like hot swappable. ( I can't plug it in with the machine on) I did try to boot Safe mode but it just won't for some reason! getting to be very frustrating Here is the full system specs: CPU: Ryzen 3500 GPU: RX5700 & RX 460 Duel 2G 32 GB DDR4 Trydent Z 3200 MGZ M.2 1TB SSD Toshiba 2 X 120GB SSD (sata) 2TB HHD (sata) 640 W Power Supply 4 extra cooling fans ( I have a cat so i need a filter on the inlet, With a filter you need to keep good a good fan but i'm not so multiple cheap fans it is )

Hello everyone, I used to build systems back in my younger days, many years ago and took a break because of life and work. but decided to jump back on to build a mid grade gaming rig. I seem to be having a problem every time i start a game. The main monitor, a Samsung 32 (model C32HG7x) connected via Display Cable. at first i though it was a bad monitor so i replaced the monitor but it that didn't work also, replaced the cable. its only the 1 monitor my second monitor stays fine, its and old viewsonic. I've tried updating all my drivers as far as i can tell. windows is up to date. firmware is in the motherboard is update according to their site.at first i though it was overheating so i got a temp monitor on it but it doesn't seem to be going above 55-60 C. i don"t think that an issue but who knows it might be now. like i said its been like 10-12 years since i actually build a computer and played with it so i am worried i messed something up. i recorded a short video of what it did when i tried to run Anno 2205 but it seems to do the same with all games even some of the older ones that should not tax this system. like ace combat from back in 2000 i think. here is a summary of my system specs: attached is a full Speccy report and the video i mention. I hope someone can help me. Summary Operating System Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600x RAM 32.0GB Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. It's unfortunate that AMD has still not fixed hardware acceleration issues with RX 5000 series GPUs. My biggest issues are: Letter Boxing on fullscreen video that comes and goes with activity/mouse movement on the monitor that is full screen. Occasional severe frame drops and pauses in video playback which can happen when GPU usage is pinned. (A Freesync display paired with other mixed refresh rate displays causes this the most) Occasional frame time issues when gaming and watching a video. About a pixel wide green bar under YouTube videos. Gamma shifts in video content (New issue induced from the latest driver version). Some apps that are hardware accelerated can induce stutters/frame time issues with the rest of the system, apps like Discord and FB Messanger are an example. Thankfully my R5 2600 has no problems picking up the slack for Google Chrome, but my $329 RX 5700 should not be this gimped. Hardware acceleration is a basic feature of any GPU. I run a 1440p 144Hz Freesync monitor over DP and 2 1080p 60Hz monitors over DP and HDMI to DVI. Freesync and hardware acceleration have to be disabled to get a usable experience. Any RX 5000 Series owners out there that have experienced similar issues?

Hello, I have a Gigabyte GTX 1070ti and am wondering if an upgrade is worth it or if I should just overclock what I have as much as possible and wait for what comes after the 5700 generation (It's already manufacturer overclocked before Gigabyte pulled the OC version). I use a 1440p HP Omen monitor and want something that will handle Cyberpunk 2077 75fps stable (monitor refresh rate). As things are right now nothing really drops bellow 75fps but the future looks demanding ? My PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/TCKBD3 My CPU is overclocked already.

Hello! I have a question about compatibility: I am planning to buy a new pc, I chose SilentiumPC RG4T case and RX 5700 Gaming OC graphic card from Gigabyte. The problem I am worried about is that the maximum gpu length that can go into that case(380mm) is same as the size of that graphic card and I think there might be a chance that gpu won't fit into that case... Is this true or it is just me going crazy about it?

Good Evening, I recently built my first PC using an AMD CPU/GPU and a B450 MoBo, specs of the build are further below. At first i had some crashes while playing Anno 1800 but found out that most of them had to do with an issue with DirectX. I recently started playing Destiny 2 on the PC and the game has crashed several times while playing, can't say an interval of time because sometimes it crashes after 15 minutes of playing and sometime i can play for hours before it crashes, this does happen about 30 to 40% of the time I've been playing. In terms of troubleshooting, I've done the recommended actions i've seen here and in other forums (Re-installing windows and updating, do a clean GPU driver uninstall and install latest drivers etc.) but those things don't seem to solve the issue. I have noticed that after the game crashes the AMD tool and GPU-Z both register the GPU at 99% utilization even though there is no game running, when looking at the windows task manager i see that the performance of the GPU is super low though. Any thoughts on what could be happening? is there any other troubleshooting you guys can recommend? I just want my system to be stable and so far i'm not sure if it is thank you for any help you can provide! So a while ago, Linus did a video on having a mining GTX 1060 card with no display outputs be used by applying the dGPU to the application so that each game would use the GTX 1060 while using the iGPU for display. I know how this is done with NVIDIA cards through the video, but Im curious if this could be done for AMD GPUs. I currently have a RX 5700 that can be flashed to a 5700XT bios, but with that bios flash, it refuses to POST using the gpu display output. BUT when using the iGPU for display I get a post and everything reports correctly on GPU-Z. But I cannot figure out how to get each application/game/benchmark to use the dedicated GPU since NVIDIA Control is not available. any help?

1. Artifacts on the screen and stability problem. On the upper PCI-e, CS: GO and Furmark (GPU test) gives artifacts after 1-2 minutes of operation. PoE has frame drops to 0 from time to time. Graphics card on the lower PCI-e port, CS: GO works stably, Furmark with GPU + CPU test gives artifacts after 1-2 minutes. The test of the GPU or CPU itself comes without major problems. I have very low fps compared to those in the reviews (up to 200 in CS:GO). The card tested on another computer (i3) works without major problems. How can I check what could be causing this? 2. Loud chipset fan noise The fan on the motherboard still works in the range 2600-3600 rpm without load. The whole is incredibly loud, should it work like that? It doesn't matter if the fan is covered by the card or not. Temperatures (~ 30st) are similar, same as rpm. On Monday I will definitely hand over the motherboard due to the fan noise. With the fact that I do not know yet whether to exchange for the same model or for another? Additionally: - latest bios uploaded (in the old one it was the same), - latest drivers, I installed windows twice - I replaced the power supply Other components are: Power supply: bequiet System Power 9 600W Ram: Patriot 16GB 3733MHz Viper 4 CL17 Hard disk: ADATA 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe XPG SX8200 Pro (bottom M2 with heat sink) Monitor: 1440p 144Hz Acer Nitro XV272U (HDMI) + old Dell 1920x1200 60HZ (DP) Cooler: Mugen 5 Case: Define R5 + 3 fans Thank you in advance for any help! #edit - I deleted unnecessary information, now it should be more transparent.

Hey everybody! ✌ I just bought a ASUS STRIX Radeon RX 5700XT gpu. Everything seems to be working just fine but it looks like the mouse cursor (when its loading) BUSY, is dark blue instead of light blue like it normally is and doesnt look like it suppose to look. Asif the resolution is a bit of! I also did a clean windows install but as soon as i install the driver (latest on amd site) and it changes to the right resolution, the BUSY cursor turns dark blue and looks rather ugly, this is also the same for the hand gesture icons when pressing Links in google chrome etc. Which also makes me doubt if the resolution/sharpness in general is working like its suppose to? So my actual question is : is this a driver related issue and does anybody else experienced these same issues/problems.. and does anybody know how to fix this or atleast some advice on setting the correct settings? Thankyou in advance,

What GPU would be a good choice to go with if the intention is to play mainly current triple A titles and the up and coming titles like Cyberpunk 2077. The ideal budget would be £350 or under RX 5700's seem to be a good option but what options would be potentially better on the Nvidia side. I've always preferred Nvidia tbh

Hello all, Looking to upgrade from an RX570. Current build. Based on Borderlands 3, I have a GPU Bottleneck (2.5 ms FT for CPU, 12.5 ms FT for GPU at medium settings). I suspect that that the bottle neck is in all my games. CPU: R7 2700x Motherboard: MSI Tomahawk B450 Ram: Corsair Vengence lPX 3000MHz (2x8gb) PSU: EVGA 600w 80+ Bronze. I am looking at either a 2070S, a 2060S, or a 5700x. Any recommendations? Thanks.

I’ve got a cheap case that I’ve forgotten the brand! My motherboard is the gigabyte a320m-s2h and I’ve got an Ryzen 5 2600 (looking to upgrade later on), will I need to upgrade my motherboard as apparently this card will cover all of my other pci-ex slots and will I have to upgrade my case? Also will my current cpu bottleneck a 5700xt? Finally, which brand of gpu (gigabyte, msi, etc) thanks

Hi Guys, I'm trying to get back into building a new pc since I sold my pc 2 years ago due to financial reason. Now that I got back on my feet I trying to build a new one. After searching the internet I found that the AMD Rx 5700xt is the one with performance and value that I wanted. ( I don't want to go with the Rx 5700 bios flash route) And I'm currently torn to choose between these 2 card as they were the cheapest from reputable brand that I can find. 1.Asrock RX 5700 XT Phantom Gaming D 8G OC 2.MSI 5700 XT mech OC (this card 10USD more than the Asrock) If anyone has one of these card please tell me your experience that I can find review for the MSI card but not so much for the Asrock. Btw I'm from Malaysia.

Will a Ryzen 3500 + RX 5700 have throttling issues? Note: Ryzen 3500 is also known as Ryzen 3500x in China and some western countries.
