Hi guys, I have no idea what's going on with my PC. When I try and run CSGO I cant get any frames above 20. I have rebuilt the PC to make sure everything was in correctly. Had been working fine and then I hadn't used it in a while. Everything has been updated which is the only thing I can think is different, potentially the most recent version of the AMD software isn't stable enough for my outdated built? I have however tried another graphics card which was a GTX1050 (another old card i know) which was the only other card i had lying around. Also tried using another old CPU which was an i5 6600k but each time it was the same scenario when playing CSGO. Any help would be great.

Hi all. I know I'm boned, just want a gauge as to how hard and what specifically is boning me. Symptoms: Running any type of GPU bench (or even launching something like PSO2) makes the screen go black, but the system keeps going (still hear sounds if a video is playing). Win+ctrl+shift+b doesn't reset (can hear the beep tho). System specs: Windows 10 (Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042) ASUS Maximus VII IMPACT (BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrends Inc. 2401, 2/24/2015, I'm scared sh*tless to update it) Intel i7 4790K (default boost to 4.4GHz but issue still present at stock speeds) 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM (1866MHz XMP profile 1, the logs were collected at stock 1333 for giggles) MSI RX 480 8G ( Software Version: 2020.1113.1501.27036 | Driver Version 20.45.01.18-201113a-361132C-RadeonSoftwareAdrenalin2020) x2 2TB Crucial MX500 Apevia ATX-SP700W (I remember my friend saying they are bronze certified back when buying it, but checking the site there is no longer any trace of that) Commentary/ whining: I attached hwinfo and Radeon logs, though I hardly see anything interesting (minus hwinfo saying the memory is clocked at 656). I did a clean DDU install before getting those logs. Ran a memory test, passed fine, ran intel's cpu test, also passed. My feeling is its either the GPU is bust or the PSU has decided to kick the can. I did some tuning in Radeon software too, lowered clocks, upped fan curve, cranked power limit, no dice. This is a decently aged system, I also had to RMA the 480 (and a 470) cards during the lifespan, albeit for unrelated issues (coil whine, bent rad, etc). This whole saga started maybe 3-4 months ago now, I finally got the time to poke around. I'd like this beast to live till I can get my hands on a full upgrade, just stuck waiting for stock like the rest of you. Cheers amdlog.CSV hwinfolog.CSV

Hey all! I'm new to this forum and hope this is the right thread and not the GPU one, but please correct me if I'm mistaken. After so many attempts my issue still persist: Constand blackouts while having freesync enabled. I’ve tried so many things which I’ll put down below, maybe I’ve missed a possible fix you might know. The only persistent and reliable way to get freesync to work without any problems is installing a driver from 2019. For PC config see the end. For me this is solely a driver problem which I’m really fed up with. It worked in 2019 and at some point, just stopped. Sadly, I no longer have the old driver at my new computer…. I would highly appreciate any more ideas! I’ve tried following in more or less this order: - Fresh install of AMD drivers with DDU, both WHQL and beta versions - No configuration of Radeon Software after installing - Different Freesync ranges with CRU, both lower and upper limit - No Enhanced Sync in AMD settings - Different timing standards in AMD customs resolution - No HDMI link assurance in AMD settings - Overclocking, underclocking, as well as undervolting GPU - Energy Saving Setting in AMD Settings - Installing 2019 Radeon Drivers (only solution that works like a charme) - Filling out AMD report tool - Fresh install of windows - New computer with a premium PSU - Install of new monitor driver - New premium HDMI 2.1 Cable PC specs: - Old computer: i5-3570k at 4.2 GHz, RX480, Asrock Z77 Extreme 4, 16 GB Crucial Vengeance DDR3, Sharkoon WPM 600 W, Samsung 870 Evo, HP 25x 144 Hz aswell as two other 60 Hz monitors - New computer: Ryzen 5600x, same RX480, MPG B550I GAMING EDGE MAX WIFI, 16 GB G.Skill RipJaws DDR4, Seasonic Focus SGX 500 W, same 870 Evo, same HP 25x 144 Hz aswell as two other 60 Hz monitors

Hello! So due to some unfortunate circumstances my old GTX 980ti is kaput, a friend of mine has borrowed me his 'upgraded' RX480 (I'll put a picture up) in the meantime until I can get a replacement GPU, however upon starting up any game with this thing it gives me this odd pulsing frame drop issue I can't seem to find anything on online, you can see how it is in the capture I've attached. I would super duper appreciate some advice here because this makes anything I want to play unberable which is doubly frustrating than not having a GPU at all because at least then you can resign yourself. problem capture.mp4

Hello So recently i swapped out my gtx 1050ti for an rx480 8gb that was laying around. Everything seems to be working fine but when i start a game like forza horizon 4 the edges for exapmle a car don't look smooth at all. I don't think the game is supposed to look like this in ultra settings. There are like litle white lines around every edge and i don't know what to do. I checked resolutions and stuiff but cant find any fix. Im not a computer expert but can someone try to help me find a solution. That would be much appreciated . Cya

What are your thoughts on using Amernime Modded drivers for Amd Gpu, specifically RX 480. Im having issues with adrenalin edition for stability reasons. Should I go for Amernime or Pro edition?

so I currently have a system thats running an i3-3240 and has no gpu. My friend has agreed to me to sell me his rx480 for super cheap which he wasnt using to put into my cumputer. Would this create a big enough cpu bottleneck to experience any problems in game or enough to harm anything? Would I be able to play games at a playable framerate no problem? Or should i upgrade my cpu down the line. And if so what to?

Which makes a better budget card, the RX480 or the 1060. I'm mostly going to play H1Z1 KOTK and CS:GO until I upgrade my other parts so I can play BF1. I'm certain I'm going to be playing at 1080p and I also am planning on keeping the better deal for the next few years, so which seems like the better card?

Hi, I'm looking for a complete AMD build for my friend and which should be adequate enough to be game for next 4 years with decent performance (at least 40 fps only) and if no, then shall I make him wait for ryzen 6/5 whenever if its going to launch. If you wan't to know the budget, it's INR 55k, so suggest us by going into in.PCPARTPICKER.com as stuff in USD doesn't help because of heavy import duty. P.s. - We're going for ASUS Dual-Fan Radeon Rx 480 4GB OC Edition AMD Gaming Graphics Card with DP 1.4 HDMI 2.0 DUAL-RX480-O4G DUAL 4GB All kinds of suggestion are welcomed (we can rest with intel too). Image attached of my build (G-card is for INR16k) Thank you

So I decided to pick up skyrim se and tried it on my rx480 build and had terrible performance at 1080p usually under 40fps. it turns out that disabling the Vsync in the games ini file fixed it and gives me a stable 60fps. I had to obviously cap the fps and i did so using amds radeon software. Now I'm getting notable screen tearing which is really killing me inside so here's my decision. 1. Just deal with it and enjoy great performance. 2. Enable the ingame vsync and cry at terrible performance. 3. Buy a freesync monitor? What do you guys think? Either that or I'm having a different issue and can't find a fix.

Good Day Currently i am playing Far Cry 4 again and i am noticing that the framerate isnt admireable. When the game is set to high i get around 40-50 fps but on ultra it sits at about 30-40fps and dips regularly under 30 i tried unparking the cpu and setting the priority of the process to high it just feels odd that my rig cant play far cry 4 smoothly i am noticing through after burner that the gpu isnt really doing anything and task manager tells me that far cry 4 is using around 45% cpu nvidia stuff is turned off and im not using any antialiasing Specs: CPU:8320@5ghz GPU:RX 480 strix variant 8GB 1600mhz ram Thanks in advance and i apologise for my english

Okay, So I just installed new parts into my PC yesterday, and my PC keeps turning off after Graphics Card load. The new parts I installed were a CPU cooler, a motherboard(FM2/FM2+), a Graphics Card(Rx480 4gb), and A 500W PSU. My friend gave me the PSU, it is a little bit older, but he had no troubles with it. It only turns off when under graphics load.

Hi, I am looking forward to my first PC build and I would like to go with something cheap, suitable to get my hands on building a PC, overclocking and overall tinkering with the system. At a later point I will upgrade to modern age hardware. For now I plan to do some light to modest gaming on this first build. I found an old Xeon x5650 for around $100 and also DELL PRECISION T3500 with 12 gigs of ram for ~$240. I plan to put the x5650 in there, overclock it to 37-4.0 GHz, replace the PSU with Seasonic M12II-750 and throw in an rx480. I know the mobo only has PCI-E 2.0 and the rx480 is generally meant to be used on 3.0 slots, but it looks like a big part of the internet says that the performance difference in gaming is not that big between 3.0 and 2.0. I only play WoW anyways (I might try some other games as well now :D). Do you think this will work, what will I be giving up and what should I expect from this system? I plan to re-use the PSU and the graphics card in my next build. Note: One thing that worries me is that I have no idea whether the mobo that comes with the T3500 supports overclocking, so if anybody knows, pls share. Thanks

I'm thinking about upgrading my gtx 660, and the 2 gpus I listed in the title fit my budget. which one should I get? (the rx 480 is a gigabyte g1 gaming and the gtx 1060 is a gigabyte mini itx version)

So I just finished building a new desktop. My very first one, and I'm pretty excited. However, I'm having issues finding the drivers needed to get my GPU up and running. The drivers that MSI told me to download from the AMD website are not working. I keep getting "error 175" You might say, "Just use the disc that came with it" Well stupid ol' me was told that I wouldn't need an optical drive as everything nowadays can be downloaded/bought on a USB Is there a place to download the drivers I need for my GPU? Here's my full build: CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($299.99 @ SuperBiiz) Motherboard: MSI B150 Gaming M3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($86.98 @ Newegg) Memory: GeIL EVO POTENZA 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($86.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Sandisk SSD PLUS 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($43.74 @ B&H) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.33 @ OutletPC) Video Card: PowerColor Radeon RX 480 8GB Red Devil Video Card ($211.99 @ Newegg) Case: Rosewill Galaxy-02 ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($47.89 @ Newegg)

I'm using an 8GB GamingX RX480 on a 1680x1050 monitor. According to every benchmark in existence, I should never be getting under 60fps at maxed out settings in new games like DOOM and Arkham Knight. Instead, I get 45fps at high-normal settings, no post-FX. I have run several benchmarking programs, including Furmark, Userbenchmark, and both Firestrike and Time Spy in 3DMark. Each of those programs say my rig is performing better than most similar builds. However, I have yet to see proof of that. I have no idea what could be causing my issues, everything is said to be fine. help plz

Hey there, A month or so ago, I built a gaming PC for my little brother. I went out and bought these parts: GPU: RX480 4GB Gigabyte CPU: i3-6100 RAM: 8GB crucial DDR4 1.2V CL15 (CT8G4DFD8213) MoBo: Asus H110M-D PSU: a no-name 450W HDD: WD blue 1TB We have some really weird issues with this build. I tested Battlefield 1 performance and it was great. All settings Ultra and framerates were close to 60. The thing is that, in every other game that my brother bought or had already, it fails spectacularly to play them. For example GTA V is only playable in low settings, and still it cannot achieve more than 45 fps average. Same thing with Fallout 4. It only runs with lowest setting, and still has its glitches. Same with Wolfenstein old blood. Drivers were installed through amd's official site. Card was also tested with cryptocurrency mining software, and it performed great, with temperatures never exceeding 74C What the heck have I done wrong?

All right. I've found someone who would give me an RX 480 4GB version for my R9 390. Which might sound as a bad deal, and might really be. As I've noticed, the R9 390s greatest advantage over this one, and most previous generation cards is the huge amount of VRAM. But since I only play games on 1080p, I'm not even sure if I have ever used more than 5GB. Can RX 480 4GB outperform the R9 390 8GB on lower VRAM usages like 2-3GB? Please stick to the question, I don't care about futureproof or NVidia advantages.

Hey ltt community, Im am going to buy an rx 480. But I cant decide between the asus rog strix 8gb and the msi gaming X 8gb. The asus is 10€ more expensive. Which one should I buy? Thx!

Hi all, Just a quickie, so whilst playing Doom on Ultra at 1440p my card has been getting to 81°. The hottest its ever been is about 71° in Counter Strike. I have fiddled with the fan profile in Wattman and set its target temp up from 70 to 75. The only reason i'm posting this is because its never done this in Doom before, i'm a good 7-8 hours into it (including multiplayer). It also did it in Overwatch the other day. I can only think that the insides are getting clogged, but I don't want to void the warranty to give it a good air blast. What do we think?
