hey guys , i ask your wisdom here my rx vega 56 ( rog strix ) is not recognised on pcie 3.0 setup , it turns on , lights and fans , but not detected through bios hardware or anything when plugged to a system on pcie 2.0 port 4x , it works very fine ((and draws a lot of power btw) ( furmark) (amd system) but on my recent build intel i9 pcie 3.0 , system boots but no show for the vega .. ( tried tweaking bios for pcie 2.0 but no options gpu bios is locked , updated it , dowgraded it , nothing does improve gpu is in super condition only thing that could bother is this little mark on a lane ( lanes have all been tested with multimeter) im guessing that cpu (in charge of pcie 3.0 ) doesnt recognise pcie 3 , gpu chip problem ? any ideas welcome , cant understand the prob , and asus CS are not supportive at all , nore would i recommend them , this card if im right with serial number is from 2018 .. but out of warranty ..

No matter how I undervolt, my Vega keeps crashing It's the ASUS Version and I replaced the thermal paste with Kryonaut. I followed this Guide: https://www.igorslab.de/en/amd-radeon-rx-vega-of-ominoese-hotspot-and-the-right-application-of-waermeleitpaste/ The card goes up to 71C° when playing games. I attached my current setting, when applied, it only crashes after a few hours (besides some random crashes in Idle) I don't know what I should do, because if I set the voltage higher it draws about 250W (which is stock) Any help is appreciated!

Does anyone know where I can buy RX Vega?
-
I originally bought an rx 480 for my custom pc and it works to an extent (doesn't work above base clock speeds, appears to have trouble getting above 70fps for most games. doesn't get above 50 for recently downloaded AC: origins plus has constant frame stuttering, though only for this game specifically) so i was looking at upgrading to an rx vega 64 but my power supply is an evga 650w (super nova G3 gold certified). the RX Vega 64 recommends a 750 watt power supply. however, i've done preliminary research/reading and some people are saying that a good quality 650w psu should be okay. Is that true? and is mine good enough? i just upgraded my power supply so i don't really want to do that again so soon. I would like to stay with amd considering i have a freesync monitor, but if the vega 64 isn't a good idea, would a 1070 or 1080 paired with a freesync cause that much of an issue? Also minor question. my graphics card was bad out of the box basically, so is there any way to combat that previously mentioned stuttering? I bumped down the settings all the way to low and it doesn't fix it at all, i hardly even see that much of a framerate increase compared to playing on high, so im at a loss? is it safe to assume its a graphics card problem? if needed, the rest of my specs are as follows intel i7-7700k (not overclocked) Deepcool - Captain 240ex 153.0 cfm liquid cpu cooler ASRock z270 Taichi ATX motherboard (P1.30) Corsair vengence LPX 16gb ddr4 ram (2 x 8gb) Sk hynix - SL308 250gb ssd (boot drive) Seagate barracuda 2TB hard drive (storage) Asus - radeon rx 480 8gb EVGA - supernova G3 650w gold certified psu

Parts Summary CPU Intel i5 6600@3.6GHz Motherboard MSI H170i ProAC Wifi replaced wifi card with DELL BCM4352 Cooler Silverstone AR-06 Slim Kingston Hyper Fury 2x8GB@2133Mhz Kingston SV3000 SSD Seagate Barracuda 2 TB Harddisk AMD RX580 4GB Graphics Card Noctua NF AF12x-15 Slim Low Profile Fan (I sold my kidney to buy them) Samsung SM951 AHCI 128 GB SSD (For Boot Drive) PC Part Picker Link https://pcpartpicker.com/b/8VjcCJ Smoked Bruce5X Test in FCPX with this build (Upgrade) First Part of PC Build Logic of Part Selection (Hackintosh Upgrade Walk Through) 1. Case selection I want my PC to look like a stealth warrior but packs punch of HULK. I wanted a case that looks like sleeper. Silver stone RVZ-02 Black window exactly fits the bill. 2. Cooler selection Since the Height of the case is only 60 mm. I want to go the best slim HTPC cooler that is Silverstone AR-06. It slim, silent and does not hinder RAM. 3. Power Supply selection I want to go with Silverstone SFX-L power supply which is slim and fits case perfectly. But big pain the butt is When it is loaded and when Fan kicks in especially Low RPM, it makes very bad noise because of imbalance in rotor which is predominant when you place the case in vertical position. If I have known this before I would have never bought this power supply. Now I replaced the fan in the power supply to Noctua NF AF12x-15. Its barely audible and I'm loving it. 4. Graphics Card Initially I want to buy R9 Fury or R9 Nano but power consumption might kill my system. So went to buy the RX580. Beauty of this card is its 170 mm only length and 6 pin power connector which fits well in my case and has room for 3.5" drive. 5. Backup Disk I went with Seagate Barracuda 2TB Hard disk simply because SSD are too costly when compared to 2016 when I first built this PC. 6. Boot Disk Samsung SM951 ACHI version M.2 SSD for blazing fast boot up. Hello! So I currently have a 6600k paired with a 1060 6GB, along with a 144hz 1440p monitor (with freesync). I feel like it certainly was perfect for 1080p 60hz, however not for 144hz 1440p. But I feel like I wanna step up my game, and get a new graphics card (and upgrade the rest of the system as well, once I can afford it) I am aiming to buy the new stuff on black Friday, since in Sweden we usually have some pretty sick sales around that time. However.. there are plenty of options to choose from. My first option is 1080 Ti, a very powerful card that most likely will be on sale, however nvidia definitely does not support freesync, which seems pretty sweet. My second option is RX Vega, which might get on sale (.. or might not), does support freesync. However, since it is Sweden we are talking about, taxes might set it to up to 1000 dollars (9000 SEK), making this maybe a bit too expensive. And then the third option.. volta, which might not even be released by then. The games that I will play are most likely: GTA 5, call of duty WW2, Civ 5-6, and maybe some battlefield 1 as well My budget is max $1000, although the less I pay for that, the quicker I'll get my other hardware upgraded. What would you guys suggest?

Tom's Hardware benchmarked RX Vegas Ethereum mining performance in their RX Vega review. The results of the benchmark show that the AMD RX Vega 64's Ethereum mining score is lower than the GTX 1080 Ti. Hopefully this means that the price of the RX Vega cards will not be as inflated as other high end GPU's, as it is much more cost effective and profitable option to stick with the RX 400 and 500 series of GPU's due to RX Vegas price and power consumption. The problem however is that Vega 56 draws more power than the GTX 1080 and a liquid cooled Vega 64 draws nearly twice the wattage of a 1080. The air-cooled Vega 64 also seems to throttle more than the other GPUs (56, 1070, 1080). When it comes to noise levels, AMD seems to have tweaked their cooler (some say it's slightly larger) which results in better noise levels when compared to the Fury X, but still a bit louder under load than nVidia's Frontier Founder's Edition. Temperatures look to be marginally higher on the Vega 64 compared to the GTX 1080, but the Vega 56 seems to run cooler than the GTX 1070. Basically, GTX 1080 has a slight advantage in terms of performance, but is a lot more efficient than the Vega 64. I guess AMD will sell a lot more Vega 56s than 64s anyway and that GPU actually looks good, having a slight edge when compared to the GTX 1070 (ignoring efficiency). Too bad it took AMD one full year to release these cards.

Hey all....alright so i have around $700 to work with and i need some advice. I want to get RX Vega but i am unsure whether to get the reference card when it comes out soon or aftermarket in Q4 (I could wait for aftermarket to come out if cooling is bad on reference but i really dont want to wait). On top of Vega im thinking about getting 8GB of RAM to my total to 16GB cause rn I cant even open a game and effing chrome at the same time! (really pisses me off), unless this isnt a system memory problem and a video memory problem (cause i only have 1GB on my GTX 750 currently). That should leave me with around $240 so i was thinking about getting an xbox or maybe a monitor cause the ones i have now suck af. LMK what you think...HONEST OPINION please! Thx

I've never preordered hardware before, so I'm clueless as to how to do it, can anyone give me some pointers as to how to do it successfully? Which stores in Canada will carry it? What are some trends that AMD has shown in previous releases? Do online store releases typically take place at midnight of the launch day? Is there going to be a different launch day in Canada vs. the USA? Which stores have been known to offer preorders to AMD hardware? There are so many rumors as to a shortage in supply, is that a cause for concern? I've sold my RX 480 in preparation for the RX Vega, so I'm currently using an iGPU. It would be quite a painful experience to not be able to grab a RX Vega! I'm in Canada, BC, where Linus' socks and sandals tread.

https://www.pcgamesn.com/amd/amd-rx-vega-launch-price-reduction (source) Surprised nobody has posted this already . Hopefully AMD can get prices in line with launch MSRP . They weren't fantastic deals , but at those prices , AMD could've salvaged vega . At 100$ more , i can't see rx vega selling at all for anything but niche markets.

Good guys at GamersNexus have tested out performance of Vega56 and Vega64 at the same core and HBM speed, showing practically zero perfomance gained from the additional 512 SPs that V64 has. It looks like the same old 290 vs 290X and Fury vs Fury X story, or even 470/570 vs 480/580. I'm personally quite concerned about this because it's not going to affect Vega only, but also Navi which will heavily rely on adding more cores (MCM designs) and will suffer severe bottlenecking if AMD can't manage to solve this issue. Judging by these results, Vega 11 GPUs will probably be very close to Vega56 clock for clock. GCN probably has some serious internal bottlenecking which destroys scaling past a certain number of SPs, probably caused by low ROP count and/or inefficient processing of instructions elsewhere. Moreover, some features seem to be still disabled on Vega cards. article: https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3053-vega-64-vs-vega-56-clock-for-clock-shader-differences UPDATE: GN is probably going to test the same for nvidia cards, according to a comment under the youtube video

Hello! It has been 6 days and I'm totally lost. So a few weeks ago, I still had a Crossfire of 290X's. It was working well but the noise and heat was horrible. I decided then to upgrade to a Sapphire RX Vega 64. Even if it's the same kind of cooler, the noise and heat are so much better. 6 days ago, I found a gem. Another RX Vega 64 for around 350€ that was used only for reviewing (they are at 500€ generally here). I was quick enough to go on the deal first and bought it. And since that day, i never managed to make the Crossfire work correctly: Crossfire is enabled, everything is ok but when I launch 3DMark, GTA V or another 3D application that uses the Crossfire, after a short time (sometimes instantly, sometimes after 5-6 seconds) my computer literally SHUTS DOWN and reboot after a few sec. I tought it was my PSU but it had no issues with both of 290Xs and my overclocked i7 5930k. Here I tried with different cables, with stock overcloking on the CPU and even power saving mode on both cards (vita Wattman). I tried to stress both cards a the same time with a GPU miner (with or without Crossfire enabled) and it worked with no issues. Same with GPU-Z's integrated stress test. I tried swapping the cards between them, and stress them individually, no issue. I tried drivers 17.9.3 & 17.9.2. I think it's a driver issue but how the hell can drivers cause THE WHOLE system to shutdown instantly like there was an hardware failure? Here's a quick resume of my rig: -Intel i7 5930k -ASRock Taïchi X99 -4x8GB DDR4 Hyper X 2400MHz -Seasonic 1000W 80+ Platinum PSU -CF of Sapphire RX Vega 64 Thanks! EDIT: tried to DDU a few times of course

Sauce: http://www.sweclockers.com/nyhet/24167-amd-radeon-vega-ryktas-fa-prislapp-i-linje-med-geforce-gtx-1080-ti With RX Vega right around the corner, Sweclockers.com reports that the top end card is going to be quite pricy: Translation: Sources to SweClockers have informed us of prices at around €900 to €1000 with tax, something that has also been confirmed by Swedish sources. This would mean a price of about 9000 Swedish Crowns for the top end card - in line with the top of the line GTX 1080TI models. Translation: Theis information derives from the distibuters, who in turn got their prices from AMD and the boardpartners. This dosent mean the prices are accurate with the launch prices however. NVIDIA often give out inflated price tags for first numbers, as to not reveal the final priceing. I find this to be quite an interesting turn, not compleatly unexpeced seeing as the top end card is expeced to have an AIO cooler but definatly not a good value card if this is the actiual pricetag. i just hope that the air cooled versions will be cheaper and that waterblocks will come soon so i could consider Vega for my current PC. I looked around but didnt find anyone else reporting on this, please tell me if its a retoast. wouldent be the first time

I have been buying parts because they are on sale. I am planing to build a 1080p Monster on 144hz. i want to run the most demanding games on 100% maxed out settings 1080p on 144 fps example ghost recon wildlands. At least that is my goal. I got all the parts except the graphic card and i happen to own a 1080p 144hz freesync monitor. Now i saw the new rx vega 64 and everyone says it will be at 1080 levels and not close to the 1080ti. I dont want to change my monitor however i dont mind throwing an extra 300 dollars for a 1080 ti because it is kinda futureproofing. So the question becomes, Is adaptive sync technology worth it? what would you guys go for? 1080 ti and give up freesync or a 1080 level card with freesync if you wanted ultra 144hz gaming experince? Specs: Ryzen 5 1600x be quite pure rock (fan replaced with ml120 pro by corsair) Asus prime b350 plus 16gb of corsair lpx vengeance ram clocked on 3000mhz evga supernova 750b1 ( so watercooled rx vega is not a problem) 750 watt 250gb samsung evo 3tb seagate barracuda 7200rpm hdd phanteks eclipse p400s 4x 140mm sp corsair fans for intake 1x 120mm af corsair fan for exaust all intake is dust filtered gpu not sure either 1080ti or rx vega 64 water or air cooled gimme any advice about my build as well, thanks

Hello everyone, I like the fact that AMD is bundling other pc components with vega at a reasonable price. I think that this will be very beneficial for the consumer market in terms of boosting sales for AMD as well as providing great value for the money at a much cheaper price. But the main problem is that if you want to buy the vega 64, you have to buy it with bundled items. As linus states in his video, if this is an attempt to ship cards directly to gamers only and wipe out the massive inventory of coin miners, AMD must be in a good place. But, if AMD is applying these restrictions directly towards coin miners than the concept of fairness in terms of selling vega to the public whether its coin miners or gamers, than AMD must be using a different marketing strategy to turn away the coin miners and bring in the gamers. Will this benefit AMD in terms of sales, or will this reduce sales with applying these restrictions. AMD is definately taking a different approach in terms of marketing strategies that could potentially change the way the consumer market sees vega whether its coin miners or gamers. I think the reason why AMD is applying these restrictions direclty towards coin miners is because stock is very limited and AMD cards seem to be sold out everytime because of coin miners. What could this mean for AMD?

I wasn't at LTX, but I did watch the RX Vega and Alienware PC unboxing pretty quickly after its release. The RX Vega launch is around the corner and it was nice to see an early unboxing. All that limited edition stuff was cool too. It appears tho journalists and reviewers from tech news sites are unhappy, because they didn't get early content. There's an article on KITGURU that shortly recaps what happened at LTX and then goes on to write about other news journalists expressing their unhappiness. A journalist from Tweaktown was particularly unhappy and was writing about it on his personal Facebook page. Apparently he was not the only one feeling this way. Link to the original article: https://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/carl/amd-teases-radeon-rx-vega-exclusively-with-linus-press-unhappy/
